CP Delf Discussion Part 14

Sep 13, 2023

    1. I have a Delf El, who'd I love to show off, but he desperately needs clothes.:vein

    2. I would really love another girl. Lishe or DES or Juri 05 are the ones I'd most like! I feel like Blue (Soony) needs some girl friends!

Oh yeah, I haven't seen that many Lu-Wens around. It would be so nice for you to have one again!

    3. I haven't got new photos to share, but I thought I'd share this one of Snow, my Lu-Wen girl ♡ I'm hoping to get her faceup done in the spring ♡ My mum will be helping me paint her ♡

    4. @Cloudedmind : You should show him off anyway!!! Neck up ;) haha. Actually I forgot how much I love the original delf boy torsos. What a time when all boy dolls weren't crazy jacked lol!

@Hyzenthlay : Best of luck tracking down your girls!! Lishe luckily pops up from time to time~ DES and Juri 05 might be a bit more tedious to track down, but I'm sure in time you will secure one. ^-^

      @SacredMonsoon : SO LOVELY! <3 Lu-Wen is such a lovely girl too... it's those plush lips... you've re-ignited my obsession with Lu-Wen!!!

Side note my Yder is home! He needs a bit of cleaning, and TLC but he's such a cutie.

      • x 5
    5. Thank you so much!! ♡ I hope you're able to find one! I'm not up to date on buying second hand these days, but I wish you luck!! Will yours be a boy or a girl? ♡

    6. @SacredMonsoon If I got a Lu-Wen, I'd probably keep him as a boy~ I used to have one waaaaay back when...but I don't think I have any photos of him anymore :( I don't see Lu-Wen's pop up too much these days, like so many of the later Delfs.

    7. Ah I see! Wishing you luck you find one! I've had Snow since 2011, so I got her around when Delfs were a bit more common. I'll be sure to share some more pics of Snow for her birthday too! (November 16th!)

    8. Hi everyone! I have a tiny delf family and still growing as I hunt down my babies! I just found my dream doll that got me into the hobby, EL-SS, and I can't wait to share him!

      • x 4
    9. My baby arrived a LOT earlier than I expected! Welcome to the family, Elian!

    10. @Lei Xing - congrats on your El! I have a SS El myself and I love him so much. The sleepy eyes just make them look so sweet, I think! Your boy is adorable and I love his blue wig! XD

    11. Congratulations on Elian's arrival! I love his smirk and his dreamy eyes

My Lishe-SS who has a very similar name (Elias) got his crutches earlier this week. I'm really slow with this hobby, but excited to be making some progress with representing my characters. Planning for jointed hands and wiring his finicky arms soon

    12. Sharing Elise (Delf Lishe 2006) from last month :) hope you all have a good November!

    13. @pepperonipizza - Thank you! The wig is actually temporary, but it does suit him nicely. >A< I accidently got his wig in MSD size instead of SD, oopsie!

@Serraphym Omgggggg! I love him so much! He's such a handsome boy! Where on earth did you manage to find crutches in 1/3 size?!

      • x 2
    14. They're Smartdoll crutches! I searched high and low for forearm crutches until I found them. The forearm part is a bit too narrow but seems modifiable. The metal part is also telescopic which is amazing :D

      • x 2
    15. That's amazing! I had to check them out and they have other items too! I love that!

    16. Today is Snow Bunny's 13th birthday!!! A bit of a different one as I'm moving so I couldn't do the big photostory/shoot I wanted to, but I did snap this photo of her on her own body for her first "I'm a full doll" birthday!! Lol!! ♡♡♡

[IMG]Happy 13th Birthday! ♡ by ❥ Emily Dawn, on Flickr

    17. @Lei Xing : The chokehold Dreaming El had on me as an early doll collector was insane... I just loved his sly eyes~ His default faceup is beautiful too! What a lucky find <3

@Serraphym : Such a cool find for your doll! Lishe's always made the cutest boys too~ The way your boys' eyes are modded remind me of Delf Harang's pretty eye shape!

@PinkBear : Such a gorgeous Lishe! I love her facuep~ The way her lips are painted is so perfect :love

      @SacredMonsoon :Happy 13th Birthday Snowy! <3 I'm sure she's happy to finally be on a body. :)

I finally got my Yder dressed up and in a wig that I like for him~ I'm debating if I should wipe his faceup and do something custom. I'm torn because you just don't see early Luts customs Delfs anymore... feels a shame to wipe it. But it does have some discoloration and minor wear.... but I guess I'll let it sit for a bit and then decide if I really want to redo him.

    18. You Yder looks so princely! I love that wig on him.
Definitely feel you on the faceup question. Sometimes I'll see an older Delf pop up for sale with a default faceup, which is awesome because it verifies authenticity, but I know if I bought them that I'd feel guilty if I wiped the faceup. But on the other hand, faceups were never meant to be permanent, I suppose, so do whatever feels right!

Your point on my Lishe's eyes is so interesting. I bought his head secondhand, and he's also a type 1 so is quite old. I was wondering if his eyes were ever modded or if there are differences in the generations of SS Lishes out there. Whichever it is, he's absolutely perfect to me :chibi

    19. This was Elias' head pre-faceup. I feel like I've seen versions of dreaming Lishes where the eyes are more closed

      • x 3
    20. @Serraphym : I'm not a delf expert by any means, but I think he might have been slightly modded to "open" his eyes a tiny bit more~ It's just a guess since I've seen some Lishe with very narrow almost closed eyes. I love his eye shape though~ It's definitely nice to be able to actually see the eyeball. :)

And you're right, I think I'll just wait and see how I feel about him later. He's fairly new so I'll see how attached I get to this particular faceup.

      • x 1
    21. I've also been wondering about dreaming Lishe's eyes...I have one as well and she looks unmodded but she's second hand so I have no clue of course. Where the eyelid crease is seems so natural. Here's my girl, who is waiting on a faceup still. :') She is a type 1, btw.

      • x 9
    22. Even in the photos that are still up on Luts' website of dreaming Lishe the eyes appear more closed, so him being modded had been my guess / assumption too. Maybe a Lishe expert can weigh in

      • x 3
    23. Your Lishe does look modded to me, especially the bottom of the eyes to give her a more prominent tear duct? Her eyes also look more open? (She's gorgeous even without a faceup, btw)

The ongoing mystery of dreaming Lishes :XD:

      • x 2
    24. I never considered they may have modded the bottom of her eyes. Omg that makes sense though, as the upper lid looks untouched to my eyes...I will have to reinspect her again when I do her faceup. (because getting her headcap off is a pain since it's held on with a rubberband inside) But I love my girl and she's perfect. I'd just love to know what she had done to her in the past. xD

edit - Looking at official pics, her eyes are meant to very narrow and almost closed..way more so than I thought. :O Lishe is just so beautiful in every form. Don't think I've ever seen one that isn't stunning, mods or not.

    25. I use masking tape on the headcaps of my Type 1 Delfs so that I don't have to bother with those evil S hook mechanisms inside lol.

I suspected that Type 2 Delfs on the website maybe have eyes that are more closed than Type 1, but never confirmed this theory. :edit: Actually, I take that back. Looking at archived official photos of Type 1, I think she really did have nearly sleeping eyes. Huh!

    26. @Akai Okami : Your Lishe is gorgeous~ I definitely agree with Serraphym - she looks like her lower eyelids were modded and carved open. To be honest, A LOT of delfs were modded back in the day. If you bought the "Special" package from Luts you got the dreaming head and I know people loved to customize those! Can't wait to see your girl with a faceup!

      • x 2
    27. Ah, you guys are really making me want a dreaming Lishe.

      • x 4
    28. @Dybbuk oh I had been eyeing that El-ss in the marketplace for weeks lol. I was determined to make him mine :3 it was the doll that made me even want to get into the hobby. I'm so glad he's come home. I'd honestly given up on him after Luts stopped selling them.

Ah! The default Yder face makes me almost regret wiping my El. It really is rare to see those old painting styles but as much as I love it, it didn't suit my boys. :<

      • x 4
    29. @Lei Xing : I agree... I have a different vision in mind for Yder but I think I will keep this one for a bit before I wipe it. I have a ton of dolls to work on, so no sense in having him sit around blank anyway. Are you going to customize your El SS as well?

      @Cloudedmind : I agree!!! This thread is dangerous~ :)

    30. I am! Well DID! Haha I just finished him yesterday. He needs earrings but that will come later. I'll post a photo at some point

    33. Thank you! I think of all the paints I've done recently he was the easiest. Maybe because I've been fantasizing about it for years x x

    36. Oops my photo links don’t work :doh

    37. Ah, missed out on a Soony, I think I can officially say that is my new grail doll. That and Dambi, which if I find one of those I'm officially done lol

      • x 2
    38. LOL, there's a long, long line of us...all seeking her out. I just can't forgive myself for keeping seeing her and wanting her on the Luts website, and then thinking I had forever to get her. And then she was gone. I was even offered one about 10 years ago, and had to let her go because I had no money at the time... *sigh*

      • x 3
    39. The regret of not buying Delfs 15 years ago when they were everywhere and now trying to find them secondhand is so real. Sorry to hear that you missed her @Lei Xing and @Alice80 too way back when, but hopefully some pop up still.

I posted in the Feeple channel, but I actually managed to acquire the A-line Muscular body, which I also thought would be impossible to find. It came with a cute Mirwen head, but the body has since been nabbed by my Moon, whose faceup I can finally do next spring now that I have the resin to color match him to. Need to work on getting him proper hair / clothes too :)

      • x 4

    40. I THOUGHT that was a Moon! Man I haven't seen one of them in a long time either! But yeah it sucks that I didn't have the money to get a Soony before they stopped selling her. I got a feeple that I plan to mod. It won't be "soony" but hopefully it'll still fit the character I have in mind. A real shame that Feeple/Luts can't run "lookback" dolls for those who weren't fortunate enough to get em.

      • x 1
    41. Their lookbacks are completely different from the originals :( . I've given up hope that they'll ever have the sculpts released as is again

      • x 1
    42. Well that sucks, I had no idea! :( Its a shame we probably wont ever see those beautiful dolls again. The new releases from CP/Luts are nice but they lack that appeal the older molds had

    43. Due to the legal issue that separated CP and Luts in the first place, I doubt there is any chance we'll see the original versions back in production at all. Hence, Fairyland has been "resculpting" them as a work around. It's still always going to be a shame though, and the fact that we're at 10+ years later and still feeling the loss shows how iconic they were (similar to DOD).

      • x 2
    44. Yeah, agree it's impossible. I do chalk a lot of the differences to the preference for smaller heads now, because they were able to release Elf Soony and Juri'12 that were similar enough to their old Delf sculpts. The newest lookback are like 7-8" heads apparently. It's unfortunate for old school doll lovers, but I get that stylistic tastes change with time

      • x 1
    45. shhhhhhame, the larger heads is what I loved most about them. Seeing the smaller molds now days made me tempted to reshell all my babies, but its just not worth it and finding the ones I have now is so HARD if I changed my mind

    46. Speaking of their giant heads -- I posted a few pics on my insta a few weeks ago, but I picked up this little Baymax hood at a Disney store in Japan last month. It's meant for Disney's "nuiMo" mini plushes, but I saw it and immediately wanted to try it on one of my dolls. I only have SDs tho, so the only head I could manage to get it on was my CP Yder's lol. Compared to other OG Delfs (especially Shiwoo's colossus cranium), Yder is quite petit!

    47. He and the hat are so cute!!! Good to know that they fit; I think I've seen those plushies at the Disney store

    48. I've been keeping mostly to the Project Journals subforum for ages but last month I finally finished the matching outfits I designed almost a year ago at this point for a sewing project round months back. Here's Nell, my type 1 Lishe with a Lilykoi faceup on a CustomHouse body so ancient it doesn't fit s-hooks and I have her hands tied on with thin cotton yarn, lmfao. I still need to give her lashes some TLC but I'm very worried about faceup damage so I keep putting it off. She is a lovely banana shade next to her much newer brother, my SDF Cian 2nd ver.

    49. Shes so cute! I love the matching outfits! And that wig is perfect for her look!

      • x 1
    50. @Mamo Your Lishe is lovely!

      • x 1
    51. @Lei Xing thank you!! I'm really pleased with how well it matches. Her brother has a multicolor wig too, they make such a coordinated pair!
@Alice80 thank you so much, I'm so glad you think so too!

      • x 1
    52. She's beautiful - her entire color scheme is gorgeous.

I feel you on the fear of messing up a faceup - I'm scared to even change my Breakaway's eyes because I don't want to mess up his look or his faceup. It's funny because in contrast, I really have no fear having Elias (my Lishe that I painted myself) out with me.

      • x 1
    53. I feel a little insane that I get dolls with these beautiful face ups that I just wipe clean and redo myself x_x I mean they look and feel more personal when I do but its always a shame and feels like a waste. Reasons, I prefer to get blank dolls when I can.

    54. [IMG]
I wanted to share my newest boy, a Breakaway'08!! :D I've been working on smoothening his eye opening mod which was done by a previous owner and I'm only about 80% done on his left eye (so his right eye is still a bit rough), but I couldn't resist putting him on a body to share a quick pic. I can't express how much joy seeing him gives me gahhhhh. It's so hard to find photos of CP dolls nowadays and I've been coming back to this thread every now and then to get a fix haha

      • x 12
    55. Say no more! Lol I love showing off my CP babies. I'm always happy to take photos of em. You did a really good job fixing up his one eye too! I would love to see him when he's fully put together!

    56. @Insane-Chan : Your Yder has such a wonderful default faceup!!! <3 He looks so boyishly cute. I am also suprised by Yder's head size compared to his other delf brothers/sisters that were in production at the time. Shiwoo's, Chiwoo's and El's always seemed to dwarf Yder in comparison. O_O

@Mamo : Congrats on completing your Lishe! She looks quite festive :chibi

@cian : Gorgeous *_* You're doing a fabulous job with the mods. He has such a sly look that is perfect for his smirky vampire smile. <3

    57. @Dybbuk Thank you! I think you'll recognize her brother:XD:

    58. @Mamo It is so nice to see him again being spoiled and loved <3 I love what you've done with him!

      • x 1
    59. Yes please, more photos of your dolls would be welcome :3 I love your dreaming El from a few posts ago, such a handsome fellow and I like his faceup too :) Thank you, I am going quite slowly on sanding the eyes because I want to keep the current shape without removing too much from it, but I can't wait for when I can put my BA together with a faceup!!!

Thank you! Ahh, that smirky vampire smile is what got me so hooked on him, those tiny teeth! I love how the teeth look even though they probably make very little anatomical sense for a vampire xD

    60. Hi all, really neglecting my dollies as usual but I recently took some pictures of my dreaming El, Ronove, so I thought I'd share :aheartbea

Hoping to take more pics of my Delfs again for the upcoming Delfuary, hehe! Maybe I'll even change their clothes for once...
