Hey all - I'm hoping to get a female body that's on the taller end for my Elf Yder, does anyone have any taller hybrid girls? I'm hoping for SD17 size range? (so like 62cm ish). Resin is NS.

 

The company isn't around anymore, so you'd have to keep an eye on the secondary market... but April Story's taller Senior girl bod might work, and their Normal was a pretty decent resin match for CP and Fairyland's. (I had a NS Fairyland Halloween head on an AS Senior bod for awhile... until my Migi Siho swiped it. )

 

I kind of started putting some ideas for my Na Nu Ri head together and yet again, all my Delfs lean the Punk/Gothic way I have no idea what kind of direction I want his faceup to go, but definitely a darker natural route

 

Man, I really need a Shiwoo or El in my doll family. Currently I have too many volks and need some variety ^^;

 

River agrees. He says Els are super cute and you need one

Hey guys, it's been a while! But I got a NEW OLD DELF, a Dark Human Soo! I had a head before but sold it, this is a full doll WITH THE ORIGINAL FACE UP. I can't wait to take pictures of her!

If you can find one on the second hand market, a Feeple 70 body will work very well with a Delf head! A lot of people put Delf heads on Feeple 70 bodies in ye olde days.

 

Oh, and Luts Real Skin Peach is a pretty good match for CP normal, with a face up the difference wouldn't be too noticeable and there are a variety of Luts bodies!

 

Delf type 2 heads will fit on Fairyland F65 bodies, as well. And the color match is perfect with the original white and normal skin heads (aside from the usual yellowing of white skin of course)

 

Hold on, so if I have an old NS Shiwoo delf, I can put him on a Luts body? Should I get Luts normal or Real skin peach? He's definitely yellowed

 

I recently got real skin peach and sadly wasn't a match for my old cp delf at all. Most of the new luts resins don't match the oldies. 

I have 2023/2022 luts real skin normal, peach and white skin heads and hands.
None of them match my various yellowed ns and ws delf heads.

 

Dang, thanks for the info! Maybe I'll just hybrid mine on an actual banana My shiwoo has his delf body, I'm just not personally a fan and I'd like to do a little more with him, so the hunt continues.

Luts peach matches really new Fairyland/CP about 90%, but yeah, the more yellowed the less likely it is to match. I thought I'd solved your problem! *sigh*

I never post in here because my delfs are in shameful states, but I really wanted to take my Breakaway out with me a few weeks ago, and I gave him some dignity by covering his wigless head with a hoodie.

(I put a picture here, but Imgur is the worst to use these days and breaks everything when I try to use it through my phone. Guess I'll upload it later!)

He is very kicky, even more than my El (also Type 1). I don't know if there's a way to fix them unless I wire them, but I have never wired before and it seems intimidating. I would have to look into where to get coated wire.

 

Craft stores or hardware stores would sell coated wiring. It’s not too difficult if you don't have any issues with unstringing your dolls. Hot glue sueding also works wonders for them.

If he's kicky, he's just strung too tight. If you relax the tension a bit, it should solve that issue. The wire is just for holding poses better, but if his elastic isn't eased up, he'll still want to kick.

 

Waiting to hear from the seller but I'm pretty sure I just managed to snag an 08 Breakaway head on a Type 2 Delf body! I'm beside myself with excitement. I used to have a Breakaway head but I had to sell him a few years ago. I never thought I'd be able to find one again for a decent price!

On the note of Breakaway, I looked at the WordPress page but I'm struggling to find the overall difference between an 08 and 05 head? Like which tends to be rarer and why?

Mainly, 08 Breakaway has a slimmer and pointier face while 05 is bigger, wider looking. less pointed in the chin. You can see some comparisons:

I'm not sure how many 08 Breakaways there were, but you see them more than 05. Breakaway 05 was released around 100 units on the English site across the two release times, and about the same for the other language sites if I recall correctly. 06 would be the rarest since it was just 20.

(Actually, since we're both in the Chi-Town community, we can have our Breakaways meet to see in person!)

I'm just so excited that I found another Breakaway after selling my other one and I regretted it ever since. I'm not picky on which one I have, just happy to have one at all

Finally ordering some elastic for my Elf Yders so they aren't 90% floppiness, does anyone else have one? I'd love to see how others have customized theirs, even if I'm still weary to remove an original Luts faceup...

 

This perfect autumn weather makes me wanna go outside and take photos, but I'm too exhausted....so have a snap of my sweet boy who still wont pick a name for himself. (he's cute so it's fine i guess lol)



This is also perfect faceup doing weather. I'd love to get my Lishe painted so I can share her as well.

I have a vampire Yder. I've been told he was probably modified. Was there a sleeping vampire Y'der? Or did they open the eyes that seem more dreamy in LupusDarkMoon's boy? No idea who did his faceup as he came to me second hand by way of a friend passing on a doll someone had passed to them.


I love the tiny tips of teeth on his lip.

Here are my boys! I have a WS Yder (own faceup), NS Elf Yder (AngelToast faceup) and a MNF Elf Yder (own faceup) because I'm a Yder fanatic haha~ I'd love to get my hands on a vampire elf one day. I used to have one but sold him off over 10 years ago u_u

No, I impulse bought his head from the DOA marketplace more than 10 years ago because I fell in love with the faceup. Unfortunately I don't remember who from or who the faceup artist was

I may or may not have more delfs on the way now - I'm afraid everytime I get excited about something I'm unlucky, so I won't say a thing more until everything is safely in my hands Does anyone else have that kind of luck?

I took one of my Breakaway heads to the Chicago community's Halloween meet, but he didn't have a wig at the time and I had stubbornly fought his pants up his legs just to get some boots on him, so he was a little undignified. He has a temp wig now.

Lately I have been really unmotivated to post on DoA anymore because finding a way to upload and get image links for pictures completely from my phone is such a pain. But I do like the forums, so I always come back once in a while when I feel up to fighting with image linking on my phone.



Nothing is the permanent style I want for him but I am very slowgoing in the hobby, so since I can't repaint him or do anything soon it's fine to enjoy them as they are.
I still hope to go for visual kei though. 2006 I will not abandon you... ()

By the way, has no one seen that Nanuri 06 up on ebay? No one's bought him yet, and I am not personally interested to collect him but I do like to see what others do with all the old delfs. It'd be nice if he went to someone who will take pictures of him.

 

@aestellica your breakaway is gorgeous I'm so glad you shared him even if it is a pain. I have such a weakness for breakaway.

I've been very slow going with my dolls lately too. Some of mine have been waiting for faceups since forever (or so it feels) but I'm pretty chill about waiting. I'm trying really hard not to cave and buy any of the delfs that I've seen around... I've already spent way too much on them this year

Here are my poor babies that are waiting to be finished - Caid (breakway 05) and Hugo (vamp woosoo mod)

 

His faceup is absolutely beautiful! So perfect for Halloween
I'm also very slow-moving in this hobby. It's a marathon not a race, I tell myself (and the many unfinished dolls who have been sitting there for many many years now XD)

 

Love seeing all the Delf darlings! Especially the parade of Yders! He was the first Delf I put on my wish list~ And I'm finally waiting on one to be delivered to me shortly.

I have some questions for the group... where do you like to buy your Delf clothes now? It used to be that this 58-60cm size was the standard, but nowadays I can't find SD clothes that aren't made for 65cm+. I remember my delfs would swim in clothes made for my Senior Delfs... I definitely can't imagine trying to fit them in SD65 clothes on them now.

Curious if anyone had favorite shops that fit them well still~ I'm know Sadol still specifically offers the size, but my brain is having a hard time of thinking of anyone else.

 

For clothes I usually get them from Alice's Collections. Most of their boy clothes are still offered in 1/3 (SD13) sizes. Dollmore still has some 60cm boy clothes as well, though not as many as I remember them having. Nine9style has some really nice stuff as well for SD13/SD17 boys. I'm also quite fond of rRabit's quality, though I will say I've only ordered clothes for 68cm boys, but I know they offer for the shorter boys too.

Aaand photo tax with Luca, my modded vamp Breakaway. He was my first Delf and I've almost sold him so many times and am very glad I never did. ♥

 

@Akai Okami : Those are all great suggestions! Thank you so much. I totally forgot that Nine9style still exists! I do enjoy some of the outfits from Alice Collections... so I'll check there too. Love your Breakaway. I have had my share of them and sold my share of them. And I did regret it...because I ended up buying one again lol. You can't ever quit collecting Delfs sometimes...

 

I get most of my clothes from Dollyteria nowadays. It's hard to find things new that I like that are the right size (it's crazy how hard it is to get clothes for SD13 size now!). I also love everything I've got from Nine9style.

I've been on the fence about keeping my 08 Breakaway since I got the 05, so I dressed him up and had a play with him. I'm still not happy with him though, so he went back in the drawer not long after this

 

@Hyzenthlay : Love your doll's style!!! Thank you for the suggestions. I have never ordered from Dollyteria before so this gives me an excuse to figure it out. It's amazing how the slight differences in the '08 and '05 Breakaway puts one over the over for some collectors. I've only owned 2005 Breakway's -- but the 2008s have tempted me many times.

Speaking of, this is the only Delf in my house (until Yder comes home) 2005 SS Breakaway. He is the Count Verre version. He needs new eye lashes though. His old ones were crushed and not in good shape when he arrived. He is always ready for Halloween~

Yeah, I always wanted the 05 more. But the real problem I have with the 08s is that they're type 2/3s with the neck mechanism. I love my type 1 delfs so much more, so I just get frustrated with them. It doesn't really make much difference in photos so I'm always salivating over other people's, but actually owning them and holding them... they feel very different to the type 1s that I love.

I also just keep thinking, well, if I sold them I would have funds to look for another delf on my wishlist...

Ordering from Dollyteria is actually really easy once you've figured it out! And I've always been happy with my orders (I actually got my 08 Breakaways from Dollyteria. That was the first thing I bought from there. Couldn't resist them and I was really surprised when they arrived that they came with the original box as that hadn't been mentioned in the listing!)

 

I bought him! He should be home in a few days. I'm so excited. Now I have Juri06 and Nanuri06 twins! I'll take pics of all my Delf dolls to share on here once I have a chance to sew them all some proper clothes. Your doll is beautiful, BTW! And I'm glad to see some people keeping 2006 alive!

Everyone's dolls on this thread are so amazing and beautiful! @Dybbuk I haven't seen a Count Verre Breakaway for so long. How on earth did you manage to find one?

 

@Hyzenthlay : New Delfs are always a temptation! I don't have much experience with the type 2s. I have always seemed to have the luck of finding the older dolls. If you could get a new Delf which would you get? I've always liked Lu-Wen and had one way back when but he's also a pretty rare sight these days~

@pepperonipizza : Congrats on your Nanuri!!! Lucky find! The Delf event heads used to be so prolific and now seem to be pretty scarce these days too~ Can't wait to see your twins. If you can believe it, I managed to get this boy via Y!J...hmmm I think in 2022-ish? He was listed for auction, and had to be the high bidder! When he came home he did smell of cigarette smoke. So I had to do an extreme odor treatment on him... but I was pleased that his faceup (minus the lashes) arrived completely intact. He didn't come with anything else from the set, just the head - so I've had to 'reimagine' him in a new way.

Thank you! Regathering these old Delfs is a bit of an obsession for me. I was able to adopt a WS Shiwoo with his original company face up (who's still waiting to be restrung so he can join the others...) And now this Nanuri06. I'm so happy to have found them!

Man, I bet that was stressful doing the odor treatment on Count Verre especially considering his original face up! I love the way you've dressed him. It's such a beautiful outfit and quite perfect for him!
