I was very lucky to have been able to buy a Soony in excellent condition last month and I am completely enamored with her. She's so gorgeous! I've wanted her since I first got into BJD's (back when she was still available) and I definitely never got over her, even after realizing that I preferred 1/4 dolls and getting a Minifee Soony. There's just something about the original Delf Soony that's so special. Even the F60 version just feels different, even though I can't place why exactly.

I've spent most of my free time on the weekends since working on her in various ways. I gave her the notched torso insert slouching mod and it works great. I also gave her full leather sueding, except for hot glue in her ankles and wrists, and it took all day! I made her an experimental hard cap wig using using tibetan lamp plate scavenged off a thrifted pillow. There's leather around the hairline/part/braid and the rest is glued to reduce the bulk/fluff. I also started doing her faceup, but I decided after I did the eyelashes that I just didn't like the design anymore, so I'll be doing her again. I took photos anyway though! She's so ridiculously photogenic that she looks great even with a faceup I'm unhappy with.

@Glace Leau , I love your stylized lashes, and yes, she's gorgeous! Great work on the wig! I just made my first lambskin wig today, but it's for a different doll. I've had that piece for so long, afraid to cut it because I'm a scaredie cat. I'm so glad I pushed myself today, hope I continue the productivity . Also, I've never seen a mod like that before, excellent!

I've wanted a Soony boy for the longest time. I have my eyes open for a OE head, so let me know if you see one. I should probably look on IG or FB for a Soony head, but I don't know how to find things on those apps.

Everyone's dolls look so cool! I should put Ryuichi (Shiwoo) in some autumn clothes and take a few pics...once it stops raining.

@Glace Leau congrats on your Soony! 100% agree that the F60 version and the minifee are missing something but I also can't tell what exactly that is. I personally love the faceup you gave yours! And her eyes are incredible!

So I finally got my Luts order in and Shiwoo snagged one of the wigs right off the bat! I wanted to originally go a bit more red with his wig, but with the faceup style I have in mind, this pale blonde almost white color will really look good on him!

Juri just received her new commissioned eyes and I'm in awe, I love them so much. She still has a long way to go with a faceup and wig but she's slowly getting there.

@malvinas your IF is so gorgeous! You're so lucky to have one in BW. I've always wanted one especially in BW, but never had the luck to run into one at the marketplace.

 

@clowve Thank you! I actually had put a WTB up on the marketplace a few years ago and about a month after I put it up I received a message from someone offering to sell her to me. Definitely put up a WTB if you are looking for one seriously. You never know someone may have one they are willing to part with that they haven't yet listed for sale!

 

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know if the Senior Delf girl hands and feet would fit on a Delf girl?

Very much wanting some heel feet, but Luts doesn't have them for Delf.

 

They have different polyurethane.

 

I don't mind if the colour matches or not, more wondering about whether or not they physically fit.

 

Seconding the suggestion for a WTB. I landed my IF that way. Someone was negotiating a trade with someone else and saw IF was on the list so everyone benefited.

 

LUTS says the senior delf girl heel feet fit the Type3 delf body, I haven't tried it though and I have no idea about hands.

Oh, I think we're going to do something really exciting!!! We're gonna stay home, sit around the house, on our computers and forget that holidays are here, ROFL Actually, I'm thinking Thanksgiving was so sad, we will try to all get together for dinner on Xmas, and I hope they won't take that away from us. We have a young man with a heart condition and and older lady who already is on oxygen in the family, so we're all very careful, thus I really think we could get together safely, but yah :/

 

Aw i hope you can get together! I'm going to be home this year too, now that i'm in my new apartment! I am going to our cities lights show tonight! It's going to be fun, and I'm also going to start sewing soon.

Hi, I meant to do this a while back. I've had some old Senior Delf feet but I never really got them on use with my Delf girls. Senior feet are a bit bigger but as these have similar ankle balls with the old Delf feet they worked well. I was not able to post my photo here for some odd readon (it was blocked?), but you can see the photos in my Instagram account: Login • Instagram Post has Juri 05 in the first photo.

I don't know about newer Senior Delf heel feet as these are most likely at least 7 years old. Can't remember, but I bought them in a group oder from Luts. If the ankle ball and the heel foot is similarly build I'd say it could be a good fit.

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to finally have a CP Delf and join this thread. They were the line of dolls that really got me into BJDs almost 10 years ago! (Originally planned on Soony being my first BJD but I was in high school and couldn't afford her before Luts discontinued the line )
Now, after years of drooling over other peoples' Delfs, I finally have one, and he's my fave Delf boy! I was able to adopt this El off the marketplace recently and I'm absolutely in loooove! This wig & eyes are temporary until his come in the mail. Once I have those I'll do his faceup and hopefully have a name for him by then!
He also came with a Yder head that I still have no plans for lol. I'm just enjoying El as he is for now

 

Omg congrats @kaboomkim! I adore El's and yours looks so good even blank! Do you have a name for him yet?

 

@SacredMonsoon thanks so much! El really is one of those guys that looks good even when he's blank I haven't settled on a name for him yet. I'm waiting until I do his faceup and get his permanent wig & eyes. I'm considering a few names for him tho, Ethan is one that's stuck out to me. I kinda wanted to keep him with an "E" name for El Other names I'm considering are Easton and Jason. We'll see what works for him when he's all put together!

 

@kaboomkim ooh i totally agree! El's are so beautiful I like Ethan! E names are fun, but I might think so because I'm an E name too! Lol what look is he gonna have?

 

Oh same! CP delfs were what got me into bjds too, I was obsessed with miyu but couldn't afford one (still don't have an original one but was lucky to get a fairyland one eventually).

Same! My first dolls were Delfs (and Kid Delfs). And an El was the very first sculpt I saw and fell in love with all the way back in 2006. Ironically I still haven’t added one to my collection! Congrats on getting yours!

 

I'm the same! El, Lishe and DES were my very first doll loves! I want an El someday and maybe a DES if I can! I'm just so happy I have Feather and Snow i love delfs, they're the best!

I also got addicted to BJDs when I beheld a CP face - it just wasn't a Delf, although it didn't take long for me to find the Delf version and my Lishe (and CP and Delf) addiction was born! (three of my first five dolls were different sized Lishes...)

Oh, so you brought him home, @kaboomkim! I've been looking at him for months, debating on if I wanted to bring him home myself or not. Oh well, its cool that he's with someone that loves him, especially by someone who got their first (and second!) Delf! Congrats, they're both really handsome guys!

I am yet another one that saw an El as my first BJD. It was at an anime con, I think back in 2006 or so. I never got one for myself, but my partner has one, so I'm perfectly happy living vicariously through his El.

I've decided that I'm going to do some serious catch-up work towards my Crew as my New Years resolution. I'm already looking for updated clothes for some of them, and a glass case where they can safely live when I'm not playing with interacting with them. But then I realized that poor Shuichi, my Elf Chiwoo hasn't had a faceup since I got him way back in 2015. Oops!

I think that now that I'm once again healthy enough to interact with my Crew, I'm going to get him one, again as part of my resolution. The poor boy has been so patient with me, he deserves some new clothes. So now I'm looking for something nice to expand his meager wardrobe with.

You know, sometimes they just don't need a faceup, they're so cute and full of personality! I think the OT minifee Marcia is like that, and pretty much all the delfs, especially the boys (you don't need as much color for "prettiness" if you don't want it. Of course that's how we make them unique But yah, these old CP sculpts are so gorgeous, they just shine through!

 

I think Snow looks so cute even faceupless. But a goal this year is to paint her! And get her proper wig! But funds are always tight and I'm hoping after my birthday I'll get a bit more dolly money!
I was in a health issue too, but it's great to be back with my dolls. I just wanna start sewing and finishing my girls. Then it's just saving to wait on.
Do you have plans for your chiwoo @Ryuichi Sakuma 13? What kinda faceup will he have?

@SacredMonsoon Hehe he might end up joining you with an E name! I got him blue eyes and a blackish brown wig in a similar style to the one I first pictured him in. His eyes came in and his wig should be here any day now! Also Snow is just so beautiful, even without a face! Are you sending her away or painting her yourself?

@IngieBee He's really in beautiful shape for a doll of his age! He's, of course, mellowed out and has some Knicks and dents but nothing I wouldn't expect from a doll that's over 10yrs old! And you're right about them looking so beautiful blank! I'm almost afraid to paint him because I'm afraid I'll make him less handsome than he already is! Buuut I need my dolls to have eyebrows lol.

@IngieBee, I agree wholeheartedly with you that CPs have the most expressive faces, and I do love that fact, but the rest of his 'Gravitation' series group have faceups, so he needs one in order to fit in. He's gorgeous as is, don't get me wrong, but one day next year, I'd love to take a pic with the entire group in their canon clothes, Shuichi included. If we had the room, I'd get the other two in his band so he wouldn't be alone. He's not, not really, but his boyfriend doesn't have a body.

I will still take pics of him faceupless before I get the money to send him out, of course!

Snow is also definitely cute blank, @SacredMonsoon! Yeah, funds are tight here too, especially with the holidays. Oof. I'm going to end up waiting until next year to do any major clothes buying and shipping out to spas for faceups. I'm happy that you're healthy and back with your dolls, congrats!

Shuichi is going to eventually have a faceup like his anime counterpart. That's Ryuichi's anime counterpart hugging him. Maybe I'll eventually recreate that pic someday. Gravitation is the series that first got me into BJDs. I wanted to create Nittle Grasper, my favorite band from the series out of resin, which I did!

@kaboomkim, your boy is definitely a stunner, even faceupless! I can't wait for the "big reveal" with his name, wig and eyes. Yasssss, El is definitely a must-have sculpt, which is why I live vicariously through my partner's El. Did you know that Lishe and El are supposed to be twins, and Shiwoo is Chiwoo's younger brother? Delfs seem to mellow really nicely, don't they? IIRC, Noriko and my Sleeping Yder, Prism are both from 2005. They've both mellowed really nicely. Shuichi's not supposed to be an elf, but since he's a pretty rare one (he even came with archer hands!), I'm not complaining!

My rambling is what you sometimes get when you blend my 4am bedtime (I used to work nights before becoming disabled), and a (fanfic) writer.

Oh wow, @SacredMonsoon! I wish I was talented enough to do faceups. My talents lean more with writing than anything, I just don't have that "artist's perspective eye" that's needed to draw more than stick figures. I'm sure that Snow will be a stunner when you're finished.

@SacredMonsoon ooh that'll be fun! I love doing my own faceups, even if I'm clearly an amateur next to dolls I have that are professionally painted. It's a good to at least know the process as a collector, imo. And I noticed you managed to keep Feather's company faceup! it looks amazing! Ive known some people who can't manage company faces for more than a year lol.

CPs' stories are pretty cool, aren't they? IIRC, they were one of the original sculpting groups back in the day. I hope that you can find a Lishe, They are such cool looking ladies! Right, @TeaPartyRevolution?

I've managed to have a few faceups that have lasted for long times, as difficult as it sometimes seems to be. Its simply a matter of being careful. And thank you, Noriko loves being called pretty!

Thank you @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 I can't wait to see your band together! Chiwoo is such a cutie! The first dolls I ever saw were Delfs and I think they'll always be my favourite! And thank you about Snow! I'm actually a writer too! I don't have much on my dolls but I've written over 22 books in my spare time! I want to do my dolls story someday when it comes to me! Do you write just doll stories?

@kaboomkim i agree! I think it'll be fun to do them, and give me more options when buying dolls with those darn white eyelashes. Lol.. oh yes, thank you! Her faceup is 10 years old, but theres only a little chip under her chin. I'm proud she has it, and I'm hoping it'll stay for another 10!

@IngieBee No, it's not a default faceup - she's a modded Dreaming, so you couldn't have a default on her if you tried. Her faceup is, of course, AngelToast (I'm almost as addicted to her faceups as I am to Lishes). I think there are more custom faceups in my collection than defaults now... (possibly when even not just counting the Delfs)

@kaboomkim Oh their faces are so adaptable, I can't help but love them. I also have Els (and Breakaways, which are a version of El) but just not to the same extent I have Lishes.

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 So classic that I think that they are for some reason easier to become addicted to than some other sculpts - I know people who have large El collections, Shiwoo collections, etc etc. But not a lot of people who have more than 1 or 2 SOOMs of the same sculpt. [Ironically I do have a small collection of multiple versions of a non-CP sculpt, but there's only four of them...]

Heh... just checked my photos - the only Lishes in my collection who still have a default faceup are my Delf Arts...

And since I showed a photo of my first Delf Lishe, here's my second... She's on an F70 body (which I had purchased from my Type 1 before I realised it was a bad idea.)

@IngieBee - Thank you. They did yes, she was briefly (!) available as an F60, and was one of the first heads they offered as an F60 beyond the original release heads. She is unfortunately no longer available as an F60 - I can't remember if she was ever offered on the Moe body, somehow I don't think so. Fairyland also produced the MNF (once Luts lost them), the Chicline and the LTF versions. Unfortunately she's just about to be discontinued as a MNF.

I have two F60 Lishes - a WS and a Tan. Here's my Tan with my Tanning Delf:

 

Yah, I have her as a chicline, delf and a minifee. I have to stop there now, LOL. If Fairyland made another adult like Lishe, I'd be in so much trouble!

@SacredMonsoon , do you photoshop your pictures? Or does your camera give it that dreamy quality?

 

Its kind of a mix of both. I set up colored lights to tone the photo, then my camera picks up the colors, and then i brighten and saturate and turn down the contrast, then i use the nashville filter on instagram
