Well, DES was going to be my first, but at the time Luts told me that they were going to release her head with a type 2 option in summer of 2007, so I bought a body and got my Juri 06 head for free. I thought at the time I could get one body and then just keep buying new heads and wigs and eyes and whatnot (HA!).


This led to an addiction to event heads and me having no money to get DES when they announced the closing of the Delf line.. and me spending several years tracking down my DES.

 

Ugh! But you did finally get your DES, right @Tonboko ?

 

She’s so lovely!! Gorgeous.

My first Delf (but not my last! ) was my Chiwoo Tanning, which I bought second hand here on DoA in 2008. I had been looking for Delf Chiwoo and when I saw one in such a beautiful light brown color, I had to jump!

 

Yep! Got three of them now and still get tempted a bit when I see others pop up.

 

I hope to get a DES one day, but my next wishlist is an El, I want my lil delf collection to be home! But DES holds a special place too because DES and Lishe were the first dolls i ever saw! happy old days...

Does anybody have dolly halloween plans?

 

My first (and only) CP/Delf is a 2007 (I think that's the right year, I'm too lazy to look it up right now LOL) Lishe Elf. I got her because I'd tried for 3 years and about 4 dolls to shell a character in MSD size. Even the Lishe human MNF I got didn't work. Then I saw her on the MP and knew that I knew - she was Kirah, even with the elf ears!

 

My first Delf was a DES that I no longer have. I had discovered BJDS several years before I actually got one, and some of the first I saw were El, Moon, Yder and other Luts dolls. I loved them and kept seeing them when researching. Unfortunately, when I got my first BJD, I didn't just save up and buy from Luts directly, and ended up getting an AS doll on ebay, but then after getting access to DoA, I got a DES used on the marketplace. I later moved into a small apartment for a while and sold the two SDs because I also was into model horses heavily at the time. After I moved again a couple years later, I got back into BJDs, first getting mnf because I thought that would save space, but still it didn't satisfy the need for an El xD so I eventually got Shiryu, my first El The rest was downhill into SDs lol.

@Ravenwolf I successfully stayed away from SD sized dolls until 2017 (except for my floating Juri07b head of 10 years! And it was her fault I slipped down the slippery slope. Now I'm afraid to count! Ugh! LOL

 

@IngieBee Lol I haven't counted in a while either...I haven't been very active lately. I went through a divorce that started in April and I moved in April and just haven't gotten back into the swing of things, but I still love my collection very much and I browse DoA every day still ^_^

 

Oh wow @Ravenwolf , that is an upheaval. I'm sure it's been draining too. But you are your own person again, and when the dust settles, we'll be here ready to share

Thank you @IngieBee & @SacredMonsoon I'm sure I will get back into things more eventually! Getting a house again when I can will help! It's definitely not all a bad thing, just draining and was a big change and I miss my family, but I'm not alone. Part of the reason things happened was mutual realizing we weren't compatible and more just friends now, and the other part was meeting someone I connected with instantly and fell head over heels for haha. It's complicated, but at least I'm happier in some ways ^_^

 

I'm glad you're happy . If I ever could get free from my ball and chain, I'd relish that freedom too much to try again ROFL.

Wow i like her! She looks so different from other lishes

 

I'm glad I went back a page, so many beautiful dolls!

I saw my first BJD at an anime con back in the day, around 2004 or so, and if memory serves me well, he was an El. The caregiver wasn nice enough to let me hold him for a bit, and it was love!

At the time, I was heavily into an anime called 'Gravitation,' and I wanted to make resin versions of my favorite band from it. The band's name is Nittle Grasper, and my favorite character's name from it is Sakuma Ryuichi, Nittle Grasper's eccentric lead singer. So after searching DoA, a friend showed me a pic of a Shiwoo as a suggestion for Ryuichi, and it was a definite 'eureka' moment!

So after some finagling I ended up with Ryuichi, my first Shiwoo, and that was the beginning of my "falling down the Cerberus Project well!"

If I counted correctly, I now have 17 CP dolls, 9 which I can show on this thread. A few are still floating heads, but now that I'm back into the hobby, I'm going to complete all my dolls that still need finishing, including my 8 floating heads. Thus my keeping an eye open for a WS (beauty green!) boy body for "The Elf," among other things.

I know, a long post, but I suppose that's what happens when you ask a (fanfic) writer a question!

Fun Fact: I Americanized Sakuma Ryuichi's name by switching his last and first names and that's where I got my DoA sn from.

 

Aw your story is cute @Ryuichi Sakuma 13! I love shiwoos too, I almost got one once but I missed the chance maybe someday I'll hoard all the CP heads!

 

I'd love to do that, but after once paying $250 for a Luts CP head, I'm reluctant to do that again.

I accidently another Lishe.There was one in our Finnish bjd group for sale and I caved in to get a sister for Ebony. I got her out from post office yesterday, she clearly needs some cleaning, new elastics and face up. Her eyelashes were dropping off when I got her. Exited to see how tanning Lishe and ns Lishe will go as sisters. And I named her Ivory, or Ivy for short.

 

Oh congrats @xaya!! I can't wait to see her! More Lishes for everyone!

 

At the first doll meet up I attended I saw an El and a Lishe and was captivated. Getting information and purchasing was not that easy in those days.
Finally Luts had their site and I lucked out in the January 2005 "click war" and bought my first Delf. Lishe Limited Elf with 3 heads all with their factory make up. Supposedly there were only 69 made.
I've never had much time to spend photographing my dolls. This is the only picture I have of her. It won't be much longer until I can retire and then playing and taking pictures will be my occupation.
Want to thank all who have posted their Delfs here. I look in and get happy seeing all the beauties but seldom have the time to be posting.

Passionasfashion, your girl is amazing! Did you end up getting bodies for all three heads, or do they body swap? I've never heard of the "Lishe limited with three heads." Do you have pics of the other two heads? Are they Dreaming and Sleeping heads, or human and vampire? Or three completely different facesups? I'm dying of curiosity as to what they are! Pics would be even better, old-school Delf faceups are so cool!

@IngieBee Thank you, I was thinking about an older Luts Minifee Lishe too at some point but there's not many of those around for sale. Maybe not at this point as I already have two Delf now. xD My sister gladly accepted the layaway and I paid first part already. It's been great to play with the bigger dolls lately too.

 

Bigger dolls are, at least to me, the best! they have so much presence!

Ironically enough, I was kind of squeamish when it came to sleeping dolls until I saw her. It was love at first sight! My friend who had her decided that she wanted to have MSDs and smaller, so she gave me first dibs.

I'm currently thinking of giving my old CP Chiwoo a new face up... but bleh, I don't know if I should do it or not... My Chiwoo has had the same face up ever since I got him 9 years ago. His face up was done by his first owner who also did his mods.
I guess I'm just being silly, but part of me is worried he won't be 'himself' anymore if I change his face up? So not sure what to do... Anyone else had hesitations regarding changing face ups on their dolls? ><

 

I feel that @Lotte Rotten, my girls faceup is the company faceup and its so her I'm terrified to ruin it. I don't know if I could ever capture her look right if I redid it. I hope your boy can keep his look, he's very unique!

Personally, I agree with IngieBee. I would leave his faceup alone unless it somehow got messed up. But then again, I'm a "why mess with perfection?" kind of guy.

I too have a Chiwoo, Shuichi. He's an elf Chiwoo.

Right now he's blank, and has been since I bought him a few years ago. I think I'm going to look into finally getting his faceup done. He's my only blank full doll right now.

I know how you feel. My IFs default is pretty and I do not want to change it, but her brows are too dark for the blonde I was hoping she would be... I kinda want to change it, but at the same time, I do not want to wipe the default face. And while not default, I thought about changing my Elf Lishe's face from time to time. While generally perfect otherwise, I am not 100% liking her lower lashes. And then there is my VDES... I was so going to send her out for a new face and then her current one grew on me. We need a waffle icon for the forum something fierce.

 

@SacredMonsoon @IngieBee Thank you so much for your replies- I think it's probably for the best that I keep my Chiwoos 'old' face up for now... I really am worried if he will look too 'different' if I re-do it myself in a more realistic style ><

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 haha yes, 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it', right?!!^^ My Chiwoo is named Paddington. I do hope your Chiwoo can have a face up soon- and then you must share a photo of him here! :3

@Tonboko I know how you feel....sigh -___- With your IFs dark eyebrows... I have sometimes re-painted eyebrows, while keeping the rest if the face up- it can be done. You need a very fine sanding paper to first sand off the eyebrows, then you do a coating (do remove glued-on eyelashes first tho), then re-paint eyebrows and coat again. Obviously, this 'lazy' method only works if the doll doesn't have any shading/realistic skin texture.
