I can't wait to see Feather in her new dress! What's the countdown time now, @SacredMonsoon?

I was lucky enough to find the rarest of the rare recently! For literally years I have needed a beauty green boy body for Sternauge, my DES head, and then to find a pair of archer hands for Hraban, the other head that shares the body.... Its like everything had fallen into place!

I'm temporarily relegated to using my phone, so I'm hoping that this link works out. It should be Hraban's head next to his new archer hands.

And, I'm working on a merman tail for Sternauge, who currently is using Hraban's body.

A little less than a month, I believe @Ryuichi Sakuma 13!! Before september 1st, for sure! The dress came to my mum's house so she's gonna wash it and then it'll be all ready for Feather!

Thats awesome news for you too! I cant wait to see the tail, I looooove mermaids (and mermen) so it sounds so cool!!

 

That reminds me, @SacredMonsoon, were you able to get Snow (name? ) a new body? I remember you mentioning something along that line. And if so, what body were you thinking about getting? I have to admit, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing her on a body of her own!

Sternauge's tail is coming along slowly. Its a prototype, so I'm thinking out how to create it before I use fancier (more expensive!) fabric to make him a better tail.

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 I do have plans for Snow to get a body! I want a zaoll body for her, and since its fairly well priced, I think we might get it for Christmas! Its a bit up in the air at the moment due to moving funds and new houses and stuff, but I too am looking forward to her getting a body and a faceup!

Seems like its time for the "summer slowdown" of this thread, so I'm going to ramble a bit. I just ordered Noriko an outfit and some sandals that DDE had in stock, along with other off topic stuff, and I can't wait for them to arrive! Its only been an hour, but still!

Yes, I'm hoping so @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 @IngieBee! Its more that with moving and lots of expenses because of it might not allow for saving for a bit. But i'm going to try my best to get her the body and then a faceup.

 

I’ve ended up ordering a couple of outfits too, to cheer up the summer slow down. And a body for my nanuri 06 floating head! I’m super excited about that! It’ll be nice to have a boy with my three girls. It’ll be a couple of months before it ships, but it’s still exciting.

Heya all! I've missed this thread so much. But I foolishly sold off my Delf heads a few years ago and regretted it ever since. Buuuuut, I just picked up a sleeping Soo Head and I'm so happy to be able to join in on the thread again. ^^ Now I just gotta get her a body... but you know.... details.

 

Well I had WTB post for a WS delf Soony and I got a response! Unfortunately the money I had set aside had to go for unexpected car repairs before I got the response but luckily I am getting a large check in a couple of weeks and the seller is willing to wait for that! I can't wait! Been wanting Soony for many years now and everytime I have money I see no Soonys for sale and when I see one I have no money and it sells very quickly. There were quite a few WTB posts wanting delf Soony but I notice buyers only willing to pay what Soony sold for or less. Soony is my grail so I value her a lot more than that especially since she was discontinued years ago. The seller had no intention of selling her Soony before seeing myWTB post, but when she saw my generous offer she decided to help make my dream for Soony come true!

I know there are Fairyland versions of some of the old Delfs but even the SD sized ones of Fairyland's versions look very different to me. What does everyone else think of the Fairyland versions of Delf girls?

 

Ohh! Was that one on Instagram? I had seen her for like some crazy amazing price, but I forced myself to ignore her. I just bought a second (very dirty) El! Welcome back!!

 

Yea, my best friend saw her the moment she was put up and helped me get her asap! She's going to need a lot of work, the first thing on her agenda is going to be an oxy bath. Then the debate between modding her myself and sending her out. I recently did an OE mod on another older doll I had and it turned out great.... but with Soo being so rare, I'm not sure I'm able to tackle that one on my own.

 

AlmySidaKay, Is the oxybath just for removing dirt or does that help with deyellowing?

 

She's beautiful, and very rare! You're lucky to have her! I'm not sure that it will take the yellow out. A bunch of my boys were really yellow and I've had to sand them, and even still there are places that you can see the yellow poking out if you look pretty hard. My El is the biggest one that makes me giggle, I bought him thinking that he was a really banana yellow NS El. But when I started sanding him, he's WS! She's gorgeous anyway, congrats!!

 

I've had some decent success at deyellowing other dolls of the same age via oxybath, just gotta leave them in there for a few days.

Also, does anyone know where the most recent Soony who was a dreaming head in WS? I think, was on eBay. Just curious who had been bidding against me. And who won her haha

Me being able to get Noriko an outfit and shoes I had been eyeing for a while now was very fortuitous!

Yeah, I know how that feels, @blackdahlia. It seems like whenever you have the money, you can't find your grail, and when you're broke or need your saved money to pay on a big bill, there your grail is. bleah.

Congrats on being able to find your Soony! I also want one, but I'd settle for just the head since I want to make mine into a boy. I'm not really looking right now, but if one comes up and I find the money....

I have a couple of older CP dolls that were re-made by Fairyland, but they're MSDs. Maybe because I got them soon after the CP team moved to FL, they seem to look pretty much like classic Delf. At least my Shiwoo does. I'm not sure about my Breakaway MSD, since he's my only one. My newest, a LittleFee Shiwoo boy that I got on July 17th, has the classic Shiwoo "sweet but slightly mischievous smile."

Congrats on the "very dirty El," @Angelesk! I've always wanted an El, but my partner has one, so I live vicariously through theirs.

I've heard of giving dolls an oxybath in order to de-yellow them, but tbh, many of my Crew are supposed to be Japanese, so I don't mind it so much. But it is something to consider. The oxybath doesn't weaken the resin in any way? That is my biggest fear.

I took the completed boys out yesterday, I still have Vale who is a dreaming El who is awaiting a donut piece for his head so he can be reconnected to his body. He'll hopefully be able to have a photoshoot soon too. But for now here are my boys..

I hope your donut comes soon! I can't wait to see Vale all strung up! I ordered one during my last maintenance order, but it took a little longer to get here (from the time it was shipped) due to an unfortunate address mishap.

And thank you! Making his wig was super fun. I've always wanted to have another go at flocking (I haven't done it in over a year, since I used to do MH repaints!) and with all of the extra alpaca I have from his first wig, It was easy to chop up a couple strands without having to dye another batch.

I thought that you flocked her wig! It looks great!! I have zero wig making talent and when I tried flocking...it was a tiny hair disaster. Soony is such a cute sculpt though, she really can rock any hair style! Please continue to post pictures of her, I have to live through your beauitful Soony since I don't think I'll ever get one for myself. (Not that I won't try...)

I'm not too active here, either, simply because forums are a little too slow for me most days haha. I do love seeing all of the gorgeous dolls here, though, everyone is so talented! Sometimes forums like this are nice because you can really say so much and see so much at your own pace. I also enjoy seeing a lot of the older members of the dolly community, because they tend to have the most original face-ups, like your own! Hard to find that kind of aesthetic elsewhere.

Thank you for all of the love though! I only have Soony from pure luck during a google search for her sculpt! Soony was my grail for so long, so I'm glad I have an equally cute character to shell with her (despite the awkward gender/sex issues with having such a busty body for a NB character haha). I've already gotten a few people asking if I would let them know if I ever sold her, and Amyas has only been with me since February.

I have a Soony Elf from FairyLand. I have been dreaming about Delf Soony for many years, and when I saw the Juri 2014 Soony Elf event head on sale, I immediately purchased it. However, it does not fully meet my expectations. Delfs remain more attractive. I like their faces and bodies much better, despite their limited mobility.

 

I must agree @NadinCat, delf bodies are beautiful. I love them even though their poses aren't the best. I think Feather will always be my precious favourite.

 

Got my new Soo head in today. She's absolutely adorable. For a few moments after I got her out of the box I was feeling a bit intimidated because of how much work she will need done plus I wasn't sure if I could really recreate Deni, but then I put her old wig on her and it was like she was right back to where she had been. Now the big questions like, should I do the eye mod on my own as I've done some in the past and they have turned out great. Or do I send it to someone to mod. And if I do send her out, how do I pick the best one? There are so many options now days for that kind of stuff it makes me a little anxious even thinking about it. >.<

Deni isn't completely camera read so I probably won't take photos of her immediately. But anyways! Tl: dr Deni is still awesome once again. ^^

I currently have 2 standard Els and one Dreaming El. One Standard Shiwoo and one Modded Vampire Shiwoo and a Floating head Dark Elf Soo.

 

She's lovely! I love how mature the scupt is as a delf.

My Delf collection began with really really wanting a 2005 Juri & a couple of friends who were shifting to other dolls about the time I discovered bjds. My friends surprised me with gifts of a couple old dolls & sold me a couple others.
First I was given a modded Vampire Elf Y'der. Flirty Pearl with the Pepstar faceup, lavender eyes & the infamous greenish beauty white resin was the second Delf to join me. Then more Juri's began to find me (& it was hard to say no!!). Later an Angel Elf Soo, Shiwoo,El, & an Elf Lishe joined the elven clan known as the Undershelf Delfs (As their great hall is under my doll table). ;D
A Fairyland Jury, Soony & some Little fee kids with pointed ears, Maskcat vampire Lisette, plus a Minimee one of a kind elf are the rest of the clan.
I love the sculpt style of the old Delf's & there's no way I would have been able to collect even one of them when they were first released so having their company now really amazes me.
My summer quarantine chore has been getting new clothes made for the guys so that everyone will be dressed in medieval style for a bit. They don't change clothes as often now that it isn't just one or two dolls to play with...

I love their coordinated style. I'm sure it makes it easier to make clothing for them. I'm still figuring my girls style.
