CP Delf Discussion Part 11

@Angelesk one of my favourite things about Lishe is that she can rock almost anything... but I think there is too much glitter there too. Welcome to the Lishe club, btw.
(And I completely agree with all the comments about AngelToast and her ability... that's why over half my collection has been Toasted!)

And since we were talking before/afters - here's an old set of my VE Lishe, Nemain. (before and after she visited AngelToast).

I am so terrible at IDing sculpts, I picked up a Nanuri 07 thinking it was Luwen on Buyee. But I did see a bunch of really nice Delfs got snapped up at their buyout price. Someone here say they bought them!

Nanuri07 and Luwen look REALLY similar. I bought one of the dreaming Els that was listed. I'm watching a really DIRTY open eyed one too. I was trying to wait until my Husband got paid to make any moves.
I did see that there are a TON of old Delfs with boxes listed for anywhere between $760+. I can't afford any of those right now due to...umm...I'm too cheap.
That's really it.

 

If you wanted it, you needed to bid! I was the only bidder for him, I was surprised. It’s nice to know you got one of the Els. Those listings were so hard to see, those dolls were really nice. I can’t wait until my boy shows up and I can get him a nice faceup.

I had a Luwen that I really regret selling now, it's such a beautiful sculpt. But you'll love the Nanuri too!
The Els were both really hard to see, the one I bought looks like he's either needing a neck piece or on a msd (?) body. He looks strange, but I figured for the price I could determine what was wrong when I got him.

Congrats @Pandy even if it did turn out to be a case of mistaken identity Can't wait to see what you do with him! I couldn't resist and had a quick look to see what dolls were still up, no Woosoo so my wallet is safe.

It was a pretty incredible change - given that you couldn't actually see her vampire teeth in the original faceup. At the time I had started to doubt that she actually was an Elf Vampire and thought that she was just a Dreaming Elf. But when she was cleaned and repainted, her teeth reappeared!

It took me quite a few years to find an unmodded Dreaming Elf, but I finally did on Yahoo!Japan, and I got really lucky - I paid about US$250 for her!

If you don't mind me asking, what eyes are both of your dreaming girls wearing? I was going to order some Soom silicone eyes, but the shipping on the was as much as the eyes were but I love how bright and soft they look!
I love Yahoo Japan too!1! I'm quickly getting really addicted.

Got Kairi back a couple of days ago. I was waiting on new eyes and a wig for him. The eyes came in, a pair of Mako eyes and his wig should be here on Monday. Took the time to restring him this morning. His arms were ridiculously floppy. His legs were fine, though, oddly enough. Arms are still a bit loose but not to the extent they were.

Also been playing around with the DSLR camera I inherited from my dad when he died last year. It's not a highly-advanced thing (no touch screen or anything like that) and there's no manual to tell me what setting is best for what type of picture, so it's sort of I teach myself as I go.

Thanks. Um, Nemain (my Elf Vamp) is wearing what my reference file refers to as "white acrylic" eyes (no idea where I got them!); the two end girls are wearing Ersa Floras, and my other Dreaming girl, is wearing mismatched pupil-less glass eyes I found on eBay. The middle girl is wearing Leekeworld purple glass, I think.

Here's a couple of VERY quick and dirty cellphone snaps (neighbors' dogs were raising hell) of my Dreaming Shiwoo head with MNF Shiwoo just coincidentally hanging out. He's actually an elf version but the hair hides the ears.

 

Those eyes are so pretty! I have several glass eye sets, but mine never look this pretty!!

@Stormlight, the way you have Kairi lit, I thought he was a Tanning Shiwoo at first. He's just gorgeous! It sounds like you have your work cut out for you with the camera, after all, you have to take practice pics of your Delf collection, right?

@Reshana, what a stunning pair! I have a Elf MNF Shiwoo as well, he's the 16 year old version of Ryuichi. His hair hides his elf ears. I love your boy's apple green eyes!

Hraban, my BG Dreaming Shiwoo is currently trying on a pair of pants I'm making for him. Unfortunately, I'm well out of practice with making pants, and doing them by hand means mistake time. I'm hoping I can figure out what I did wrong and then fix them, so wish me luck!

I've had both just sitting around, so when I tried Adrastos' old wig on him, his faceup really popped. So Hraban gets to keep it. It was a wig I threw together, so I need to tweak that as well so the grid/base (?) doesn't show up in pics. oops. The purple eyes with the red irises also seems to enhance his faceup coloring, so those are his too. Its so cool to see my '80s hardcore Goth boy coming together!

Anybody care to share their fave photos of your delf babies?

 

Kairi’s wig came in and I’m still trying to decide if I like it or not. I love the color and texture, but on the other hand it’s quite a bit shorter than I’d pictured. His head is bigger than the doll it was shown on, so what was shaggy on her is like uber-short on him. I’ve always pictured his character with shaggier hair but, I dunno, this wig is kind of growing on me. It’s too small, even being an 8/9 with a stretchy cap. He has to wear a silicon cap under it or else it shoots right off his head. lol

Oh thank you! Yeah, I’m kind of liking it, too. I did muss it a bit, but I’ll have to dig out a comb and see about getting it a bit fluffier. I like the texture, it’s like fur or mohair so it’s easy to style. The more I look at it the more I think it really suits him.

 

Honestly, @Stormlight, I think it suits Kairi. He looks pretty proud to me in that pic. It really brings out his eyebrows. But, if it helps so his wig doesn't go flying off, Shiwoo usually wear 9-10 sized wigs.

Speaking of Shiwoo and wigs, I need to fix Hraban's wig so that it fits him better. He has the opposite problem, a too-large wig. I took a bit out of it, but its still too big, so I need to take a good look at it and see what I can do to improve the fit without getting rid of the Siouxsie and the Banshees-ness of it.

Oh, I finished his 1980s-style Goth pants! It still needs to be washed, ironed and I need to find a nice, spiky dog collar belt for the oversized loops I deliberately added, but for the most part, I'm pretty happy with how these pants turned out. All the pockets really work, including the watch pocket.

Oh my god, I think it's been an entire year, maybe more, since I was on DoA! I have so much more at-home time now that I'm getting into all kinds of social media that I neglected while work was killing me. I'm back on Twitter, Tumblr, and now DoA! It's so good to see everyone's Delfs! I've taken some pictures of my girls recently, I'll have to upload them to Flickr so I can post them. Would anyone like to do a Delf Zoom meeting? We could just hang out, drink some tea, show off our dolls? Just a thought. I miss seeing people's faces!

I'm afraid I can't zoom at the moment, no computer but it does sound fun, I'm currently away from my dolls too... so no fun for me.

How is everyone doing? Staying safe?

 

@gelfling21 (my partner) and I are doing just great! They're currently playing with our 1/2 Maine Coon kitten (who's actually 3 years old) while I type this between figuring out what I want to do next to Hraban's 1980s style Goth shirt. We're both definitely staying safe, watching streaming stuff (I hand-sew while I watch), working out of home and ordering doll-related stuff online.

I have to admit, I 'm going to hate it when things go more normal.

The other option would be to make a meetup thread and put the poll there with a link to the thread here. An outside link might give us more control though.

 

I finished Hraban's skull shirt, and due to mistakes I had to work around, it came out better than I originally planned. But now, he has a full outfit of his own that I made.

I'm interested in joining a CP Zoom meetup, and so is my partner, @gelfling21. But, I know that free Zoom is only for around 40 minutes of chat time. I think that, if someone else volunteers as host before the 40 minutes us up, the clock starts all over again. I'm not sure, but I read an article on it a couple of weeks ago. You might want to look into it.

Amidst all this chaos that's been going on, I found something to celebrate: I finally have my holy grail outfit for Bambi! I've been coveting one for at least 5+ years and I got soo lucky when popped up in an auction.

I know what its like to want a grail outfit and finally get it. I wanted a fer for Noriko for a long time, and when she got it, I'm pretty sure I danced around the house!

"Nameless" looks really sweet, @SacredMonsoon! Are you going to give her a different color scheme than Feather? Like lavender or sky blue? The contrast would look pretty cool!

I'm looking at Noriko's future LBD and trying to figure out what I want to do first. I really think that this is going to be a challenge for beginner-me. Its a good thing that I'm stubborn and determined.

I was going to steal her body for my AES head and yeet her heads but she has other plans. She has a dreaming head that I'm pretty sure has basically never seen the light of day - It's whiter than the OE head and body and there's 0 eye putty residue in the eyewells. That I might pass along since I'm almost certainly never going to use it but who knows lol.

She's gorgeous.
