CP Delf Discussion Part 10

Jun 20, 2016

    1. Will you be doing his faceup yourself, @revien? He's going to be awesome, I'm sure!!!

    2. Your Soony is gorgeous,@malvinas :) Can I ask if she's wearing 18mm or 20mm eyes? I've been struggling between the two for my Soony.
Wishing everybody a happy new year, btw

    3. Ooops, wrong tag, @cocobash1019 :D Wish she were mine, but she belongs to @malvinas :D ^^^ Maybe she can answer your question :D

    4. whoops! Got mixed up since the original post was a reply from her to you :doh edited my comment to tag her instead, my bad! :XD: thank you for correcting me.

    5. LOL, Just couldn't answer the question if I wanted to

    6. @cocobash1019 they are 20mm glass eyes from Luts! They are actually the eyes she came with from them and they worked so well for her I've never had her try anything else.

    7. Wow, nice! Those eyes are stunning!

    8. Thanks so much for the info :) they definitely suit her, the green really compliments her wig and the colors in her faceup!

    9. I got my first BJD a few days ago! He is a Delf CP Shine and I LOVE him!! :D I don't have any pics to show yet, but hopefully I will soon :whee: Just wanted to share my excitement.

    10. @manatiel congrats! I can't wait to see him once you get some photos! Shine is one of the dolls I've always regretted not getting!

    11. Happy new year everyone! Just dropping by to show off one of my two El's, Cordi :XD:

    12. Were there ever any tan El's made?

    13. They did at Luts, although I can't find the listing anymore. Later they were available for order in tan skin via a la carte on Fairyland.

    14. @malvinas thanks! i'm just waiting for his new eyes to come down and then I'm gonna try get some decent shots heh :whee:

      @CMBato they're lovely! I love their wig especially :D

    15. @manatiel I'd love to see him once he's ready! Getting your first BJD is seriously one of the best feelings haha

@CMBato He's beautiful! Love that wig color so much :D

    16. @CMBato your El is so gorgeous and stylish! Time to see #2 :D

Congratulations, @manatiel ! Looking forward to your posting a picture :)

    17. Congrats @manatiel !! Shines are so cute!!

I love tan El's, or just El's in general! They're such beauties!

    18. Nifty! Grats on getting your first resin minion. ^_^

Shines are cool dudes, even though you don't see them around all that often. He's a pretty rare sculpt... Most of the later CP/Delfs are like that, especially compared to some of their super-"everywhere" older sculpts (Like El-).

    19. Question: I’ve been out of the hobby for YEARS now. I have a super old el dreaming head (type 1) that I never got around to purchasing a body for. I read that the current Luts resin won’t match the old resin anymore. Anyone know any good body matches for him? Sorry if this question has been ask a million times already.

    20. @dorkurz I've heard Fdoll's normal skin (not pink) matches the old delfs. Also waiting for an old delf body to pop up on the marketplace is an option, I've seen them every now and then, usually pretty cheap. Maybe some other people here have some more suggestions :)

    21. @dorkurz I had my old NS El (probably from 2006-ish) on Pureskin NS (non-UV) Volks SD13 body and that worked very well.
Both the head and body were slightly yellowed.
You can always try adding a few layers of white/pale pink pastel when you do their face-up to lighten the skin as well.
My Cordi (picture above) is on an older NS Switch body ('13) and because of the heavy sealant you can't really tell the skin difference in photos.
Alternatively there are old skin Delf bodies in the marketplace for sale sometimes.

    22. @dorkurz welcome back to the hobby! I remember you from years and years ago! As far as what body will work I do have an fdoll body that is an okay match for some of my old CP Delfs but my fdoll body is many years old now. It also depends on how yellowed your El is. My Soony, for example, is much yellower than my Lishe or my Dreaming Shiwoo. My Soony doesn't match the body well but my Lishe is a decent match.

And speaking of my dreaming shiwoo... here is a picture of my favorite boy, Andrien <3

Posted here because I'm curious if the only flickr images that are broken are images that were posted before today.

I generally don't like posting dolls before their make up, but I just finished restringing this boy and have a few questions about the Type 1 body. Were kicky legs a relatively common issue? I only had Volks string lying around which is clearly much thicker then what's intended for this body and his legs are constantly bending at the knee - to the point where standing is a test of patience.

Just curious if switching string is even a worthwhile endevour.

    25. @revien oh! Even without a faceup he is gorgeous! And yes... while I don't have a type 1 boy, my type 1 Soony has always been very kicky. I am always very cautious when standing her up because she likes to fight me and decide her legs need to bend when I really don't want them to.

    26. @revien Yup, that kick is classic old Delf. All of my boys have it. I’ve found either a bit of hot glue sueding or small kips do absolute wonders. My Yder can stand comfortably by themself with their hot glue sueding. I recommend it for all Delfs. I have mine mostly strung with Volks elastic as well; I like the thicker elastic than what they had all come with, but any size elastic will have the same issue.

    27. I figured - I remember reading something about their kicky bodies years ago but wasn't quite sure. I get the feeling he's going to be a sleepy chair boy anyway.

    28. @malvinas, Andrien is such a cutie! :D Love his little nose.

@revien, Ahhhh, your guy is looking wonderful! His outfit is perfect for a sleepy chair boy ;)

If anyone is on the hunt for a rare doll, there's a Jess with his OE and SP heads listed on Y!J right now! It would be lovely if he found his forever home with someone from DoA ;) ;) ;)

    29. Oh, that outfit is wonderful! He almost doesn't need a faceup, he's so cute!

    32. Definitely less creepy than my faceapp'd Lishe, @malvinas LOL :D

I must have read too fast and missed that it was your birthday! Happy Belated Birthday to you, @SacredMonsoon! I hope your day was fantastic and the rest of the month is magical!

    33. Thanks so much @malvinas and @IngieBee!! My day was really good!! I got a lot of star wars things! Hehehe :)

    34. Whomever isn't happy to get Star Wars things is not human :D Congratulations, @SacredMonsoon :D

May I ask for dolly spam please??

    36. A bit late, but happy birthday! Here is some delf spam. And also another Star Wars thing for you xD

    37. It's AWESOME! Love it when even the dolls get in on the fan fun :D And she's so darn cute! Thank you for the picture!

I just took a quick snapshot of my giirls. I only have Lishe as a regular CP/Delf. The other two are Juri heads. Left is Juri 07b who was my first SD doll, and Juri 05. I'm going to have to change Juri07b's wig, It's not flattering what she has on :(

    38. @IngieBee I love your Juri 05! She is one of those sculpts I love looking at but don't think I will ever own since I don't have any characters in my SD storylines that would have elf ears. I'll just sit here admiring them when others share theirs. If you would share more pictures of her I'd love to see!

    39. Thank you @malvinas :D I have gone realistic/Iplehouse/Impldoll mostly, but I will always love CP/Fairyland etc... I have many and they all look beautiful together, and can even be with the more realistic dolls, IMO since I like mixed styles. If only I had stories I could limit myself, but the lack of stories has caused me to have no dolly control. It's super good you have storylines to follow :D

Instead of helping me, I have a favorite book and I want to shell the characters in it, but none of my existing dolls fit (except the one i recently got to fit one of the characters, LOL. So instead of limiting me, I'm going to be enabled to buy more dolls once my dolly diet ends in 2020 :D

On the upside, my dolly diet and desire to create dolls from this book is making me look harder at fitting character faces :D And it's fun :D

    40. @IngieBee fitting dolls to characters is definitely fun I agree! Sometimes it is nice to have a doll just because it is pretty though. That's why I have my Kid Delf Muhwa. She's my only doll without a character. I have her mostly so I can dress her in all the pretty ruffly pink dresses my dolls with characters would never wear lol

    41. That's so cute! I love Blue! Thank you for the pictures!!!

    42. Now that I've up an gone all in SD, I definitely need to turn my MSDs into pre teens and make them frilly cute :D

    43. Thank you! haha, yes, my dolls are all big geeks like me and love the fan stuff xD Your girls look gorgeous together :D

      Blue says thank you!

    44. Thank you, @Hyzenthlay. I can't wait to do better pictures of them with better weather :)

    45. Hi! I hope you don't mind me asking, but I have a question, for those who own older Type 1 Delfs:
Do all sculpts have their name carved inside the head?

(I received a Lishe head that looks just like my other Lishe, though I noticed the "Cerberus Project" wording wasn't quite as crisp and there was no sculpt name anywhere inside. All my other CP Delfs have their name inside, so I'm wondering if it is possibly recast.)

    46. I don't have a Lishe, but I have a 2004/5 Elf Lishe type 1, also an Elf El, Type 1, and 2005 Juri... None of them have the sculpt name in the head that I can see... just a rectangular CP stamp by the neck-hole. Nothing in the headcap.

      • x 1
    47. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that the very early casts of the sculpts did not have their names carved on the insides, and given april has provided supporting information, it might be okay.

      • x 1
    48. The oldest don't seem to have the sculpt written inside their heads. My oldest Lishes only have "Cerberus Project TM" stamped inside.

Here's one of my oldest girls, who I think is from around 2005, probably earlier:

If you like, I can check some of the girls I have with specific dates - I have some from 2005 and 2006 with specific dates (Delf Arts and Elves etc.) But from my other photos, by 2005 they had added the sculpt name. I have a photo of the inside of my Elf Vampire Lishe head from 2005, and she has "Lishe Elf L2" inside her head. The photo can be found here.

I found some of my other photos - my F60 Lishe has "Lishe (c) CP 2012"; my Elf 06 has "Lishe", and a Type 2 Lishe from approx 2008 has "Lishe 1-1".

So that to me says that as long as it's not a Type 2 without a sculpt name, and the CP name looks more like a stamp, it probably should be alright.

    49. @TeaPartyRevolution --That picture is similar to my early CP dolls.

Sorry I didn't take any photos... I was being lazy! :sweat

I might have more Type1 dolls... I'll have to check...

      Don't type2s without the neck lock, look like type1's though? (I don't know--I only have type1s.)

    50. I don't think there are type 2s without the neck lock, though, are there? Everything before the neck lock was type 1.

    51. Hmmm... I thought you could remove the neck lock? Maybe not--I don't own one, so I can't really tell!

    52. @april - fairly sure all the Type 2s have the neck mechanism. I think it's only Type 1s without, most of my Delfs are Type 2s. (I didn't take any photos either... these are photos from previous conversations and head swops from when I was proving that the F60 head was no smaller than the Delf releases, even back as far as 2006).

Although, I just had a search through my photos for my only other possible Type 1, my Delf Art Dear My Lady - and it looks like I have had the conversation about the sculpt names inside heads before (given the comments that went with this photo on Flickr!) - the link I posted earlier, for my Elf Vampire Lishe - I forgot to mention she is also a Type 1, released in Jan 2005, and she has her sculpt name in her head.

This is the inside of my Dear My Lady Lishe, released in August 2005, she's a Type 1 (considering the mess inside her head and that lip at the top, which Type 2s don't have - they also have VERY different headbacks, without that "hump" shape around the ears you can see on my other image), but there is the sculpt name and the OE marking "1-1". I can always check my two other Delf Arts (I have Perennis and Lupinnus as well) to see if they're Type 1 or 2 and their markings.

I also briefly checked my Dreaming, who I thought may have been a Type 1, but she's a Type 2. Interestingly enough, she has "Lishe" marked four times inside her head and head cap (along with the Dreaming "1-2").

Note - there's a picture here of two Juris which show the massive different between Type 1s and Type 2s in regards to head shape - the Type 2 has a flat cut, while the Type 1 has "bumps" over the ears.

I can still check my other Type 1s/Type 2s for the sculpt name, I have a few others, but I think it's reasonably easy to presume considering the dates of the Elf 05 Lishes (Jan 2005), that that was around the time they started writing the sculpt name inside the heads.

    53. Yeah, type 1 and type 2 heads are very different. Not only the bumps over the ears were removed (so the head cap twists on and can lock in place), but the neck hole varies greatly because of the neck locking mechanism. There is also no loop under the head cap to hold the S hook on as it’s no longer needed.

The other difference is the torso joint on the female body was moved from mid-torso to the hip line instead.

The lock can be removed to turn a type 2 body to a type 1, so a type 1 head can fit on it. But a type 2 head would need some kind of modification to work with an S hook.

One thing I was disappointed with is that Luts never changed Dark Elf Soo to type 2. Her tanned version was type 2, but they never made her white or normal skin version that way. It was weird.

      • x 1
    54. They DID have plans for it. I asked them in December of 2006 if they were going to make DES in type 2 and they said "yes, this coming summer!"

I am guessing that the whole CP/Luts/Fairyland issues started to creep up and it just never happened.

    55. Thank you very much, everyone, for the input! :) Previously I only ever owned Type 2's and 3's, and the other Type 1's I have also have their name. It just happened that the head must be a tad older. Strangely, though, it looks distinctly more pink-toned compared to my other older NS dolls (who are VERY yellow in tone), which was another thing I questioned. (Perhaps it has been treated for yellowing?)

    56. I think the resin tones used to vary a lot in those early batches. I've seen some early CPs that were very pink... at least... they were pink way back then! I'd have thought the pink would have faded over time, though, but I'm not sure. ALL my CPs are bw, so I couldn't really say.

    57. My Miyu's head and headcap both have the markings of MIYU 1-1 written inside. I bought her 2006 from Luts. I didn't have access to my Elf Yders as I have a visitor and her bed is on the way. I have Yder Elf boys, Juri 05, DES, Moon and my sisters Tanning Lishe. My boyfriend also has few different ones. Moon and modded Soo as well as a Shiwoo, I think he is a dreaming boy with human ears.
