Chibi Unoa discussion part 3

How do the dots work with the eyemech? Does it help? Because right now I'm ready to toss mine out of the car window and run over it a few times. Nothing I do makes her have straight eyes....

I suppose I could just take it out and add it to the penis box. But then what would I complain about?

Come to think of it, the dots are for the eyemech that comes with Unoas, not Chibis - the unoa eyemech has an upright metal rod through each eye, and the bottom end of the rod rests in the dot or dimple in order for the eyes to swivel around the rod.

Neither style of eyemech work particularly well, as far as I have found, but then I don't tend to make much use of them in my Unoa or my Chibis.

I finally got my Narsha clothes from Dollmore. The jeans are just a touch short, but otherwise fit well. The shoes I have are tall enough to mask the shortness of the pants.
I got a couple of sweaters, and they fit well though the sleeves are a touch long - not a big deal as they are sweaters and expected to be long in the arm, plus they scrunch up just fine.
I also got a short sleeved hoodie, and that was snug to get on, but looks great on! A really good fit.
We've switched to a grey fur wig, and think he may be either an Amos or an Andy. Still no faceup.

Well that makes more sense. I never even looked at my B-el's eye mech...I just tossed it in with the penises.
Is that what the extra wire is for? Oh wait, I got that with Lilin too....

Omg. Now I want more penises to stick in all my dolls' heads!

It's good to know the clothes fit...my Lilin is the girliest of girls and won't wear pants ever, but you never know when I might get the urge to make her a boy. If I manage to get the other chest piece. Still there might be something at DM I could add to my never-ending wishlist for my girl....

I don't have photos of mine either - her wonky eyes keep the cameras away.

 

Hmm... perhaps some Chibis have the old Unoa eyemech and some have the one my girls have - perhaps we need some eyemech photos for comparison purposes.....

I don't think any of my Chibis came with a different style of eye-mech from my older Unoas -- but I had one of the first-produced Chibis (my other two are secondhand, but one was from the first pre-order and I don't know when the second was made), so if AL changed it to a newer model, they may have done it in later production.

I never use it, though, so it's possible I overlooked it -- they seem pretty different, though.

I bought fabrics today to make my Chibi Roron some clothes! It'll still be a while before I get hands on her though, so I guess I'll have to use measurements and keep things loose until I can fit them properly to her.

Do any of you sew for your Chibis? I need measurements I can't seem to find on the Wiki. I'll give you folks a list, but its kind of a long list... Sorry!

This is for the Hannari Body, and I've filled in what I've got so far:

ARGH! Looks like Noppin's Unoa annex is closing, and now the only North American Unoa distributor will be a distributor of "B-grade" (imperfect) Unoa dolls! T_T And just when I was hoping to get a Chibi too... now I need to pay more for a worse-quality doll, especially with the horrible CAD-USD rate!

I guess it's a good thing I'll be living in Japan for 4 months next year... might have to grab myself a Chibi then.

 

Hey KittyFields! Will you be living in a major city in Japan? You might be able to go to a doll event and get one in person!

 

Sadly I'm way off in Akita. But I'm hoping to travel when school finishes in August. I definitely plan to attend Wonderfest, which is a major toy festival. Where are Unoas normally sold in Japan?

 

Unoas are usually sold at doll events such as doll show (tokyo) and dollsmyth (osaka), this is the only way to purchase one in person. Then there are order periods in their webshop, but they can be sporadic and a little tricky to get a hold of, even when living in Japan. At least you'll have access to yahoo auctions and other places too!

I wonder how long it will be before Unoalchemy is able to sell parts. I ordered a Chibi Roron, but she only comes with the default plate and hands.

 

Don't know, but I did read somewhere that they do plan to sell option parts eventually.

Does anyone have a link to galleries or pics of the chibi unoa faceplates with the names attached to each one? UnoAlchemy just has a bunch of pictures and then a list off to one side. I can't tell which one is what. Or whom. And they are very small pictures.

 

I can't help you with better photos, but Unoafreaks on tumblr lists the Lilin and Roron faceplates according to the photos.

Juju wanted to show off her new toy. I can't remember if I shared her in the bunny 9 dress, but here she is again if I did. I've got some tights coming in the mail from the bunny 9 line, I'm hoping they will stretch enough to fit her hips.

Ooh, I just noticed that Alchemic Labo has a bunch of Chibi face plates in stock and it seems you can order them through Noppin's shopping service. For anyone browsing on the Alchemic Labo website for face plates, if you have a Fresh Skin Unoa go for the plates with the pink sidebar in their pictures. The purple sidebar is fairy skin.

 

Thanks everyone! I might not have time to take pics until tonight, but I got some lovely gifts in the box! I now have the sleeping face and the "polite/prim" face, and the clasped hands! EE! Now all I need is a roar face, the fist hands, and the open flat hands. She also came with a lovely little pair of pink shoes. Wig and acrylic eyes seem to be included.

So far the only B Grade flaws I can see are a very few teeny dust flecks in the resin, and none of those are in the faceplates.

Yes, the po. When we got Cari it took us a bit to figure out what Po meant. We then about died laughing. Seriously.

I keep it in my drawer with the misc resin bits. And I still laugh.
