Tappin I hope that approach will help your teeth feel better. I am really bad about grinding my teeth in my sleep. Every time I forget to wear that stupid teeth guard at night I end up with another root canal before long. It definitely helps my jaw feel less tense, though. Cricket says she is sending you a tooth fairy with plenty of Repairing Dust.

Back to work for me, the dolls are yelling.

 

The Kelly dolls are my dummies to try on the clothes and shoes. I don't need the brainless head and sometimes only one leg works better. The doll with the pink hair isn't chopped but went to the UK. The foot is really handy and strong so for cobblers better to use than our precious FF feet.
Normally I am calm and patient, but once in a while it is extremely satisfying to chop a Kelly and decapitate a Shelly........sorry.

Does anyone else use photobucket? I can get into the site and put old photos on here but I cant edit to resize new photos. I am not sure if it is me or them. I tried the flickr download but when I click the share nothing comes up. Is it a right or left click for that. Frustrating much! I had to go to imageshack for the halloween photos after 2 days of annoying but I cant save them there.

 

Still better as of now! YAY! I'm still kind of Zombi-ish in that it seems like the pain killer has not worn off yet. I took a Looooooong nap today. But anyway, at least it is feeling better.

Yes but also if you press the picture button above, you must delete the http and paste directly the Flickr BB code and sometimes you just take a one step bigger picture to get it right. I am a disaster with photobucket so I cannot give advice, but the Flickr pictures work well

 

I am totally stumped about what to get for Christmas swap. I want to make something but I can't make a decision what. Hopefully I'll figure it out tomorrow.
Guess what! I was rear-ended at a traffic light today for the second time in less than a year!!! Curses to people using cell phones while driving. I'm fine, my car has moderate damage but I'm just really sore, nothing else. The medics strapped me to a back-board and put me in a cervical collar, popped me in the ambulance and left me in the hospital room staring at the ceiling. After 30 minutes of this I started to feel SICK and here I am strapped down like Frankenstein. So, like Frankenstein, I finally had to rip the straps off and sit up or it would have been bad news. I came to the realization I would make a very bad spinal injury patient as the restraints they put you in make me feel really claustrophobic. I had to try to remain calm to not freak out from the darn cervical collar! They're horrid!

So I'm back at home and Cricket is giving me lots of attention... and I'm going to watch Cranford with hubby and doggies and tea and dolls. Might as well milk this for all it's worth because tomorrow I'll have to clean the horse stalls, lol

I wish I could hear DollZ play... I bet it's so beautiful.

Oh Ginnie, how awful, did they hit you from behind? take care for your neck, the collar is indeed very burdensome but they have to check you first before you rip the collar off.......oh sorry you make me giggle now, I can picture you with a screw in your neck and scars............sorry it is Halloween after all. I hope Cricket is now taking care and kick your behind if you are working instead of resting. Your body have to release the stress hormones first before you are allowed to do more as snacking and drinking, though alcohol is considered not done.

Oh Ginnie!!! I'm so sorry for you!!! My husband, who is a physician, said that if you were tied down for 30 minutes unobserved that is malpractice! Thats horrible! No Imajica, you don't do left or right click. You click on the picture you want to copy...when you get the larger picture with your info on the right side, you click the "SHARE THIS" tab right above it. A drop down menu should come up. Inside that drop down menu click on "Grab the HTML/BBCode" You'll see a box of code...down below that box there is the place you choose the size and below that is two little buttons. It will probably be on the button that says HTML but you want to click the button beside BBCODE. Then you copy the code in the box and then just paste it in here. You don't have to click the insert picture thingamabobber here on the board...just paste that BBCODE directly in here.

Hi, gang! Many thanks to you for your kind words of consolation over the death of my Tristan last week. He'd been sick for some time but had been putting up a pretty good fight until a few weeks ago. Last week he let me know he could no longer fight and I had to make that most difficult of decisions. I got Tris and his brother, Selkie (who died last year, two weeks to the date before Tris), around the time I learned I was fully disabled, and they were my companions through my illness and saw me through a lot, including cancer and the deaths of both of my parents. Sometimes they were the only thing that kept me going. I no longer have any immediate family, and my closest friends and assorted other relatives all very sensibly moved out of this area long ago (it really does get harder to make close friends the older you get, and especially when you have to live like practically a hermit anyway - lol), so "my boys" have been my family; certainly the closest I will ever come to children. I still have Pookah (who has always wanted to be an only cat and who I got about 6 months prior to Selk and Tris coming into my life - he is going to outlive us all, including me I think); and Spike who I adore and who now has the responsibility of keeping me going. So, for a lot of reasons, Tris' death has hit me really hard; far harder than even I imagined it would - and I knew it would be bad. I'm sorry I am not up for playing just right now. I do try to look in here at least in the morning and before I go to bed to see what the latest is and to enjoy your wonderful pictures and plans for your dolls. As you might imagine, dolls just aren't at the top of the list right now for me though. So please know I am thinking of you and am so grateful to have you and this little refuge in my life. I hope to be able to get back to normal soon. Lily and Peri are quite put out that I've become a particularly poopy poop right now. They have things they want to be doing but I'm not being very cooperative in helping them just at present. And then there's the darn pig wedding that still hasn't happened!!! So, soon, I hope. Soon.

Oh, man, Ginnie, that sucks, twice in a year! I hope it really was nothing and you will be just fine (but you should treat yourself to the massage like 1mim says anyway and make the dingaling on the cellphone pay for it! - what is wrong with these people?!). Yeah, no stall mucking! Let someone else do it for a change!

Judy, I was practically cheering when you said you didn't have to go through a root canal. I go back for session #3 next week - the dentist can't find the last nerve so he spent last week digging around in my jaw for about an hour looking for it. I may still have two sessions to go and that is not including if I get a crown which I am going to try to avoid because what with the vet bills and the other root canal fees, there just really isn't anything left! Wear that nightguard! It'll save you a fortune (and a lot of pain)! There truly is no pain quite as bad as tooth pain. And, believe me, I know my pain (physical and emotional)!

DollZ, so hope the solo piece went well (though I'm betting it did)! Your instincts know what to do with the stuff even if your brain is trying to overcomplicate it. Trust in the Force, Lu.. emp, I mean.. DollZwize!

So Ok, the solo piece tonight - OMG was that bugger HARD! I was so Totally unable to play it in the pre run through I thought I was going to freakin DIE! All my hard work and I was like duh, omg - now what does that penciled in brilliant solution actually mean?!!!????.......so I sat thru all the other pieces trying staring at my music and trying to get some sort of imprint of it into my tangled brain. - THen, the moment........... Nothing to do but suit up and show up. I pulled out the instrument and strode out - I was last on the program. I just dove right in, and midway thru the first page one of the freakin harmonics didnt sound an octave above like its supposed to, I just dug in and said - better make this baby EXPressive as Hell! So I just went for it, and it apparently went. On the final pizz (plucking the string fiercely) I whacked the Hell out of my stand - KaBAM, and my arm raised up in the air for the longest time letting all the dust settle. Then I am told there was thunderous applause. I was busy trying to find the composer, to acknowledge her. She told me later that the performance sent "chills through me" - my dean apparently asked her - "wow, that didnt sound anything like the recording" - to which the composer responded "Because this was a real professional playing it" - OMG................ She later wanted pics with me, and gave me a lovely little gift. Everyone was really happy, and the recording guy was ecstatic - Wow, you just throw yourself into whatever you play - I have it on CD, and Video! I was like omg......

I really wonder what is going to happen when people sit down to listen to these things and go, ummmm, but actually thats not even in the music.................omg. ANYway, the live performance was really convincing. Hopefully there wont be incredible amounts of research done on what all exactly I actually played.............

Now, I just have to do the solo piece again on Monday at Cath U in DC. omg. I am soooooooooooooo going to still be working on this dang thing, Its truly nuts, and all this recording equipment does have me wondering what the verdict will be later, when one isnt confronted with all the trappings of a live experience........oh well....

I really do have a strange learning curve with this stuff, its really not my forte this contemporary stuff, but live anyway, I do sell whatever it is I am playing very convincingly apparently.omg.

Ok, so I am still in a little shell shock....

Everyone else on this faculty really excels at this stuff, all their pieces were really exact and well played. I guess I just do things really differently. I really dont even know how to play like that. I am very precise as far as being in tune and hitting things, but man am I ever creative when it comes to interpreting rhythms. BUT as my husband later said, "you play things with such commitment that its probably how the composer would really like to hear things, really meaningfully put, and not just academically correct." I really dont know, but at least my composer was really happy. I hope she still is weeks later when she sits there with a score and listens to whatever all I did in that recording - omg.

One funny thing. I Always have Tiggs with me in my black leather pouch purse thing. Its actually a knitting hip bag I wear as a purse. So of course afterwards Everyone wanted to know - "whats with the purse?" I wasnt about to explain nor whip out Tiggs, so I merely said - hey, its not wearing a thong at the World Series! - I just love those blank looks of wtfaery?!

 

Dollzwise. I knew you would just do wonderfully. I think you have to put your heart and soul into music. I really wish I was there to hear it. Its sounds like an amazing performance.

Omg, I just so adore your crew - I mean my heart just jitters. I so adore them. They are so incredibly dimensional and I get such a feel of who they are and what all they do. MuJa, yes I kinda felt like Frankenstein, lol! The girl hit me from behind, she looked pretty young, maybe 19 years old... I understand accidents happen, but she popped out of the car with cell phone in hand, so I think that was what she was paying attention to... her cell phone and not the cars in front of her. I was STOPPED at a stop light, I mean how oblivious are these people???? The weird thing is I had this exact same thing happen last year before the holidays, with the same damage to my car. I don't think I'm hurt anywhere as badly as I was then, that's the good news. I should be okay by the end of the weekend. I thought I would feel worse today but it's not too bad. Tom is doing the horses for me (what a great hubby).

imagica, don't worry I'll be just fine! I can still work and I couldn't do that last year. So that's all I need to make me happy, plus it could have been MUCH worse.

tappin, MAN I thought that was pretty lousy of them to leave me there like that. I didn't realize it's not copacetic. You're already sore and in some discomfort and then they keep you strapped down. Honestly I had to try to talk myself out of having a mini panic attack, I'm a little claustrophobic and it's hard to breathe in that thing as it is, and I was spooked from the accident to begin with. I can't imagine what it would be like if I was *really hurt* and stuck in that contraption! What a nightmare!

Thanks so much for all your support, its been a heck of a Fall. Now it free's up a bit, school and a few gigs, well, after Monday anyway. Big hoopla going on because Wash Ballet is using canned taped music and discontinuing what had been the longest running live orch Nutcracker, that would have been 3 weeks, an entire orchestra put out of work for the holidays so that sucks, but I was lucky and already made that money back this Fall, but things like this happening really have one wondering about the state of this bizarrely highly skilled yet utterly evaporating profession.

I have a wedding to play today - LOL!!! I have been at peoples weddings all my life, grew up at them coz my parents played them too, so I really think of it as the most common thing in the world. It was fairly hysterical how unprepared I was for how emotional I got at my own wedding. I got all dressed up, and you cant see this in the video coz the camera was on my hubby and the minister, but that first view when you walk into the doorway at the beginning of the aisle - I had on my pretty wedding dress and my lovely satin heels, entered the doorway and then just teetered out of view and crashed into a radiator because I am sooooooooo unaccustomed to heels. On tape they are trying desperately not to crack up. Then during the vows I was hopelessly sobbing so unexpectedly moved that I could barely speak.....who knew weddings were such a big deal?!!!

Ok, gotta run, but Tiggs did get some quality time giving treats to MiniBipps today

 

Yeeps just remembered! Imajica I LOVED your three girls in their Punky Punkins - for some reason Trinity as a nurse so happily drawing blood has me ROTFLMAO! Inara does seem to have her lips particularly pursed being jammed in a veggie like that, but Phoebe looks gleefully delighted as does Samael!

well, I doubled up on my allergy meds, and it seems to help keep me breathing around the awfull scented holiday candles and pinecones, but it make my nose tissues so dry that I am getting nosebleeds. *sigh* I really need some fairy dust to help me get through the holidays.

None of the members of the Floragang want to celebrate Halloween now, to scared they have to wear pumpkinses ridiculuses.

Leo, last year my daughter sent me to the specialist, there was no room or the police can find gazillions places with blood. You know no matter how you clean it they can find it and she was scared that if I dropped dead she will be arrested for slaughtering her mom. My blood is very thin and so was the skin inside my nose and it was also very dry, I got a special creme and they burned some veins and now a year later I have hardly a nose bleed once a month. So maybe a tip for your nose, ask for a special type of creme.

thanks Muja, I will only last a few months, after christmas most of the smelly things go away and I can go back to normal dosage of my allergy meds. I found that vasoline helps a little.

RaZzy and Bleu are all dressed up! my SO is haveing a halloween tinies meeting with all of my tinies and all of his tinies, and he's doing a photo story. It is amazing how many dolls we have below 20cm in this house! XD

OOO two things to get excited about, I cant wait to see your photo stories Leo and yay love love it when houses get a make over. I only have ONE craft shop within an hours drive and I have to limit myself. They are so exciting. They smell good and are full of fab stuff. ONly thing that annoys me is crying kids in there as I can get lost in my head for an age if the bubble is not pierced by screaming. Toys are us and an aquarium shop are either side so it is a bounty for tiny finds.

I dont mind kids crying in Toys are Us, that is THEIR domain. The craft shop is MIIIIIIINE I tells ya Miiiiiiiiinnnne

The Halloween costumes are great ( sorry again Inara) we don't have a real Halloween feast in Holland but this year I got a lot of vampires, witches and other critters at the door and they all were yelling tricks or I shoot..............and when I asked them where they left their gun, one answered cleverly : " In my bag with treats where you can put your candy's " .

 

Oh man... I'm sitting on the porch and its only 45 minutes into Trick or Treat and my candy is really running out.... maybe it's the one for the kids... one for me system! ROTFL!!!!!

LOL - well poor Hubby was with me. We had romped off to the train show today, and I had never seen so much of the old Steam Tug out of the water, and the light was so beautiful so I begged and was sooooooooooooooo sure there had to be a way to get a shot of it.

I will post that fiasco, I mean ADVenture LOL!!! But the light was fading fast after we got released and I sooooooooooooo wanted to see if our abandoned loco was still off in the woods. Poor thing was in such good shape for 50 years or so, but about a year ago after we found it, the graffiti artists did, and just ripped it apart. We didnt climb all the way up into it, it was too dark and the poor thing looks so terribly damaged now....But Tiggs did get a few good All Hallows shots in. Freaky with a flashlight behind the head isnt it?! Shudder!!!

But yep, was safely with Hubby dragging him into all sorts of mayhem that he was incredibly good at safely getting us back intact from. Never even Occurred to me to bring a flashlight!!!?! He also handled our getting locked into a restricted area thing really well, omg those were the nicest people. I mean there were signs everywhere about NO Tresspassing and omg, the wonky bridge I climbed down, had to climb over huge Caterpillar rock movers, then over rocks, then past this gate that said "ALL Employees must wear a hardhat and a lifejacket from this point on. My husband didnt actually watch that part, he would have freaked out had he seen me hop that fence and shimmy down to the water - w Tiggs and the Iphone in one hand and the other clutching the rusty guardrail - soooooooooooooooooo nuts.........

You really cant tell from this angle what a steep, sideways slippery rusted slope this was, I so wish I had gotten a picture of the warning sign outside the fence to this ramp. But anyway - heres a teaser pic -

ooooh BTW - the security guard at the next place turned out to be a train buff and had no idea about the abandoned locomotive so he was tickled to learn about it and is going to google earth it till he can go visit it when he is off duty - so no prob at that little adventure - and here I was thinking no security guards on Sundays.....

I'm going to have to apologize for the dissapointment but my halloween photostory has been delayed. Ended up going home for the weekend, got SUPER busy and I will be crazy busy with midterms untill at least monday. So...late halloween photostory? man, i feel bad.

INDIGO: I got the wig you sent. Fits much better! Still very poofy, LOL, it needs a comb. It's lovely though and so soft.

Dollz: girl you are crazy! cant wait to see the pics..... and desk?! lol I work overnights in RETAIL. I dont have a desk. I have a fancy title but I am basically just a shelf stocker that gets to tell other people to stock shelves too! btw halloween candy is heavy when you have to clear out an entire aisle of it to the sales section to make way for christmas stuff! *sigh* the seasonal section is just so smelly with pine and cinnimon and vanillla scents...the new allergy stuff seems to be working ok, but I feel so parched, I think I drank 4 bottles of water just on my shift.

I didnt dress up for halloween because I had to work, I just put on one of my many cat eared headbands. (one would think I love cats lol) My assistant manager was dressed up like a samurai/ninja for about the first two hours then changed into a t-shirt! lol

I did dress Razzy and Blue up though, I will try to get some pics before Razzy stripps the dress off! lol, she really does not like being overly covered up.
