What a fabulous friend you made for Tiggy. Is that the girl we saw you carving at the picnic? I cant imagine how incredible it must feel to create something from nothing for yourself. My Hitty book arrived today. I so want to start reading, especially now I have seen this little thing. I have to finish a book about time travelling Nazis now lol. I dont want to finish it anymore!

I just found out about Fireflys, you know if they are sold in European Union? (I don't want to pay customs)
I just buy outside EU if it's under 22 euros, no taxes added for this, and since they are the size of pukis, I really like to have one.

AnLlo the fireflys come form a company called Charles creature cabinet. which is based in the EU, the netherlands I think. there has been some problems this laat year with the company and the fireflys are not avaliable.
... But that said if to put a want to buy ad up sometime if you are ment to have a firefly one will find you.

Thanks, I thought that Charles Creature Cabinet was American, that's why I asked. But for now I'm saving to get 4 more Realpukis, maybe with luck I put that order in middle July, and start saving for a Firefly (I liked the Fuuga). So they send from Netherlands? That's will be great, I did go to the site and never think of looking their address
I can see there is a Fuuga in fullset, $289 = +/- 240€, it's the price that I pay for my Imp.

 

AnLlo, it's very unlikely at this point that CCC will ever produce another doll. There are a number of us still waiting for dolls that we ordered 9-10 months ago and, while he has them, he will not send them out no matter how much we beg or people who know him offer to help him. If you want a FireFly, your best chance is in the Marketplace here on DoA. We try to avoid discussing the CCC problem on this thread because it nearly destroyed the community we built here. It's a very upsetting situation for those still waiting for dolls. Greetings AnLIo - yep, it's sort of the elephant we avoid discussing in this room as this is the refuge we have created for the little Fireflies that did manage to get to their homes. We have all lost a great deal, not just in what all we invested in what has not come, but we also have lost friends and people and fireflies we care about. So awhile back we determined that this thread would be a refuge which we have created and maintained through very much.

On the Bright side, the Fireflies were actually a creation of Donny Harijanto of Dream High Studio who used to be the factory for CCC. Now Donny has his own line of dolls available via Luxour Academy and a female sprite fairy is coming out this summer with superlative joints and a truly amazing sculpt. You can follow links near the end of Firefly thread 3. As all of our CCC creations were born via that same factory, it is very exciting that the many who never got a chance to own a Firefly will soon have an opportunity to own a sibling to our own here.

As the CCC debacle goes on rather endlessly people are selling CCC so do try a WTB in the MP, several of our recent members have rehomed fireflies and as this thread is dedicated to letting these little ones live, frolic, and play. It's always a huge honor when one of our Fireflies return to play on this thread.

That we are on the Fourth thread with only Fidelias, Fuugas, and one very special Vampfae who we got released, it's a total testament to how hard we have all worked to preserve this realm as a refuge for these little spunky Fireflies and their very dedicated stewards.

Tiggy is thrilled you are here and wants to make sure you know we all started off here pre Firefly and we always welcome new Firefly enthusiasts with open arms an lots of Stompin Fun!

 

Dollzwire thank you so very much for the info! I have been drooling over everyone's photos & photo stores & would love to own a new Donnie sprite fairy! I did not know that he is the one who sculpted the fireflys. I am off to check out those links & please tell Tiggy hello.

Speaking as one who came by her Firefly Faerie through a dear sweet soul on this thread, this is a great place to play with some of the most caring people ever. There is magic in these little ones and I'm dying to see the little fairy friend that Donny is making. So welcome AnLlo and Matera.

AnLlo, you would have no way of knowing unless you read every thread that had a CCC reference in it (and there are an awful lot of them)! Please feel welcome here to join in. Just about everyone here started out without a FireFly and, one way or another, one (or two) found their way to us. The little fairy that is coming out from Dream High Studio later this Summer looks to be beautiful and will certainly be a sister to our FireFlies. Donny, who created her, is the best and such a marvelous artist -- that little fairy is going to make a lot of people happy and I hope you'll be able to get one!

Yay, Alida & Country Girl, glad you got here to thread four! It certainly does look like Alida has gotten those boys right where she wants them!

Susan B., Fiona is turning out to be one of that rare breed, a sweet Fidelia! I just love to see her! Those little antennae are so cute - does she get good reception?

Thanks everyone for the sweet comments on Tiggys new little friend, thinking maybe Bitty Zelda? Did a bit more carving and painting on her lips to even it out some. She picked up this incredibly cool teey sparkle when I took her outside to spray fixative and its right by her nose like a jewel. Considering I am half India (the other half West Virginia Cherokee) it looks so nifty on her.

Jonlyn, I am really really careful with my hands, use carving glove and a thumb guard and do alot of sanding to get the shapes I want. I do love carving dolls, so tickled how nifty her dress came out considering I was totally guesstimating while her body and limbs were all hanging to dry LOL!

Thanks so much Daisydayes and folks for likin our Bitty! I havent carved in foresever, so it was like relearning Everything to get that feel back. I do need to take a family pic of the dolls I have carved.

Well, in the heat I dont take Tiggs everywhere during the summer now, so today Tiggs spent a nice snuggly day with her Bygby in da cabin

 

Dollzwize I just love your carved creation. I have done a bit of research on "Hitty" and it is lovely to know that she still lives on in the heart of people like yourself.
I would love to know if there are any special dolls from Australian Pioneers. I might have to do some searching.

Reading what you have written DollZwize made me think back on this year. It is sad that we have lost a few faes and a few humans along the way. It is wonderful though that we still have a solid core in this thread. How much have we supported each other through. Happy , sad , frustrating, hopes and we will continue to do so into thread five and six. Hugs and Happy Anniversary to all of us.

 

Absolutely true Imajica and DollZwize. This thread is the playground of Fidelia's and Fuuga's and many other dolls connected with them. It is the heartground of us where we can share through the Faes our lives and troubles our work and friendship and of course our fun playing and be buzy to follow the commands of our Fairies. Like a big Jigsaw puzzle scattered over the world, we are friends united in this thread.

Since I we don't have a FFF here... Hatter wanted to say hi! He is waiting for the "new fairy" in hopes she might come live with us... He things Tiggy and the other FFF are pretty cool.

 

going crosseyed trying to make tiny sandals to go with the bikinis...I am officially loco....but I did get a cute beach bag to go with the baby blue set and one for the pink set done.
*sigh* I am going to put it down for now and go cut and dye my hair....I feel the need to cover all my greys and be a firey redhead again...

Happy to hear that you take serious precautions when carving DollZwize! I have never carved so didn't realise there are so many protective devices out there.

We have had a wonderful year here as imajica & others have said....loved MuJa's comment too on how we are like a big international jigsaw puzzle all united here. The world seems to be becoming a colder & crueler place daily...we have had a very sad & ugly incident right here in our little area, so it is especially comforting to come here where everyone is so kind & quick to offer sympathy, friendship & whatever support is needed.


We are off for a long weekend of camping & celebrating the 4th with a group of friends. Hope everyone here in the US has a wonderful & SAFE holiday.

DollZwize, your little Hitty carving is just wonderful. I am a total sucker for wood carvings. Haven't tried it myself, but there is something in me that just resinates to fine woodwork. Tiggy and her Bunksie look so sweet snuggled up together. May I ask where you got her shoes. They look beautifully proportioned for her foot.

Finally, Darkstar. Looks can be deceiving. A sweet Fidelia? Well, maybe at first. But at the moment, I seem to have a slight edge with control of the electronic media. You should see the pictures I deleted. Here's one that I wasn't going to post. She seems to think that riding sidesaddle makes her ladylike. I'm now attempting to make sure she has shorts on under her dresses.

ROFL...Yep Susan...just look back at the first page to see why thats called the "Thistle Anne". Just when poor little Primrose was finally getting her time in the spotlight, Thistle Anne flipped her skirt up...she hates for anyone to get more attention than she does. I didn't see it until after the picture was already posted...Primrose was mortified and Thistle Anne was quite pleased with herself

I';ve not been around for the last few days because the charging cable for my beloved laptop has gone kaput. That said, it'll be a week before the replacement arrives. In the meantime i'm stuck with minuscule time on my little brother's nasty computer. There is literally a film of teenager grease on everything. I guess he just eats food and then wipes his hands all over his keyboard and mouse and desk or something. Boys.

Needless to say I won't be around for a while unless it's on other peoples' computers. Nice to see so many pictures! I've been working on Kite's shenanigans but it's talking way longer than i anticipated. I did make him some pants though, that are almost exactly the same purple as on the poster I made (this wasn't planned in advance, i realized it after i'd made them lol). Also i've been practising posing both Jo Jo and K and I continue to be flabbergasted at how awesomely well made the body is.

Lucy is doing great, glowy as ever though she seems to be really antsy. I made her a couple of things and she's quieted down but I think if she doesn't get more attention there's going to be a fuss!

I am kinda shy for pictures....I am also a little paranoid of the internet. a guy my SO and I used to be friends with took a pic of my SO with his doll (60cm obitsu) and posted it on "ANOTHER doll forum" and they all made fun of him and called him a pedo cause he is a balding guy with dolls (and isnt gay). some people are just horrible out there.

in other news...I have one sandle complete...it only took 8 tries!
but, for now I am off to faceup a Pukisha puki! (gotta love the barter system, I really loved that wig and she needed a faceup!)

just to clarify...who came up with the FFF concept, who actually scuplted them, who developed the GID resin, I know that Donny did the castings. I cant wait to see Donny's new fae girl. I want a squee, and now am interested in the boys, if the bodies are that good...but I dont think I can afford them. I needs more moneys...

Yo Folks, just got in from Kayaking - Finally! Life outdoors! I am an inveterate scavenger so I found some antique bottles, a lovely wooden plaque with an anchor cutout, a jar with matches and an old butterfly necklace in it, all sorts of Stuff - Love Wandering!

I know the Fireflies were Donny's idea, but what exactly was done by whom?! Who knows?! I just know that Donny casts, sculpts and his dolls do arrive at my house.

In any event, between work, there is some playtime happening Yaay!

Hey Susan B, indeed there just is something so very special about wood, and wooden dolls. A living feel to them, she is soooo imperfect as its been so long since I have been carving, and frankly each of mine have some strange oddity to them, but working with what they come out with really is such a lesson in acceptance too as I do just have to leave be, and let them be, but Thanks so much for liking her! I will do a family pic of the 5 or 6 I have carved. Oh the shoes are from my Puki Circus Black Lily, they are an absolutely perfect fit.
