Character Dolls (based on fictional or other preexisting characters)

I am in love with Ashlotte from Soul Caliber IV and would absolutely love a doll of her. I'm still not sure if I want an MSD or SD size though.

 

I have plans for a Star Trek character. :3

 

Lol, I'd love to get a House and Wilson DIM Minimee, but massive cost for possible lack of resemblence D: Maybe once I finish wasting money on school I can save up for something useful!

 

Well, I plan on getting a Kanoa, and I am thinking of basing him off of Kaltz, the Devil of Grief. It will be very difficult, however. :/

 

I'm not sure if I would do this. I mean, right now I'm saving up for a Volks Hinaichigo fullset. Even though I could just get the doll by itself, if I own a doll that was a limited, I would like to have the fullset. I do like the character from Rozen Maiden, but it's really more about keeping the set together.

But I don't know, I just might end up keeping the doll the same character and with the same name. I'd probably do a different face-up and give it freckles since that would be adorable though. The doll is not here yet (not even purchased) so if and when that time comes will determine if it stays as Hina.

On the other hand, I am running a Minimee order for three heads. At least one will be the character intended: Atreyu from The Neverending Story, but the other two might end up as others. Again, I won't know until they're actually here.^^

 

I don't have such a doll but I'm working on it. As for me it's wonderful to have beloved character at home as a BJD. It's different from writing fanfics or drawing etc and much more breathtaking. =D

I plan to have a doll of Larten Crepsley from Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak series.

 

I'm still in the process of convincing myself to spend the money on a doll (I keep eyeing the Angell Studio website) but it would be my own character. S/he might someday count as a character doll, assuming I can get the dumb stories published . No girls yet in mind though, just boys.

They are all borrowing my other doll's body for now, until, I get them their own bodies.

 

I wouldn't mind dressing one of my dolls up for say....Halloween or a character based photoshoot to correspond with a movie release or whatnot but I think that to have them permanently based on a character is definitely something I would not do

I feel like someday I'm going to get a doll that will be roughly based on a character, but never completely. It just has to be a character that I really like. I wouldn't name him after the character, though.

 

i have huge plans on making a doll fai from tsubasa. im so attached to that character its pathetic. im thinking a customhouse hyun? im terrible with looking at molds and trying to match them to pictures ^^; but from hyuns ive seen, he has just..this look about him that screams fai! to me.

id also love a kurogane to match him, but thats definitely a "dream" doll. ^^;

 

I've tried in the past with Minimees but it's never quite worked out... now I'm hoping that it'll happen with my incoming Black Cat Lucas when he arrives: with a new faceup and some high-quality urethane eyes, I'm hoping to make a decent Zack Fair out of him *crosses fingers*

 

Fai is such a good choice i like fai too.
kurgane... hmn. he'll be hard to find i think. but fai is very do-able

I thought about getting or making a character based off of an existing one but decided against it mainly because I have enough figures or fan material for other characters, I wanted the dolls i have to be different, more original and my own. While I can see how it would be fun to have a character doll, as you can see what that character would look like in different outfits or poses, to me its more fun to have my own character.

 

aww ~ I wanna have a girl based on the chracter Yuki in Vampire Knights. But IDK where to look for costume or wig or even a mold to start off with

I'd like a Rozen Maiden Shinkun, but I don't like collecting "sets" w/o the complete set.

I have a Minimee of Eric Northman from the True Blood tv show. (Since it's modeled after the actor who plays Eric.)
He's sadly just a head right now, though. I'm saving up for a body for him.

 

The only character dolls I have even considered doing would be a Puki Asterix and Obelix... and while it's a terribly cute idea, I just honestly don't ever see myself going through with it.

 

I really hate to re-inforce the BJD = "Those Anime Dolls" thing, but I just HAVE to make one of my little Gaa-chan

I think it would be really fun to do! And my friends wont have the "Wait, which doll is this again?" problem they have with my OC based BJDs, and it would be fun to walk through the mall with an MSD Gaara 3

I hope to have a Yin doll from Darker Than Black and then the twins from Ouran High School. I think there's enough flexibility in any character's personality to make them fit in with your other dolls. Sort of, if your other dolls are positioned like they're goofing off, what do the character dolls think of this? ^^

I can think of tons of things I can do with the twins from Ouran High School and Yin from Darker Than Black is usually with a blank expression and she's what's called a doll in the anime(though not really one)

 

i've been trying to save for either of my first two for afew months now...but other more important things were needed instead.

but luckily at the end of this month i'll be ordering my Roxas He is going to be a DOC Too as my sis is ordering the Twin set. The both of us put half the money towards them. She wants Bee A.

I don't have a character doll, but I'd love to! I'm not sure who I'd pick though...

 

Congrats on that! I have a Roxas of my own and I love him very much. Though I'll admit after saying for years I would never buy a character doll (except one of my own) having him was surreal at first. But he turned out so well, I don't regret it!

 

All of my current and planned babies are original characters. I like making them original because there's a lot more creativity and flexibility with them. Though I dont see anything wrong with making a character doll. I'm actually quite impressed by owners who go all-out to make them as much like the character as possible ^_^

 

Thank you i've wanted to start my bjd family for awhile now. I love the idea of Roxas and Axel dolls for awhile now. I thought i would of been getting Axel (DZ Hid) first but i can't complain Roxas, Axel either of them coming first i don't mind at all

My boy Kamijo is the alternate universe, true vampire version of Kamijo of Versailles and LAREINE fame. He's more like the way I write him more than anything, and reminds me even more of Lestat than the real Kamijo does, lol... I eventually want a Lestat doll as well.

 

I only have character dolls! I have 13 BJD and all are characters from anime characters and 1 is a portrait doll of my favorite singer/seiyuu.

I guess that's why I love dolls and BJD so much---they are perfect representations of my favorite characters. ^^

 

I do not and I don't plan on it but I am making a cosplay costume for one of my dolls.

 

At one point, I realllllllllly want to make a Morrigan from Darkstalkers. She'd be fantastic to have in bjd form. She'd be more of an action figure vs something I would write about.

i almost ended up buying a John Barrowman MNM head, cause I really like him in Torchwood as Capt. Jack Harkness, and he'd fit in with my gang.. but didn't do it, cause i don't really like to have to stick to someone elses character.. hehe..

 

I have no plans now, because there are no characters I'm like hardcore into, but some day I might, if I find a character I think would be really cool as a doll. :3 I love fanart, so I would like to make a doll up as a character, I think.

I started thinking about it, and there IS actually a character I would like to make. Mink from Dragon half. She has a really cute body and mohair would be perfect for her hair, and in the manga art she has so many cool outfits with crazy armor.. she seems like she'd be really fun to make, and really impressive looking as a doll. Oh no, thanks a lot, I might have to do it now. XD;;;;; But not any time soon, probably..
And first I'll go and check if it's been done yet..

...Until I read the idea about Sumomo. Darn it. That idea is too awesome to pass up! ;_; I'd probably do Kotoko though. And I wasn't even planning on ever even getting a tiny-sized doll! Ever! Noooooo!!

Besides that, though, I have five OCs to take care of first, so I doubt it'll ever happen.

But the desire is there now. Oh yes.

My Elfdoll Polaris is Jadis, loosely based on the Narnia Queen.
My AIL Chloe is Valencia, inspired by The Decemberist's song of the same name.

The best "doll character" I have ever seen is my friend's Speed Racer. He is perfect.

 

I have a few character in my noggin' that I would love to find. I'm in the process of putting two of them together as we speak...and I think that I've found a way to start the third. So...yeah! I'm definitely into character dolls.

 

I plan for my DT Io (whenever I'm able to get her) to be a version of Brigitte Fitzgerald from the Ginger Snaps movies (primarily the second film, Unleashed). She'll be a bit of a hybrid between the movie character and a sort of fan-fic version in my head. Plus, I plan to have her be the younger sister to my Saint (another when-I'm-able-to-get doll) which is totally not in line with the movie character.

 

I'd like for my dolls to cosplay existing characters but I'll have to get good at sewing first tho ^^

No. It just is not my cup of tea. I do enjoy seeing other doll lovers character dolls. Some are so well done.

I've got an Alucard (from Castlevania) doll that has been Alucard since the day I got him. (White skin Vampire Elf El) He is my only "stays that character" doll. LOL

 

At the moment, I'm just waiting on my first boy. In the future, though, I do plan on getting the vampire trio, Molochai, Twig and Zillah, from "Lost Souls". It's my favorite book and I absolutely adored them when they were introduced, especially because their characters are very flexible.

When it comes to OCs, though, I actually prefer for them to stay on paper. I create completely new and different personalities for dolls ^-^

I have a few characters that have been inspired by others, but they end up nothing like them once I've finished with them.

I wont lie though >.>;;..I love Death Note and have a couple of characters with similar appearances and attributes, but ALL my characters have to fit into my storyline so it can never be a direct copy.

 

While I do like my own characters, there are some characters that I wouldn't mind having a doll for. Yet I'll probably be concentrating on my own characters for quite some time. (Although I would consider getting Zuko from ATLA)

 

yes I have been a fan of teen titans since my uncle gave me his entire collection of teen titans comics when i was 9 and i do plan on getting the entire team made
