Canon PowerShot S3 IS

    1. I have a Canon PowerShot S3 IS and, to be blunt, I have no idea what I'm doing.
      I've got a Conversion Lens Adapter on it, though I don't know what that means or what it does. I know nothing about this camera (or cameras in general), and while I've taken some pretty good non bjd shots with it, I need serious help with the doll photography.

      So, to anyone who uses this camera or knows anything about it, here are my questions~

      • What settings should I become familiar with?
      • What features and abilities do I need to utilize to get the best out of my camera for doll photography?
      • Anything I should know in regards to lighting, time of day, area, backdrops, etc etc etc?
      Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

    2. This thread has a lot of links to tutorials. They cover all the general questions you ask.

      Also, you may want to keep your camera's manual handy as you do the online exercises. If you haven't already, read it.

    3. There's a few threads on this subject X3

      Pretty much (i use the same camera, or have for ages) I stick to the "C" mode. You can play a lot with color and all that fun stuff there. Ummm, the 'flower' button is always clicked on (this is the macro function) or you can click and HOLD the flower button to get super macro. where it can focus AGAINST the lens.
      Pretty epic.
