Brava Bambi (Bambicrony) Discussion Part 1

guls207-- I love your signature pictures! I think your slogan should be, "No guls, no glory."

 

I got a Grace Bambicrony a couple months ago & while she has a really sweet face--her body is the most uncooperative thing I've ever encountered!! She is no fun redressing & the only thing you can do with her once dressed is let her sit & don't touch or else you go thru the process of the hard to deal with body again. I won't buy a Bambicrony again but it's good to know there are things you can do to fix the mess!!

 

My Bambi is sueded with hot glue and I also tightened her strings and now she poses quite well. The only things that don't work very well are her ankles in high heeled shoes, but I think that little problem will be solved when Bambicrony makes proper high heel feet for her.

 

roses, maybe your Grace just needs restringing? My Emily on the same body poses just fine, and has no difficulty standing.

I know when my Ellen arrived she was loosely strung for protection against breaking during transit. I restrung her and she poses very nicely now. I'm going to add KIPS to her body soon and blush her to cover the sanding marks possibly over spring break if the weather is good for sealing.

Oooh! I did a faceup on Momo's modded dreaming head! I took the pictures and I'll try to upload them tonight! Lol, it's funny, I think I like her sleeping head a teeny bit more than her dreaming head!

Tan Emily is probably still available because BC may have made them already so they might be selling what's left in their stock. I wish I had the money to get her though. greeniebone you Emily is GORGEOUS!!!!

 

I'd love to see your sleepy head, I love that head but not so big a fan of the company faceup.

 

Momo spam! Here is Momo's sleepy head. Her eyes have been modded to be 1/2 open. The faceup was done by me and is nowhere near perfect. The camera didn't pick up the soft gold and pink tones in her faceup though. I think I'm going to practice my faceups on her because she's a lot of fun to paint and I just ADORE her!

 

So I caved and ordered a Bambicrony tan Emily. XD

Are you sure the latest dolls on Nine9 Style are the new Bambis???
I think they're all the "4th Anniversary Katherine Head" that Nine9 has different faceup and is dressed differently if you have a look closely at their sculpts...

I was having the same thought. It's not really unusual for companies to release the same head under a different name, although it's curious that they chose to name one the same as an existing Brava sculpt, though (Isabelle).

I have the Katherine head in peach puff with the Bambi face-up and I thought the Bambis on Nine9 Style were the same as well. It might be hard to tell without eyes, but here is a picture of my Katherine head. She is waiting for me to pay off her body and eyes at the beginning of March.

 

Lol wow I really did think they were different sculpts at first also! I have to say Katherine is a beautiful sculpt!

I love Katherine! So sad I missed her during the event but I managed to find one on the MP and she's on her way to me now after a fabulous faceup! Can't wait to show her.. (I'm also waiting for the last invoice for a Tan Ellen on layaway, so exciting!)

Lazy afternoon Momo spam! I'm so happy with how her faceup turned out...I can't wait to wipe her and try again! Lol!

The second picture is for comparison, I paired her with my Lati Blue boy as Kairi, but she seems to look better next to my Volks SDC girl! Looks like I'm going to have to reshell Kairi into a doll with a bigger head to match her better. There's no WAY I'm reshelling Momo! I adore this girl!

 

I've paid the last layaway for Ellen so now the waiting becomes more intense! :P My tan Katherine is still in shipping so I dont know who is arriving first >_<

Hi everyone!

Its been a while since my last post in this thread. I purchased witha friend a BB Katherine from Bambicrony and when she arrived her body had several scraches, dots, and darker areas. (my friends CB Mae also had face up issues) I wrotte in this thread about this asking for opinion about Katherine condition, and after reading them all decided to contact bambicrony, who said that the dolls weres "normal withing their quality standars"

This happened in december. Finally it is all over. We would like to share with everyone our experience with bambicrony. A whole review of the experience can be viewed at THE BAMBICRONY FEEDBACK THREAD or at a INDEPENDENT BLOG OUT OF DOA

I would like to ask everyone to read it.

We would like to know if other people has experienced similar situations. We also would like to know if people that ordered during the 4rth aniversary recieved their dolls with a good condition. Many people may have not written their feedback, but maybe after reading the text and comments they decide to do so.

This would help the whole comunity (us included) to know what has exactly happened with the Bambicrony Quality standars. We think open information among all the owners is the key for benefit the current and future customers.

That's really too bad about your dolls. These two are probably the reason they decided to discontinue the tan dolls. I do know that many companies have problems with tan resin because it is more difficult to cast and can't be sanded very successfully because it shows up as lighter on the resin. At least you got most of your money back.

 

Thank you for Sakura for posting about your experiences. Hopefully when Bambicrony offers tan dolls again, they won't have those quality control issues. I'm glad they at least listened to their customers and are halting any further orders. However, I can certainly see how you would have been upset. For the price, the quality you received was unacceptable.

Yoon replied to my post and my final order has been paid in full. So, I will finally be getting the Ellen fullset boots, faced-up second Ellen head, correct wig, body for my peach puff Katherine and a Bella Bambi Marianne that I have been wanting for a couple of years now. I think then I am finished with Bambicrony for a while.

 

Woaaaah Gracie you still don't have your boots? Mine arrived in January!!! Dude, not cool at all.

 

Well, I do have to admit the reason it has taken longer is because I told Yoon they could ship the boots with the latest order. I was told everything was ready and just waiting for my final payment, but I paid last week and my status just now says "money transfer received". Hopefully it isn't going to take forever for it to ship.

 

I am also still waiting for Ellen to ship since I've paid her last payment on 26 Feb.. you're not alone gracie!

 

I'm having trouble getting an answer from bambicrony, i sent two emails to them, no answer, posted on there message board, no answer, then someone said to try and contact yoon on flickr, which i did, still no answer, then they finally answered my message on the message board and said that my order would be shipped on the 12th of march, i heard nothing from them, no tracking number, so posted a message again on the board yesterday, still no answer yet, are bambicrony always this dreadful at answering their mail? it's driving me mad!!!!!!!! i tell you, that's the last time i order from them!!!

 

I waited about two weeks (posted twice) for them to tell me when they'll ship my order. They forgot to send me my event head and a jacket back in December and I finally got it in March.

 

God that's awful, i thought bambicrony were supposed to be good! i'm really feedup with them at the moment, they really need to get their act together!!!

 

I agree. I decided to never order from them when I got my tan Ellen with horrible marbling and sanded seams. I still love her so I won't sell her, but I'm just mad that I paid so much for such crappy quality. It's going to take a TON of work on my part to fix their mistakes.

 

Sorry to hear you are all having trouble contacting Bambicrony. I have faith that they will get their problems sorted out in the end.

I don't believe this, i've just checked the bambicrony Q&A board, and they have answered all the messages that were posted round about the same time as mine, but they have ignored mine!!!!! that's it, i've had it with bambicrony! i feel like asking for my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

sushi, any email directly to Bambicrony or Yoon will take at least 3 weeks to get a reply or more. I've always had more luck just posting on the Q&A section. Yoon doesn't answer the Q&A section every day. I think it is about every 3 days, but she will answer you. Of course, there are no replies on weekends. I've also had Yoon answer the questions around mine, but not mine. It was answered, though by the next day.

As guls said, there have been a lot of us that have been having problems with Bambicrony. Mine started back in October of last year. They eventually do get the problems worked out, but after placing two orders with them, I am finished. The dolls are beautiful, it is is really way too much of a hassle.

What did you order? When I ordered last September, it took a lot of posts and threats to them to send out my order by Christmas. I believe they were overwhelmed by the sale they had, but it was still ridiculous. People stated getting some really poor quality dolls so I think they stopped rushing to get the dolls out and are trying to be more careful. My last order was paid off on March 2nd and it just now says "before shipping". Like guls, I had items that were not shipped and wrong items sent in my December order, but my dolls were perfect.

Did everyone see the new SD from Bambicrony? She looks like an older version of Katherine. Pretty hefty price tag, too. Think I will pass.....

 

Bambicrony have taken around 4 months for each order for over a year now, this isn't something new. They also are notorious for saying when they will ship and not doing so.
I think they're holding off on replying to your message sushi77 because they're either planning on shipping it out in the next day and are waiting to do so before replying to you, or they're trying to work out a new date if possible (whether that one is true or not I do not know).

I have a rule of never asking a company for shipping dates because it's never true, but annoyingly Yoon volunteered the incorrect information after I paid off my layaway and said it would be shipped the next week, which caused my angst, as it was shipped about a month and a half later.

 

Sushi77, I don't think you should take it personally; they probably just overlooked it. That happened to me on the Dollshe Q&A board. I just re-posted my question and they answered it the next time they were on there.

 

gracie i ordered a brava bambi april, she's so beautiful, maybe that's why i'm being impatient but the fact that i've sent them so many messages is a bit of a pain!

I fully understand, though. I've dealt with a lot of BJD companies and Bambicrony is the only one I've dealt with who takes a month after you have paid off the layaway to send the order (with the exception of CH where you are lucky if you get anything at all). I know there are other companies that do that, but I chose not to do business with them. I think if I were to know it would be a while, it would be better than being told it will ship out by a certain date (sometimes three different dates) and then my order never shipping out by the date. Very frustrating. At least know that when April does arrive, she will be perfect.

 

Gasp! I love that new SD. She looks like Katherine combined with Ellen. But if I get her, it will have to be off the second hand market... I will stay forever true to my ban on buying directly from BC again. It was way too stressful.

Wow, I saw this thread was active and was curious as to how Bambicrony were going. I've got a Sunday and I adore her. I quite like the new girl but would prefer a SD with more of a Sunday face. I don't think I'll be ordering from the sounds of it. Too much hassle. It's a pity, because Sunday is so sweet.

Well, i heard back from bambicrony, and they said that they were terribly sorry for the delay in shipping, and that they needed more time to prepare my order but would do there best to get it out soon. So goodness knows when that will be

I did notice that a lot of other people are asking the same question as me, looks like bambicrony are under a lot of pressure!!

 

I wonder if this is why they stopped selling their ciao bella line?

It's such a shame to see these companies struggling, especially when their sculpts are so popular. I really hope Bambicrony can recover from whatever trouble they are going though.

 

I thought they were getting ready to move to a new factory? It makes sense that they would be super busy and stop taking orders temporarily if that's the case.
