    2. And to start us off, I had a chance to play around with my Kitty Bonefish and try out some poses :)

I have to admit, while I initially wasn't sure about the aesthetics of the bone tail, it has really grown on me. I like how the tail makes it easy to pose the doll in interesting ways :XD:

    4. Oh, nice! A BonBon Galaxy thread! I have one of the tiger bodies on its way. I would have liked to get the squirrel body too, but I had to make a choice as I have to keep the collection under some control. I have no idea what head to use on this body, how’s that for planning, lol.

    5. Oh nice, I've added that to the list. It's nice that BBG dolls are becoming easy to get hold of ;)

I see that Dolkus have them too but i'm reluctant to list it due to the problems with the Chinese branch. What do you guys think?

Yes, now there are more dolls it'll be nice to have a place to natter about them! I hope you don't have to wait too much longer for the Tiger body. I know it can be hard to resist getting all the dolls as the small size and relatively low pricing makes them very appealing! I'm sure an idea for the head will come up soon, it's fun to have your options open :)

    6. And just for fun I made a mini cat basket for the kitty bone-fish because I felt she needed one XD
      [IMG]
Haha, it has ended up looking very comfortable! Perfect for cold winter days XD

    7. @Epicari it looks super comfy! Purrfect for any cat-fish. :love

    8. @Epicari That looks so adorable. It is nice to see all the fun posing this little doll can do

I still haven't had time to play around with mine.

    9. @Epicari - awwwwwwwwwwww. A kitty basket for the kitty fish! So cute! :love
Oof, I'm struggling. I didn't realize these were resin ($50 unpainted, $100 painted? STEAL). And now that ACBJD is carrying them, I'm really struggling with temptation. Cuz the bone fish doll would make the perfect baby sister for Abyss:

Doll collecting. You know you're in too deep when you are tempted to buy dolls... for your other dolls.

    10. My little tiger body is finally out for delivery after taking 11 days in transit. I will try to get some pics tomorrow after I can actually get to town and get it. I’m excited to see what it’s like and which character it’ll turn out being.

    11. The bone fish is so cute! I'd definitely order one if you'd be able to change the hair

    12. Those fox girls are SO CUTE ;w; But I'm afraid I would be overwhelmed with the countless design-possibilities when it comes to painting them so they'd end up staying blank forever. Maybe one day!

    13. Yup, I know the feeling when your doll needs another doll! If it's any help, here's how the bone fish looks with some MSD sized dolls so you can get a sense of scale!

    14. @Epicari - what a stunning line-up! You have a gorgeous collection! Thank you so much for the comparison pic.
Yes, Bon Bon kitty would be the perfect little sister for Abyss. Hmmmmmm... :shudder

    15. I got the tiger body and there is nothing wrong with it, but…the resin color is not at all what I was expecting. I picked the flesh color as I didn’t want paper white, but the flesh is more of an orangish, tan, peachy color, too dark for any Nendoroid face plates and such an odd color, I won’t be able to find a head to use. It’s even darker than the resin Piccodo ‘tan’, and the tiger tail and ears are white (they don’t even match the body color). I am quite disappointed and will not be doing anything with the body. Too bad as it’s very well made has great detail. Even if I got white, it still wouldn’t match any faceplates, so I should’ve thought about it more carefully. Lesson learned anyway, ha ha.

    16. @kurogane That is a bummer. Do you happen to know which of the flesh tones you went with between the ob white or ob regular?

One of the reasons it took me weeks to settle on a bonefish is I kept debating on which of the skin tones would work best with my nendo faceplate collection. Ultimately I chickened out between the darker flesh tones and went with their bon bon regular cause that one definitely looked like it would at least work with the milk white nendo faceplates (which it did). Given they include gsc neck adapters it is odd they didn't aim at least one resin choice after the peach or almond color nendo faceplates.

    17. @Krissim I got the OB regular body color. The color is darker than my Azone normal pink. I will get some comparison pictures. Guess white would have been best. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

    18. I got the bonefish cat and while she's super cute, I can't figure out how to attach her cat ears. She came with two free floating magnets and none glued into the ears themselves. I can't find any spot on her hair where I would put the magnets on her hair or head, there's no indent or spot for them to go.

Am I missing something? How did you all attach her ears?

    19. My best guess was to glue a set of magnets in the ears and then tuck another pair under the headband for the ears to attach to (so the headband is sandwiched between the ear magnets and lower magnets).
I think my set only came with one set of magnets so I had to use two of my own for the bottom set. I have a bunch of little magnets for crafts/bjd so wasn't a problem but you might need to buy some if you don't already have some knocking about.
I'm not sure if there's some other trick to it or they overlooked adding in the 2nd pair of magnets or if it was a cost saving thing? :sweat

    20. That makes sense, that's the best place I was thinking for it too. I just didn't want to commit to gluing in the magnets to play around with it when I only had one set. I might have another pair around here or, if not, I'm sure I can easily buy some.

They probably didn't include an obvious spot for the magnets on her head because they sell the set without cat ears too. Makes sense from a production point but I was wondering if I got the wrong hair part or was missing something :sweat

      • x 1
    21. Yeah, I was confused why there was only one set of magnets and i'm still not 100% sure if I've got my set up right but it seems to work :sweat

    22. New release of the 'furry' body/head. Both colour versions have very appealing designs (not sure which one I like best!) and these ones have insert eyes. I'm assuming the larger sized heads allow for insert eyes, it'll be interesting to see if this becomes standard with future dolls! It looks like the animal bodies may not be as pose-able as previous ones but the chunky design is quite cute :)

    23. I've not ordered any resin for over 5yrs, during which time I've relocated many times & lost all my BJD, one way or another regretfully! Thought I was over this hobby but just been tempted to order BonBon Galaxy 'Philly' the bunny - so cute & loads of potential for that price IMO (which will be wasted on me no doubt LOL - I'm a bit hopeless). Anyway - I'm guessing it'll be about a 3 or 4 month wait? Ordered from Alice's Collections as usual. Philly, 12cm BonBon Galaxy Pet Doll - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections

    24. My kitty mermaid was 2 months from ordering to arriving (ordered via Doll Legend). It might be that the doll was already starting production when I ordered so wasn't too much of a wait! It's always nice to receive a doll in under 3 months (6+ months wait is sooo hard!) :whee:

    25. Thanks for that info @Epicari <3 Good to know - I normally buy 'in-stock' dolls as I'm so impatient LOL

    26. Bon Bon Galaxy is killing me. I just saw a mermaid body and a 1/6 scale human female body. There are a couple resin dolls I would not have purchased if I'd known Bon Bon was releasing these bodies.
Sigh... Live and learn - and resist the FOMO. :whee:

    27. 2 months after ordering, my Bon Bon Philly (bunny) has been shipped today! Airmail though so I guess will take a couple of weeks - it's listed on Royal Mail tracking not the links which Alices gave me in their email BTW

Not sure what I'll do about eyes for her though - I can't paint them so was thinking maybe stickers?

      • x 1
    28. You could try some eye decals like these ones?

      • x 1
    29. ooh thanks for that link @namika :aheartbea I've found some similar on amzon uk which I'm thinking of buying although no idea how big they are or if they're any good - I guess I'll have to find out the hard way LOL

    30. I have two BonBon Galaxy mini dolls at home - Liuli the fox and Philly the bunny! I think they're extremely nice, especially for the price. The nice thing about Philly is that you can put wigs on her - I think I bought just a generic OB11 size and it fit her just fine. It does make the magnet ears slightly weaker, though.

    31. They are lovely IMO @kirchhoff :D Meanwhile I've just had these delivered from amzon (held by my Angel of Dream Shang Nai) I am really hoping they'll be OK for my Philly when she arrives although I am anticipating disaster when it comes to applying them symmetrically LOL - what could possibly go wrong? :whee: The selection of stickers is about £5 a sheet but it's random - this is the sheet I wanted though so I'm happy so far!

    32. Well she's here! :D And wow I am blown away by the quality of this cheap little doll - she's only just over twice the price of one of my Barbie Xtra Minis! Beautifully strung, her head has a lot of movement considering how tiny she is.

Her magnets are super strong compared to some I've had from other manufacturers - Strangely got a little bag with 2 extra magnets in? Maybe for inside a wig? Also a tiny silicone washer, which I'm thinking is for if I want to take her head off? And 2 'bits of resin' which completely baffle me - Anyone have a clue what they're for?

Also a free 'magic eraser'. Beautifully packaged too - seems to have come direct from manufacturers? Anyway - I want more! The eyes are going to be tricky though - I am NOT looking forward to sorting that out...

    33. Well this was very stressful (I need to go and scream on a mountain top now LOL) but I got there in the end! Used up all the left eyes of these particular transfers in the process as, although you can move them after applying when they're still wet, for some reason her left eye kept sticking fast before I'd got it positioned correctly - so I was down to my last eye LOL no pressure :shudder Thankfully they scraped off easily when wet so phew that's a relief

    34. I got the other bunny, Queena, because I already had a Soom bunny with lop ears. I thought someone might like to see a comparison, so here's a picture.

The blue bunny, Blaize, is a dyed Soom Petit Gem. She's a hybrid, but all Soom parts. Leepy body and ears, Ondin face, and the giraffe horns. Anyway, Queena is about the same size but she's so much more shapely! I love her curvy legs and butt. And her feet are more substantial. I wish Queena had magnets in her feet, but I might be able to fix that myself. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this darling for the price. I just need a name and a story for her. I know she's a moon bunny, and Blaize's cousin (Blaize is half moon bunny and half jackalope).
