Bobobie/Resinsoul 14cm and 15cm size dolls discussion part 2

Jul 14, 2012

    1. I'd be interested in buying cases if I could - especially the tiny ones. All my dolls direct from Resinsoul had cases, the ones from Bobobie come in sleeping bags...

    2. Trinlayk: Hotaru clothes are excellent, the wig is so cool.

Fairy Milliner: When I emailed Sun asking about the cases, I think they got confused and thought I wanted to add more dolls to my order. I wrote back asking about cases again but have had no reply :(

    3. I emailed them and they said I could order them separate. And in my opinion they're surprisingly cheap. I only asked about the MSD and Tiny sizes so idk about the SD size. He/she said that the 45cm are $20 and the 20cm ones are $8. Makes me wonder what they're 27cm dolls come in lol.

    4. Yeah, I didn't get a response about the cases for a while, either. I think they also thought I was going to buy more dolls and never told me the prices. Thanks for listing the prices, blueboy57! Also, Sun told me there were only cases for 70cm, 60cm, 45cm, and 30cm dolls. So I'm guessing the 30cm cases hold the 27's. Maybe we just have to ask them the right questions or something >3<

Also, waiting for dolls is soul-destroying. I don't know how people do it so often. A month feels so long...

    5. Blueboy57: thank you for the info. What wording did you use? I have tried carry cases and carrying case.

Aronzo: Yes the waiting, my shoes arrived the other day. Hopefully eyes and clothes will soon aswell. I just measured the case I got pixiu 28cm in and it is 45cm. His wings and tail take up the extra space.

    6. Well hopefully it's not too much longer before Colette gets here. It's almost been 3 weeks so maybe I'm just being dramatic about it. Everybody's dolls here in this thread just make me want a little village of tinies. You guys make them really cute >3<

    7. I called the carrying cases. But in the reply they said "do you mean the dolls handbag?" So I guess that's what they call them lol. And it was weird, I asked for prices for MSD and Tiny using those terms and they gave me the price for 45cm and 20cm. I'm hoping maybe the 20 cm was a typo.

Found an adorable dress. It came from a Disney Princess doll from Toys R Us. The dolls are $9.99 which isn't too bad.

      I have two questions:
      1. Are dolls sprayed with protective sealant over their whole bodies at the factory? Because my doll got blushed and I really hate it, but I don't have any sealant and I don't want to remove it if I'm supposed to seal it back after taking it off. It also doesn't match her face.
      2. How do I position her eyes so she's not giving the thousand yard stare? It freaks my husband out, and I would be happier if she had a more lively look.

    9. My Pixiu came in an MSD case, too, but I thought that was because I ordered two dolls together. I have a second Pixiu who came in a 30 cm case.

    10. Introduce my "Yuna". I made her face up.
I think It's not too bad for first time to face up BJD.

    11. nana_kaa:Yuna's really cute! Your first faceup looks much better than mine was >3<

    12. @cloudsnapper
Not 100%, but I'm pretty confident that you don't need sealant on the body if there's no blush. None of my dolls have been blushed and they don't have any sealant on them. And on the eyes. The key is not to have them perfectly centered. Like look at a real person's eyes. Usually there's more of the sclera (white part) showing on the bottom. So position them as if they're looking up. Once you step back they won't look like they're looking up. Or you could always have them looking to the side, but I haven't tried that. I use glass in all my girls, which in my opinion helps with the blank stare problem too.

    13. That's a great job for a first time! It's also pretty much exactly what I want my doll's face-up to look like. Maybe I should give it a try. I have an extra head because of a mix-up.

I'll try that. I think the eyes may be a little big for that to work properly, but it can't hurt. (Maybe her eyes being too big are the problem? But most of you seem to have the same size eyes and they don't look creepers.) I'm not sure if mine are glass or not. I know I've gotten surprisingly good deals on glass eyes, but I can't remember if they were all for my littlefee or if one of them was for this doll, too. I'll check when I take them out.
      Thanks for the advice!

    14. Aronzo: I have 2 little ones and they are so cute and easy to play with. I am waiting on my first msd. I think I have only been waiting 13 days. oh my :9

Blueboy57: Thanks for letting me know about the wording. I have sent yet another email asking to purchase a 20cm dolls handbag and do they have 70cm and how much. I think I should be able to fit both the tinies into one 20cm case/handbag lol

Cloudsnapper: The dress is lovely. i don't mind her eyes at all. Everyone is different about how they like the eyes, just play with them. I am not sure if they are sealed, I don't think mine are at all.

FairyMilliner: Thats strange that they send different sizes to different people. After I opened the case for pixie it had a huge s hook stuck to the blanket to the wing magnet inside it.

Nana_kaa: Yuna looks incredible, the face up is great. You are very clever.

    15. Aronzo : Thanks!! I don't like her much when she have original makeup. I never think she can turn to be cute, but after I make her this face up, I really like her!!:aheartbea

Cloudsnapper: Thanks!! You need to try one. I'm waiting to see your new face up. ;)

Leisas4 : Thanks!! I need more practice. I want to be better. :)

    16. Update about the carrying cases:
The email I sent saying the words "dolls handbag", was replied to within a day. They said the 20cm are $10 and the 70cm are $30.
Why didn't I ask about more sizes? silly me.

    17. Wow, it's been a few days since we posted here. I'm kinda wondering how many other people have Yu and Elfkin and what they look like together. I'm still not really sure whether or not my girls will be sisters or just close friends. >3< I'm still checking every day to see if Colette's been shipped yet. I'm trying to be less impatient, but she's the first doll I've ever bought brand new. I have most of her stuff here already here except for some more clothes and a pair of shoes.

    18. Ha they must like me better. Told me $2 less on the 20cm case lol.

So I was looking at the RS/BBB Nissa on JS and now my Drow girl thinks she needs a little green goblin slave. Drow priestesses typically get what they want but I'm not so sure about the slave part.

    19. Maybe she could have a little green goblin companion? Servant?

    20. They sent me a picture of the 20cm case/handbag it isn't like the brown ones, it has a floral sort of pattern on it, seems to be more of a cylinder shape with a handle.

    21. Yeah, I've seen those too. I thought somebody made them for their dolls, but I guess those are the real cases. I'll see how the one that comes with my Yu is, and if they're nice enough I might get one, otherwise I'll see about converting it to fit both my little girls.

    22. Hmm...do they make less feminine versions of said handbag/case? lol. I'd probably get a girl doll, but I'm not to keen on carrying a floral case lol.

    23. I'm not sure they would. Those are the only ones I've seen of theirs. I can totally understand not wanting the flowery doll case around, though. I don't think the print is completely hideous, but it'd be nice to have something more conservative.

    24. Here is the picture of the 20cm handbag/ carry case they sent me.

    25. Yup, that's one of the ones I've seen. I wonder how well they're padded.

    26. I will let you know when it arrives and see how it is made.

    27. What are the larger ones like? Are they hard-shell leather cases with padding inside? I'm wondering if I should get one for my MSD.

I was gonna wait until somebody else posted, but I'm just too excited. I bought two Liv dolls for maybe 50 cents each, cut open their heads and got some new eyes. Liv eyes are 10mm acrylics and fit perfectly in Kiwi's eye wells. Most of them look pretty nice. (If you want to bother going back through the thread, the green eyes she was wearing before I got the glass ones are also Liv eyes)

    28. That is good idea for the liv's eyes. Their eyes are so amazing on your doll!! :)

    29. Kiwi's eyes look great. The brown case is made from soft leather look material, there seems to be cardboard sewn in between the materials on the top and the bottom of it, the side are soft. It is a very nice case and with a blanket wrapped around the doll inside seems to be very secure.

    30. So the blanket holds the doll in? I've seen cases with seatbelt type things, but never really a blanket.

    31. There is no straps/seat belt sort of things in it. The case isn't very high, so with the blanket the doll is pretty snug in there.

    32. Okay, that's very helpful. I think I might try building a case, though, since I think I'd prefer a seatbelt sort of thing.

Colette showed up today! I'll have to take some photos to show you guys. She's taller and thinner than Kiwi, so she might end up being the older sister after all.

    33. Just stopping by again to post a picture of my little girls. I have to wait on all sorts of things to do Colette's faceup, but she's still pretty cute.

    34. Aronzo: . Arrived, how long was your wait? they look so sweet. The green eyes I still love them heaps. Did a bag come with her?

    35. I waited a month from when I ordered her for Colette to arrive, but I was worried she'd get caught up in the Spring Festival because I didn't get a shipping notice. She did come with a bag, and it was one of the floral ones. It has a brown pillowy blanket that you wrap her up in, like how you described the other cases having. So as far as a case for my tinies, I feel like I'll be better off making one to hold them all.

    36. I hopefully will get a shipping notice in 2 days. I was thinking about those little plastic or tin school lunch boxes, we could line those with the padded pillows, hot glue? and work out seat belts from those paracord bracelets.

    37. Maybe, that could work. But I think it might be easy to make seatbelts that either buckle shut like a regular belt or that velco together. I don't have many doll pillows, so I'll probably have to make pillows for mine.

    38. My doll arrived, I didn't even get a shipping email. That is exactly 30 days. Great service.
The little bag is very flimsy. I can fit 2 dolls in and zip it up with the little pillow blanket that was in the little bag.

    39. Ah, I was really on the fence about getting an elfkin, theres one in stock on denver doll right now that's perfect for what i want... I think i have to go buy it ;o;
The wait on my zuzu delf is too much, i think i need someone here to help me wait for it @_@

    40. Yup yup I ended up getting the elfkin that was on DDE
      Hooray! I can't wait ;u;

How fast does DDE do shipping for in-stock items by the way?

    41. Yay, another elfkin! I ordered some Pukifee hands from DDE last night and they sent them out today. So hopefully by now, your little one's already on the way. Oh, and I did Colette's faceup today, so here are the sisters all dressed up and everything:

    42. Wrabbit: Congrats, I love my elfkin. The waiting is a bummer. But we get so excited in the end :)

Aronzo: Her face up look wonderful, they are so cute together. I just noticed that they have eye lashes :) How hard were they to put on?

    43. They actually have two different types of eyelashes. Kiwi has regular doll eyelashes like most people buy. Those you just cut down to size, and are very easy to use. Though on Kiwi they seem really close together, like a wall of eyelashes (also had to trim them down a bit) Colette's lashes are like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-Individu...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item5d3a0492bc
I generally go with these eyelashes for dolls because they're easy to place naturally and are easier to trim before applying (if needed). They're really finicky to work with and you can count on losing quite a few clumps while trying to put them in, but I like the look of them better than the others. Plus, you get a lot more for less money.

    44. Oh thankyou for that. I just ordered them :)

    45. No problem! It's hard to find things that work, so when I do, I like to share them with people.

    46. Thats really thoughtful, but you know while I was looking at what else they sell I purchased 8 other items not doll related from them lol
I had never thought to eyelash the little ones and have only done it to my 70cm boy. That was in one strip though.
I was thinking about the bags again. For my big dolls I got a huge flexible tripod bag that has the clip belts in it., not sure if they have smaller sizes.
I also recently got a camera bag for a friends daughter, It had movable wall inserts in it, a tiny in each section with a little blanket pillow would be cute. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Camera-B...ies&hash=item51a6bad024&_uhb=1#ht_7280wt_1141

    47. As soon as I get to order my new (ns) Li, I will be ordering a Dian on a girl body as well.

I love little tiny bjds. But I hate how it is more difficult to find fitting clothes :sweat.

So, I need to ask some questions as I never had a RS bjd that tiny.

.What wig size to Dian have?
      .What eye size?
      .What clothes fit?
      .And what shoes fit?

    48. Usually for wigs, Resinsoul tinies do well with 3/4 or size 4 wigs. For eyes, 10mm and 8mm are recommended. Clothes are actually relatively easy to find--most anything that will fit a Pukifee will fit a RS tiny (though a some clothes might fit loosely) As far as shoes go, though, I'm not sure. I've bought Lati Yellow and they fit with socks on. There's a great seller on Etsy who makes the cutest clothes for tinies. You'll want to look in the Lati Y/Pukifee section.

      Here's the shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/nubanded?section_id=7011822

    49. Thank you so much:) It`ll be much easier now when I know what to look for.

    50. Hotaru whispers "Get the Elfkin... Get the Elfkin" she's such an enabler:

    51. I`m very exited now :) I bought a Loli punk dress and a treasurebox silver purse through Etsy. It`s my first time ordering anything through Etsy.

Now I just need a wig, a pair of eyes and the right kind of shoes. And I am ready to soon (hopefully) order my Dian girl :celebrate

Just a little problem though.. I have no idea what resin color to get my girl in :sweat

trinlayk Wow, she is gorgeous! What is her resin color?

    52. Yes, DDE sent my Elfkin out and I just got the shipping notice today! :D
Say, could you tell me what size Elfkins take of eyes? Im shopping for some demon eyes for him...

    53. haha darn you!
Yep I ended up getting him! Just today I got the shipping notice... Im so excited @_@

    54. Will you be doing a box opening? I can`t get enough of RS/ BBB box openings

    55. Aronzo; Colette and Kiwi look so cute together! :D

Yay for people getting new dollies! :D lol

    56. Elfkins take 10mm eyes (at least that's what works with Kiwi) or if you want a smaller iris size, 8mm eyes will also fit. My RS Yu was sent with a blue set of eyes, but she also came with yellow ones. So maybe wait and see if yours comes with yellow eyes? I think they also send dolls with red eyes (but don't quote me on that, i have a terrible memory)

    57. Sky blue... she looks adorbs in just about every color I've put her in, except bright blues...

    58. I really love that color now that I`ve seen this picture. I was originally going to get my Dian girl in purple or light grey. But now I`m a little bit unsure what color to go for.

    59. Hi!!! I've been eyeing these tinies for awhile and they are on top of my want-to-buy list, so I have a few questions :

-Wig size for Lucky? Wig size for Yu? Wig size for Erin/Eric?
      -Shoes that fit??

Oh, and I know that Erin and Eric are 14.5 cm, but will Pukifee-slash-lati yellow outfits fit them too?
thanks all, really loving the pics here^^
and does Pukifee hands work for these tiny guys??

    60. Here's Hotaru again, with my friend's (Hi MVB!) Trick (Sunny in Green)

MVB has a Jun (MSD size) in the blue and color wise is right in the middle of these two.
I was SURE I had a photo of the 3 of them together, but can't find it right now...

though HERE is a photo of Hotaru (sky blue) on the lap of Nereus (the regular blue)
under florescent lighting if I remember right. http://www.flickr.com/photos/trinlayk/8358645971/
