Bobobie/Resinsoul 14cm and 15cm size dolls discussion part 2

I did see that someone posted they had 8mm in their Yu and I believe the Yu and Dian are pretty much the same height. But I've also put 10mm and 12mm in my Bao's so....

 

My Yu has 8mm eyes in right now. They're acrylics.

Wow, they both look good. Now I'm not sure which size to order. DT eyes are very inexpensive so I could order both without breaking the bank, but I already have a rather large eye collection. The dolls never make things easy, do they?

 

Has anyone used the patterns from My Own Little World for BBB dolls? The patterns have Lati Yellow/PukiFee size in it, but I read someone at the marketplace say she bought either PukiFee or Lati Yellow brand clothes for her BBB and they didn't look right.
I'm only asking because the patterns aren't cheap and I don't want to finish a difficult pattern just to have it look bad.
I'm looking at the Anchors Away sailor outfits, the I Candy sweet dresses and pinafores, and maybe the Tooshies and Tootsies underwear and socks patterns.
Erin needs more clothes than the simple dress I made for her out of charm squares. It's strapless, and even a little slipping makes it fall down and show her chest. Besides the slipping, I like it, though.

 

Unfortunately, I find that a lot of lati yellow clothing is just too large for my Yu. But it also depends on the type of clothing. This MLP dress is actually made for lati yellow, but it just looks like an oversized dress:


I don't know about other styles of dress, I actually have a sort of lolita style dress coming in that is listed as lati yellow, so we will see if that fits her. I wouldn't try any hats or socks though, because those are always too big.

The resinsoul tinys (yu and dian) are quite a bit slimmer than the BBB tinys. My Elfkin wore lots of lati yello clothes and they were about perfect. Latis are a little taller, so pants may need to be shortened about one centimeter, and their heads are much bigger, so hats won't fit. Otherwise I think they are about perfect.

Thank you very much! >< Yukito did a wonderful job with her, if I get my friend's macro lens I really want to share the detail that has been done to her eyes, espcially. You can't see it but her blonde lower lashes are both thin and very dense, very well painted.

Just curious, does anyone have any Bobobie tinies in dark tan from way back when they were first released and any made more recently? I'm wondering if there is a huge difference in tones. My baby is an old dark tan I'm pretty sure.

Though as for my two, I'm thinking of re-working them but keeping the eyes I bought. I might go for something along the lines of the embodiment of Yin and Yang [the male and female energies], any ideas for that?

Hey guys. I just purchased my first resin BBB Lucky. She will be her in a few weeks. The shoes for my hujoo babies arnt the right size..so i must find her some shoes. (yay shopping!) But i'm wondering what size? I've seen a lot of Lati yellow (3.4cm shoes) but wonder if they will fit properly? I buy a lot from mimiwoo(ebay)..?

Nimbus_life Congrats on ordering your Lucky, they have 2.4cm feet the same as elfkins.(my measurement is 2.2cm when I measured)
I had black mary janes for blythe here and they fit him perfectly, I had to stretch the back a touch to get them on but they fit.

 

Those eyes are gorgeous! Where did you get them? Also, I'd love to see your tan Moony. When was the little darling made? Is it dark or light tan?

 

Leric's wig finally arrived after a month of waiting

He's a light tan, made a year or so ago, and as for the eyes, they were from Safrin Doll
He's on the left, next to a natural-toned sunny;

 

Mitya, thank you I love him. The clothes are a cheap Ken ripoff that I cut and took in.
I do have a mohair wig on the way, I will put a pic off that up and we can see what works best.
The only thing that bothers me with this wig is the seem was sewn of that right blue bit that sticks out.

 

Hey guys and gals. I wanted to mention that I got my bobobie lucky today! I'm gonna post my first picture of her tomorrow! Plus some free patterns. Apparently she fits my hujoo baby dresses! Her chest is a tad wider, but the placement of the snaps or Velcro will fix that!! Lots of crochet and sewn clothes :-) ps. Her name might be willow. But I'm trying it out for the day first. ;-)

 

Ok! I couldn't wait! Here is Willow.. I made the furniture, carpet, clothes and wig. She's my first resin doll and I can't believe how awsome she is! I've already re-strung her and sueded her joints. She is much more posable now...I might try pipecleaners for her arms tho. Her permanent wig (monique wig-jessica style) and shoes are still in the mail. :p

These are the firsts wigs I have ever made. The white one I used the pattern from the internet 3 piece one. The dark one I made in one piece and it was so much easier.

Ok. So here is my Willow...that of course I have renamed.. Lidia..it just came to me when I was dressing her up for her photo shoot..so I'm keeping Willow as her second name. :-p

Here is Lidia meeting her new friend! She was climbing a huge evergreen tree and came across this poor lost cockatiel!


She came right to Lidia with hardly any coaxing. Lidia is making her a cage tonight and thinking of a name! Any ideas?

 

Lidia looks great and I love her new name, as for her new friend, I have no idea of a name. I still have to think of a name for my girl before she arrives, I wanted something to go with Leric's name but I don't like the idea of Lucy for her.

 

Hmm! Well if you look up the meaning of Leric it always bounces to "lyric" as a different spelLing... Rina means "joyous song" or I like Lana

Oh yay! Welcome little one! She's just so cute!just like her brother! She's making me want one just like her!

 

On a sad note, Lidia got her shoes and the converse micro shoes are a bit large..gonna have to stuff the toes. Lol. Her dress shoes look great tho! I'll post a pic in a bit. Shoes are tricky I find with this doll. The hujoo baby shoes are too small and the lati yellow are a bit big :-/

 

Ok.. One more question and I'll stay away for a bit.. Anyone have very noticeable sanding on their dolls head? The whole top of Lidias head and a scuff by her left eye. I'm still in love with her factory faceup, but what should I do to fix this when I do want a new faceup?

Shoes are hard to find, I had some blythe mary janes and they fit Leric. The sanding, you would need a very fine grade sandpaper and she would have to be sealed before a new face up.

Does the RS Yu come in tan? I thought it did, because there was a dealer at Dragon*Con last weekend who I thought told me it did. It was sold out in all human colors by the time I had talked to my husband about getting it (hadn't planned for it in the con budget, ya know ^_^)
Resin Soul's site doesn't have it listed for purchase in tan, but it seems to have the color in the picture at the bottom with several dolls in it. http://www.resinsoul.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?id=319
Junkyspot only has Yu in gray.
Are there any other US sites that sell it that may have tan (preferred,) or "normal"? I ordered my BBB Erin from the BBB website and it took months to get in. I understand that's how it works now, but I'd rather pay a bit more and not have to wait or deal with international shipping.

In fun news, I ordered patterns from MyOwnLittleWorld on Etsy. Anchors Away (sailor suits), I Candy (pinafores and fluffy dresses), and Tooshies and Tootsies (undies and socks. I shouldn't have gotten this one, too expensive for what it's going to be, I think). I wanna go out and get cute fabrics for them, but I already have some good stuff at home, so I'll hold off.

 

Denver Doll might have one in normal skin.

Resinsoul does have her in light tan - it's called 'coffee' on their site. The only colours they don't list is dark grey and dark tan (chocolate). Those colours have to be special ordered by e-mail.

 

Oh, I thought coffee would mean really dark brown. That's a little bit confusing. Thanks for clearing it up!

denver dolls doesn't have a light tan/coffee in stock though, so be warned they take 3-4 months for a pre-order...if you dont want to wait long, your best bet is to order through resinsoul direct. It will only take 1 month direct, but shipping will be a little bit more.

And while I'm here, can anyone point me in the direction of a good place to find clothing to fit a doll this size? The dress she's got on now is the only clothing I have for her.

 

If you search for pukifee clothes on Etsy you can find some nice stuff. Some of it is a bit overpriced, but a lot looks great. I haven't actually ordered anything from there, though.

lucky for me I live in denver so i just swung by DDE and picked her up after like a week of debating it. her eyes are a little off.. thinking of switching her to glass anyway.. what size fits these guys?

One of my pairs of shoes from the bobobie site just somehow got really damaged. They're bright pink fake leather mary-janes. The material has a thin coating with the color and texture of the leather on it. Well, somehow I put the shoes on and they were fine, then a couple minutes later I noticed that the thin coating had ruptured or torn and you could see the white fuzzy stuff that's underneath! I have a couple other pairs, so no biggie, but it's just so weird. I was holding it but not manhandling it at all.
Would shoes marketed for PukiFee and Lati Yellow fit? The Bobobie website doesn't sell the shoes anymore. They didn't have much selection, anyway.

 

I saw Aide her first dress!!! I got her on October of last year and since there the only clothes that she had was a dress that I got from Ebay. But finally I got the time and courage to make her a dress. Now, she only needs some shoes!

 

I'm curious about the shoe thing too. I'm a new Resinsoul owner, and I would really like to buy some shoes for my Yu, but I can't seem to find any information about it. I'll keep looking.

Meanwhile, I have one pair of shoes that were meant for a Hasbro playline doll that fit his feet. Baby Alive Crib Life. Pink sparkley gel slip on sandals. They're a little small, I'm certain if they were closed heel shoes they wouldn't fit. Bought it in a package with a little pink frilly dress. Dress also fits.
