Bobobie/Resinsoul 14cm and 15cm size dolls discussion part 2

A steampunk sailor suit would be good -- sailor suits were usually for male children in Victorian England, but if you could "girly" one up, that would fit the theme (and likely be easier to make/find)

My Yu has been ordered! Even though I love elf ears, I wanted a tiny with human ears and Sun said 'yes'. And I asked of i could order an extra head with sleepy eyes too! I cannot wait until she is here!

 

I am looking at sailor suits! That's cool you're a historian- I did costuming in college so I'm all about historical costumes. Do you know of any patterns for tinies?

Sadly, hyssop, I don't sew and have no idea about patterns for a sailor suit . . sorry! But I am sure there is someone on DoA who could help. Have you tried posting in the Workshop threads that deal with making clothes for your dolls?

And yes it is cool to be a historian. I am nosey for a living!

Hello! I'm here on behalf of my daughter. She's 9 and doesn't have an email-adress yet. But she bought herself her first own BJD, a Lucky Boy. His name is Jack Grey and he is a great kicker. I tightened his strings today and it's better but not good. No pics, as he's naked as the Great Manufacturer made him. I'm knitting him a sweater right now. The pattern is made for Pukifee, but I make it a bit slimmer. Jack needs pants, like right.now. The first ones I made are too short in the waist (hanging almost on his butt) and the fabric was too thick. New ones are already in the making. When he's clothed, I'll post pics of him.

I have my Yu's wig, shoes, dress (including a very sweet gift of a tiny sweater!) that I ordered but not my girl! Somehow my apartment number got left off of my address so it was "undeliverable". I called the PO and they said they would leave a note for the carrier, but if she doesn't see it it's going to get sent back to The JunkySpot...!

 

After pulling his strings tighter, knitting him a sweater (still have to sew on a snap) and sewing him some pants, here he is: Jack Grey.

boggie0909 on eBay makes really cute fur wigs for 12cm heads in all kinds of colors.

 

I thought asking Tabloach for a special wig, but that will be an alternative. Thank you!

My Yu is still on her way back to JunkySpot, I think. Emory said once she gets there I'll have to pay shipping again, which I am of course fine with. I can't believe I did such a bonehead thing like leave off my apt number!! I made her a cloak the other day and got a basket which I am going to make into a "nest" for her. I also "stained" some raw wood tiny toys with watercolors.

 

Berwyn, my normal skin RS Yu is here! She is a little nature spirit who is very patiently waiting for something more comfy than her cloak to sleep on!





She is very kicky- I think she is strung too tightly? Is this a restringing situation? I also bought white pipe cleaners because someone mentioned using them in this thread, I think, but I'm not sure what quite to do...?

 

I switched out Berwyn's eyes because I feel that they should be more gray? I'm going to order some silicone eyes from Safrin Doll when the color I want is back in stock. I might be eye shopping for her foster mother by then, too! Meanwhile, Berwyn says, wake up, thread!

 

My little one is super kicky as well. I didn't think about pipe cleaners. I'll have to give it a try. I had a hard time with the hot glue sueding and have peeled it all off. Mostly because I was very impatient when I worked on her. (She is a girl for now)

 

I think the kickyness is kind of abating as her elastic stretches. Or I hope! What is your girl's name?

 

Hyssop, my little one's name is Thistle. Here are a couple of pics of her. She doesn't have a wig mostly cause I can't find one that I like on her. She also still has her factory face-up.

Yay, thread activity! I went on a wee binge for Berwyn today (ordered her new eyes from SafrinDoll [again! i am rapidly developing a huge backstock of eyes], and three new outfits from nubanded!). We are both impatiently waiting for her foster mother Rosemary to join us!

 

Still waiting on Berwyn's new outfits, but here she is with Rosemary (and her new eyes)! As you can see, they have quite taken to each other!

@ElvenArcher Miro is so cute!! She's really tempting me to get Berwyn a cheerful Elfkin friend- sometimes I think she looks too serious all the time! Did you make her outfit?

Berwyn's Nubanded outfits came! They're sized for Pukifee so they're a touch wide and short, but I think they're adorable so I did a little photoshoot.

@Queennova201 The elf-eared tinies by Bobobie/Resinsoul are Elfkin (like @ElvenArcher Miro above), Yu (my Berwyn above), and Dian. Sunny and Moony have horns and kind of fluted ears, and then the rest have human ears.

Waiting on a little Yu in chocolate to be my Mei's daughter She'll eventually get her other mama, as well, but I have to save up for her. She'll be a chocolate RS mini (not sure whom yet).

Hope you don't mind a newbie jumping in, but I am hopefully close to done with the long (4 months so far) wait on my elfkin boy (first of 2 planned elfkins) and I was curious if the company face up varies between genders?

My Yu baby is stuck in delivery - I emailed Sun a few days ago at RS and was told my shipment had already gone out, and when I checked the shipping history it said it was in New York on Tuesday. Well yesterday it magically got all the way to Michigan and they tried to deliver it but no one was home! I'm hoping someone's home to receive her today, or that the mail personnel just leave it. Otherwise I'll have to visit the post office to pick her up. I'm so anxious to see what her faceup looks like and what size she actually is.

 

I just ordered my Yu from Junkyspot! I hope to be able to show off some pictures soon This thread is making me so excited about my new doll.

 

Resinsoul Yu was supposed to be home today but the mailman decided that we weren't home (there were two cars in the driveway and he didn't even bother to try knocking) so I will have to wait until Tuesday to meet her At least it gives me something to keep looking forward to.

 

@BlueCircus awe, that sucks! My Yu baby got stuck at the post office and I didn't know I had to pick her up til 3 days after she'd been sitting there. Waiting is hard! I was super happy with the caliber of my Yu. She's pretty adorable ^_^

 

That sucks you two. I know how you feel. When i ordered my Resinsoul doll the mailman forgot he had her and came back luckily and delivered her.

 

Where do you guys get your wigs? I ordered one and it is beautiful but it is too big.

Hi I'm currently waiting on my first Bobobie, an elfkin boy and I know Bobobie's often need to be restrung/sueded and I was wondering if someone could tell me what size elastic I should be looking for if I need to replace his stringing?

 

Little Rowan got her wig in today! It needs some taming but here it is. It's lovely And excuse my thumb...
Also, I'll hopefully be getting her some green eyes soon. The ones from junkyspot still look nice though!

 

Guys someone from a group on facebook told me monster high clothes fit the tinies! I collect monster high so i will have a couple outfits for when i get my elfkin! I don't know if anyone had said that before but it definitely is good idea if you need clothes.

 

The 'Bratz' clothes fit too, at least most of them (skirts/shorts, tops) ^_^

 

Haha good thing I work at walmart. I can use my discount on them.

 

My new (as-yet-to-be-named) Yu girl can wear some vintage Bratz clothes from my childhood xD

@amirahfae She does have such tiny feets! I bought some Pukifee sized that were much too big- I did find some Monique ankle strap shoes that fit, though! When I get home I'll look at the size.

The 24mm were the shoes! She can't stand in them but she can't stand anyway, so I'm not sure it is the shoes' fault!

 

@hyssop, yes, she is dark tan! I happened to have bought her when DT was one of the available options so I didn't even have to special order ^_^ I'm having a hard time coming up with a name for her though. She needs a proper wig and a name (and some shoes) and then she'll be complete

Currently hopeful that my wait for my Elfkin girl in blue will be finished soon (it'll be one month on Thursday since I ordered. That's if they're finished in one month... I can't find a Bobobie waiting room so I can't tell what current wait times are)

I was going to justify buying her by making all her clothes, however whilst I will be making her clothes I cracked this morning and ordered her some shoes, a dress, a sweater and shorts...

I'm no good at this waiting stuff...

 

My Elfkin Leif finally arrived after a long, somewhat stressful wait. (I ordered him the first of last September)
He's definitely a little adventurer and could not wait to get out exploring and climbing the tree in our yard.


I still need to get him some boots, (does anyone know what size elfkin's wear?) and maybe remake his outfit when I'm not in such a hurry, but I do think he's a little cutie!
His posing is so-so, especially after playing with a pipos cheshire, but I'm hoping if I suede him it will help. Does anyone know if sueding helps enough or if I'll need to see about wiring him too?

Her temporary name is Violetta, until I decide whether I want to keep it that or change it to something else. I'm taking suggestions!

Edited to add: She's wearing an 'Our Generation' mini Lori coat. They're close to AG minis in size. It's a little baggy, but just looks adorably a bit oversized. The top that came with it fits like a short dress, and the leggings didn't fit. The shoes fit on another doll I have (SleepingElf/Tinybear CoCo on fat faeries body).
