Bobobie and Resinsoul mini discussion Part 7

PinkCow I'm pretty much a lurker on this thread. I do have 3 RS minis (Wu and Ju twins) but don't post much - people would get pretty bored with the same ole' pictures of these three! But I do love the sculpts and love reading about everybody else's current dolls and plans. So stay here -- don't leave us!!

 

I have been waiting for them to do a hooved boy. I think with the right faceup he could really be a handsome and maybe evil looking boy.
I think I will wait to see him in person before i make any decision on weather or not to get him.

 

Manabusama~ ^o^ SO NEAT! I want your packages home T_T I want someone to order him so we can get some user photos asap! T_T I'm so demanding XD

Elfqueenvik~ *nodnodnodnodnod* I'm all with you on that. My "prince" is going to be a handsome but devilish and a little cruel. I can totally see ming being exactly perfect... ^o^ *too excited*

On a different note, I realized I need -alot- of pictures to make my blog dolls for my blog >.< If anyone can post pictures for me it'd be really helpful. Face close ups with a sprite, ju or mei (for comparison) of Yao, Li, or Rong that would be ABSOLUTELY AWESOME.

Just spent some time restringing my Espree Kisho- I must've tied a knot badly or done something odd with her foot, all of a sudden the elastic popped out of the S hook and there went her whole left leg! (Thank goodness I was sitting on my bed... would've been awful to have resin body parts all over the floor...) Did enjoy playing 'doctor' in my basement though, haha! The look on Dad's face... xD

All this talk of Ming makes me excited, even though I know I don't have any characters I could use him for!

Nikopico- That would be the most epic baby shower gift EVER. xD

I'm having the WORST luck deciding on sculpts right now. I was wondering if any one can compare (like post side-by-side pics if possible) of:
Song Vs. Tony Vs. An (I can't tell if Song and Tony are the same sculpt just one is in human form? And I'm TORN between Song and An )

Are Iruhi's ears removable or are they sculpted on?

Also if anyone can compare Mei and Sprite.

Sorry for asking so many questions! I've been looking at individual pictures of these guys and now I'm even more torn/confused than when I started!

 

Iruhi's ears are magnetic! You can totally remove them. ^_^

OMG Thank you Sirius53Black! Is your gorgeous boy the dark tan? *drools* These sculpts are like potato chips! Oh no my wishlist grew some more! He looks like he's on a double jointed body, did you have to request that or that the default?

@Guls207: the Iruhi sculpt (exclusive Featherfall head) comes on which ever body you chose boy or girl double or single jointed, but the dark tan was a limited time only for the Iruhi sculpt from Featherfall. However you can get any of the other resinsoul/bobobie sculpts in dark tan by messaging Bobobie or Resinsoul directly, Featherfall will not let you order in dark tan.

Ok I need you guys to help me decide on what color I should get. I want a Ming to become Llyrr who is Amalthea's companion. Now they are both Unicorns but Amalthea is ancient so she is pure white. Young unicorns are not pure white. Llyrr wil be a young unicorn but I can;t decide between the old blue or the new blue. I am checkeing the thread with color comparaison but does anyone have a light blue and the new Skyblue next to each other? It would help me decide.

He is indeed the chocolate tan...he was a limited release in that color though with the fullset they released back in April. And yes he comes default with the double jointed body.

I would have loved to have him in the dark tan, but I guess they won't be selling him in that colour any time soon... I think BBB makes better bargains than RS when it comes to LE - at least people outside the USA can order Espree or Sprite direct from the site, in any possible colour...

Thank you so much! The comparison helped A LOT! I was looking for the right sculpt for a character and I think Song is the perfect sculpt for him! It's a real shame they won't take orders for the dark tan. I understand that the darker the resin, the more obvious the flaws, but since he's an exclusive sculpt, it's and even bigger tragedy. I guess light tan is still an option.

Oh. it wasnt BBB or RS that decided to do that. Only doing DT on a couple of Iruhi boys is all on FF. FF is deciding to control how and what people can order from them. I know they are a bit sticklers like people asking for custom faceup, and BBB/RS says Yes, but when you ask FF to do it they say no.

I love the Rong sculpt, I think she has such a beautiful face..

If you want Song in Dark tan I would suggest contacting Resinsoul directly by email it is $20 for dark tan, there is not an option on their website so you have to do it by email.

 

I love the Yao body so much more than the Ai body, however I have leg warmers on my Ai and it makes her look much better...since the Ai hooves you can see the ball at the top, I like how the Yao and Ming have the hairpart covering the hoove.

Jun is looking forward to his new home So out of curiousity what do you have planned for him? What kinda style is he going to have?

Lol thanks! I'm actually getting Song in light tan! It's really a shame about Iruhi though I think I would have LOVED him in dark tan. Maybe An, Mai or Ju would be nice in dark tan! (yes I know...I forgot to mention Ju and Rong also on the list -_-)

Should I even bother with a wishlist at this point and just safely say I want ALL of them? ROFL!

 

I use my wish list to shuffle them in order of which one I want to order *first*...

lol...pretty much...my list is more like a guideline. These are the dolls I have characters for and these are ones I just have to have just because. Lets see in the MSD I still need Pixie, Jun, Ju, Lu and Ming(on order)...there is Lu, Tiah and Espree, but I'm not to fond of Tiah and Lan so much and Espree is the same as Sprite and Ariel which I already have.

 

so everyone it is not goodbye but I am saving up to have Nox reshelled as a dark grey ju head on the double jointed body so you will have to say bye to her for a little bit until she is reborn in the meantime you guys can enjoy my other dolls I have another girl coming in soon!!

 

I'm slightly amused - most of you seem to be DT crazy and FF tells me this
Andrea - we released one doll in the dark tan ( Chocolate) colour ( which is a special order colour), a LE Iruhi to test out the popularity of the colour and sadly it was not popular enough for us to release as a regular option for all the RS dolls we offer.

So.. i guess if you all want FF to "offer it" you gotta bombard them like crazy?

 

lol..interesting..because they sold out of all the dark tan before the pink Iruhi girl which they had as exclusive set as well...they said they were only going to sell X amount of them and they sold all of them out. Sooo seems like enough people were interested.

Yea I think FF is just kinda... got their heads up their collective rear ends. I suppose we should start getting on their FB and all of us be as obnoxious as possible with our "When you gonna let us get the Darkies yo!" then maybe they'll finally pull their heads out and see the sun.

Ok, Feather fall agrees that if we can get 50 people on a petition who are doll collectors interested in the dark tan or dark grey they'll possibly carry it. I'm willing to join the petition but I don't know how to start one. I'm assuming they mean on FB. And they made the "actual collectors" stipulation, so I'm trying to decide what would "prove" we collect them >.>

I gave up on FF awhile ago based on their "excellent" customer service. I would much rather spend the extra on shipping not to have to deal with them. Sorry if this comment is annoying, I'm just really annoyed at them. It should be enough that people want to buy it, customers shouldn't have to beg for the "privilege" to buy from them. They should be like "Hey people want to buy this, let's get it for them."

Penguin-chan.... I never really liked the Wu sculpt.. and then I looked at Reeve. And now I need him. Darn you Resinsoul and your amazing sculpts. >< My wallet cries but my heart is full of happiness! : D

 

I've been working hard all weekend to pull this girl together. She's my new RS lilac Mei and her character was inspired by (of all things) a swap here on DoA for Monster High cosplay. You know me...any unusual idea that strikes me can be sudden inspirational grist for the mill. I didn't even know what "Monster High" was...but it looked interesting and when I researched it further, my creative subconscious just went off on a wild tangent all it's own. When I woke up the next morning, I had a full blown, full time character in mind! So here she is...Gothirella LaFrance, a 17-year-old foreign exchange student from the catacombs beneath Paris, now attending Monster High here in the states.

 

Penguin and Poetic Soul, Your dolls look amazing. With all the fantasy colors, RS dolls are so suited for MH customization.

PoeticSoul~ Niiice. while I'm not fond of the monster high dolls i agree that the ideas can be cool, and you've clearly just made something far cooler than most of what they could ever think of. I looooove her lips and those butterflies are way cool...

Zarkadi~ i'm pretty sure Rs white is not compatible, at least new. I know that soom white is more of a beauty white (starts off creamy) and Rs is decidedly paper white, but blushing and age should pull them close enough to work... As for the secretly buying a doll... both my sister and I have not told family about at least one doll until after it's here and we've had it for a while... so >.> it's not too bad to do... but make sure you can handle keeping it a secret cus that's the hardest part.

Love her! Love the name, those horns are pretty amazing to and Love the Monster High Dolls I have like all of them..lol.

 

Monster High is strangely cute, I have one - the blue girl.. mind escapes me but shes fishy! (and their heads are so squishy!)
Shes absolutely beautiful. I love love love the top and the purple tights- are they spandex?

The "petition" thread could be starte on DOA i guess? Since FF has a doa account & we all do. Not sure where that would go.

 

I'm begining to think that perhaps this is why FF was ok with saying "well get a petition started". maybe they hoped it would confuse us or we'd loose steam >.< On other forums I know where to start petitions... but i have no idea on either here or face book where to start one. unfortunately i don't think we have 50 people here on DoA at this moment... with FB we can post a link on FF's page and people who read it might join us. i just don't understand why they need so much interest. we're not asking them to carry the colors in stock... we just want to be able to preorder them...

 

Lynn Nexus: Hah, knowing myself I won't be able to Dx I get all these nice ideas about putting a Ming head on a soom body with hooves and dyeing them grey, alternatively blush them blue-grey to match.

Zarkadi~ well I can try... I don't think the Soom body is big enough for the RS head. going the other way the body required modding to look correct, I don't know that the head could be modded to look "right" and not bobble headed... Does that help?

Kittywolf~ Hmmmm well having it here would mean that people would have to have a vested interest because they'd already joined DoA >.> unles anyone has a better idea...
