That's a great idea. ^-^ Someone I was talking to recently has done the same thing for their departed kitty, and they have him pose with their memorial box. I got the angel and devil wings also. :3 I think they include a little halo and black point that goes on the tip of the tail (devil tail!) but it looks silly with my cat being white... although.. with the black wings it kinda works. :3 I can't wait to take more pictures of him with my dolls~

Thanks~ :3 My girls didn't want to sit to well either, but after tighening them and hot glue sueding, they sit really well! Sueding really did make a huge difference with my girls! Although they really need some new elastic.. theirs is still what they came with and it's pretty much out of stretch...

 

A bit of tightening and sueding goes a long way with these dolls I find. When I got Spock, the poor guy was nicknames Mr. Floppy because of how loose RS dolls are when they first arrive...but a few days later we completely re-strung him, making sure he was good and tight, and sueded him while we were at it. He stood like a dream after that.

Which reminds me that his torso joint is now in need of re-sueding...hmmm...

 

Uhhh... after I restrung the RS body, it became SO kicky!! Annoys the heck out of me =w= IMO, he poses better when the body's loosely strung.

 

One of Kitiblu's arms is kicky, I'll barely move her and her arm flings up, Tacmota's legs were doing that at first but they are fine now. I still have the original elastic, I'll proabably eventually restring them and suede. Off to design some clothing, going to Matsuricon in a few weeks one of my dollies will have to go with me...would prefer it to be my Obitsu(OT here) but she is still out for faceup...decisions, decisions can't carry both around with me..sigh

 

My RS Rong body is posing MUCH better since I sueded everything but her ankles and wrists. Still, she's definitely a stander, not a sitter...

I'm afraid I may have caught something off BB, I've been considering getting a floating head, or just another boy doll. I hate my friend, she is such an enabler. She has an RS Song (I believe he's currently on a Luts body, but the head's pretty old and the resin match is scarily good) and she was just in the process of giving him a new face-up when I turned up- and he looks gorgeous. So I'm dead. I want one so badly now. ;w;
Also she has the luts summer event head and even without a face-up it's gorgeous so again, I am dead.

She got her new eyes in from Safrin Doll ("Lunar Eclipse"). What's everyone think?

(I soooo can't wait for her Blue Leeke wig and I'm getting ready to place a Dollmore order for a full outfit!!!)

I've had s-hooks for Sprite for ages, but not put them in. So I unstrung her, hot glue sueded her belly and wrists, and restrung her (still with the years-old BBB elastic she came with) with one elastic in a starfish shaped with loops through each arm, into her head, and into her belly, and the other elastic looped through each leg then up through her crotch piece and threaded through the top elastic. Then I tightened each one until I was happy and knotted them in her belly. And gave her eyelashes at last for good measure. Basically, did everything I always meant to do for the poor neglected fairy except make her wings.



I haven't put her wires back in - didn't need to. She's standing like a rock, even on an uncertain surface like the quilted bed runner she's standing on. It's a novel experience, being able to stand her there to take pictures without worrying that she's going to flop. Her arms pose as well as the sculpt allows, and her wrists are much improved. I'm chuffed.

@ Autumnrain I love her hair and her dress, although she does remind me of the "Nox" from Stargate SG1 but that is an awesome program and the Nox look awesome ->

LolaWants - Ayanami looks so lovely. I really love the eyes. How do you find them though? I've heard contradictory things about Safrin Doll and was just curious to know what you thought about the eyes. I'm planning on buying half-a-dozen pairs of eyes for all my guys from there and was just curious to know what you made of them.

Oh, and about the restringing thing. I found Spock to be kicky even when he was loose and taking a better look at his knee joint, I think that's just a hazzard of him being single jointed. Doesn't matter if he's loose or tight, he kicks. Kirk is better because of the double joints and so I really can't wait for RS to do a DJ boy, cause I would really like to get Spock a DJ body so he can do some of the more complicated poses that Kirk does.

 

I love Safrin Doll and it's the first place I check when looking for eyes. Almost all my dolls have eyes from Safrin (not the ones she makes, but ones she acts as a dealer for). Payment has always been super easy and the eyes shipped wicked fast and inexpensively. They were always exactly as pictured, too.

I was going to have her make me a pair of eyes to match ones I currently have, but I decided to go with a pair of ready made ones from Souldoll as in discussions with Jenny, she said she'd try to do a match but that due to photographs/monitors, it might not work out how I wanted it. She was very upfront about that but said she was still willing to try if I wanted. The price for custom colour eyes was very reasonable and even less than a pair of say... Soom or Souldoll eyes.

I have seen a pair that she's made (a person in my local doll group has a pair) and they're very nice and make me think that when I get Ryzel and Quin, I may have her make me a custom pair in the shade I want.

Thank you so much! I love these eyes so much! Your girl looks AMAZING! I wish I had your ambition because both my BBB and my DZ MSD could use some Sueding/Restringing. I've never done EITHER and I'm not nervous about it, just a little gun-shy to take on a WHOLE NEW thing.

I'm crossing my fingers. I'd really like to get her look finished. The clothes/wig she's in now just DOESN'T work and I think it makes her look cheap (more-so in person than in pics). She really need some quality items to make her gorgeous sculpt really POP.

I could honestly be a Safrin Doll sales person. I love love love her eyes and I won't buy from anyone else. I ONLY buy Safrin brand (not the one's she sells from other companies). I find the colors to be INCREDIBLY accurate to what is pictured. I always get exactly what I order, no surprises. The colors are so deep and complex, the eyes just have TONS of demention and depth that, in my oppinion, make the dolls appear to have more "life".

They are made to order, and even that doesn't slow down the order-arrival time. They keep you updated throughout the process, it's only a couple days, and BAM! Perfection. All of my dolls right now (except 1) are wearing Safrin eyes. The only reason 1 is not is because I'm not sure which ones to choose! lol. Plus... $10 a pair... I mean REALLY? You can NOT go wrong for that price. Quality + Affordable = Customer for life.

I am not surprised at all. Part of what makes Safrin so awesome is the customer service. BUY SAFRIN BRAND EYES!!!! lol

 

You don't have to tell me. I love Safrin, too! She's my absolute favorite!

So got bored last night, dollies were complaining about being naked so I made them some little undergarments.


T: *flexing* "Hey baby...come here often.." K: *rolls eyes* "Oh...Please.."

Tacmota's little boxers were very easy used some old spandex from a shirt I made eons ago. Kitiblu's little number was recycled from an old lace shirt, didn't have some much stretch to it so I had to add small snaps to the back of her cami, stockings were tricky too since they didn't have enough stretch so they are a little baggy at her ankles.

Now to get to work on their cosplay outfits for Matsuricon! I think tonight will be wig time.

Unfortunantly I know exactly what is under poor Tacmota's boxers, and regretfully it really ain't much! XD Tremis wears a lot of baggy jeans, and Liina likes his blue pants. I need to get back to sewing. I haven't sewed in almost a year! O-O

yay I realized how it looked but, hey at least he is not naked anymore..lol. I did make a pattern for pants last night as well, sewed it up in some muslim fabric and they look like they are going to fit perfect, definitely more baggy in the "packed"(hehe) area, but I think I will slim down the pant legs as right now the are kinda wide leg styled. Also created patterns for shirt, vest and jacket will need to try those out at some point as well.

@dumbunneh- yes the blonde hair looks nice with the skin color, but I have black hair with some blue streaks in mind for this character. I have a 2 SD's that I'm looking at, may make another in sky blue the other is going to be lilac. I must have all the resin colors..lol..gotta love dolly addictions.

It should fit, yes ^_^
The only heads that won't fit are Lu's and Lan's.

 

Lawlietuser: It should! I have an Espree head on the Rong body (same head as Sprite, just human ears) and it fits great!

Do not that my girl's neck hole in the head is hot glue sueded. However, without the sueding, it should fit just fine, too.

Utsumi Resinsoul/BBB Resin is a solid color, not dyed, no matter what color you order. But if you sand certain ones you can still create lighter looking spots.

I feel like an idiot... here I was flubbing about, thinking that I was going to have to wait for RS to release hooves, completely overlooking the fact that Angelheim makes MSD sized hooves. And someone put them on a Mei and it looks awesome. xD

They have totally been added to my wishlist.

I was wanting Sindri originally to have hooves [fae and all...] but now I wonder if Mirai would look nice with them...

I've had bonding issues with Mirai lately. I just don't know what to do with her. I wiped her faceup, thinking that a new face might help. But I'm now thinking about just giving her a sex change! Boy Ju's are so nice. xD

I vote for boy Ju, dumbunneh! You could always try her head on Sindri's body and play around with looks and see what you think.

Also my reaction to the Mei with the AH hooves was, "Oh god that's sexy." Totally misplaced, but I love those hooves. A friend of mine is getting Luka with his hooves, so when they arrive I may steal them and see if they fit on my boy. I think she ordered Kozy (the little racoon) a while back, I'll have to see if she'll let me play with those too (though I doubt it, seeing as they're blushed and my nails have a history of murdering blushing).
