Man we sure do talk about these dolls a lot since we are on number 4! ^^ I think i joined here when it was still on 2! But it is cool they made it a discussion for both BBB and RS ^^

Any way @ Lynn Nexus I know how you feel, i like to make sure she is wearing something different then the last meet for my dolls as well it is quite normal i think. I don't mind her wearing an old outfit though, i just don't like repeating straight after. I think i would cycle them. I have not repeated so far because i have not been to many meets.

But i did buy a new outfit from Ringdoll for Scops but sadly it won't get here in time, i ordered it like 3 weeks ago but i looked on the site and there is a delay for some reason. I do hope i get it soon though. Even though i will not get it in time for the meet. Because Scops doesn't have as many as Drisimi but they will share a little if the clothes will suit either doll and i didn't want Scops to wear the same thing.

I have decided in the end though and none of them will be repeating. So maybe you can put her in one of her older outfits that way she is not wearing the same as last time and you don't have to worry about not having something new.

And for everyone else random doll spam since this is a new thread and doesn't have much yet! I have seen some people have started!

Hooray! A new thread! I emailed a mod about a week and a half ago politely suggesting that they look into combining both the Bobobie thread and the Resinsoul one. She PM'd me that the mods would look into it, and I guess they decided the idea had merit because here we are! I had seen them combining other threads in the forum recently that really needed it...like the "where do you keep your doll" type of threads...and it got me thinking about all those poor Resinsoul newbies out there who go looking for a mini thread only to find the seldom used Resinsoul one. I pointed out to the mods that the Bobobie thread had pretty much always included just as much talk about Resinsoul as it did about Bobobie, and all that good information and links would certainly benefit Resinsoul newbies who might not know to look in the Bobobie thread. I'm so happy and appreciative that they made a new thread for ALL of us! A big thumbs up to the Mods!

bulletsBANQ, your Remiel is so adorable in those cute pants! He must be really thrilled with his "taylor" lately.

karla-chan, it's always such a treat to see your girls. They have so much character and you always dress them impeccably.

Ayas-Shadow, congratulations on being able to purchase your Devlin! I had to laugh at all your purchasing scenerios...sounds exactly like something I would do! I tend to plan doll purchases out so carefully. I'm sure your Shikyo and Carla will be happy to be complete, so it's really a great idea and we'll all be happy to see them once you're done.

PinkCow, I adore your ghost girl as you already know. She's so beautiful and unusual.

I second the request for pictures of Fei. I've only seen the few in this thread, myself:

I'm fairly sure there's only 2 or 3 Fei's here on the forum.

 

*laughs* I tend to have a 'short' (compared to the 'want') list of dolls I plan to get 'next'. In the end, which ones I actually go with depends on my finances and, more heavily, on circumstances. I WAS going to bet my first SD back in Feb...but found an An on the marketplace who needed a new home...and while only $10 cheaper than buying him new...I couldn't pass him up. Shortly after that I ordered a Bei with money I saved up...that would have gone towards the SD if I hadn't gotten the An...and after Bei, I got my twins, Isabella...as I had the money...and Junkyspot had them in stock. If they had had a NS Mai at the time, I'd have gotten him instead. But they didn't, so moved to the next on the list. I didn't want ANOTHER wait to order Mai...as I was ordering because I was impatient to get my Bei. I know it all sounds VERY random...but I promise it's not nearly as random as it sounds! *laughs* I really should made a word document with my full list of characters I want as dolls...what dolls I want them to be next to them...so I can check them off as I get them and show myself that I really AM making more headway than it seems like when I look at how 'random' the purchases get instead of going in strict order.

Edit to add: And BOTH my 15cm tinies are more impulse buys than anything else! I may have a little army of the things planned...but they're actually WAY farther down the list than the larger dolls...I wind up getting them because I find one I really want when I'm tired of saving for something bigger! And the Devlin...well, I've never seen another one, and he's had a few sales and trades fall through as I've stalked that sale thread...so I finally decided he was waiting for ME, not someone else.

Anyway...hopefully a new shoot of at least Yllora and Shikyo soon! Stupid overcast, raining, and snowing for the last WEEK! Give me proper light for pictures, please!

 

Ayas-Shadow~ LOL! Yea I'd have a document or a spread sheet if I had a whole slew of dolls to get ^_^

sorry that its blurry, for some reason its the ONLY good full body I managed to get of her whole outfit. apparently I wasn't really lucking out today in the photography area, guess im out of practice. sigh.

 

Missasher: I love Fritzi's outfit in that photo! It's too cute! Wish I'd had good enough conditions for photos today while I was home to take them!

I have a couple of questions. First, where do people find some of the cute hair accessories I see on here (like the hair clips/barettes) for smaller wigs; and second, where would I look to find size appropriate patterns for making clothes (sewing/knit/crochet)? I have a few that I think/know can be adapted by checking gauge, but if there is a secret that I am unaware of of sites etc., do share please!

ETA: I am truly a blonde (heeheehee) and I just answered my own question in part by following the forum listings down to "workshop" area. They have some wonderful threads there. I am still open to suggestions from people who might not post down there too though! (color me blushing)....

 

As far as crochet. And knitting is concerned, I am at a complete loss. With sewing, I just kinda make my own patterns based on the doll, my gramma-in-law has been helping me a little with that. On the subject of hair clips, I have found tiny hair accessories every where - wallmart, dollar stores, ect. I wouldn't be suprised if you could find some small hair things at a babis r us store maybe.

Nikopiko: LOVE your girl! She doesn't look like ANY other Mei I've ever seen! If you hadn't said she was one, I'd never have guessed! She's so pretty, and really unique, especially for the Mei sculpt!

 

I buy hair things for my dolls in the infants sections. o-o They have some adorkable little tiny clips and bows and stuff.

My boy's wig came today, I'll try and take pictures. But I need to re-glue his piercings cause some of them fell off when I was trying to put the wig on. XD

 

you know guys, I am so determined to break in to the SD world, but all of this Mei/Fei stuff is really starting to eat away at that and make me want my own o__o

 

Thank you everyone for your compliments on my Brin! She was sitting next to another Mei at the last doll meet I attended. You can click here to see a photo of them. I just put heavy lower lashes on her last week and it truly transformed her look!

And missasher, I highly recommend the mei sculpt. She may not have double joints, but I just love her aesthetics and never grow tired of her.

 

I have to say I'm finding myself attracted to the slimmer look.

Ooh, congrats to Rae62 on that lovely new girl! I'm so happy I finally got to see the champagne Fwig on a white Mei. That was my original plan for my girl, actually, but that changed~

The custom dress I commissioned for Rosalba is finished! It's going to hopefully be shipped Wednesday, but next Monday at the latest, so... I'm looking so forward to her having her actual clothes instead of the shift I whipped up in a few minutes. :P

And finally, against ALL my better judgment, I... put in an order with Resinsoul for a new doll. :X I got my car repair bill covered... I sold some OT dolls and stuff to help pay off my Soom debt... and so I decided, why not? >> I ordered Mai in dark tan/"chocolate". I'm pretty excited.

 

Yay! Another Mai! And in dark tan too, such a beautiful color, I don't see it very often.

 

Your wonderful pictures of your boy really helped me decide. So thank you so much for that! ^^ I was so torn between Mai and boy-Fei, but... Mai it shall be.

Edit: I have one of the SleepingElf dolls (they are cast by Bobobie) in dark tan and she's amazing, so I'm super excited for another dark tan doll. ^^

NikoPiko~ oooh man that picture of your mei and the other one is just CRAZY! They look sooo different! ^_^ it's so cool.

 

I made Mei a shift so she is no longer naked, and since I was doing it, decided to embellish some on my new embroidery machine... It is white quilter's cotton, embroidered with roses and rose buds, some old lace I had laying around, and tied at the shoulders with yellow ribbon. Very simple, but I am pleased!

Oh and I found some adorable clips in the girls' haircare section at Walmart, so now she can show off her ears if she wants to!

 

Rae62~ Oh GOD that dress type will be a PERFECT first project when I get the fairy twins! Not to mention... EMBROIDERY MACHINE!?!? Jelous! I have only gotten to play with those things(all the way back in high school I might add)... but I LOVE them! That would be an epic tool to have around.. being able to embellish like that.. an update on cassie's newest wig.. I plan on finishing it today... and it is BIG it's got a TERRIBLE big hair thing going on right now.. Aparently I am using too much of this bigger thicker yarn this time.... So I'm going to have to sparsly popylate the rest of the wig cap then I can be done ^_^ I'm flip floping on if I actrually like this wig, I find the colors now that they are in the wig to be both too much the same and too different. But when I discovered the big hair thing (flipping the hair out of her face so I coudl see my progress) I was quite enamored with it....

Then it'll be on to a Cthulhu... for my GF which is totally OT but Is why I'm trying so hard to get this wig done. Course I'm thinking about trying another small Cthulhu for her doll... not sure if it will be the same kind of yarn that Cassie's is made of or if it will be cotton 3ply... Decisions decisions.

 

The dress is pretty cute actually looks very summery ^^

Oh and i have some pretty cool news, i was at a doll meet this weekend (which went well) and one of the girls had the ring doll kimono i have been eying up for my girl for ages. So she let me try it on and it fits well. The alter neck top and the shorts under the kimono was very nicely fitting, so much you could actually see dolly nipples.

The kimono is bit because it is meant to hang, i will post pictures really soon!

It does mean thought when i am less poor i will most likely get it for her.

 

SO, remember a while back I was saving for a BBB body for my AE head and I wanted to see if any one thought it looked too big on my current BBB's body even tho it was a girl? well I ordered a BBB body from DDE -- and imagine my surprise when they sent me an RS one!

I have to admit its a really nice sculpt - especially the hands, I think I way prefer them to any BBB hands I know of. the only down side to this is that the color is so pink and so new that it doesnt match nearly as well as it did on my sprite. so this means some heavy blushing will be in order ....some day... when i get to it ... eventually ....

O.o If.. you ordered a bbb body.. and got a RS body.. shouldn't you contact dde? and make sure they know they sent you the wrong one? or are you happy with that bod?

 

Well, even if you are happy with the body you should still let DDE know they messed up. That's just feedback and it's important for them to know.
I got confused tho, cause my head's being annoying and I didn't read it was a boy's body and I thought: hey, the bobobie body should be taller xD

Oh and Karla! I'm curious about those photo's! And have you recieved your clothing from Ringdoll yet? (you ordered a clothing set right?)

 

Sadly i don't have Scop's new outfit. I got to try this on at a doll meet the outfit belonged to another girl, i just explained how much i wanted the ringdoll outfits, but had little idea how they fit.

im honestly happy, but if you think that i should tell them i think its an RS body I will email them and ask if thats what they meant to send me. but, they dont have any thing up on DDE that says they have RS bods for sale, so it must just be what they mean when they advertise it. either way, i will let thme know. though part of me is afraid of sounding like some kidna irritating know it all that is correcting a bussiness o__o; i dont want them to think im an annoying or annoyed customer.

ok, so , again, not reading all the way through >_< i just sort of assumed I would be getting aBBB boy body, but all it says on the sight is "43cm Boy Body" and I suppose since they have all their dolls under the BBB name I just sort of assumed... come to think of it, Ive never actually seen any American dealer supply any thing under the name of RS.. is there a reason for this?

And Miss, I noticed that too, and it has confused many DDE costumers. The thing is that there are very few stores that have a dealership with resinsoul. Featherfall in Canada does, but most other have a dealership with Bobobie, hence why they call them bobobie probably.

 

Miss~ They have the bbb body pictured... there is no reason you would have though you were getting the Rs one, It is sure that you should mention it to them because even though you're happy... not everyone will be, perhaps they didn't realize they hac pictured the bbb and not the RS, but it could be construed as false advertizing and that could hurt dde badly.

 

I dont have any mal intent here. I really just dont want to sound like some one who thinks they know it all. or come off like im complaining.

thats always been my problem though, im the kind of person who, if they get the wrong dish at a resteraunt, just says nothing and eats it any way, because Im scared some one will hate me for complaining. I guess if I phrase my email in the form of a question, maybe I will seem less like a complaining customer.

 

I would let them know that they sent you the wrong one, but be sure to tell them that you actually do like this one, and if you're going to keep it or not. I have an RS body of my own and aren't those boy's abs fabulous? *pets Liina* I'm still waiting for my Sprite who's coming on the same body, just because I love those abs! XD

 

i have to agree with that -- but i tihnk the thing im most in love with are the hands!

 

I like Liina's hands, he's an An sculpt, but I really am in love with the body. I don't even mind that it's single jointed, it's prettier to look at I think. But Liina's hands are sort of.... curled? They aren't flat. Which is interesting. He can hold things a lot better and more realistically with these hands, though I do want to get a pair of 'flat' hands.

But for these [exp!] dolls, I think you should have what you wanted/asked for! You cant just suck up hundred of dollars!

&&I LOVEEE RS doll bodies XD It's really gorgeous, I love his legs, lols, very curvy and thin unlike my DZ boy :/ I like his hips, his abs, everything! Except the single-jointedness, but I can live with it. My boy have the curled hands, but I dont really like it that much, it doesnt seem natural enough for me :B But it's better than the open hands[i have them] cause they look long and more unnatural than the curled hands, I want MNF hands for him, but he's tan :B Darn.

 

Thanks i think so too, but i am pretty confident that the Ringdoll clothes are going to fit now as well. But when i get Scop's outfit i will post pictures of that to show how well it will fit. But when i did look at the sizes of the dolls they are only like 1-2cm bigger which is not that much.
