Agh, I got behind again Everyone's dollies are so pretty!! I wish I had time to go through and comment on all of them, but alas, there is about six pages I have missed.

BUT Havra I just have to say how much I love Gail's makeover Looks like his jointed hands are working out well, too! Have you done anything to them to help them hold poses better? I have some on Archer and they're awesome but I wish I could wire them or something so he could actually hold stuff with them xD

 

Moontouched I was lucky and found Gail's hands for a great price on the MP, and they were already wired. It's just thin jewelry wire with hooks bent at each end to help keep it from sliding around inside the fingers. They pose beautifully and I think the scale with his face is much, much better than his old pair. The hands look pretty weird when you pull up his sleeves because of the 70cm body's extremely slender wrists, but Gail's mostly a long-sleeve, top-button kinda guy anyway...

Leaving for Germany on Saturday. Gail has some new clothes and props for pictures and I reeeally wanna take him to some castles or something. I will definitely share upon my return! So nervous. Glad to have the resin embodying a gentle-hearted, comforting, well-traveled character accompanying me on this... sixteen-hour flight in a tin can. -holds breath-

 

eeek 16hrs, I've only traveled 4hrs so far but castles so soooo cool some day I'll make my way to Europe, I know in a few years a friend of mine is moving to France so I'm planning a trip to see her. Haven't been out of the country yet, not even to Canada and I'm not that far away at all in Ohio. I'm sure you and Gail will have a fabulous time can't wait to see photos!

Gahhhhh, I just spend like all day with a friend who has like 6 or 7 SD & 70cm men?
They're SO cuddly and wonderful, and I think I need one...just can't decide on getting a male or a female

Also it was really weird standing her Apollo up behind my Song, and then her 70cm DollShe boy up behind Apollo...10-15cm really does make a huge difference
So if I do get one, he or she won't be sharing photo-space with my MSDs, cause it just makes them look like kids, and they're not...

 

Ohh Tipsyfox your boy is sooo gorgeous, I love his resin colour so much! I've been eyeing the RS/BBB fantasy colours for quite some time now but never liked the face sculpts much. Well, this has totally changed! I now regularly search for specific BBB sculpts (Gang!Weylin!Feng!Long!) and can't get enough of them. Funny, how tastes change. I really, really love the tiny slender dolls too, especially March.
Anyway, keep posting your gorgeous boys and girls, folks, they are very appreciated!

Alchemists's Fire You definitely need a 60-70cm doll. SO MUCH AMUSEMENT. I am biased toward the boys, but thats because I don't really like making dresses, and resin boobs are a pain since you can't squish them out of the way, lol. I also believe there should be even more Gangs and Weylins in the world Though I will say, the RS double jointed body is far superior to the BBB SD boy body.

Zomboid I've been a fan of Gang from the beginning! And Apollo, I still might have to get one of those one day. Thankyou for your lovely compliments on Silas. I am madly in love with him XD The dark grey is the first "non normal" skintone I've ever gotten, but its very evenly colored and is just all around gorgeous.

laneym thankyou! I figured if I was going to go with a "non natural" skintone, I might as well have non-natural colored eyes and hair too! OMG THE COLORS!

So I happened across a violin case at goodwill the other day for $6. So now I'm in the process of converting it into a carrying case for Syd. Buying some doll fabric for the inside as we "speak" lol.

Aaaah I just saw an old photo of a very feminine Weylin and now I must have a mischievous Weylin girl! But.... I've never ordered directly from a company before, and I read at some point that Bobobie was having shipping issues... How is Bobobie with requests like switching bodies and such? Sorry if this is too newbie-ish... I'm kind of at a loss involving buying from somewhere not a dealer or a secondhand seller. ^^;

So he's gotten his face modded. I brought his cheeks in and gave him a better brow line. He was supposed to feel feline without being over the top feline, like facepaint feline, yanno? I tried. He has his wig now too. I still have to do the braid on the back but he just wanted a moment to be once I put his head back on him. He is getting pierced... but again... I just wanted to give him space. It's funny because he definitely has this way to him. He feels very much the way Sebastian, my cat, does. Sebastian is very loving and very patient, but is very mentally verbal when he wants anything or does not want anything. He doesn't meow very much but chirps and burbles and makes the kitty buzzle noise. Cas can talk but just really chooses not to. If he does, you earned your stripes, LOL. Usually he only talks to his traveling companion. Believe it or not, Cas is the warrior while his companion is more gentle and withdrawn. He is also mute and so Cas acts as his voice.

Tipsy Fox; Your grey Gang is a very impressive guy! I have always liked the Gang sculpt, but what you've done with yours is truly awe inspiring!

 

I agree, the gang really is one of the most versatile sculpts I have. He was my first and Dallieh is still my baby. there is something so pleasing about him. Mine seems to be a lot more volitile that Silas is. I haven't posted him in a long while and this is an older picture, but I hope that you enjoy it anyway.



Dallieh guards her while she sleeps in his lap. There isn't even a heartbeat within his chest to disturb her. He lets her sleep until nearly dawn and then carries her home, before spreading his wings to find his own heartbreak beneath the Parisian streets. Little does he know that soon he will be free once more and she will be safe, guarded by an old freind despite herself. He doesn't realize that there is an Angel out there waiting for him.

Many sculpts can end look the same but i have never seen that of the Gang sculpt, they are all so different and very versatile!

Laneym personality is definitely something Silas is not lacking in, lol. I'm pretty sure he's an eccentric child of a family from old money, but only time will tell. I'm pretty much a stranger on DoA these days, but I thought I'd just poke my head in here to say hello. I'm currently in the process of planning my next doll, which is going to be RS Long in the lilac/purple resin. I'm seriously considering getting him on the 60cm body instead of the 70cm. I've been wanting a lilac RS doll ever since Alchemist's Fire and I got some resin samples from RS last year and I saw the lilac in person, but I told myself there was no way I could get a doll if I didn't have a character for it. Anyway...I finally came up with a character, so... His name is Aenon and he's going to be a water sprite.
I'm doing something with this one that I've never done before. I made a blog to document the process of obtaining a new doll (link in my signature) and, I must say that once I stopped to think about it, I realized how much is actually involved in getting a new doll. Anyway, I may pop in here again from time to time and check out everyone's awesome photos and say hello. And I'll be sure to post a link to the box opening for my Long, when that happens.

I'm a little bit nervous about actually hitting the checkout button though, cause I'm really scared that I won't like her when she gets here.
One of the things I'm a bit concerned about is when I see the head without a wig, I feel like the ears are set too low...the tips are in line with the tops of the eyes, and while that works for human anatomy, it looks weird for an elf

I love Lian as well, but she's really BIG. And so I'm also kinda concerned about having somewhere to -put- her...plus no idea how to clothe her and yeahhh...


Edit: Does anyone happen to know what size eyes RS Yun takes?
And what size eyes RS Lian takes?

Wow, those are some really beautiful Yuns. She's not a sculpt I had ever really looked twice at, but that's always how it is, right? It's the owner pics that really sell a doll.

Okami, Vespera looks absolutely luscious in red. I may be biased--favorite colour ever.

 

That Yun is a very pretty sculpt... well.. I think everyones dolls are awesome!! Rune is a very attractive woman and I love the wig! (I tend to really like red wigs). Sapphire I can't wait to see your boy when he gets in.

I am still waiting on my lilac Dai (ordered her through DDE so it always takes a bit longer to arrive) with high heel feet. Today I bought her wig and eyes. I got a black wig from Juju's dolly mall on ebay called "Monique Gold "Ginger" Size 7/8 Off Black" and green eyes from DDE that are Brilliant glass eyes "Greenwich" in 16mm.... Hope they fit right.

 

I love, love love Monique Gold wings! Super amazing quality. 7/8 seems a bit small though? I could be wrong (and Monique wigs are super stretchy) but I would've gone for 8/9

 

I hope it fits... I asked someone who had a Dai and that is what they told me... Now I am worried. Oh well we shall see I guess.... errrr..

Yeah, I'd be worried too, 7/8 is normally MSD size. Although, RS MSDs seem to generally wear 6/7 which I think is typical of YoSD, so maybe the SDs are a size down as well. But, as I don't have one, I've no idea xD

 

Angel had a 7-8 from leekeworld and it was snug but fit. His current one is an 8-9 and it's a little loose.

 

My Dai wears a Monique 7/8 wig. It was a bit of a struggle to get it on, but once on her head, it was a perfect snug fit. All 8/9's I tried, no matter the manufacturer, were quite loose. Hope this helps!

I'm working on a new shirt for my Mei, Thistle. The last one I made only fit if I took her head off first, so I'm hoping this one will fit a little easier ^^;

It took me all night, but I finished the design:


On another note, I've re-strung Thistle about 6 times and her legs still kick terribly no matter what I do. She stands fine, but as soon as I pick her up they snap into a sitting pose. I've tried sueding them, and it hasn't helped. Anyone have any advice?

My Edith, she's in black and white to hide the old flakey face up, she no longer has the surprised eyebrows haha!

 

Hey everyone.. I just received my Mu.. how in the heck do i get wigs to stay over those ears? All of his wigs pop off lol. Does he wear an 8/9?

 

I'm not sure about his wig size but sewing a "notch" (sewing the wig in a little) where the wigs lay behind his ears seem to help if your open to modding the wig. I also line the wig and/or headcap with hot glue or glue velco on the wig. The tackyness of the hot glue really helps a wig stay on but make sure to use low temp and test on the inside of the headcap before hot glueing the whole head (I've hotglued almost every doll I've owned with not ill effect but you never know!). I tend to just leave my Ai bald since its sooooo difficult to find a wig that fits properly.

I just got my Monique gold wig which is 7-8 in and a pair of glass eyes that I got from DDE that are 16mm... Of course I couldn't wait to try them on a doll so I used my Ai. The wig fits great! It's not tight at all the eyes look a little big for my tastes but they fit.

 

I know how hard that is sometimes, I don't have any SDs but I do have two Resinsoul MSDs and I have almost accidentally posted them in here a few times.
I'd love to see Thistle over in the MSD thread, and someone just posted asking to see Mei

 

I have a RS Dai, she's still new to me and forever barefoot. What's the best way of telling if shoes would fit if bought online. I'll post some photos of her later, I just finished her wig and faceup- she's needs some good photos!

Here is my Ai in my other wig option for my Dai to wear... Still from Monique Gold and is a 7-8 but this one is a bit tight and does seem like it wants to pop off. I can't wait for my Dai to get here!!! I ordered her through DDE which seems forever ago.

@LadyValiant Best thing to look for is if the site lists an inside length. I'd say err on the side of too big since you can always put a sock under it...unless it's like a open kinda shoe (idk, whatever you girls call em lol)

@Reslie About the clothes if it's from a place that makes dolls (dollmore, Iplehouse, etc) I'd say just look at the dimensions of their dolls and try to find the closest match. Also you again probably want to err on the large side unless of course you want it to be tight/it's made of stretchy fabric. For instance my RS Ling has a dress that I'm fairly certain is for a standard SD so on her it's a little shorter...which is just the way she wants it lol. Most companies that sell clothes have them modeled on some kind of doll whether they make the doll or not so you could always email them and ask them what the doll's measurements are or at least what doll they are so you can look them up yourself.
