Bobobie and Resinsoul Discussion - Part 12!!

I emailed Resinsoul about making a custom muscular girl body using the 1/3 boy or girl bodies and they said they could alter the boy body to have female details or the 1/3 girl to have muscles with a lot of modifications and tbh i'm not sure which one would make the most sense xD from what I can tell in the pictures, they have pretty similar engineering. The head I'd be using has a smaller neck size than the boy body, so I guess I can ask if they can accommodate that when they're doing everything else. I'm pretty excited though!

I will! I'm excited and a little nervous about the order. I hope the bodies will work for the heads i have. I'm also getting a Cen in a custom color because while they did say they could alter the bigger boy body to have more similar joints and smooth abs, they said they aren't able to change the height, so I thought it'd probably be a little easier for me to mod a Cen body to be taller and give the illusion of wider shoulders through the clothing than it would be to try to make the taller body shorter. But I may be fooling myself there.

 

Oh, that gives me ideas! I use the bigger boy body as a fem body, because the pecs are sculpted a little low, and pass as small boobs in some clothing, so it’s interesting that I could probably get them to actually put boobs on it!

 

From how they replied in the email, I think they could probably do it for the bigger boy body too, and for a very reasonable fee! They're even making heel feet for me for her too, and making the neck smaller to fit the head I have!

 

Greetings, Resinsoul/Bobobie enjoyers! Could I please ask you all a few questions, if/when anyone has a moment?

Specifically:
-What is Resinsoul's white resin tone like lately? (Paper white/yellow white/pink white/etc.) I found some examples as recent as 2023 on Flickr, but would really appreciate more info.
-It seems like Resinsoul/Bobobie are very generous and flexible when it comes to custom orders and unusual requests. If I wanted to buy something wild like, say, just a pair of the hoof legs from the Mu body - in your experience, is that something that they might be open to? How does one go about requesting something like that?
-Denver Doll Emporium lists something called the "Cen" body...but I couldn't find it on the companies' websites. Does anybody have a doll on this body? I'd love to see photos/hear how you like it, if you're willing to share!

I can't speak to their white resin, but I believe they WILL sell you just legs or even arms off a doll if you email and ask, they'll give you a quote.

And the Cen body is the body Cen comes on by default (he's in their 62cm category), so you can see pictures of it there. They haven't really updated the site to have all the different bodies listed separately in a long time, I think since so many people just order through email vs actually using the site itself.

A complaint I remember hearing from someone here who has a full Cen doll is that the neck seems a bit too big even for the Cen head (like, it sits on the neck weird, as if it's neck hole is a smidge too small). Other than that, I think it was the usual RS stuff of benefitting from suedeing and wiring, maybe using thicker elastic, etc.

 

Oh, I see! I'd normally feel a little shy to e-mail really specific requests, but it seems like they handle them pretty well (which is awesome).
As far as issues go, that's definitely a strange one. I'm hoping to try out modifications anyway, so...could be good practice.

Of course just as I'm gearing up to buy a custom Yan Resinsoul comes along and releases Rainbow . She's so pretty, though she reminds me more of a harpy/bird woman than an angel personally. Now I'm struggling to decide which one to get... Is there anyone here with a Yan, and does she have any cool features or unique quirks besides the usual Resinsoul stuff? Thanks.

 

1.I need to double check when I get home, but I think the white resin is very white.

2. They will sell you random parts if you email. I just received a pair of hooves I ordered from them. Send an email with the exact thing you want+resin colour and you'll get an direct quote in reply. You then just pay on paypal if that's fine with you (I usually write down the order+my main email in the paypal comment since I use a different email for it). it's really easy

3. I have three dolls on the Cen body (a Cen, a Qian, and a non resinsoul head) and I'm pretty happy with it! The neck is a little large for its intended heads, but nothing bothersome to me. I think it poses well, but I'm not someone who does crazy poses with their dolls. I have restrung one of them with thicker elastics, the other two I just tightened the existing elastic and they're fine. My camera is dead at the moment, but I may have photos of the body naked on IG, I need to check

 

I have a tiny white doll from RS, and she was definitely very, very white when she was new. She did yellow quite a bit, though.

 

@Tagath @Fairy Milliner thank you both! The companies' flexibility with ordering separate parts is so cool, and offers a lot of inspiration...! If the white resin is a nice shade, I really might get into some serious Resinsoul experimenting come tax return season.

Its my first attempt at making a wig, so if I improve then he'll probably get an upgraded one in a few year's time. But I went by "it doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done" and am pretty happy with the end result.

Oh, wow, I didn't recognize him with a wig and new eyes - I had to go back to your prior post to compare. He looks delightful!

 

The white resin is not quite paper white, but close. It's much whiter than say, Fairyland's. I have a Feng in white resin I bought in stock from DDE a couple of months ago. It's actually not a bad shade. I was thinking his character would be one of the Fae but now I'm thinking he may end up as a character from a concept album by a band I love.

 

Is the Cen body really only 50cm without a head!? That's much shorter than I expected. I've been planning to get two for some hybrids.

 

I quickly measured again to double check, and this time came closer to 52cm Still, yes, it's a fairly small body, since the RS heads tend to be on the larger side.

 

Peaking my head in here for people who are well acquainted with Resinsoul!

I have a Resinsoul Ling and Chun (both girls) but I am falling out of love with Ling due to her face shape isn't as full as Chun.

Does anyone know of another sculpt that has a similar size face to Chun? I would like to have another Resinsoul girl to be with Chun. I do have a picture of them side by side if needed.

Hi everyone! Does ResinSoul charge a fee for colour matching to a part I send them?
If context is helpful, I have a WS non-ResinSoul head (MiracleDoll) that I want to hybrid with the Cen body, but it's a creamy yellow tone and I don't think ResinSoul's standard white is going to match.

I love your dolls also. I didn't release you had a Yang! I've been considering a Yang or Heng for one of my characters and I've been looking for a sculpt with sharply defined cheeks and jawline. What do you think of the sculpt (and the body if he's on the RS bigger body).

 

They do charge a fee for a custom color. It was about $30 for my Cen body.

I like my Yang a lot, partly because his longer face contrasts nicely with that of my Cen which is rounder. I will say eye placement has been tricky, my partner has said multiple times he looked stoned before I found something that worked
He's on the 70cm body (his default one) , which looks nice enough I'd say. Maybe the abs and ribs are more defined than I'd prefer, but I'm too lazy to sand them.I like that he looks tall and very lanky next to the 60cm RS.
For posability, I'm not one to expect crazy things so I never know what to say lol. I have no big problems with it. The hip/thigh joint fights me a bit when I want him to go from sitting to standing, but that's it.
I gave him RS's jointed hands for 72cm dolls and they look a little big, but nothing shocking

Right??? Impldoll is $100 now for a custom colour, so $30 is nothing.

 

I should note that if you want to color match something, definitely send them a physical thing to match as opposed to a pantone number, even if it's color picked from a swatch or photo. Unfortunately, while a nice color, the body is too dark for the head I have, which I knew was a possibility going that route, but still leaves me in a bit of a conundrum about what i want to do for him >< But since I wouldn't have time to customize him before the NYC con anyway (one of the reasons I went the pantone route instead of asking to mail them something to match) i have time to decide.

 

Ok maybe this is just me and my weak little bird wrists, but does anyone else struggle to get the feet off of their 1/3 bodies? I got heel feet for my girl, but can't get her normal feet she came with off the elastic to switch them out, and when I went to restring her, I had to just pull the s-hook out from the neck to release the tension, because i couldn't get the feet off to unstring her properly >< I can't tell if it's just that the loop on the hook is a smidgen too small or something else, because I haven't had this problem with any of my other dolls from other companies (usually I have the opposite problem where i need help getting things back on!)

 

@quilleth I can't remember which doll it was, but I have had problems like that before. I'll modify the S-hook a little if I have to opening it up a bit to get it on the doll if it's too closed for the new elastic or hard for me to get it back on the foot. I do pull the elastic out quite a bit and clamp it down with forceps so that I don't have any tension when I am working on it. The forceps help a lot when it comes to changing out hands and feet.

 

Thanks! It's good to know it's not just me >< I did have forceps keeping the elastic in place, but i still couldn't get them off, so I guess I'll have to try opening the s-hook some and see if that helps!

 

Just thought I'd pop in and share that there's a new 61cm boy, Andrew! I love his face, reminds me of the Sui/Tang sculpt they have for their 45cm body. Though, they listed Andrew three times? I think it's a mistake though, since the first link is the only one with the dropdown boxes for things like faceup and resin color. But, the others have different pictures, so I'll link those too.

I just posted in the waiting room about it, but in case y’all didn’t see, I just learned that RS is willing to do the split-colour they did on Tears on SD sized dolls, and they’re willing to put the MSD wings on SD sized dolls as well. They also still do the drip-colouration that @Thymeseer got, and they only charged me $15 for it! Resinsoul continues to be amazing!

 

Hey question! I saw they have a new SD boy up, but how are the tariffs of getting a big boy into the US? I really like Andrew’s sculpt.

 

They seem to be using a couple of different shipping methods, so it depends on that. There's a couple of comments on Resinsoul specifically in the thread about tariffs, starting on page 20-21

 

I'm currently planning on ordering one of the 72 cm guys, so I asked Sun for a particular head comparison photo. Heng compared to one of the new guys. And he sent me this, which was very helpful. Thought I'd share it here, since it shows the small differences of the heads pretty well.

 

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to ask - but if I want to order a Heng head on it's own, do I just email them with the request , since they don't have a listing for it, and they handle the rest?

 

Yes, emailing them is perfectly fine. I did all my Resinsoul orders via email. ^^

 

Resinsoul is having a discount on some of their dolls! They're not saying until when, but I assume it should run until at least 11/11 since the "global shopping festival" is the reason for the discount.

Uh oh, I'd been hoping Resinsoul would make a few more big dudes with refined cheekbones but not now while I'm on a doll hiatus! I love their new sculpting style, it's so elegant.

 

Just got my Resinsoul Andrew, NS with freckles faceup, from DDE today. He's a handsome boy! I had a very different wig in mind for him but it just didn't work, though I do think he looks good in this grey-purple Leeke! He's right at the 8" mark, I'd say, if not a little smaller.

And a closeup of his face, bald and nakey right out of the box. Please pardon the eye putty squished into his sclera/tear duct area, it was so cold it wouldn't budge when I went to fix it. (never had THAT problem before in Miami )

Hello, all! I come bearing questions~ Does anyone have or have seen any hybrids yet of these new 72cm boy bodies? I've seen a few owner photos of the full dolls themselves, but I'm a hybrider by nature, lol, and have a mighty need! My concern is that their necks seem to be really short. But I also can't fully deduce if that's fully the neck or the heads themselves. Or both, lol! I'm suspecting I may have to ask RS for a custom longer neck, but I'd love to be sure before going through all that. These are for future plans, so I've got plenty of time to continue researching and planning. But any help would be absolutely lovely!~ Thanks!!!

Now, the Cen body on the other hand, I loooove that body! I recently just added a second because I plan on several, lol! It's soooo goood, especially for smaller 1/3 head hybrids. I currently have a Zaoll Luv on my original Cen body, and the new one will have several rotating, mainly: Nakanadoll Yvonne, FL Rona, and CP Luts Juri-07 A (Dreaming Elf Moon). Male FL Lookback sculpts also look great, but the female sculpts tend to be on the too small side, but most others work. I also need to nab a body for my mother to put her Bimong Dandelion/Mindulrae head on. Seriously, this body is fabulous!!!!! (Also, more the reason I'm hoping it's larger version is just as compatible!)

Honestly, if anyone has any questions on what they wonder might fit the Cen body, hit me up. I've got a vast selection of heads and don't mind either sharing a headswap photo or answering a question or two~

 

Hello! Would anyone be able to verify if the neck on the 58cm girl body is 8cm or 9cm? I've found conflicting information online.

 

I have the shorter Resinsoul body, what head are you thinking of using? (I am using a small head so I believe it's an 8cm neck)

 

I'm looking to hybrid a Peaks Woods Tristan head, which have neck holes on the smaller side.

 

I have an LR Kamu head on the smaller body and though the head says 9.5 cm it fits the RS body fine (The 58 cm body has a 9cm neck). However since you have an 8cm head, you could ask them to mod the neck smaller for the 58 cm girl?
