BlueFairy (Tiny Fairy) discussion Part 12

Uh oh, as of Sunday December 10, Blue Fairy’s website is offline. There’s a message saying:

“This Site is automatically closed, it exceeded the service period.

The backoffice/Frontshop mode may not accessible,because service period is over.
Shop Master can reopen the site by paying the service fee.
If the site is already closed, you have to pay penalty 5%.
If you have any question, contact us at 1:1 care service board.”​

 

Their Korean and Japanese sites can still be accessed but this is rather worrying . I remember they had an issue with a invalid certificate on their international site this year but I didn't think it would be more than that.

But maybe that means we need to contact them via email in case of questions. Because I'm not sure if there's someone actively managing their IG-account atm.

 

Looks like they have some new Monthly Special dolls up: Celine and Ashley, plus a new outfit set!

The TF Chelsy that I ordered back in March finally arrived yesterday, with no warning. I was so relieved! Luckily, I was home to sign for her! I find it a bit sad that Bluefairy doesn't offer eyes anymore.

 

No eyes? Huh! I can’t say I mind... I always replace them with nice glass eyes right away, and feel bad about throwing away the acrylics... but I also can’t imagine opening the doll and having empty eye cavities staring up at me lol

It does make me worry about Blue Fairy’s future, though; the website “slipping”, the fact that they skipped December’s order period, their almost non existent Instagram presence....

 

I had ordered both the blue and pink versions of the Pastel Fairies outfits, which were to include: Dress, Panier, Socks, Drawers, Bonnet. All I got was a nicely packaged dress and drawers, with no socks, panier (petticoat), or bonnet. Both colors were like this. For the price of $188 per outfit, that was really disappointing. I did write to Bluefairy about it to see if they will send the rest of the outfits or give me a partial refund. Caveat emptor!

This drop in quality stings. I'm a long-time Bluefairy collector, with several Tiny Fairies, Shiny Fairy Juniors, and some Pocket Fairy Sugars.

 

Oof! Yeah, the prices of the outfits has gone up and up and UP... I’m an adult with a job, and the prices of this hobby are making me feel like a high schooler saving up birthday and babysitting money again— it’s no longer an indulgence I can swing a few times a year; it’s an expense I reserve only for my birthday now.

That’s really unfortunate that they forgot components, especially because I know the shipping for just an outfit is ALSO outrageous. Good luck!

 

my lisa arrived a few days ago too! i was so surprised that he didn't have eyes, i thought they forgot something but i guess not....
crazy that you're forced to order a faceup with eyelashes and pay for those now and they won't even include some low quality eyes! i don't think i've ever even gotten a floating head from the cheapest company i know of without a random pair!

 

Withdoll doesn't include eyes either. It's rare but they definitely aren't the only ones cutting costs this way. Personally I don't mind as I very rarely use default eyes.

I ordered a TF Celine during the last Monthly Special order and I was wondering if anyone else bought it. I really like the serene expression on her face. Celine would be my second TF - the first one was a Somang bought secondhand - and I can't wait to receive it even if, reading the previous comments, it seems that Blue Fairy waiting times have increased a little recently.

 

I didn't know about the eyes situation, I've always ordered no-faceup. I'd be disappointed if I received my doll with face-up but no eyes.

Congratulations!! Somang is super cute and I'm curious to see your Celine, newer sculpts are hard to see.

Blue Fairy announced their 21st Anniversary Tiny Fairy Free Pass Event!

It starts January 25 and is limited to the first 20 orders. I’m a bit unclear on which TF heads are on offer... the link they provides goes to their regular TF lineup, so I don’t know if you can actually pick rarer heads, like Closed Mouth May or discontinued heads like Denis.

I saw a TF Annabel on Instagram that got a faceup from a faceup artist.... now I need an Annabel she looked so good! However, I have to skip this event... if they were just selling heads, I would go for it, but head+body+shipping is just too much money right now.

Well, I decided to spring for a Free Pass Tiny Fairy, as a birthday gift to myself. For the head I chose Alexia (Alex), with face-up. I expect she'll arrive sometime this summer. Really excited!

 

Ooh that was the girl I was extremely tempted by too. Unfortunately the timing isn't good so I'll have to pass but... Ah... I really did want Alexia.

 

oh happy birthday and congrats! alex is an adorable sculpt, mine is actually my icon (not that you can tell from how crunchy it is from being shrunk and compressed haha), very sweet face, very fun to photograph. i need to grab him from my dad's house sometime soon ;w;

 

This month I worked on a pinafore dress for my MW Blossom Tommy and it turned out so cute I wanted to share it here.
So here's Dana Violet in her lovely new overdress! The warm lighting in here at night is really deceptive, it gives her a very rosy tone to her white resin!

One of these days I have to get my crew in pictures together! I have a Niky and a Jerome as well, but they're all part of different dolly "families" so I don't think I've ever actually gotten to getting them all together before.

but what are we thinking? Niky? That was my guess based on the shape of the mouth anyway. Not many TFs have smiles.

Also do you think that's a factory faceup? The pinkish reddish is very familiar. But I can't quite place it.

It'll be interesting when he arrives to see what state he's in. Poor old boy will get a lot of tlc here.

 

That's an Angel Region Little Fair Ami.
The Little Fair line shared the same body as the original Bluefairy body.
Take off her head cap and it should be inscribed Little Fair and underneath Ami, the inscribing looks hand done.
That does look like and original factory faceup.

honestly i don't know if he's still the main sculptor for bluefairy, i'm curious. especially with the clip they've been putting out new sculpts as of late.

sidenote-- the TF free pass is still up, i'm wondering if anyone is going to order anything.... my birthday is coming up but i already have so many TF at this point and while i do want more i've gotten most of the grails and limiteds i wanted.... unless they bring back baked LOL. also i'm not sure if i like their new makeup partnership as much as when they were with estebebe, sigh....

News from Bluefairy . They are selling Bluefairy, Tiny Fairy, Shiny Fairy, and Pocket Fairy LAST SALE from their previous manufacturing plant. It looks like when they move to the new plant, prices will go up and some items will be discontinued. These sales run from May 15, 2024 to May 31st, 2024 (Korean time). All heads except for the 15th anniversary May "Fairy" head are available. I've been waiting for over two years to order Heemang, so I'm jumping at the chance to get her! Does anyone here have a Heemang that they can show pictures of?

 

Yikes. They sure believe in giving not much of an advance notice....

So most of the current bodies of Tinyfairies are to be discontinued? It also sounds like they're going to revamp the website, saying "product information" will be removed after the plant transfer. Time to copy and historical info you need, sounds like. Going to copy my order history too, just in case of revamp bugginess on the site.

Definitelyl they're changing their long-standing style of faceups. The last doll I ordered, a boy, had such a heavily blushed face (cheeks AND chin) it looked like a different company's doll. And yet it had the traditional TF faceup on the site. I was so bummed....

 

Oh dear, this is confusing and such short notice.
I always wanted Olive but never had the kick in the butt to do so.

She's not even on the list anyway.

Olive is an option. If you scroll down to where they link Tony Fairy Page 1, she is listed there. I don't know why they didn't include her with the pictures they had on the post. I ordered Heemang and she wasn't in that list of pictures either. I think the only head that isn't available is the 15th anniversary Fairy May one.

Wow, it is so fun that dolls can look so different based on the way they are styled even when they have the same sculpt and faceup! I have a Celine as well and she preferred all the icy colours.

I love the clothes you picked out for them! And the dark hairstyles work for them so well.

 

Wow I just saw your profile of your Celine on the front page and she is gorgeous! You guys are making me want to repaint mine already!
I'm happy to see that she was a somewhat popular sculpt. I thought she kinda went under the radar at first.

 

I honestly felt like I was the only one who ordered a Celine the first time she was released because I couldn’t find any on IG. Time to share more of her here!

Did you order yours blank and got a custom faceup for her?

 

I also felt like no one apart from me ordered a Celine during the last pre-order Happy to meet other collectors who appreciate that sculpt!

Yeah I got her blank. I think I just need to try a different style with her. I put her in a frilly dress with a bonnet and she doesn't seem happy about it lol. Yours looks well suited to how you've styled her!

 

Is anyone able to enter BlueFairy's international site? For some reason it's not loading, but I was able to enter the Japanese site. I wonder if something's wrong...

I placed an order through their International website just few days before it went down. They contacted me about my order and it seems they are working on a new version of the site.

Except that if you didn't collect your purchase history from the old site, it's gone now forever. Doesn't appear to be a photo gallery any longer either.

Doesn't look like it's fully 100% done yet. They have the same wig listed twice and only that wig, the "prices" on most things is instead a series of numbers and letters (is that their release schedule?) and it's all a little bit confusing about what you can and cannot order.

So hmmm.

Nice to see all the tiny fairies together though.

 

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the Olive and May sculpt aside from the mouth (May's is a bit open)? They look so similar to me, and I see May available secondhand a lot more often than Olive (who I prefer, not liking open mouths that much).

Olive has a rounder face and slightly larger eyes. Both May and Olive have been quite popular over the years, so odds are good you could find an Olive on the secondhand market. Sometimes the older dolls need some TLC, but fortunately Bluefairy TF dolls (especially the single-jointed classic bodies) are simple in structure and are not difficult to clean up and restring. Good luck with your search!

I have a question:
Has anyone ever ordered a TF head without a body?
Do the heads by themselves not usually come with certificates? Mine didn't have one and it seems strange.
Or is it because I ordered via DolkBJD?

Yes, I bought a TF Lin head 1/26/2020 and she came in a clear plastic box wrapped in a clear cellophane bag and nothing else.

 

Even the Full Dolls don’t really come with much of a CoA anymore. My last two just came with a cardboard tag with the sculpt name printed on it.

 

I have around 30 TF's and 17 PF's half new/half second hand and I don't think I have a COA for any of them although most of them came in a sculpt labeled box.

 

Bluefairy doesn't use COAs, as far as I know. I've been collecting them for years.
