More limited?!?!?! Wow, I wanted limited TFs for so long, but now they're coming so close that I can't keep up I really love sleeping Tommy! Haha, I wish I could swap around whatever recent limited outfit I liked best with the recent limited doll I liked best

@bronzephoenix I wonder why they're not selling the outfits separately?? I know their Framboise outfits sold out really quickly, and I snapped up a Classy Yuri dress (minus the doll), so it's not like their limited outfits sit around getting dust?? The Twinkle Twinkle dresses were really cute!! :')

Hello everyone! I recently acquired a Sarang, my first new doll in over ten years.
After a new face (still a work-in-progess; I really suck at faceups), new tension, new eyes, new wig, new clothes (lol), she's finally ready to debut! At the moment, she's cosplaying as an idol/ pop star, per the request of my 6-year-old daughter.

I missed so much! I somehow thought everyone was so quiet on all the news lately I didn't even bother checking the thread bc I never got my notifs! I was really upset about Niky and Jerome too!!! Two of my fav sculpts and now I'm sad I can't just get a regular Niky. I'll have to keep a stash ready for if he gets released as a limited!! Huff.

I just paid off a second-hand Sarang so I'll be in the Sarang club soon!! I really want a boy body for her, but I want to keep her body for her sibling who is supposed to be a Niky!! I have no idea what to do other than hope a Niky head pops up on the marketplace or second-hand elsewhere. Ack.

Thank you for all the doll spam, it just reminds me how much I love these dolls and how much I want almost every one of them!!

 

OMG that Rachel Valentine sure is a classy high class looking doll, why i do feel threatened by her majestic presence, why my wallet won't call me back !

I wonder if they created Valentine molds to become as their counterpart of usual personality, opened eye Rachel seems very calm and elegant and bit cheerful, this Rachel V is stunning and feels like a bit arrogant but still cool hahah

i think niky pops up secondhand every once in a while, so i'd keep an eye out for one there, too..! and with the amount of limiteds bluefairy is putting out recently, i wouldn't be surprised if we saw some of the discontinued sculpts again sooner than we're expecting..! or maybe i'm just hoping, lol
actually, you can check minoru world's facebook page, they have in stock limiteds for sale some times. idk how current the list is, but they have a beauty white "TF Niky / Neo dandy / Noble (theme special) / $490" listed right now. idk if they'll split fullsets but it could be something to look into? :>

she sure is a cool beauty! why are bluefairy's fullsets so exspensive, i love her dress aaaa!!!

Ahh I do expect lots of photos when everyone’s dolls arrive! I mever see many Bluegairy box opening threads and those kind of things are my fave ;-;!!!

Anyway...i’m getting real impatient waiting for my new Niky to come through ! I only have hopefully a month left to wait but...ahh the anticipation!

I wamted to ask of you guys had any stories about your bluegairy dolls? @mangameow I know you have a really amazing and in depth doll story ! (I’d love to hear more ahh!) I wondered if any of the rest of you had something similar or other plans for the characters of your dolls?

On another note, have any TF owners here wired their dolls? I got some coated 14gauge to give it a shot, but I wanted to know if you've tried it or have any precautions or words of advice for me. Thanks in advance!

 

My gal is wired with coated wire, but just in her legs. It’s been so long ago since I wired her. I can’t recall if I had any issues or a certain process. She’s wired with just one piece bent through her hips and down the length of each leg, helps it stand much better. I’ve never had much trouble posing her arms, I just use the silicone kips disks in her shoulder joints and the rest of the arm is fine. I have a classic girl from 2009.

 

They're at it again! I thought Blue Fairy might finally take a break from limiteds to bring us those baked skin dolls but nope.

I know this is the Tiny Fairy thread, but it's interesting to see Blue Fairy Miley... I wonder if the Blue Fairy line is on its way back?

 

Is Miley an older sculpt? I don't remember seeing it. And man, I'm looking out on that baked skin order. I'm not really interested in any of those sculpts in particular BUT if it means having a BF baked then.... I kinda want them!! I've never ordered from BF itself, what's the process like and anyone dealt with the layaway before?

it looks like there’s a limited choice event coming under the preorder section too.... i hope they’ll have a limited baked preorder so i can finally get one of my tiny fairy grails, baked allen!

Miley is a limited sculpt from the Blue Fairy line, which is their SD sized line. I posted it here, because I don't think people are hanging out in that specific thread?

Ordering from Blue Fairy is a little odd... you make your order and check out, and then when your confirmation email, you send money to them thru PayPal. As far as I know, they don't do layaway? I'm not ordering this period, but maybe if anyone else is, they could set up a split, and work out layaway details with you personally.

 

@kittycow yeah bluefairy doesn’t do layaway but i’ve had good experiences using their dealer pupa*casa when i was in a pinch. it’s more expensive but if you really gotta have that limited! (or live in uh.... thailand i thhhhhink?) their rep thanida is always really nice and helpful! ^^
you could also maybe check with luts..??

 

My best guess with the baked choice is that BF will make a three month rotation from June-August, and each month, you will have your choice of that month's dolls, as explained here. Ie, June will be Patrick, Robin, and Jasmine, July will be May, Emilie, Sarang, Kyle, and August will be Olive, Louis, Denis. That's how they did it... was it last year or the previous year?

I kind of doubt that we will get any sculpts outside of the normal rotation in baked skin... Maybe if we all emailed BF and indicated interest in an event like this one, but with baked skin?

i think that that choice event will be offered at the same time as the next baked skin, i will ask bluefairy on their Q&A board in a moment if they can combine the two events, and that there is interest in it!

 

I would definitely love a limited sculpt baked skin event, but there isn't any indication that there will be one. Did I miss something?

but i did ask and let them know that a few people are interested in a baked limited event!

 

update, bluefairy said that the march order (or at least mine) would start shipment starting on the 25th in the order that they were ordered!! so we're all pretty close to our niky club finally being home!! >:3c

they also said they're unsure about the dates on the baked event, but they seem hopeful about it. ^^
they are taking the suggestion about baked limiteds into consideration though, so i'll be excited to see if anything comes from it!

speaking of baked, can we get some baked image spam in here? :'D

Thank you!! I was considering going for a white skin Patrick too until I saw this one pop up on the marketplace. I firmly believe that you can never have too many Patricks.

 

hehe, i might have to get a ws patrick then.... especially if i get a tan sarang in the next tan event. then i'd have those two characters double shelled..??! i would never be able to sell the first sarang becase he was my first doll and i'm so attached, and he can't not have his patrick, because that's his bff, he'd be lonely without him! and i'm also extremely attached to my patrick. xD
they both actually got new eyes recently, and i really like the ones i got for my sarang (fiat) but the ones that came for my patrick (lee) are... a little "too" blue? you can never quite tell with makos whats going to come!

 

That's such a shame! Makos are so beautiful but they really look nothing like the sales photos. You'll probably be able to sell the blue ones fairly easily on the marketplace since they're taking so long to make at the moment. I ordered 2 pairs for my Olive and Charlotte back in March and they still haven't shipped...

 

i would sell them but i'm an eye hoarder and i don't want to put his old ones back in since these were more expensive xD
but yeah makos are very hit or miss. i don't understand why they sometimes look EXACTLY like the sales photo, but sometimes nothing like them..? it's such a gamble.... but they are always very nice quality, especially for the price, so i can't complain too much, haha

i ordered 10 pair when they announced their price increase and i still haven't heard anything about my order... i had asked a question about my order like a week ago, and they're answered every question they gotten before and since then except mine and i'm just like x____X;
i hope the order ships or gets here soon, since i ordered a lot of them for my incoming bluefairy order..!

 

Ahhh the Niky Club!! I can’t wait for all the dolls to arrive! I’m finishing up this big lot of work right now and my Niky will likely arrive just as it ends...a nice reward ~ uAu~

(personally i like all of the bodies, i have the classic, neo1.0, and neo2.0 and they're all great haha~)

i haven’t bought dolls off YJA before, but i did buy my japanese 3ds there (nice to not have to pay the markups that US based resellers put on the items) and i had no problem with it.

haha yep! i was trawling for volks bodies (ive got a shecow mara that needs an sd10!) when i decided to take the plunge and make a buyee account. i hope you find some good deals. ;3c

idk what it is with the low rating thing, i think there might be sellers that like cancel the sale at the last minute if they don’t get a high enough bid for their tase and relist it or something and people who won’t ship to the buyee proxy address because they don’t want foreigners buying their stuff or something, i think that’s part of it but im not really entirely sure, that’s just my guess from what i’ve read.

 

I've been searching but how on earth do i contact them to ask about the skin color? Tried clicking everything I can think of to get a shop contact e-mail or something else but I've come up empty handed. My intuition is telling me these are normal skin, if anyone can give an extra opinion on them I would be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.

I have an eye on mandarake as well, and they have a normal niky too. I think Minoru stopped carrying BF? Haven't seen any on their site and their facebook says they don't do BF anymore. Oh well. Guess I'll try to be patient and not blow my money on something that isn't a sure thing of what I want. Thanks for all the help though.

 

I bought a Shiny May from y!JP through Buyee. The fees were rather expensive but I had no problems with the service! She made it back safe and sound pretty quickly. I didn't need to ask any questions though so not sure how you'd go about doing that...

Pretty sure that's NS though. Doesn't look anywhere near as pale as my two Beauty White girls and he's got the old style Bluefairy box - not sure if WS was common back then?

 

ughhh i checked their fb and yeah it says in the comments as of 5 weeks ago on MW that those dolls aren’t in stock anymore what a bummer. ;;
that list had been there pretty much unchanged for years so i really should have known....
it might be worth asking BF directly if they have any in stock though? even if it’s just the head, the body would be easy to order separately. when they discontinued the classic gentle body without notice i was very lucky that i asked and they had one in stock although it was aged differently than the head i got for it but the match isn’t bad or anything at all~~
but yeah my best guess is that they’re normal skin too :/

yeah it’s a very old box, ive been collecting tiny fairies since ‘14 and ive never gotten that style of box...! it’s cute though, i wouldn’t mind having one! :3

I have the old box for an Olive (back when her default wig was the short wavy one) and a SF May 1st - I think they were made around 2010! Pretty sure white skin was only for special events back then but the white box may have still been around for a few years after that.

Dollyteria is great - I haven't bought anything from them but they do international shipping and I've seen a fair few Bluefairies come and go on their site. You can search for 'bluefairy' but you also get a lot of different bluefairy results by searching 'bf' too. It's a second hand doll store in Ikebukuro and apparently they have much more stock in their physical store. I'll definitely be checking it out the next time I'm in Japan.

 

So I've been Blue Fairy's customer since like 2004, and here's 4 out of the 5 different box styles I've received from them. I put the approximate dates of acquisition on them, but I don't keep very good records (sorry).



The 5th style box is the narrow cardboard one with the split top and the lil rope handles. It only holds one doll comfortably, so I don't like it very much lol. And white skin didn't start being a standard option until just a few years ago, so any dolls you see on the secondhand markets-- especially with older boxes and older bodies-- are definitely going to be Normal Skin.

If you can't read the stickers on the boxes, the top one says "BF bluefairy.co.kr", the next is "Blue Fairy Tiny Fairy_Sarang", the third is "Blue Fairy Tiny Fairy*" (and on the side of the box, there is a sticker that says "Tiny Fairy Jasmine"), and the last box says "Blue Fairy I'll always be here for you".

And this concludes my archeological dig lol

 

Baked skin confirmed as an option for the monthly pre-order! It works like a typical month with that month's sculpts, but you can pick baked skin.

 

that's so long ago, i don't even remember that omg.... i think i actually got into bjds in..... late??? 2013? but i'd had an account here since i was in high school when a friend on deviantART gave me an invite.... it's sad, i don't even remember who they were at this point ;;
back then the only company i knew was iplehouse i think! and then i saw someone with a peak's woods doll on my dash.... and then a DC alberta fullset and i fell headfirst into the hobby. xD
i'm so glad i ended up here, and found out about bluefairy, since they're perfect! ;w;

i only have the brown one, and both of them are pretty much beat to hell, i think i actually threw away one of them since it was so ripped since i did use it as a carrier (which it was kind of terrible for!). i'm glad they come in the carrier cases now, but i wish they still included pillows omg....

Oh no a monthly baked skin option? Oh no tbh that's very exciting! I'm glad it's not going to be a once a year event!

 

That is exciting! I’ve moved onto a different style of dolls but I will always have a special place for my jasmine and I’ve always wanted a baked skin so you never know maybe I’ll get somebody...

 

The event only lasts for one rotation of the sculpts, I'm afraid it is not a permanent addition to the monthly pre-order. So it will take... I forget, 3 or 4 months to rotate through BF's typical monthly lineup, and then baked skin will be gone until they next bring it back. Please check BF's "how to order" page to see when the sculpts you might like will be available in tan

 

Ah, very interesting. That's cool though, that they're giving us an entire rotation to get the baked skin. Truthfully, I wanted a junior Fairy Clare in baked skin, but she's been discontinued so I missed out on her. However, any other sculpt will be just as cute!

Next item on the agenda: when will BF update their wig colors?? Please... just offer all the colors across all the wigs... bring back a really dark brown or black as a color option....

 

I've been waiting for this too - there are so few styles that still have the espresso colour option!

 

Oh my gosh, thanks EVERYONE that helped me on figuring out more about the Niky I was looking at. You are all amazing, and I am eternally grateful! I think I'm going to pass on the one in the Y!J market right now because it's not what I want and will end up spending more money if I DO get it. Sigh.

@mangameow I took your advice and asked BF directly if they had any extra Nikys laying around, lol. They said something to the effect that Niky would only be available as a limited. So, maybe there's hope as far as discontinued sculpts at least getting a limited release?! We shall see...

And now all these tan options coming out! I want one, but which one? I guess I have eyes for a Patrick or Olive. @twisted_ivy your Patrick is so very cute, but I probably won't be able to afford it immediately. If anyone else has a cute tan, please share! If I don't manage to grab one, I must live through the rest of you.

 

@kittycow Blue Fairy had a TF Limited Choice Event last year, that I think was pretty popular. They might do it again sometime soon, and maybe add Jerome, Niky, and Tommy (the sculpts they discontinued this year). Xiao is an option, though they discontinued that sculpt, so they've still got the molds for those dolls around somewhere! Weirdly, however... we've never seen Gus again. (What's that about???)

As for baked skin, I know @midolls*melissa has a Pocket Fairy army, and some of them are baked! I don't know if anyone has baked Tiny Fairies??? We'd love to see them if you do!!

 

that's too bad, but it's always good to try! and yeah i think they'll be rereleasing them as limiteds, but who knows when those will actually come out. i don't think we've seen xiao since it was discontinued other than in limited choice sets. :<
but it seems like niky is a fairly popular sculpt? perhaps it will get a renewal and be rereleased as a basic. i think they've done that with xiao and may a few times. (although xiao is limited at the moment)

i love xiao, one of my friends has her and she's so precious! i wanted to shell one of my characters as that sculpt, but the tiny fairy bodies are a little too tall for him, so i've ordered him as a jr. fairy clare, since they were discontinuing clare too ;___; he's going to fit in with all my other tiny fairy boys, but he's the shortest character at 5'4" and the next shortest is 5'7" who is my jerome boy that i ordered!
i mention gus in almost every one of my questions to bluefairy, and they're always very vague about him, so i wonder if something happened to his mould ;__; i really want a gus, and his just kind of vanishing has made the want much worse xD;

 

@mangameow I have a very unhelpful suggestion for short msd-size dolls... Day Dream has "boy" and "girl" bodies that are just a bit shorter than the regular msd bodies, but still have those heads. This is unhelpful bc Day Dream is still ironing out the wrinkles of their casting process, and if you don't have Xiao head... so maybe wait a see? It might not be as impossible as you expect!

i knew about daydream, but i never considered their "boy" body..! i was planning on getting the prince body for my tommy though, since he's extra extra tall (6'4"!!!!! 0____0;;;; )
i've already ordered the clare though since it was being dicontinued! i've seen and handled a junior fairy in person, and i'm pretty confident it'll work, but if it's actually too small, i'll definitely be looking at the boy body..! i wonder if the clare head would be too small though..... x3;
and yeah i hope daydream comes back soon ;;

also, i'm kinda bummed because i'm going to canada in two weeks for ten days, and then visiting a friend for a few days as soon as i get back, so i had to ask bluefairy to hold off on shipping my order for an extra week or two they were happy to help me of course, but i just want my dolls xD;
and my mako eyes order came in and i found out i totally neglected to buy the pair i was gonna give my niky!!

 

Blue Fairy's Gentle body is a little taller than their Dandy/Boy bodies, so you might not have to hybrid? But I'm sorry to say... a Junior Fairy's head is not going to work on a Day Dream body. The Day Dream bodies are MSD-sized, and Junior Fairies have heads that are even a little small compared to Shiny Fairies. It would be like putting a Junior Fairy head onto a Tiny Fairy body. It wouldn't fit on the neck, and it would look like the shrunken head guy in Beetlejuice D:

But don't be discouraged! This is a slow-moving hobby, so just take your time, try different wigs and eyes on your crew, let your characters percolate... your doll plans may change based on your own tastes and ideas, or they may change based on doll company news. (And Day Dream looks like they're gearing up to opening again this year-- they posted a notice about it! )

@midolls*melissa thank you so much for sharing!!!! And that extra comparison, wow. there is not one tan skin in the bunch i do NOT like. They are all beautiful and varied!! I actually really like that it's different even if I know that will cause issues with resin matching in the future for option parts and mixing heads and bodies. Ugh, they're all so cute!!
