BlueFairy Shiny Fairy/(MW) Junior body discussion part 1

No, you’re right— there’s two Hanas. When Blue Fairy introduced the Shiny Fairy size, they introduced Shiny May, Shiny Hana (Sarang), and a new face Shiny Benjamin.

They then rebooted Hana and May (i don’t know why!), and the reboot of May was so poorly received that they pulled May 2 and rereleased May Shiny. So the current Hana is Hana 2, but the current Shiny May is May 3.

After years of pining over all things Bluefairy (and being forever indecisive to boot!) I found one for a good price (she's actually gonna be my cheapest doll now, and that's WITH shipping and conversion! ) on Mandarake and wound up taking the plunge today! I can't wait for her to be shipped out and arrive home!

The listing said she was a Hana, but I'm wondering if she's actually a May 2. Either way, she's so freaking cute in the listing photos and I already have her style all planned out! I'm just so very excited for her to ship out and get here!

 

Do Dollmore Narsha outfits fit JR bodies? They're almost the same height.
I've been trying to find clothing options other than sewing everything myself. I know shortsleeved Yosd should fit but long sleeved though..
Has anyone here found any viable options?

 

Sorry, but Narsha clothes are much too wide for Junior Fairies. Your best purchase option is regular YoSD clothes, and then just dealing with the skirts/sleeves/legs being short. If you can sew, you’ll just have to sew your own clothes for them.

Yeah I'll go the sewing route. I've looked through so many yosd clothes in the past while my head's spinning
Thankfully Bluefairy quoted manufacturing time as only 50 days or so, so hopefully it won't be too long a wait and I can start sewing soon.

 

My Mandarake dolly came in! She's so freaking precious, I just love her! I have no wig for her yet, but two are coming in the mail so hopefully by next week she won't be bald anymore (although she is rocking it, ngl!).

I'm totally gonna have to restring her (no tension in those arms!) which will probably happen while I'm off from work next month. I'll probably give her a good soak/clean then too.

(The listing said she was a Hana, but she's totally a May 2nd, right? I'm not just imagining it? She's got the little philtrum and isn't near smiley enough to be either Hana release. I could absolutely be wrong and will bow down the the superior knowledge of people in this thread. She also has a little 1 on her headcap, if that helps any)

 

Congratulations! She's definitely a May, but I'm not sure about the version, maybe someone else can confirm.

Bluefairy has opened a Shiny Fairy All Choice Pre-order (including the limited heads), through May 10th (that's Korean time, so plan accordingly!)

 

Hate to double-post but Bluefairy put up an announcement that they will be changing manufacturing plants, prices will be going up due to this, and some items discontinued. There is a "Last Sale" going on from May 15th, 2024 to May 31st, 2024 (Korean Time) including Blue Fairy, Tiny Fairy, Shiny Fairy, and Pocket Fairy items if anyone is interested.

He's so cute I'm glad I was able to find a place for him in my life after all these years. Just took a good idea and a little effort. He takes the cake of the most wtf wrist joints though. I hope they've improved on that on more recent bodies.

 

They have not. It is my biggest, (to be fair, maybe only) major disappointment about Bluefairy's bodies to this day.

Even the renewed Neo Juniors suffer from the same old wrist design. The wrist ball shielding the steel hook and eyelet really limits the mobility of the whole setup compared to how it'd perform if the hand and wrist ball were unified and the fulcrum point of the hand were to sit lower. Just so sad - despite being one of my favorite brands, they have the most severely limited wrist mobility among my collection.

It must be an artistic choice at this point.

Anyway! Your cutie would be snapped right up if I were your mailperson! Look at those adorable huge laid-back earrrs~ He could accompany me as I drive my route in the LLV of my dreams~

Surprise, surprise! I ordered a Sam and a Shirley (both Junior blossom girls, Beauty-white skin) back in that All Choice Pre-Order in early May. They showed up at my door with no warning this afternoon! Very fine quality, as usual. The face-ups are the classic Blue Fairy type we all know and love. I've got some eyes on hand to try out on them. Bluefairy sent them in the same size carry-bag that they use for the Tiny Fairy size? (It's been a long while since I ordered this size. They were still using boxes before.) Hope to take some pictures once the light is better--it's very foggy today! Very excited, though, and glad to see they haven't abandoned the Shiny Fairy line!

 

Hi! In my desperate quest for a Shinyfairy Hana on Mandarake, I stumbled upon a blank SF Andy on a girl body at a great price... how could I leave her there?? As soon as I saw her, I had her name and character in mind. It was a super-impulse buy I usually do not yield to, but I cannot wait to give her a good clean and restringing, and send her out to get painted! I've not given up on Hana, even XD...

EDIT: is 14mm the correct eye size?

Thank you! I have a few 14mm eyes and this could be the right time to start doing my own XD! I'm so impatient to see her in person! I chose Air Mail not to lose the great price advantage (it was 60 euros!), which means it will take a while to get here and get through customs... last time an Air Mail Mandarake package was stuck in customs a couple of months

 

Just so you know... I had messaged Bluefairy to know when Hana would be released. They told me I could order from the All-Type Choice page, but the Add to Cart button was missing. I messaged them, they fixed the button, so I started filling out the order form, paid a 40% deposit with paypal, but there was no confirmation button. As I was messaging them, the website showed me $120 in shipping costs! So I wrote again, telling therm about the button, and they let me order via their board. Since there is no other option to ship to my country, they offered to send her to me in a smaller box, either strung or unstrung, and pay shipping once they know the actual weight. I chose to receive her unstrung, and will ask friends for help. I hope nothing goes wrong and that they do not forget about my order! Let's see when they get back to me.

 

Good perseverance and congratulations on your order!! Hana is such a sweet face. My own Hana serves as the perfect shell for my personal favorite character. Energetic, big-eyed, and cheery!

I've ordered an unassembled ShinyFairy from Bluefairy before too. They delivered the kit in a small parcel with the body parts divided among a few plastic baggies with cardboard labels, as they would package clothing or shoes. The head had its own box for safe transport. Everything was in perfect condition, except one S-hook that must have escaped the packing before it made it to my home.

Assembly is not too complicated, especially if you have a helper, don't worry - you've got this! Excited for you!!

 

They were so nice. I really hope they do not forget about my order as I did it via their board! The other doll I restrung is a used tinyfairy that ended up having a little damage from it, so I will not go through that unaided this time! She had always been one of my favourite sculpts ever, I hope she gets here fast and without incident!

 

They're shipping my ShinyFairy Hana soon! And I cannot wait to place an order for the current PocketFairy event, waiting to see if they accept a 5-months layaway for it!

 

My ShinyFairy Hana came in this morning. I was astonished on how fast they were, and of course that's because they. Forgot. The faceup.

EDIT: they got in touch and will send me a replacement painted head, that's excellent customer service!

 

Awh too bad about the faceup being missed, but that's great of them to commit to making it right for you! What a relief. Hope you will begin bonding with and get a lot of enjoyment from your sweet new arrival for now, even without the faceup.

Then it'll be a fun transformation when the replacement comes home! More to look forward to!

 

I was so very happy about it, I'm so grateful! I will patiently wait for the head to come here, and this means next year I will buy another Shinyfairy body to use the spare head for a different doll project. Beauty White is such a lovely colour and their 27cm size fits exactly what I have in mind! I hope they have an option to buy standalone bodies.

 

I'm sorry to infest this thread so much but... has anyone recently tried to buy a SF body without head from Bluefairy? I have a plan for the spare head I have once they send me my painted Hana head, but I want an original Shinyfairy body for that - their 1/6 bodies are so lovely and beauty white is such a lovely colour, I don't feel like making a hybrid XD

EDIT: I did manage to buy the body - the button on the English site was broken, and I also managed to get myself an older Hana head on Mercari Japan via Buyee. Depending on the level of yellowing, I hope I can match it to Myou resin!
