Blue Fairies of Bluefairy - Bluefairy SD sized dolls Discussion

May 24, 2011

    1. I agree - I like single joints - larger heads - good sized eyes - this way they are not small dolls on large bodies which is a turn off for me. The bust looks ok, though I like smaller - it's not too large. I agree Olive!

    2. edit: I guess I misunderstood them.

Midsummer's Night Lin is misty rose though, so there is still a possibility.

Though, my new girl's resin tone is very close to Fairyland's NS, so if you like that colour. :>

    3. Kurenai is a lot lighter than Natsume in person, so I think the normal skin is calming down a lot in terms of how dark and pink it is.

So, crossing my fingers, Your Diana will be coming home to me this summer.

    4. My friend has all her money saved up for a Karen from...I forget. But she has changed her plans. She gets her paycheck this weekend and is going to order Your Diana. I am SO jealous. As soon as they come in, please post as many pics as you can!

    5. I wish there were more detailed pictures of the joints, as I am very picky about that. Though, I like the overall look of the body very much, and it does look like the joints will be very similar to the current TF bodies, which I like very much.

    6. Don't quite get your question. My English isn't very good.
Not sure if this is the answer to your question, my WS Jasmine is 2010 resin.

    7. turbow, I just mean how does BF white resin change over time - does it turn more creamy, more yellow, etc.? I know that white resins from different companies age differently, so was just curious about BF :)

    8. Oh, I don't have answer to this then. My WS Jasmine and WS SF May are still new. Their resin colors haven't changed at all. Sorry ^^"
But the WS tip-toe feet I ordered later are a wee bit lighter but no pinker or anything. Barely noticeable.
Guess it's just the difference of resin batch.

    9. turbow - that's very good that they didn't change! I know that all resin changes color with age, but some companies' resin doesn't age very gracefully from what I've seen.

I really like Diana and your picture definitely makes me much more receptive to BF's white resin! I'm just glad I have a few days to decide before the ordering period is over :D

    10. oh, jeez, I think my wish has been granted. I think I'll have to save up a lot before I get one, though.

    11. Anna> Their WS becomes more creamy ^^ I've had a WS doll for 2 years and when I compared it to a friends one, it's not that noticeable unless I looked closely. To me I can see a slight pinkish cast? compared to my doll which has a slight yellow cast.

Here's a photo from a few months ago if it helps, my doll with mk13's.

WS Louis (2009), Sweet Day V. May (2007), Walking with May boy (2006).

Hopefully I've got the years right XD

And here's one with WS 2009 and WS 2010 :3

    12. Wow....this thread moves fast too....
I am jealous on those who can get Diana home ><!!!! (LOL)
I really have to avoid BF's site before the sale period ends.........I am feeling bad for myself didnt hesitate longer on the doll that I have got it paid on the day BF released a photo of Diana. OTZ

    13. Anna: As limedragon said, the WS resin ages to be more creamy ivory, and also darker :). I think it still photographs very nicely.

I hope to see lots of owner photos of Diana!! X3

    14. So I am officially getting a Your Diana set, though she'll be coming home at the end of the summer once she's paid off. So excited for this! I've always wanted a white skin May, and Diana is going to be my giant white skin May.

Now, to decide on a name.

    15. Congratulations Kim :dance

    16. Congrats, Kim!

I am still thinking about what to do myself :D

    17. I'm sorry if I looked this over, but will the "LE Dianas" be sold throughout the sale period or sold only until quantities run out? Usually LE Bluefairy dolls are sold until their quantities run out, but this release doesn't have a set quantity. Is that correct?

    18. Daniel Falls: My experience, albeit not vast, of a BF limited release that has been assigned a window of opportunity is that BF takes orders for the time period they have specified. Their notice says:

      * Order Schedule
Starting 5:00 PM on May 27th, 2011 and ends 30th 5:00 PM. (based on Korean time)

      * Payment Deadline
Payment should be made in 3 days from the order date.
Order will be cancelled automatically if we do not recieve the payment in 3 days.

      * Shipping Schedule
Shipping will be started after 30 business days by the order of payment confirmation.

I'd expect they'll stop taking order at 5pm Korea time on 30th May, so this does not appear to be a numbers game.

    19. Do you think that Diana will be sold as a standard Blue Fairy later on? I really like her but I don't have the money for her right now. Based on BF's history i would imagine this to be the case, but i just want to hear this from someone else!

    20. I don't see why they wouldn't release standards in this size. They won't be white skin, of course, but they've added all of their other body and size options to the standard line. It may take a few months, and I wonder if they'll release any other heads when they do.

    21. Kim, congratulations! Diana is pretty! :D

About the Mistyrose resin, there's been three dolls of that resin for sale in BF international site, Sleeping beauty May, Midsummer Night's Dreaming Xiao and Lin. If they'd make more in Misty, that'd be lovely! I would love to own Blue Fairy in that resin. I'm agreeing about the white resin, it is very pretty, some of my girls has this pinkish white tone which ages to a creamy pinkish tone. ^^ Very nice. <3

    22. I can hardly believe it - I just ordered 'Your Diana'!!! My very first bjds were May and MiniMay in the 'Sweet Day May' set, and it just seems fitting that my first SD-sized doll be a Blue Fairy as well. I haven't ever even seen a SD-sized bjd in person, so I really really really hope she fits in with the rest of my crew all right.

Some of the reasons I had to get her: BF's Beauty White resin is gorgeous (I have a thing where I can't bond with a doll if the resin is off); I love the May sculpt; her body proportions seem nice (although her measurements are a bit thicker than Volks, which might prove unfortunate when looking for clothes); and her price (while still steep) is in my price range.

I had JUST decided two days ago that Volks Rinon was the perfect SD-sized doll for me and that I should order her by the end of June, when I fell head over heels in love with Diana... ug. I'll probably get Rinon eventually though (no rush since she's a standard), and hopefully they'll go well together :)

    23. Congrats, Wickedgood! I was wondering if I was going to be the only one getting a set.

I have several different sizes of Volks girls, so I figure I'll have clothes that fit her from someone. I can't wait to do a side by side comparison of them all.

    24. Congrats Kim && Wickedgood!!! I can't wait for pics :D

    25. Jealous X)
I think my friend is actually going to buy the dress, because she is lacking only $50 dollars. Doesn't that just suck? But yeah! Pictures!

    26. Thanks guys :) Pics will definitely be forthcoming on my end - I am quite interested in seeing how she poses and how easy/hard it is to handle a 'big girl'. Oooo, Kim - I would be very interested to see comparisons with her and your Volks dolls (BlueFairy and Volks are my two loves), it would be most helpful for planning the future of my doll-family :D

    27. Congratulations to those who ordered one of these lovelies. Unfortunately, I missed the ordering period because my cat gave me quite a scare and had to be taken to the ER. She's still not feeling well, though is getting better little by little. I completely forgot that Diana's ordering period was so short with all the stress and worrying the past few days. I am very much looking forward to seeing the pictures, though, and cannot wait until the standard versions are released so I can place my order.

    28. Any updates on these dolls? I would love to see real life pictures and some next to other dolls such as volks.

    29. Same! I want to see Diana too!

    30. My Diana hasn't shipped yet, so I inquired on the Q&A section. I've not gotten a response yet, but I'm not worried. I'll share pics when she arrives :)

    31. I've been keeping on eye on the Japanese blogs and I've yet to find anyone with a Diana yet. Looks like the big girls are taking their time to show up.

Which is course is terrible as I am one of those people who hates waiting and I want mine now lol

    32. I know several of you were wanting to see pics - so I took a lot when opening my Diana :)

      Some thoughts:
She's quite lovely. Love the size (so different from MSD and smaller). I was at first a bit disappointed that she isn't exactly May. Her mold is very BF-ish though, there's no mistaking her for any other company's doll. Her mouth has more of an overbite than May, and she reminds me a bit of Olive, albeit with teeth. Or perhaps a bit of Minoru World's Junior Minoru (again, except with teeth). Her resin is more pinkish than my May's (my May might have yellowed a bit with age, but I don't think her resin was ever this pink) but it still is pretty pretty beauty white and fits in nicely with my other dolls, including Volks pureskin.

Her wig is totally by Luts (it even has a tag from them). It's this one here: http://www.eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=3047

Her clothing is amazingly detailed and the bonnet fits much better than the one my May came with. The shoes are nice quality (and beige - yay! - I was wondering wtf I was going to do with a pair of bright white shoes, and beige is much more flexible of a color to coordinate with).

Her hands are soooo graceful, and I love that her nails aren't super long.

I think my biggest thing is getting used to her facemold. Changing out her eyes and trying out different wigs (she looks great in a dark brown Volks I plopped on her head) will probably help out. But I'm glad I got her, and I'm sure I'll 'bond' with her in good time :)

    33. I took a few quick shots of Diana last night. She has really grown on me - I think shifting her eyes a bit and finding a wig that suits her has helped immensely. I've only found one other owner on the web with pics of her... I hope to find more - she's a super sweet doll! Also, I cannot believe I waited so long to get a SD-sized bjd... love this size! :D

The rest of the pics are here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/10046874@N04/5995240494/in/photostream I'll have to take some more in better lighting and a different outfit soon.

    34. She's beautiful! I am looking forward to BF releasing these girls as standards - I love the SD size and BF sculpts, so I will definitely be getting one. What size eyes do you use in her? 18mm?

    35. I said it in the Tinyfairy thread, but ahhhh, I want these girls so much! *_* Alice and Diana are so beautiful!

    36. Mmm. I like this new girl Alice. I prefer her over Diana.
Is it just me, or these girls have rounder faces than their smaller counterpart? XD

    37. Alice reminds me of Louis lol *-*

Yeh, I thought their heads look pretty roly poly.

I hope they will release some boys in this size soon.

    38. Love it! These 60cm releases have long been awaited!

    39. Diana has BIG eyessss @0@if she can has a slimmer and longer face to hold this pair of eyes..... I do like Alice more. Yesyes, she reminds me of Louis!

      I want a Bluefairy badly but these two girls refuse to grow on me ;w;

    40. Have the pre-order pages always had the prices? A nude Bluefairy doll with no makeup or wig is priced at $430, and a fullset costs $610. I love the concept of a 60cm Bluefairy doll, but sadly I'm not enticed by either Alice or Diana.

I hope that Bluefairy would release a special outfit and look for these preorders to entice more buyers. Also, the faces just dont capture me as much as most of their mini facemolds. In my eyes, Diana looks a lot like Volks Show, which is a doll that I've passed over many times.

    41. Their preorders for the standard choice sets when they release a new line or doll within a line always are just the Bluefairy uniform. From what I remember, the first preorders are a little cheaper than the eventual full release prices.

They did have the white skin limited Diana sets released earlier this year.

I think Alice is really cute and may think about getting her once she's released as a standard in the future. We'll have to see what else the right of the line brings.

    42. I'm thinking about ordering Winter Alice, I'm just not sure yet. I know I love Bluefairy dolls and that I would like a SD size doll, and this Alice seems very cute, but I'm not as smitten by her mold as I am by Olive mold for example. Plus there are not yet owners pictures of Alice, which doesn't help... I must decide quickly I suppose :).

    43. marionbearmaker, I agree, Winter Alice is lovely! Otherwise I'm not yet convinced about this size. :D Maybe 'couse I got many of Tinyfairy size dolls it takes time to get used to bigger Blue Fairies.

    44. Dropping by to share a photo of BF Alice.
      She's so pretty!!

    45. Wow, I do agree that Alice is very pretty. I actually prefer her more than Diana. I wonder why Blue Fairies aren't getting popular like their mini and tiny counterparts? I hope they release a boy mould soon. :aheartbea

    46. Waking up this thread a little. ^^ Bluefairy has two new Blue Fairies, girl Ever Lunar and boy Ever Daniel. What do you think? They are sold as Theme special so the fantastic outfits are included! Girl looks a little like Olive and boy seems to be a bigger verion of Louis. ^^ What do you think?

    47. I wonder how the glamorous body differs from the original Blue Fairy body. It appears that the legs might have more shape, and there might be more of a waist as well... if so, probably a big improvement. I wish they'd put up comparison pics or at least nude pics of the new bodies so that their customers could make better informed purchasing decisions. The boy looks quite sharp as well - I think BF is taking their large doll line in the right direction.

    48. They added a nude photo of Daniel but not for Lunar. And although I prefer my dolls to be 60cm or less, I caved and ordered Daniel.

    49. Wow, that's a manly body under that cute babyface! Nice that it's got two torso joints. A possibility for hybridizing if they ever start selling the bodies separately. I'm not that rabid about double-jointed arms, but a pair of torso joints? Lunar marsh, you have got to do some posing pics!

    50. I was all ohhh nice shoulder and wondered if it would work for my floating head then looked down and realized the poor boy appears to not have a penis. And then I was sad.

But his face is still really cute.

    51. :? OMG!!! I didn't notice! Went and took a look, and even enlarged the View --

The Tinyfairies are very modestly endowed (and turtleneck style). This fellow does have a slight bulge and some shadow area above and on the far side on the supersize view. He might have something equally modest and under-defined, but there definitely is something there.

Lol, the pressure mounts on lunar marsh for clarification....

    52. I agree with you, hobbywhelmed, especially since it seems that even with the Pocket Fairys, they don't have any gender neutral bodies. Looks like he has a penis to me. And I'll be happy to provide photos once he arrives of the area in question, plus posing shots!

    53. I love Daniel! I've want a 'big' Bluefairy boy for years and his face is just what I had hoped for. Does Bluefairy take paypal?

    54. Sillypeach, yes, they have that option now. Check-out won't take you directly to PayPal. Instead, you get an order confirmation and BlueFairy will send you an email with payment instructions. Since I ordered on Friday, I'm assuming I'll get the email tomorrow - BlueFairy is closed on the weekends, isn't it?

Editing to add that I never received an email from BF and had to post in Q&A for payment info. If you use the PayPal option, their PayPal address is [email protected].

    55. What a slow thread! But I guess there's not too many of these guys here. I'm looking forward to finally seeing Daniel in person but it looks like it will be a month or two before that happens. I want to get him something a little more dramatic to wear than the clothes he'll be coming with. And I'm so relieved I'm not tempted by the Bittersweet Olives - and am amazed that there's only a $93 difference in the pricing between these TF limiteds and the BF Ever Yours limiteds. I wish they'd offer the Bitter Olive outfit in a BF size!

    56. Blue Fairy told me that Daniel might start shipping next week!

    57. I know it is probably unlikely, but I figured I'd ask anyway.. Has anyone happened to have come across any pictures of Ever Lunar other than the ones on their site? I'm guessing she hasn't been shipped to anyone yet. I'm so close to ordering her but part of me wants to try and wait for some more photos first :|

    58. Ohh I forgot all about this thread!! I should post a photo of my Daniel and Alice to wake up this thread :D

Their names are Lionel and Mary <3

I find the male SD body's shoulders way too large, but otherwise his body is very nicely sculpted and poses well! The hands are the finest SD hands I've ever seen... but there are a few problems with the body: the way his knee joints are sculpted make it harder to bend his legs... I always have to pull the leg to bend them x__x And he falls back too easily from the hip joints! My fingers always slip into the between of the joints when it happens (it hurts like hell!) and I'm scared it will break my fingers someday :sweat... Is there a way to prevent this? Hot glueing his torso joint would only make it easier for him to bend back, I think...

    59. shibya, they're both gorgeous! I can't wait to for my Daniel to arrive now. How about wiring him? I've tried it on one of my SD dolls with great results.
