Black Cherry Doll

Wow, all these hybrids are amazing to see! And hi everyone, I thought I'd stop lurking for a change to show you my Kaorin. She's on a Souldoll Zenith body, which is an incredible match! The color is super similar, and I love the proportions.
I can make some full body pictures for anyone else who is thinking about a 65+ cm hybrid!

 

I went with Fresh for the body since that's what Black Cherry Dolls said was a good match for their NS. The copper color was sold out when I was looking to buy my head.

@CorpseOfBeauty - your Kaorin is gorgeous! I especially like the little sakura branch makeup on around her eyes.

 

Thank you so much! I'm super happy with how it turned out. I was actually going for Winterberry (red sprite) for her, but I think I should've made the berries more obvious. It's such a challenge to get the tiny details right!

I'm really curious about the hybrid you're working on, too! I can't wait until you get the body home. I definitely need to see pictures!

I received my Black Cherry Ichigo today! I ordered her in the fairy resin tone for an 11 year old Elfdoll body. The body is slightly more yellow, but not too bad considering how old it is!

 

Thank you for sharing this hybrid! I'm surprised how well it fits, it's great to see Ichigo on taller bodies. Well, taller than under 60cm anyway. Too bad all the feedback I've heard about the company really doesn't make me want to order from them...

I ended up with an old super gem body for my Ichigo. It's not a perfect match, especially the colour, but it works surprisingly ok. :'D I'm still colour matching them but I hope I'll get to share some pics soon!

 

@midget16 - I really like her proportions! Ichigo would make a great "older sister" to Xiao Yu.

@Lefrin - I look forward to you sharing your Ichigo.

I just got my Ichigo head today! A spontaneous choice to see if I truly *like* SD size, or not.
This is my second and most *serious* foray into SD size and I'm 100% in love with her. I am forsaking all other dolls for her right now!

I'm looking at a Supia Ballerina body (after going through many), but I also saw mention of Feeple60 Moeline bodies. Does anyone actually have that hybrid?

I think I'm trying to have it all ^_^' proportions, aesthetics and posing!

 

Oh hee! Congrats on the new arrival. By weird coincidence my Ichigo also materialised today - couldn't resist the company face-up, since Mayakdolls, the artist Black Cherry Dolls works with does gorgeous stuff with the lips/brows that I couldn't hope to match with my paltry skills. The sculpt and face-up are both lovely, and I'm ridiculously pleased now that this character is now finally halfway to being shelled.

Hrmm - hybrid/proportions-wise... I've seen the Instagram bodies shots, and in hand Ichigo seems approximately the same sort of scale as Rainman Blina? And my Blina's on a Dollstown 17 body - with, 9cm neck, 12.5cm shoulders, which is one of the example bodies... I'm leaning towards the Doll Family A 68cm body for this girl, since similar 9cm neck, 12cm shoulders type deal - anyone able to hazard opinions on if that seems like a good fit?

I've bought both Ichigo and Kaorin yesterday! I don't know on wich bodies I will put them - and I won't buy some before months- but I like a lot Moon on DT17. I wonder if Kaorin will look as good. I find the head a little too... little on BlackCherry's pictures.

 

My Xiao Yu head in normal is on the way, and I’d like to put her on a Dollzone body. Does anyone have advice on which resin color would be the best match? ETA: I see some previous posters in this thread have used Dollzone bodies, but I’m still torn whether peach or normal pink would be the better match

 

There is an Aishat head on Dollzone body pic here in the thread somwhere, it was normal pink and the match was near perfect)

Just dropping a photo of my new Ichigo head here (Oriental resin), she arrived a couple of days ago and I'm absolutely obsessed.



The eyes are some I had from my minifee and aren't a great size as there is a bit of gaping but she still looks so beautiful.
Wig was made by me a year or so ago (only my 2nd attempt at making a wig so I plan on making her a better one for her final look)

I hope to be back here soon with a full body pic of her when I can afford to get her one.

I've only recently discovered Black Cherry dolls - they're all so lovely!
I just bought an Ichigo head second hand and she's gorgeous!

After a fair amount of reading through this thread I think I'm going to go with a Supiadoll body. Mostly because I have a Supiadoll and I tried Ichigo's head on it and it's not too bad. I think the head does look a tad small, but I like her better on the Supiadoll than the FeePle60 Moe.

That said, my Ichigo head is in fairy and I'm not sure what resin color to get the body in. The color of my Supiadoll matches well but I don't know what it is! I also bought her second hand and there was no COA with her.

Does anyone with more expertise than me have any suggestions? This will be my first ever hybrid

 

Do you know how old your body is? Supia recently introduced a lot of new skin tones.
My "old normal" was decently close to my Ichigo in fairy.

 

I'm pretty certain she has the older body...

Your best bet would probably be to look secondhand for and "old normal skin" from just before the changes were made. Otherwise I would try the rose pink. This is not from experience with the new resin, this is just a guess. The old normal is a close match but technically sliiiiiightly more yellow than fairy skin. I would be worried peach it too yellow. And it's easier to add a bit more pink to her face blush if the body is pinker than the head

hi, not sure if this helps anyone but here goes. I had my Xiao Yu (Normal resin) on a dollstown elf body in fresh (bought her from her owner this way) and I was never happy with the body or the hands. I've been researching for what feels like years and found dollzone ns-pink a pretty near perfect match (not the peach normal which is the newer one but the pink normal).
I was curious about the Souldoll body for her either a msd or vito size but wasn't sure on colour matching. I also looked at the fashion doll by impl but again, not sure on the colour matching.
I've since sold the DT elf body and am thinking about buying her a new Dollzone ns-pink msd size body. This is her on an old one I have (very old by comparison so pretty yellowed) but I don't mind the proportions. I'd like her to have wider shoulders though. Has anyone else tried a msd body? I really want to see Supia minisup in white rose with this head.

FIRST 2 below are on the dz msd size. The body is from around 2017 B45-012 NP, but a new one will match perfectly well.



The next 2 are on the DT Elf fresh body.

 

She looks really good on both bodies. I think I might prefer the DT Elf fresh body just a bit more than the DZ body.

I have mine on the DT Elf body but someone posted a picture of her on a DT Seven Year Old body and I really liked her on that body! I have ordered one, but it hasn't arrived yet.

 

Oh yes! I'd love to see that when you get her. I think I saw that image somewhere but I wasn't sure about it and was looking for a less expensive body because I'm still not sure I want to keep her. I worry about the hands not being delicate enough in size.

@nancy_schroeder_ca ohhh that's my plan for XiaoYu too! (saw the same hybrid image you did) I'm not sure how to order from Dollstown these days...

And speaking of large Black Cherry dolls, not on msd bodies, I've got Ichigo head recently and put her on Blossom doll body (which I got because of falling in love with it and it's blushing/tattoes - and had to think of a suitable head, not very big but with large enough neck). She makes a fantastic shaman girl! Still needs a face-up and a wig, but I can try and take some decentish photos of her.

 

I ordered through Dollstown.com in April. Hopefully it will be here soon!

The body is in customs so it shouldn't be long now. I expect it will be delivered early next week.

 

I was conversing recently with someone in insta who put her moon xiaoyu (which is what I have) on a xaga 53cm body (around 50cm anyway) and it looks pretty amazing to me. It's Normal skin tone is almost a match but I'm not sure if xagadoll's white peach might be closer. Does anyone happen to have that colour xagadoll? I think that will be my hybrid after all.

wow, I don't know what it is for me, I just don't like the dollstown bodies for mine and I do believe it's the arms looking too muscley? She makes a nice younger one on the 7yr body though and maybe easier to handle that way.
Thanks so much for sharing those photos, that's exactly what I think we all needed to see She definitely works on either size which is pretty awesome to see! I'm still hoping to see another on a xagadoll body. I have no experience with whether they're slim like the DT or not though.

 

Does anyone have an Aishat head that they can show on or next to a body of about 57-58cm?

I was considering ordering a 1/3 Argodoll Ifit and realized their heads are really close in size (Aishat = 19.5cm, Ifit = 21cm). I always thought Aishat needed something closer to 63-65cm, but if she could work on this smaller body that would be so great! I can handle this size much more easily.

If it helps, the Argodoll body looks about the same size as my Maskcatdoll 57cm body, which is pretty close in size to Volks SD13. So anything around that size would be a useful comparison.

Has anyone ever tried a Souldoll Vito body for Blackcherry heads?

 

That was my choice but I wasn't sure if the resin match would work with Souldoll it seems pinker and I've never seen white.

Following this thread. I have a Xiao Yu on order, so will need a body for her soonishhhhh. I'd love to see her I. A Bimong Dandelion 53, if anyone has her?!

 

I bought a Feeple60 Chloe (with the intention of selling her head) for my Ichigo and I didn't like the way they looked together. I should have sold Chloe, but of course I didn't. Ichigo's now on an Angell Studio body and I like it better for her.

 

I'm sure I've seen that combo on instagram and it looked good to me, a bit thinner than I would want and I want her to be shorter. If I can find the poster, I'll be sure to let you know

 

Is it because it's the wrong resin tone? I had seen one and the proportions looked ok to me but the colours are not a match.
I think I may end up selling mine, I'm just not finding a hybrid

 

I've seen it now, too, and I agree! I tend to like heavier resin and more pear-shaped bods.... Does this even exist for an XY fit?!

Which resin colour is this one please? I am not wanting a very tall lanky girl really, I love a more curvy shape but I do love Bimong dolls. My Xiao Yu is the DT Flesh match and I'm not sure Bimong have a match?

Oh! That's interesting because my newer and older Minifee in Natural don't match her at all and my feeple is a bit older the only match I had was the DT Elf body in fresh, and the Dollzone in pink normal (not the peach normal). I did here that Luts real normal might close in resin tone.

 

Interestingly, when I bought my Xiao Yu head (I sold the DT Elf fresh body as it was too gangly for me to handle) I did contact Black Cherry and asked about a match and they said they only knew the match worked for the dollstown fresh. I wonder if I shouldn't just have this head repainted and blushed to match a different body. I have her and the sleeping head just sitting in the dark in boxes alone for months, poor things!
