I LOVE Shen, it's such a shame no more will be made. I'd snap her up in a heartbeat.

 

I whole-heartedly agree. She's got the cutest little smile! I admit I was pretty disappointed to hear that she wouldn't be made again.

However, the artist has stated that more heads are in the works, so I'm waiting to see what those look like. Hopefully there will be one that bears a resemblance to Shen!

 

I wonder why no more Shen heads? It's a lovely and exotic head.

So striking and i absolutely love the eye proportions on these girls. Are they special eyes, or is this head just sculpted to take smaller eyes than the average SD head...? They look like special eyes to me because the iris/pupil to whites proportion looks smaller than on most BJD eyes available.

I wonder if this is going to be the trend with this artist. Only releasing a couple of heads then moving on. I don't particularly care for those type of rush releases even if the dolls are seemingly nice.

 

Hope they release Shen again.

These dolls are so beautiful! I would give almost anything to own Shen. Very fussy with my girl dolls but this girl... So stunning! I wish there were more than three. Definitely keeping an eye on this thread and the company. XD

 

I've always liked Shen, when I first saw her posted last year I was sad to see she was just an edition of 3. I'll be watching for the new girls too. V Chan, I know what you mean about the artist moving on, but that's the nature of the artistic soul, there's always something new to create. At least with heads, we can actually afford to buy them when they are released.

I love Aishat! I wish that her open eye head was available. It would be so wonderful to have both

 

I think the closed eye version gives more room for custom, since you can open the eyes in a unique way. =)
I have seen some heads woth eye-opening mod from the first preorder, they looked pretty nice.

 

I am in love with the Aishat head. She's so lovely. She somehow looks peaceful and pensive at the same time.

 

Can't wait to get this girl. I am thrilled! I will need to find someone to open her eyes, but that is a very small concern.

 

Happy to say I just ordered this beauty. So excited!

 

Managed to snag a close-eyed Aishat after the first pre-order --- she really is magnificent! Looks just like she's sleeping!

My Aishat is on an Oasisdoll Chicgirl body. If I ever get a new version SOOM Super Gem body I would have her on that. The combination I'd really like to see though is Aishat on the Dollshe 26F body - that would be amazing!

 

Oh, no, I also watch her on flickr.) Just thought it's a good example of stronger built girl.

I think Oasisdoll is a great body for her, the author has her Aishat on it as well. =)
I'll be sure to try her on Dollshe bodies as soon as I get my hands on them.)

@chizzie_shark Yours makes me think of Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) for some reason, it's really wonderful. Did you have trouble finding suitable wigs for the sculpt? She seems like she has a tall forehead.

 

Glad you think so, because her name is Aurora - yep, after Sleeping Beauty!

A lot of wigs suit her, but I've mostly tried on long wigs with no fringe/bangs. She does have a rather high forehead so the wig shouldn't sit too low otherwise she looks odd. If you have a particular style in mind, I am happy to try different wigs on her (I have way too many wigs...)

Is anyone else getting one of the revamped Aishat heads? I just bought mine, so I'm looking for any ideas as to what matches that White Skin resin. Maybe Dollstown Fresh skin or Pale skin? I really want to put this girl on the new DT 17yrs body

Anyone look at the boy head newly released as well? Bryan is so handsome!

 

zomjirate, I think fresh will be better choice, the head will probably be lighter but that is usually the best option for hybrids since the heads has faceups. =) I think pale will be too, well, pale.)

I just ordered Bryan head and was hoping someone had ideas to share on what body to get as a 13cm neck is quite large but it looks like this thread is not very active. Hmm.

 

@Byakko Oh wow, that hybrid looks great! Thank you so much for sharing these pictures, I was really struggling with whether my Aishat would fit on that body. I think it works (maybe a little bobble headed, but the wig helps a lot). I also think Fresh Skin will be the better match, and now I have a Fresh skin Venitu to compare with my Aishat when she arrives. I am super excited to get this girl put together!

 

More hybrid pics!

This time it is rather unusual since it is male body, but it fits her surprisingly well.

The body is dollzone B60-005 in normal pink, the head is ver.2 in normal skin. The photos, head and body belong to karmade. She said the color match is almost perfect. =)

With the wig on she makes such a sugar-sweet boy. XD - aishat boy

 

Someone in this thread wanted to see an Aishat head on a Dollshe Classic 26F body - you can see two photos of that hybrid on Instagram! Just search the Black Cherry page (black.cherry.dolls) and you'll see her a little way down the list. She looks really good! I only wish the hands on that body were smaller, and that she had thigh mobility joints!

 

Has anybody a normal skin Nikki head on a 5th Motif/timeless body? Does he need Fresh skin or pale skin?
Has anybody any pictures of this hybrid? I know the neck should fit but I'd like to see the hybrid in full to have an idea. I like him on the DSAM body, mind you.

 

I have just come across these heads and love them! Reviews are really good on Etsy regarding the quality. I am running out if space here but swapping heads over periodically is going to be the answer here I think.....just seen both Kaorin and Xiao and can't decide!

 

I just pre-ordered Xiao! I think she will be a great companion to my Merry Doll Round Fang. All the heads are just sooooo pretty that I wish I could get them all! I love sleeping Aishat, too, especially with the "Club Night" faceup.

 

Xiao is lovely, and I agree that she would look great with Merry Doll Round Fang.

And I finally made an order for a sleeping Aishat and an awake Aishat!

I love Greenwolfy's style, so I wanted to make sure to add the faceups in addition to the heads, but now I'm so torn over what colors to choose! I can't decide whether to go with an "all white" style (white hair, pale lashes, etc.) or a "red head" style with freckles.

It is much harder to find a true copper/auburn/fox color in mohair, suri, etc. than it is to find white, but I would like a doll that can echo the atmosphere of Waterhouse's delicate paintings. On the other hand, all-white (with a touch of cheek and lip color) with white lace clothes is one of my favorite bjd appearances ever.

I could always split the choice and go with one style for the "sleeping" head and one for the "awake" head, but I like them both so much that that doesn't really help.

I couldn't decide in the end so ordered both Xiao and Kaorin

So for the Dollstown Elf body: Pale, fresh, or oriental? Which matches?

And has anyone found another body that works for Xiao Yu?

 

I have a Black Cherry Aishat head in WS and one in NS, a Bimong NS head, and WS Iplehouse hands. They are all quite new.

Black Cherry NS and Bimong NS are very close - the Black Cherry NS is a tiny bit pinker, and the Bimong NS a tiny bit darker and peachier. I have read that Bimong NS and Dollstown Oriental is a good match (there are several Dandelion + DT Elf hybrids in these colors) so Oriental may be perfect for Black Cherry NS.

I have also read and seen in photos that Iplehouse white is very close to Dollshe/Dollstown Fresh. If that is true, then Fresh is a tiiiiny bit paler than Black Cherry NS - My NS Aishat head is slightly darker and pinker than the Iplehouse hands when you compare them in natural light.

In indoor light / shadow, the Iplehouse hands are more noticeably lighter and more creamy than Black Cherry or Bimong NS.

That said, I personally bought a Fresh body (Dollshe 26F) for my NS Aishat heads, since I think just a little blushing on the hands and neck would blend the colors well. I was told it was a good match, and I thought Oriental might be too dark.

If you are trying to match Black Cherry WS, then Pale is probably the only option. My WS head is very white.

I'm definitely a fan of BC dolls. I have Brave Aishat with Wolfy's face up and now waiting for a blank Kaorin. For once, it's good to be in Russia — the wait won't be too long.
Also, it's funny how the company's name closely echos my own story-project\roleplay-space\whatever. It must be fate. XD

 

I just found Black Cherry just yesterday, and I'm completely in love with Kaorin. Are these head usually rather limited?
I used to own an Elfdoll Vivien whom I sold and I think Kaorin could make a great new version of her

 

They are not available on regular basis, but Bella opens preorders from time to time and sometimes sells a batch of ready-to-ship heads.

Considering that the listing says "2-4 months" for production time, is that still correct or should I assume the head could be shipped much faster?
I'm considering buying Kaorin if Black Cherry could allow me a layaway.

 

I think it's better to ask Bella directly via message. My Kaorin was already cast and shipped just in a few days. It was about 3 weeks ago. I'm assuming the same pre-cast batch is currently listed on etsy, but I could be wrong.

I have just received my Xiao Yu head in normal skin and she matches the Zaoll body in ns perfectly, both in proportion and resin colour. I'm at the moment torn between the Elfdoll body and another Zaoll body... Bella said that Dollstown Fresh skin matches her normal skin. I have a fresh skin ( at least I think she is fresh skin and not pale skin, second hand from the marketplace...) Dollshe Amanda here, she is paler than Xiao Yu. I'll have to wait until the next month anyway, so I still have time to decide...

 

Oh wow! I thought based on the measurements that Zaoll's neck would be too big for Xiao Yu. But then again, I don't have one to look at in person. Thanks!

 

@MuhKuh Do you have any pictures to share of Xiao Yu on the Zaoll Body?

 

I took some now, but sadly the light is already fading. I might try to take new pictures on the weekend, and then also with the head on the Dollstown body.
In this light, with a closer look the head is a little less pink than the Zaoll body and from the side the neck looks long, but still I think it looks good on that body:
