I could not find a waiting room for any of Bimong's dolls so created this one. Since yesterday I am waiting for Dandelion (53 cm), skin tone new normal.
Awesome! I’m not currently waiting for a Bimong other than two Dandelion heads I’ve bought second hand for my Narae40 body. Can’t wait to see your Dandelion! When is she due to be sent out?
Placed my order for a Narae 41cm fusion body full set with the N402 remake on july 24th currently waiting, SO EXCITED!!! :3
Awesome! I ordered head , and a hand\ feet set for my msd girls. I wish he would sell feet on there own though.
Has anyone had updates on their orders? The pre-order guidelines say that things shouldn't take much longer than 2 months, and I was wondering if those who orders in July received their dolls.
Bimong is a bit late ! He has to fix her breast and joints ! I ordered the body only the 22nd July, and I haven't it yet ! Nobody have his body yet I think ! We have to be patient Have you ordered the body with small breast or other breast ?
I ordered the body in light tan with the normal integral plate chest. Granted, I just ordered last week, so I don't expect any updates for awhile but I was just curious for those who were already waiting. I really hope you get your girly before the end of the year! T-T
Light tan is so pretty ! So you already have a head ? I have the Narae's sleeping 410 head ! And that why I am really excited to have the body, It's sad to have only the head of my girl x) I ordered the body with medium chest ! We don't have seen the different chest yet, so I hope it will not be longer for me, just because I ordered with medium chest :/ Bimong said that he will try to send the bodies before the new year, but I don't know if he will succeed !
Hopefully he will be shipping orders soon! The last couple of days he has been putting kits together on his instagram live stream
Hi Bimong waiting team, I'm a newbie in this waiting room, first time I order a Bimong doll and I'm super excited because she has been my grail for quite a while, make that years xD. So today I ordered a Smiling Narae N404 Fusion body fullset. I put it on a 3-month layaway just to be safe, but I will probably finish paying her by the end of the month. Haven't received a confirmation email or a payment invoice yet, but I guess I will be receiving one within the day. Can somebody give me an idea of the waiting times? My doll's skintone is oriental, no faceup up and integral chest type. Nice to meet ya all!
I am sorry. I realised I did not make photos of my Dandelion yet. I must admit I am having trouble getting used to her size (53 cm), she is just so tall... On the other hand, the sculpt is beautiful. So I am hesitating, should I sell her as she is still brand new or wait. @~*memole*~, I had to wait for 3 months. So not much longer as the promised 2 months.
Has anyone had any updates on the shipping of Narae? I feel like many of us have been waiting 5-6 months. Any word?
To update anyone who might be wondering- Bimong announces that by the end of February, all of the july - august orders will be shipped. March will begin the orders that started in September onward
Just put a 41cm Narae Fusion body on layaway a few days ago. I’m super stoked to eventually get that doll body home. I’ve been such a fan of Bimong’s work for a good couple years, so nice to finally have an excuse to buy something. Looks like waits are generally anyway from 3-6 months? @Corarock Congrats!
Just got my Narae 402 Fusion Body 2 days ago!!! It is gorgeous could not say enough good things about both the fusion body and bimong’s customer service! Just Excellent!!! PS. I would recommend anyone with the fusion body to be careful with detachable breasts, it is perfectly made, what happened was 100% my fault, but be careful both when exchanging the detachable piece, AND when bending/slouching the doll forward, the detachable piece has this small “ledge” like piece in the center bottom, when i tried to have my doll slouch forward, it broke off, so far, this seems not to affected the detachable piece or the doll’s posing at all, so all is good just thought i’d do a little PSA
Thanks to a friend paying me back for a console I sent them, I was able to pay off what I had left owed for my fusion body! Now just to wait.
Forgot to post an update, but my Narae 41cm Fusion body came in the mail back on May 22nd. It is a wonderful body and I’m so happy to have it home. It’s terribly wonderful to play with and pose. I was so surprised by the texture of the resin! I’m so used to companies sanding their dolls completely smooth (or nearly so). Don’t know if I’d call it rough since that makes it sound unpleasant (and I have a few dolls that have rough spots that aren’t fun to touch), but it definitely has a much more textured surface than pretty much any doll I’ve owned. I imagine that really helps a lot to add friction between pieces so the body holds poses better.
My Narae just made it to the faceup artist today. She'll get the full treatment. Can't wait. So close and yet so far! She's been on my want list for a while now.
Can I say that I'm waiting to be waiting? I rather desperately want a Narae 38cm fusion with the N40S head or the N404 14mm head and according to a comment on his instagram, the 38cm fusion bodies will be in stock at the end of November.
I started a five month layaway on a full set 38cm Cocoro in new normal resin in early December. Bimong is a grail, so I am excited to get her.
Congratulations on your layaway. I got my 38cm fusion body grail (albeit with the Chuu head) three days ago and she's fantastic.
I'm joining this waiting room. I discovered Bimong literally a few days ago, and I've never fallen so hard for a doll artisan/company since I fell in love with Dollstown when I was a BJD newbie. I've just put down a deposit on 68cm Narin Grey/fusion body in classic normal skin, and plan to pay the balance in a few months' time. Bimong said production time is 6 months. This has kinda thrown a spanner into all my doll plans for this year (I had already sorted out all my doll buying plans, oof!), but Bimong's dolls blew me away the moment I laid eyes on them. Don't know when I'll be able to order a 1/3 boy from him in the future, so ... I guess I'm doing that now.
Hi there My Bimong Cocoro is on the way. I'm very excited! @Crissaegrim do you mind me asking what size clothes you have tried with your 38cm body? I can't work out if MSD or YOSD will fit best. Although, I imagine in reality it will be a bit of both.
@kimlouiseb I'm afraid I won't be much help as I don't actually have a lot of company made doll clothes. Thus far she's been in the one set of Iplehouse FID clothes that I own which were a bit big on her but after that I've just custom made her clothes. What I can tell you is that they're fairly close to a Minifee in body dimensions, apart from the height difference. So I'd bet more heavily on MSD sized clothing although if you're going for full-length trousers or a floor length dress then you might have to take things up.
I've just paid off the remaining owed on my preorder for Narin 68cm. *settles in a for a lengthy wait* Seems like Bimong is getting close to wrapping up his Narae 43cm orders, going by the photos on his Instagram... I'm really looking forward to seeing his progress on Narin 68cm.
Just bumping this thread as a heads up. Bimong's final "I'm retiring" preorder for his BJDs will be held in November only. See this announcement on Instagram. He hasn't listed which dolls and heads will be available yet. The orders will be done through his website - http://art-bimong.com I am still waiting for my Narin68 which I ordered in January through Instagram DMs and paid off completely. Bimong confirmed that he'll make my doll for me, so I'm hopeful that my doll be shipped before the end of this year (which is his timeline for the Nov preorder). By that time I would've waited almost a whole year for my Narin68.
Oh wow, I had no idea he'd been around that long. I might end up grabbing one of the Narae heads if I can. As much as I'd love a second 38cm body, I don't think that's on the cards but I can swing a head.
@DaemonFae - When I ordered Narin in January, Narin68 hadn't been made yet - Bimong said he was going to sculpt Narin68, and use Narin65 as the template. But he quoted 6 months lead time to me, which seemed acceptable. I trusted in Bimong's past reputation and paid for my doll. I contacted Bimong in July after 6 months, and he said that Narin68's design was delayed, and the ETA was pushed to the end of this year. He offered me a refund, but I decided to keep waiting, and told him I would check in again in October. I was about to contact Bimong this month when he released news of his retirement. Since Narin68 is part of this preorder, I'm more confident that he is going to make good on his promise and sculpt this doll. I've since checked in with him and he confirmed again he'll make my doll. When his website opens up for preorders, I'm going to check in again to be absolutely sure I'm getting what I ordered in January. So yeah, I bought a doll sight unseen -- and likely unsculpted -- back in January. I wanted a 1/3 Bimong doll, and I trusted in his reputation. So far he's honoured my trust - he was quick to reply to me, and he did offer a refund in July. OTOH I also didn't expect to be waiting this long for Narin, and that he'd be so delayed with making this doll (and he did explain the delays a little bit but I didn't push for more info). Furthermore his preorder announcement had the little footnote that the "SD dolls will take 3 - 6 months". So worst come to worst, I won't receive my doll until May 2024. I'm getting quite antsy about all this waiting, but I'm also hopeful that Bimong will actually make progress on Narin68.
Ordered a Narin N61E head last night in D skin, hoping it matches something because I have no idea what body he will go on when he arrives lol
From Instagram it looks like Bimong is starting to pack 1/4 Naraes for shipping... has anyone received shipping notice yet? I'd love to know when people receive their dolls from his last preorder! (I really want my Narin68... ) . 15 Feb update (updating my post since I don't want to double-post)... I asked Bimong for an update on production of the 1/3 dolls. He said they're scheduled in 4 months' time: "The last pre-order is more than expected, so we are producing the MSD dolls first." He also made a public comment on this IG post that the 1/3s are scheduled for May.
Small bump to ask if anyone has received their dolls from Bimong's final preorder? Last I read, the 1/4s were being casted. As I wrote in my above post - Bimong told me that the 1/3 dolls are scheduled to go into production in May or June. If you've ordered a 1/3 doll, has Bimong given the same update to you? It's almost 14 months since I put down my deposit on Narin68 (which turned out to be a 11-month advance on joining his final preorder, lol damn it )... I do hope Bimong stays punctual to his estimated dates. And I hope that new studio he's building will actually expedite production and shipping on his final preorder. I wonder what's up with that. I thought he was retiring? (edited to add) For the record, I bought Narin68 "off-season" - I wrote more about it here
I'm sorry you are having to wait so long! 14 months is quite a wait. I had to smile a bit when I saw the news about the new studio. It may be that he plans to do other things rather than sculpting and casting dolls (he does seem to enjoy different types of crafting) but I'm not convinced he CAN retire from making bjds. It might be in his blood at this point. The dolls won't let him retire X) Regardless, I hope that he will stick to the schedule and that you'll receive your Narin soon.
I hope so too, because my cynicism increases the longer time goes on. If I measure time from Bimong's final preorder, the production time for the 1/3 dolls is not unreasonable yet, but I'm getting quite jaundiced about my own experience. Someone else in the 1/3 thread had a similar and earlier experience to me and asked for a refund, and perhaps I should've done the same in July 2023 after that 6 months of dead time when Bimong basically told me he'd done nothing about Narin68... That said, I may have turned around and joined his final preorder anyway, because I still want a Bimong doll. I guess the lesson here is to not order anything from Bimong until he has a proper preorder open, because who knows when he will fulfill it. Anyway, I'd still like to know if anyone has received their doll/s yet! (edited to add) For the record, I bought Narin68 "off-season" - I wrote more about it here
I totally understand your point of view. It is a long time to wait, and it does seem like orders placed months before the final preorder should have been fulfilled before that preorder began. At any rate, I hope that if anyone has received any dolls they will let you know! I wish Instagram's search system wasn't so mangled these days, or I'd look for some owners for you (I used to be able to find such helpful owner photos there)!
I'm still waiting for my Narae 58 and Narin 68 from the final preorder...not optimistic about the wait time
@aihre I'm not sure why I didn't think to check/post in this thread before. I ordered a 41cm 1/4 body in the final preorder on November 29, but finalized on December 5th. I've never ordered from Bimong before so I don't have a baseline. It was through Instagram and he requested F&F, but I paid the extra PP fees so I could send it G&S. I have lived through waiting for a Dollshe and I'm honestly a little worried? I saw the building of the studio and it concerns me, but I'm wondering if that's my Dollshe PTSD. I can't imagine given his background and how steady he's been anything bad could happen.....
For context... I bought Narin68 "off-season" - I wrote more about it here. So my experience is not universal (and partially my own fault), and it is definitely influencing my opinions below. Hence I'm asking other people to chime in, so that there's a more balanced view and I'm not the only squeaky wheel here. . @twylight The new studio building made me raise an eyebrow too. I understand that Bimong "retired" before, then came out of retirement to make more dolls... and now he claims he's retiring again. On one hand, as StellaMarigold said, perhaps he can't get away from BJD sculpting so maybe we'll have more Bimong dolls in future, which is nice. On the other hand, if I read it at my most cynical, this is evidence of someone who keeps changing his mind and is unable to keep his word. Of course, this is all coloured by my bystander POV (there's bound to be more about the new studio going on in the background that I don't know about) and my own experience of Bimong not keeping his promised deadlines to me. He initially quoted July 2023, then "end of 2023", and now May/June 2024. What grinds my gears is not the wait time, but it's the deadline continually being pushed further and further out, without any clear indication (yet) that the Narin68 I ordered is actually being made. When I made my order in Jan 2023 I expected to receive a doll before the end of the year -- it seems reasonable that it would be enough time to revise Narin68, make the master, and cast the resin BJD. I did not expect that most of 2023 would be dead time where Bimong has apparently done nothing about Narin68, and my order would be rolled into this Nov 2023 final preorder. In some ways I feel more secure now (because if Bimong crashes and burns he'll be doing it in front of more people than just me), but it doesn't change the fact that he'll probably be a year overdue on his initial quoted production date to me. And yes, this looks uncomfortably like Dollshe. At this stage, I think Bimong will still fulfill his orders for the 1/3 dolls. But from my experience, and reading vauhtikatti's report about their own refund (here's the link to their actual post - I typo'd the link in my previous post and I've fixed it now), I'm also getting the impression, warranted or not, that the 1/3 dolls are not his priority. (The story is probably different for the 1/4 dolls.) I'm no longer willing to trust his ability to keep to his estimated timelines, I will not recommend buying from Bimong "off season" anymore no matter what he says is available (it was not the wisest thing I've done, and is still not the wisest thing I'm doing - continuing to wait for my doll instead of pulling out), and I don't think I will buy another doll directly from him again.
Commenting for extra data: order for Narae 58cm body; final payment Nov 22, 2023. When messaged couple days ago asking when production of the body might be done, bimong replied "it starts next month." There was a bimong box opening post recently. But not sure how relevant it is to the waiting room since I think it was for an in stock doll with an option part(small chest piece) that held up the order for a bit.
I’m in a layaway for a narae58 Eva. I ordered her with the last preorder as well. I’m hoping he keeps to his promise of May/june. My last payment is due this month I believe, and he’s always been very prompt to respond when I DM him after paying, which seems promising!
I've just paid off the last of my layaway for my 58 Eva and 68 Grey...I hope Bimong will be quickish with making them
Bimong posted an update saying it'll be at least 3 more months until the 1/3 sized dolls are finished. 1/4 will be finished in the next few weeks (hopefully) bimong on Instagram: "The studio for sending dolls is now almost completed. ✈️ If we get permission to complete the building in two weeks, we will start shipping from the MSD series♂️♀️ Since the order volume is higher than expected, I'll try to start shipping in three months for customers who ordered the SD series.♂️♀️ I will work hard to give the best doll to all customers who have waited for more than half a year.♂️ #bimongdoll#"
One of my friends got their Grey head from the final preorder, so there's been some, albeit minor, progress that is visible to me. I'm waiting on a 53cm Dandelion full doll and jointed hands, so I am assuming it will be after July for me.
Ohh that's awesome! So at least that means he started shipping stuff out. I ordered a 38cm SM narae with jointed hands, so I suspect I'll be at the end of the 1/4 orders. I imagine the jointed hands are very fiddly and irksome to assemble, so they're likely at the bottom of the list tbh
That's great news! Glad to see updates and movement on the preorder. I hope everyone receives their 1/4s safely!
Opfh too late for me though! I leave next week for my 2 month working stint this summer. I won't be able to see my body till August. It's gonna be a long 8 weeks.
