Big BB Discussion(All Companies)

Mar 24, 2017

    1. Hey there, lovelies. I'm looking to get a doll in this size, but I'm not sure where to start. All the faces are so cute, so I'm mostly worried about bodies. What are y'all's favorites? I really want something that poses very well. For this reason, I'm not sure single jointed is for me, but I've heard of some bodies which are excellent posers while still being single jointed, so I'm not ruling it out entirely. Any recommendations?

    2. @GammaVector - I totally understand. :) I love my BDF and my Holiday's Child dolls, but their single-jointed-ness does limit their posing quite a bit. :)

I ordered a Gem of Doll Miroro a few months ago, and she just arrived yesterday. Her body actually looks quite similar to the single-jointed girls, but she is infact double-jointed, and poses wonderfully. <3

      This is my Emeilyne.

    3. I need to do another comparison of my big baby group but you might want to check my pictures of my Myou 40 cm Loretta here: /threads/myou-loretta-40cm-baby.708657/

The Myou 40 cm body is actually double jointed but acts like a single jointed body also. The knee and elbow peanuts tend to stay in the lower limbs unless you pull them out for a more extreme bend.

The 43 cm body has ball elbow and knee joints. These give a very smooth bend to the elbow or knee when bent.

Zaga dolls are very nice also but can be a long wait. I haven't really tested how much posing they can do yet.

    4. Finally! Toile received her body, so we are all together! I so need a boy now ;)

    6. @Snowy Nao-chan is so adorable in her new wig! Great style for her!!

    7. Hi Guys! After lurking at looking at your pics, I finally took the plunge and got a Big Baby! I reallly like this new size doll. I got Myou Big Baby Loretta. I am having trouble with the chubby feet though. I did see on the Myou BBaby thread that they have smaller feet too. I am going to order those so hopefully I can use the shoes I already have.

    8. Because my obsession with these dolls is high, I'm constantly looking for one to purchase. I really want a Bon Bon from Rosen Lied but the one I wanted sold out before I even got a chance.

In my search I found some dolls that I'm not sure have been talked about or shown here on the message board. If this is a problem, feel free to delete my post.

Amaris Doll - Aglaya - There seems to be just the one doll but they have her dressed in different clothes and different make-up. Each doll is sold as a full-set.

Another Doll Lynn - Version 1 and Version 2 - This doll is limited. I think the only difference between the two are makeup and clothes but I'm not sure.

    9. Oh my goodness! She is gorgeous! Congratulations!!! The smaller feet are a little easier to fit to shoes, but still won't fit anything too narrow or with tight straps that go up higher on the foot, or with higher heels. I have small feet on one and chubby feet on the other and have still found a number of shoes to fit, but usually plain maryjane style made. Good Luck with the shoes!

The Amaris doll is lovely, not quite as chubby looking as some, and not the large head. She is probably more like an original MSD size rather than a BB from what I can tell. Very pretty sculpt!
I love the AnotherMe dolls, and Lynn is just beautiful! They are definitely on my radar for a future purchase! I love the Lynn outfits!
I hope you join us in purchasing a big baby soon @fairylin!

    10. Whisperwolf...thanks so much for the info. May I ask what shoes you have found to fit the chubby feet?

    11. I bought these and they fit for sure both sizes: kitty shoes
And these I got a couple of pairs (sometimes I remove the strap for a different look) and they fit both sizes Edged MaryJanes from this seller
Both of these you could probably find from other sellers, that's just where I purchased them.
ie: edged maryjanes straight from China for cheaper or if you want in on the sale: Kitty shoes
Good luck @myownlittleworld! The chubby cuteness of the MYou chubby feet are just so adorable, but I ended up liking the skinny ones as well. I also love MYou's extra pair of hands, and switched out one hand on each of my girls for the extra set.

      • x 1
    12. Question. Did you get both the hands and the feet included with your Big Baby Purchase from Myou or were they an extra cost?

    13. Ahhhh thanks so mcuh, whisperwolf!!! I like the chubby feet too, they are cute but I had one old pair of shoes I had to cut down the back to cram those feet into! HA
fairylin, I bought my Myou through Junly Spot and she came with extra hands marked "gift" but only the chubby feet. I asked Myou on facebook about the smaller feet and they told me they could be special ordered eith through them or Junkyspot.

    14. Ah! That's a great deal! Thanks so much!

    15. I got the feet free with my Sally and purchased the extra hands, I think they were $18-$20 USD but don't remember for sure (thru Alice's Collection). Then I got the hands free with my Matcha (straight from MYou). So I have 2 sets of the extra hands, and 1 extra pair of small feet total.

    16. Thanks to both you and @myownlittleworld. :)

    17. Anyone know where I can find 5cm shoes? Also, would MDD clothes fit my new Doll Legend BB when she arrives?

      • x 4
    18. Stormlight...So cute!! I was offered a Nianer in trade. Now seeing your pic, I am glad I accepted the offer!! I have Loretta already. So glad you posted so I was able to see them together. I love how Nianer looks in the red wig.Cant wait for her to arrive now. LOL
Princess Kenny....the head is cute. There are so many in this size! BTW, what is the adorable doll in your avatar????

    19. I didn't think there were many floating heads of this size being sold. That makes me so happy to hear!

The one in my profile picture is a LoongSoul Big Baby Heidou. He was the first doll I fell in love with! He's not a very popular sculpt, unfortunately, but I hope to be able to afford him someday.

      • x 1
    20. I personally like the less popular sculpts. I always like marching to a different drum. : )

      • x 2
    21. I don't prefer the open mouth either, Princess Kenny. But I LOVE that swimsuit she wears in some of the pics!!! I hope they add it for sale!

@Stormlight your girls are so adorable! I have always loved Nianer and hope to own her someday!

    22. Love all the pictures! I've been a little curious about Big BB dolls up til now, and now I'm starting to wonder if a Big Baby would work for another character I want to make- not looking too far ahead here, but it could be a good option!

This is so helpful, thanks for the photo!

    23. Not sure how many people realized this, but Doll Legend's BB bodies can be bought alone, although their heads cannot. Again, wasn't sure how many knew that since Doll Legend is a lesser known company to start with.

Also, both of their two BB sculpts have optional genders. Among the selections you make when buying a body and head, one of them is the gender for the body. So the sculpts themselves are androgynous.

    24. @damedanbo Glad to have been of help -^^- Ah! Du keep in mind thought, that my Xaga BB is only 38 cm. I don't have one of the more common sizes around, that have MSD size.

In a way you have reminded me thought, that I wanted to take more pics. Especially now that my precious little Nao-chan has the wig I originally planned for her -^^-

    25. Oh @Snowy! She is beautiful! That wig suits her perfectly!
I'm hoping to take some pics later with the rRabit clothes I got.

    26. @wisperwolf rRabit?! What set did you get for your girl?! -^3^- Also thanks -^^-

    27. She's such a cutie!!

    28. I bought some rRabit items my Matcha, Toile is modeling. Dignity was snug and cuffs don't button (on Ellowyn), and the Charlotte fit very well (on Toile), tulle Petti skirts (snug), and the adorable 'curtain skirt'. I had also bought a Benjament shirt for someone else, and decided to try it on, the buttons on the cuffs wouldn't fit. I also got Toile the boots, which fit her small feet well.

    29. Their outfits are to die for @whisperwolf ! Gorgeous steampunk ladies.

Have yall seen the new big BB's from Dollzone? I really love Mandy. She looks like a cartoon character from the 40's.

    30. Thanks Cydril! A lot of the pieces were rRabit, so I can't take all the credit ;)
Mandy is adorable! Such a sweet baby face. I love the body sculpts of the Dollzone BB. So cute and chubby but sturdy looking.

    31. I love everyone's dollies here! The new Dollzone girls are cute, especially the Hal! I spoke with them months ago about a boy bb body and they confirmed it. Just have to wait. Though the DZ baby body seems bigger than all the rest of the bb body's across the board. Might be hard to clothe if you don't sew. Telesthesia doll has two new bb girls too!

    32. I've got a Myou pear body Matcha on the way home. Can't wait to take comparison photos for her vs my Petit Dahlia. <3

    33. The waiting period for my Doll Legend Miaoji is killing me!

    34. So here is a first comparison photo for my Petit Dahlia and my Myou Matcha. :aheartbea

    35. Love looking at the Big BB size dolls they are all soo cute

    36. Does anyone know where I can find panties and shoes for my new BB?! She didn't come with any panties, which is a problem, because both of her outfits are a tad see through!

    37. MSD size panties should fit most BB. If you sew, you could try your hand at making 'pumpkin pants' which are a fairly simple design.

    38. I do sew, but I don't think I have any material on hand right now, and I have zero experience with elastic. I tried giving her a spare set that belong to my other MSD, but her hips are much wider and they wouldn't fit. It's weird too, because other dolls from the same company come with panties.

Now that I think about it though, I do have a pair of pantaloons that go with a school uniform. I already know that the uniform fits her, so I bet those will. Not exactly panties, but at least it'll keep her decent.

    39. My luts baby delf did not come with panties, but both of my MYou BB did. I, personally, think all doll companies should include a pair of panties/boxers with purchase of a doll body! Especially with dolls this expensive! Every other doll out there would naturally come with a basic starter outfit or panties.

    40. Right? And it really doesn't make sense in this case. Doll Legend includes undies with their other dolls, why not the BBs?

    41. The Myou panties are really nice too! Their MSD girls come with a bra and panties set but the bra doesn't like to stay in place.

      • x 1
    42. Ha, ha. I can relate. My Doll Legend MSD girl came with a tube bra that didn't wanna stay up. Unfortunately, I lost it, which is annoying since her nightgown shows her nipples. ^^;

I did find a pair of panties for my Chubby on Etsy, as well as a pair of shoes that will match both her outfits, so it's all good. They should be here by the time she gets back from blushing and face ups.

    43. Thank goodness @Pinkrose064! I have found tons of great things for my BB on etsy looking up Disney Animator dolls! I've tried a number of clothing companies/sellers and post my results on here (as do other people), so if you are considering someone or something, check this thread (or the MYou BB thread) to see if anyone mentions that company's fit.

    44. I found that my Myou BB and the Yo-SD BB both could wear their specific size of shoe. Like MSD and Yo-SD shoes.

    45. I took a comparison photo of my BB, the Myou 30cm tiny and a Volks Yo-SD. Here they are so you can see some size differences for them.

      • x 2
    46. My BB cannot. Her feet are too wide to fit in the shoes that my MSD wears. I had to buy her a separate pair.

    47. It took a lot of cramming and the worlds thinnest socks on my Myou girl.

    48. Mine wasn't even wearing socks. ^^;

    49. There are two sizes of feet available for the original 40cm Myou body and only one size for the taller pear body. I'll do a comparison when I can.

    50. Ah-hah... perhaps I should note that my BB is not a Myou? She is a Doll Legend.

    51. I'm not quite sure what BB stands for but am thinking, from looking on this thread, that they're MSD sized dolls with more baby/child like bodies.
I was wondering if Linda Macario's Linda fits in here, she's the MSD size but her body is chubby and child-like, and there doesn't seem to be any where else that she fits in, poor girl!!

    52. BB stands for Big Baby and I think your girls fits right in!

    53. She’s adorable! And definitely looks at home in this thread.

      That may be the difference!

    54. Thank you @nancy_schroeder_ca! She's happy that finally there is somewhere she can 'hang out'!

Thank you @AlmySidaKay, hopefully she will encourage other Linda Macario girls to show their faces here too, as I don't think there are any groups for them, not even on Flickr!

Thought I'd just share another photo of her, this was her first day of Brownies. She looks very apprehensive, doesn't she! The outfit was made for the vinyl Sasha Morgentaller dolls and shoes were also made for Sasha. Most Sasha clothes are a bit loose on her but don't look too bad, which is fortunate because I have a lot of Sasha sized clothes here!! (I've since changed her eyes to brown glass ones and think they suit her much better than the ones in the photo below).
