@Kaizuko JB ; I haven't used Flickr for photos here myself, but from what I read earlier there are occasionally issues with being able to use Flickr for direct links. Most of the pages I've seen turned out fine, though. Personally, I've stuck to Facebook, but I am thinking of migrating to Instagram or Flickr soon. My problem with tumblr is that it tends to ruin the quality of the photos, you can only post about 10 at a time, and the site itself isn't exactly... coded to perfection, so to speak. (I still use it, of course, but I'm not overly fond of sharing photos there.)
I tried Photobucket and didn't like the setup so I switched to Flickr and have been using it for 3 years now. It's really easy to use, easy to find other pictures and groups, and also very easy to upload photos to DoA.
I use google photos (1TB subscription) and instagram. Mostly because i only use the laptop to play (wow/sims). So everything i do, is from my cellphone. Also, when my previous cellphone got stolen, i did not lose any photos, so i totally fell for their service. Pros : For photos, i usually use my cellphone camera (Samsung G5), so the fact google upload them as a background task, is totally appealing. Cons : Referring the photos to the forums is quite long and boring!
I have a personal preference for tumblr because of it's micro-blogging concept; makes it very easy to both share your photo's but also small pieces of text or updates. It's the perfect compromise of photosharing website like flickr and a blogsite like blogspot.
Each service has its own look and feel. I have not been able to pinpoint the "best" place because sites where I receive more response for my photos have trade-offs. Instagram and Tumblr have given me the highest numbers of "likes" and "followers," but I find it painful to send my DSLR photos to my tablet in order to upload them to Instagram, and I find the alerts on both sites a little too stimulating. Additionally, much photo quality can be lost on those sites. Flickr offers engagement and quality without the alert overload, and many bjd photo pools for your particular sculpts and style. I use Photobucket mainly, paying $1 a month for ad-free (a MUST!), because it is so easy to upload straight from Lightroom, and then share with direct links on forums and blogs.
