Belated Welcome to Delanai! (IpleHouse Scarlet)

Jan 8, 2015

    1. So my Scarlet actually arrived on Dec 22, after a wait of only 55 calendar days!
Unfortunately, my camera decided to be a brat and ruin my actual box-opening photos, except for a few.
Meanwhile, we've been busy trying to get my water-damaged floors replaced, and they found mold growing on the back of some of my walls as well, so all my Resins have been in hiding from the construction going on.
On the plus side, the motel I'm staying at is right above the beach, so I brought her along today and got some more photos!
(Yes, I finally made the cardinal sin of taking some of my IpleHouse dolls out in the sun. :o)

I asked IpleHouse for a slight custom change of Faceup A with the lips of Faceup B and they delivered. ^_^

      The original box-opening pics:

A few more taken the other day:

She's wearing the bodice from the Ophelia set with the rest of the Witch Hunter set that my Carina didn't need.
I'm considering dying the bodice, but I haven't decided what color yet, and I think a shorter skirt is in order.
She's also missing her horns and fluffy tail at the moment, but finding faux-fur to match that wig is going to be difficult.

Rest of the photos in reply!

Hanging out with her old friend Rinian (IH Leonard). These two could work as siblings, don't you think?

With one of the crew of her ship, Nivah (IH Zera). (Yes, the CH character was kind of appropriate for Delanai too.)

This wig is a bit uncooperative, and the wind definitely wasn't helping. I may try restyling it.

Sorry for sharing so many, but I wanted to show her from various angles, and... well, it's hard to choose!

      Thanks for viewing! ^_^

    3. Your pictures are so beautiful the outside pictures :D she looks so pretty in her dress looking out the sea and enjoy the day.
      Congrats on getting her.

    4. OH MY GOODNESS, these are stunning pictures of stunning dolls! That last shot is particularly gorgeous! I'm so happy for you.

And you know, it's kind of a sin NOT to take them outside. The gorgeous resin colors photograph so well in daylight. <3

    5. I went with the same combo on her face-up, so I'm glad you posted these pics! She's quite lovely.

You're very brave to take them outdoors: Im nervous just taking them out inside my house during the daytime!

    6. She is very lovely! Congrats!

    7. she does look really good and i particularly like the last shot which is very atmospheric

    8. She's stunning! Congratulations on having her home! :)

    9. She is simply gorgeous! And while it stinks that you have had some water and mold issues...it's nice that you can be so close to the beach! I really miss the ocean (I grew up in Florida).

    10. Very beautiful, she looks radiant in the sun.
I can sympathise about keeping dolls in boxes, we too have damp and apart from a couple, all my dolls are stored away till the damp is fixed.

    11. Congrats!
      I love her complexion.

    12. Scarlett is such a beautiful girl....I just love the slight smirk to her mouth. Yours is lovely....and your photos are great! With windchills in the -teens today here, that sunny beach is doubly gorgeous in my Midwestern eyes... :-)

    13. She is beautiful, and I love that skin tone. It looks get in the sun light.

    14. My commiseration on the water damage and mold--nasty stuff. Congratulations on Scarlet's arrival. She certainly could work as a sibling for Leonard--there is something similar about their eyes. Speaking as someone with a couple of green BIDs, I hope your resins didn't get too much sun!

    15. wow congratulation she looks amazing

    16. Congrats! She is gorgeous from the tip of her wig to the tip of her toes!! Still waiting for my Scarlet to come home, Iple said it will
      take another week....sigh..........

Love the beach photos, it makes Delanai look like a mermaid wanting to go back home to the ocean!

    17. Thank you, everyone! I still feel a bit bad I couldn't salvage the photos I took of her in several other wigs, which might have been useful to someone. I hope this at least did her sculpt justice. ^_^
And I just realized I forgot to say she's in Light Brown resin, in case there was any doubt!

sidroq: Aww, thank you! I did kind of cheat by planting a driftwood twig in the sand under her skirt for more stability. I'm less afraid of taking them outside here in Oregon than I was down in the Arizona desert. No way I would have done it in 117-degree weather!

Dusk: I've done it with a couple of my smaller dolls before, with no major incidents yet. I did have to touch up one's faceup after he faceplanted in the CA redwood forest, however.

swazini: Believe me, I missed the ocean all 25 years I lived in AZ. So glad to be back in my original home-state!

Zoo Lady: Sorry to hear that - I hope your problem will be fixed soon too!

vermont chick: I kept her in my shadow a good portion of the time, so hopefully not! Thank you!

princess pink: I did think it was an appropriate location for the character! ^_^ Hope yours gets home soon!

    18. so pretty! I really do think her Leonard could be related

    19. I love her face with this skin. She's very beautiful. Congrats!!!

    20. She's so beautiful!

    21. Her skin is beautiful!

    22. She's fabulous.

    23. She is beautiful!

    24. She's beautiful! very strong-looking. Fantastic couple!!!!! Congrats! :D

    25. Gosh I love her skin tone and eyes! She reminds me of a gypsy with that outfit. It's stunning.
Also, the default faceup is quite beautiful. I love the defined eyebrows and eyeshadow gradation. Congratulations!
