EID tops? Ah it might look like we need to put in another IH order @___@ (Pity we bought an SID top with our last one, but MegaGems ARE smaller then these pretty, pretty boys. Not that we REALLY mind that he's naked =P )

as nice as these guys are it's really the eye mechanism that gets me (though I do like the large size too ;p) I still prefer my Iples Make an Iple with those eyes and .... I'd sell my dad to get one LOL.

 

Ah I saw a teaser photo of Star on the Bewithyou Instagram (which I didn't even know they had until I stumbled across it pft) and skfr. I totally want one with Faceup B *u* (A is really nice too.)

Our Wood is going off to the local seamstress on Satuday so he'll finally have some clothing xD

Mmmm depends? Wyatt has a tendency to fall over backwards, but so do pretty much every single one of my dolls who don't have a hip joint. But I've found that if you can find the right angle he'll sit just fine.

 

nancy_schroeder_ca: Seven sits very well, those guys have a lock in the thigh ball joint that keep him secure in sit pose. I will try to post a pic. ^_^

 

I remember reading in this thread once that bewithyou offered layaway if you email them.

Lady Tiku: Well the knob helps the double joint part stay in place and is like a pivot point works fine. Pirate IH are amazing!

Seven poses really nice I mean, I know Wyatt can pose nicely but we haven't done much with him just out of fear of his size (and we need to restring him cause his legs are reeaalllyyy floppy; like how SuperGem's get when they have heavy fantasy parts on >__> ) He's currently getting clothing made though so uh xD Photos when he comes home???

I hope someone buys Star. He's so pretty ;A; I'm still a little weirded out (read; annoyed/dislike) by the eye mechs. Rue accidentally "broke" them the other day and is now more comfortable with the whole thing because he had to figure out how it went back together but I'm just... I dunno I'm a bit old fashioned and like moving the eyes myself xD Still, I'll admit it's pretty handy.

 

Seven was trying some of his shirts. All of them suppose to be EID size, fits well, but when he bends his arm, it may be a bit short on his wrist. I did his pants, because I can not find that size and they fits perfectly ^_^ I'm very proud of it.

You know, I bought "Penis" precisely for his name. My husband even told me to do so. lol I named him Peanut for dignity's sake, but when I eventually gave him to a friend, she changed it back to Penis.
It was actually a hack, and the company was mortified when they found out. But still... made their mark in history with that one!

I wonder though, has anyone gotten a Wood (or Starr) and not gotten one of the default faceups? I kinda want to know what they look like in the hands of other artists...

Oh thanks dear. The eye mechanism have many parts, maybe it was just in pieces and just need to assemble again.

I planed Seven to be a graffiti artist and I still planing that but I been so busy and lately I'm not so inspired with my BJD as years ago... T_T I have mini paint cans and a backpack in proses just waiting to be completed.

Yeah... I want to get so many new dolls, but well I have to think that I already have a LOT of BJD who need new shoes and clothes and many are uncompleted. T_T but but I want a Star!!! LOL
And OMG "Peanut for dignity's sake" LOL That situation was so funny, my husband laughed so much with that too; and I didn't know about IOS... is worst when your main lenguage is Spanish.

By the way, Mr YG use that name (Wood) for other of his creations, he have a 1/6 action figure called Wood and a Papertoy too but is not tha same character, just the name.

I wish I didn't find this thread! I told myself I'd never consider buying over a 60cm boy, but DAT body. The eye mechanism is very enticing as well.

For the eye-mechs though, I know you'd need eyes with a stem but what all works in them?? None of the glass eyes I own have long stems (if stems at all; and don't you need something hollow because the springs go in the stem?) and half of my acrylics don't even have backs so >___>

 

not that I have the first clue about modding but could you add to the stem-less eyes... mold one on with w/e it is that ppl use?

 

Ahhh I don't know a thing about modding either xD In some regards I almost think it would be easier to buy a pair of acrylics that's brighter/better quality (though I'll admit, the ones he came with were nice. Better than the acrylics Fairyland gives out [and even some of their glass :C] )

You're right, the mechanism works for that kind of acrylic eyes, like GLIB eyes, maybe someone can mod glass eyes to work with them, I think it's possible, but in that case I prefer to take off the mechanism and use glass/urethane or silicone eyes in the traditional way.

Yes! Absolutely! the default eyes are very very good, those acrylic eyes have a very nice deep look and are very beautiful, I have a few high quality acrylic eyes and I think the default eyes are the better looking acrylic eyes that I have. I have 2 more dolls from Dollsbe (Carrot and Paprika 28cm) and the eyes are very beautiful too. The first thing I do when I get a new doll is to change the eyes... but in this case I LOVE the default eyes and I do not plan to change them from now. Here's a pic

 

vevet Ahhh! Paprika! oAo I want one so bad >w< But their eyes are really nice. One of the reasons I'm not TOO worried about eyes. The ones Wyatt came with are just a little dark (but still beautiful) and sometimes I just enjoy eye shopping for random dolls so xDD

I've been meaning to come back to this thread. OTL But been busy busy busy.
Busy enough that I finally talked with YG and placed Wood on layaway last week >w<
I'm planning to pay him off completely in the beginning to December to keep it nice and short for him. And i'm beyond excited *A* It's taking everything in my power to not buy him several things already, but first is him then the spoiling.
I'll be getting him blank as I just couldn't decide on which faceup suited the intended character more.

I would love to own one (or both) of these guys someday~ I fell for Wood when he was first released, but I've never had such a big doll before, both height-wise and muscle-wise. I've loved you guys' pictures so much though; I hope someday I'll have my own to share.

And it's good that he'll be selling some of just the bodies. I think the idea of the body appeals to many people, even if they don't want the head(s) and while both Starr and Wood are gorgeous, the body itself is fantastic and there needs to be more big boys >w< (Those muscles. That height.)




Our Wood, Wyatt, is currently off at a friend's getting clothing. He's got pants (finally! xD The boxers they send are nice, but the joints eat them really badly lol) and she's working on making him a few other things too, she hopes
