Wow, Wood is gorgeous. I am not personally a fan of their body, but I can't wait for info on resin matches so I can see about getting his head.

 

He's so gorgeous and so well built up it makes me want to squeeze his muscles *O*

 

I hope there's a resin match for Ringdoll... I feel like he would look good on a Ringdoll body. owo

 

he's got such a pretty face! but he's too big for me X_x I wonder if he could be hybrided at all...

I only love sculpts that are impossible to clothe xD.... I hope the company makes clothing for him.

Hello everyone! I asked Be With You some questions because I was impatient -_-' and just wanted to know as soon as possible to plan my budget. YG, the designer of Wood, answered me very kindly! ^^

They will not offer layaway (I'm a bit disappointed in that but I understand that a new company might not always be able to offer layaway right at the start). Wood will be about USD650, this might not be the final price (body, head, certificate card, Structure Guide, doll cushion, box, eyes, and no face up). There's going to be options for glass eye, wigs, clothes, and sneakers. And if I understand correctly you can order "couple t-shirt" for you and Wood (that idea is sooo cuuuute! XD). Finally, they will sell clothes for him on the website (not sure if there's going to be a lot of choice when they will start selling, but YG told me that they will continue to make new clothes).

i found this guy on bjd collectasy a few nights back and wow he is amazing! i really love his sculpt and he looks just perfect to me. cant wait for the release of him!

 

The no layaway makes my soul hurt ;-;... I understand that it complicates things though... but I totally am into the matching shirt idea!!!! I'll just have to start shoving doll money in the piggy bank and do my own "layaway" with myself to save xD...

I like the price though it is pretty cheap considering!!! Don't tell BY that though I want it cheap so I can have my dolly! I will continue to stalk this thread!

 

Ooh new big boys -company Not just my type of head this time, too cute.. reminds me of Migidoll but the body looks good with it, not too huge and wide. Beautiful boy and interesting mechanisms. Anyway, I'd give a shorter not so muscular body for Wood, just as suggestion... Sad if they don't sell the head alone but that's a risk as they'd sell maybe heads better as they're more tempting and easy to get, and not so many bodies which would bring more money as they may have spent a lot of time sculpting it..

 

Ah! a new tall one! He is lovely. I really like that he has a softer look on such a tall body! I love IOS but am coming to the conclusion that most of them are too stylized to fit my characters. The body is too muscular, but not bulky, so clothes would cover it. Sad about no layaway. I'd have strongly considered him!

 

wow the amount of thought they had put into this guy is amazing. i love the joints and the eye mechanism. the trainners look great too! i am holding back until there is more of their items released - like the trainers so if i order i can order them in 1 go instead of bits.

I love the innovative spirit of this company. I also like the sculpting style a lot. Definitely keeping an eye on this company for later. If they made a slightly more boyish body, I think I would go for it. Clearly they put a lot of thought into the engineering as well as the sculpting, and I admire that.

 

What an expressive doll! I'd never thought of BJDs with eyes that could move... maybe a blinking doll would be the next step? I'm not sure that Wood is for me, but Be With You will definitely be with me on my radar.

I was reading the thread and... by the way... THEY DO LAYAWAY plan! just ask them

Maybe the web site is a bit confusing because is in Korean (they will change it very soon), but you may contact the seller, who is the artist/sculptor and he will answer fast, and he's is a wonderful person.

The price of the doll is $650, this is very amazing for a doll of 75 cm and with that quality and details.

 

Here's our big guy with some pukis (OT) to have an idea of the size of Wood.

 

Well I do not have any SID outfit, but I think it may be a bit short (tops) I'm not sure, but I tried a EID tank top and fits well:


The pants, well I know the company will have good outfits soon but right now I will have to make a cargo pants for him.
I have tried a iplehouse boots too and it fits, a lil bit tight but is OK.

Another fact is that the feet system is very flexible but I'm having extra care put this guy to sand up, feet slide a bit, but I'm sure I will get the trick to stand steady this handsome giant. I have another 70 cm+ dolls and I handle them with extra care too, they are heavy and tall. Is just a thing of get familiar with them.

I was at a recent doll meet and one of the people there had Wood. We had like 80 dolls at that meet but when Wood showed up it was like Cinderella had walked in the room. He is absolutely gorgeous in person and felt so solid. You could really see how well this doll was made and the attention to innovative details. I forget the sized clothes she had him in (he was wearing jeans & a sweater I think)…but the pants fit like a glove (don't think he could have sat in them). She did have to fiddle with him to get him to stand but he is gorgeous…I hope to see more from this company.

I noticed this company will be at a Doll fair in Taipei in February, I'm definitely going there so I can check out this guy in real life!

 

mdonline03: Another Wood?! it would be nice to see him! my Wood is 7 of 70 and that's why I call him Seven, I still working/looking for good outfits because EID tops works good but he have long legs so EID pants will not fit. Wood is very tall and I have a little problem to stand him too, and I'm extra careful with this giant, so I prefer to use a doll stand, last month one of my SD dolls (SuphiaDoll) fell and the beautiful original face up is now damaged, and I really do not want this happens to another of my dolls. Lets say that "big dolls comes with big responsibility". Thank you for comment

solarsenshi: Thank you ^_^ Oh I envy you! I would love to be there! and shake the hand of the artist who create this piece of art, would be a great honor. Later I will post a picture comparison with my Saint and my DOI who are 70cm, by the way, I think Wood is really 77cm.

 

Can I ask what kind of stand you use? I have Iplehouse EID's and am having trouble finding stands that are strong enough to hold their weight without toppling over stand and all. I love your guy too... the eye mechanism is amazing (should be standard on all dolls!) ^^

 

Lady Tiku: I think a Kaiser 4001 will do the work, have a 8" base. I recomend the doll to use shoes or feet will slip.

 

unfortunatly Kaiser's are to light weight (literally)... Iple dolls are to heavy for them. It's like trying to use a straw on thin cardboard... I though since your guy was bigger you might have found a more sturdy stand -_-... oh well ^^ thanks anyhow.

 

Lady Tiku: sure, no prob, if you find a good heavy stand, let me know or share it with the thread, will be a big help.

yuan_mdx: Oh thank you! I will keep posting pictures, I really want to finish all the details but that will take me sometime now. About the stand, those Dollmore was my first option because they are for tall dolls and looks good, the construction is the same as Kaiser, but Kaiser (4001) have a bigger base and that's makes it more steady. I think Lady Tiku is looking for a more heavy stand like CoolCat (those are very good stands for regular sizes BJDs) but I think is very hard to find because of the height. Thanks for the link, that's an option too.

I might have missed it but... do they have any of the clothing/shoes.... well any/all of the accessories? and I noticed a $30 jump in price too ^^. But that's what happens when you add someone in between maker and buyer. -_-

Yippee! a bald nude doll... and me with zilch for sewing skills lol... only these guys might fit toddler or the next size up range in kids clothing maybe? with minimal cost at a real tailors??? hmmm? yes... I want one lol those eyes! I want that ability!

 

AH I knew I'd seen those somewhere!... the only concern would be the bum & ***** cups? But at that price if bought on a GO might be okay to try. When I can I want to try the Loong Soul ones they have a split in the front and back (Vee'd) to 'accommodate stuff' ^^

I saw those stand too, I like them but I read that tend to break or something... (MintOnCard do not sell them because of that, that's what I saw in the website) maybe I want to try them or LongSoul...
The official site (AngelStudio) have this note about the stand:

Well I'm waiting for some shirts and coats I ordered (EID size) to try on him, I will post pictures to review that size, I'm almos sure EID tops will fit him very well but I'm sure that the jeans and pants don't, Wood is taller and a bit wider. Today I had a some time so I decide to make a black jeans to my good Seven, and I"m very happy with them, still finish the button and some little details.. Now I need a belt... (start to looking...)

aernath: Thank you I'm waiting for some tops I ordered from M3, I will post when they arrive to review the size. I like the pants, is just that I'm so lazy sometimes or need to be in the right mood to sew. When sewing for this guy I have to be accurate because I do not want to lost too much material if I do a wrong cut. XD (good fabrics are getting so expensive ).

I want to make some more pictures for a better review of this guy, I will do that soon. The chest, thighs and neck are very interesting.
