Atelier Momoni

Hopefully this is the correct place to ask: I recently received my KittyM (she is adorable!) but unfortunately, she suffered some minor damages in transit. I think I can fix some of the scuffs and marks on her body with a magic eraser. However, her face plate seems to have popped off and the scuffs here are obviously trickier. Just was wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation, and if so, how they repaired the face plate---or if it is possible to ask for a new one. I was very surprised because she had no bubble wrap etc in the box to cushion her, something I haven't seen with my other dolls :U Any thoughts/help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance~ ♥

 

That sounds really strange. Mine came wrapped like this. Are you sure no one else opened her on the way to you? Customs search, for example? (I don't know what country you live in, but some are stricter than others and open everything.)

The pitusa I ordered last year was pretty well packed when she arrived. You might get in touch with Lola and see what she recommends.

 

That's totally strange. All my dolls from Lola where packed pretty safe. Sounds like something went wrong...

 

@toveb I don't think anyone else opened her; there was a plastic bag carefully sealed and taped all the way around her box. Rather than bubble wrap, my girl had a piece of foam rubber-banded around her neck---I think perhaps it must have slid down her neck and this is what popped the plate off. Her feet and hands were likewise wrapped in foam (as shown in your photo).

@Roselea I guess I will do that. It's the first doll I've received with minor scuffs so I wasn't quite sure how to proceed.

@Seidenraupe I thought it was unusual since I have always heard nothing but praise regarding her orders. Guess I got unlucky this time!

Hi everyone! I wanted to know if anyone knows if Lola will launch new preorders, I would love to have a coton, I love this doll and I love her expression. I have not seen preorders of the littles momoni for a long time. Is someone else interested in them?

I am beside myself; KittyM has been on my wish list since I first made it. xD

I need to decide on a skin color now...

 

Are the skin colors as shown on the site accurate as to how dark they are in person? I'm torn between Lush and Sand, but is Sand really so yellow?

 

It's difficult to say, since monitors vary. But I would say the Java and Chocolate look both a little lighter and colder than the dolls I have in those colours. Maybe try to google for owner photos to get a better impression.

 

I have a lovely little Knita in java from the preorder, very much looking forward to her arrival!

I want to get a momonita in gamora skin so badly. I think it just looks so lovely and their size is so precious. I can't wait for another sale to open up for her.

Well after getting a Reira02 for my friend for Christmas, i'm kinda in love with Momonis. Eagerly awaiting a KittyM preorder, I want one in gamora!!

Someone on insta just offered me one in lush on a 6 month layaway so my momoni population is about to explode!
I'm excited for her because pink is so far out of my usual earthy preferences.

 

Yeah, Lola offers such lovely brown and tan shades.... it's really so nice to see such a color variety (and without any seams or marbling)!

 

Expecting my very first Atelier Momoni doll this week! It's a Somni in steel and I am so excited!

She's Lush, which turned out a lot more mellow and natural-looking than pictures tend to suggest (and I'm glad, I was worried it would look like a sunburn). It also suits the wig I got for her, so I'm really pleased. :3

 

I received my girl on Monday, and now I am posting her all over the place - sorry about that, but she's SO cute!

Hopefully this is the correct place to ask... ^^;; I was wondering if any other KittyM owners could recommend small wigs that work well with her little magnetic ears? I tried a Leekeworld 4-5in wig but it seemed just a smigden too big. I also had trouble keeping her ears on. If anyone has recommendations or advice I would appreciate it! Thank you~ (ꈍᴗꈍ)♥

 

I don't have a Kitty M myself, but I hear that the ear magnets hold well through Frappzilla wigs, but given their change in business model they can be hard to come by. I read others on insta that they make small holes in the wig caps where the magnets need to go through, to allow for the ears to stick better.

 

@Osquary Oh, I didn't think about making small holes in the wig---maybe I can try that. I was contemplating somehow attaching magnets inside the wig haha. I'd heard good things about Frapzilla's wigs too, and had looked into getting one a little while ago. Maybe someday if I'm lucky ;3 Thank you for your help, I appreciate it~ ^-^

 

I got my secondhand Toffee Somni today.
I originally wasn't wowed by photos of her sculpt, but she really is cuter in person!
I'm looking forward to figuring out what her faceup and hairstyle will be... even blank and bald she looks so sweet. :3

To pass time in social distancing, I'm now playing more dungeons and dragons than I have since about 2015... to take a break from planning the game I'm running, planning a character I'm playing, researching how to better do both, or illustrating either, I decided to make Essie some fantasy clothes! My next project will be to craft her a better wizard staff so I can get my knitting needle back.



I wish I had Somni, since a tiny elf would be just too perfect to adventure with her! Someday...

 

I realised I never got around to posting my new Knita!



I made her a kimono...her name is Apple.

 

I have been thinking long and hard about ordering a Somni next year (more financially prudent!) as a girlfriend for my Doll Zone Neveu. I already have a Momonita, so I decided to pose them together to see if the proportions would be cute and:



I think it's pretty stinkin' cute!!! I haven't chosen a resin tone yet - my Neveu is blue themed and my future Somni is purple themed - but I can't decide if I would snatch up the purple run of her if they did it again next year or if I would go for the Sand or Quartz??? I guess I should do a few mockup passes of the character I have in mind with different colors but!!!

Either way, I'm SUPER excited!

 

That looks so cute! I think the Merlot is so gorgeous, but somni is cute in all colors tbh.

 

Ugh, I know right? Every color is so wonderful, it's hard to resist the temptation to just get one of each (at least)!

 

I know what you mean about the colors! KittyM is the one I'm longing for, and might someday have two just because there are so many lovely colors!

I'm excited to see which colors she is offering for Ren in the coming pre-order. And if she'll offer him on both boy and girl bodies, since she showed him painted more feminine and with an Ariel style wig....

 

I bought a Momonita second hand, and I could not love her more! I am glad I got her, she will make waiting for my preorders more bearable. I wish I could add photos, but any time I try I get the red x

Thanks Her picture does not do her justice IMO. I bought the wig and eyes with her, and the wig is so soft and pretty, however it was very hot yesterday and I had fans going full blast which was making her hair fly all over lol. I like the super poofy look though, so I don't mind. I am looking at different wigs and eyes for her because I love changing dolls up, and because I can see what works and what doesn't for when my preorders arrive

I often find it difficult to get my girls photographed in a way that does them justice tbh. But your girl looks so amazing and I love her floofy hair! I change my dolls up a lot too, I love changing the wigs and eyes and clothes all the time.

I love the hair, it is so soft. I did order a wig from Monique to test out, as well as darker eyes for her. I love her current look, but I also like trying new looks too. She really needs some good clothing. I haven't been able to find too much online that I like. The poor girl has been sitting by my tv in a dress that fits her like a top I couldn't put her down yesterday, I snapped this pic of her in my hand, it is kind of blurry because trying to take a pic one handed makes my picture taking skills worse haha. I love the way they pose!!

 

Yeah I have had to sew some things for my Somni, as most clothes I find are too big on her body, but too short on the limbs. xD Not quite ideal.
Wigs and eyes can change the entire look and feel of a doll. Excited to see what you ordered for her - I hope you'll share pictures!

 

I really need to try sewing because finding what I want seems to be difficult, and although barbie things work I find the clothes to be so cheaply made lately. I miss the fashion avenue and fashion fever days
I will definitely share what I have coming, provided it fits! I bought the wig in a size 4 to see how the fit is. The specs say 4-5, but I was told 4 works too, so we will see

 

I think I need a new wig for my somni, I'm not loving the style as much as I thought I would and it covers up her facepaint, which sucks.

 

I am feeling that super hard. My momonita has a very fall hipster look which 1. Is not currently in style for Barbie clothes and 2. Just as you said, the available clothes are.... cheap. I was lucky to find a clothing lot which a year later FINALLY gave me a good start lol but yeah I've been trying to scout out sewing templates that work for her but the struggle is real. If you find any sewing templates you like, please lemme know!

 

Frapzilla has wigs going up all week...I have been stalking the site like a madwoman! I managed to get three of them yesterday, but I am waiting for a few specific styles and colors to pop up. They post around 2-3 wigs an hour. I am not sure if you like their wigs, but just figured I would put it out there!

 

I haven't sewed anything since I was a kid, and I am probably garbage at it, but I really should at least try and practice because I like certain styles and for the life of me I can't find anything even close to what I really want. If I find anything I will definitely let you know. I think I need to start saving for a sewing machine asap. I want to also learn to make my own wigs and shoes because I have other dolls and some nothing seems to work for, things are too big or too small and it is super frustrating!
