I keep changing my mind about the size. I literally thought Custard was a girl. All the girl's faces look kind of weird, in my opinion. So I'm going to go with Custard as a girl, if I get them. Where did you purchase your doll from?
Its been so quiet around here! Thought I'd drop a pic of all my AE kiddies - they posed for a Christmas card photo today. AE Family Christmas Photo by Andrea, on Flickr
I'm hoping that there are some fellow hobbyists out there who own, or have owned an Asleep Eidolon Milkshake. The one I ordered has finally shipped, and I'm trying to figure out if I can make any wearables for her before she arrives. My main questions are: 1) IS she around 27cm? AE lists her at around 43cm, but also have her as 1/6 scale. Also, everywhere else I've looked, to include here on DoA has her marked at the smaller size. (which is why I chose to post this in the tiny discussion) ^^" it would be nice to have another confirmation from an owner, though! 2) What is her head circumference? If I have to wait to make a wig/hat for her, I'll manage, but it'd be nice to have an idea... 3) What size eyes typically work for her? 4) If any of you have owner photos of her default face-up, I'd love to see them! I paid for the faceup, since I ordered her back before I had any experience, and so now I'm worried about having to wipe something I paid for... 5) Any other critiques/tips for this particular sculpt would also be appreciated!!!
Does anyone know what is going on...there's been an absence of the Asleep Eidolon and XagaDoll websites? Asleep Eidolon Deedlite by Stellar Phenomena, on Flickr
It seems this thread has been asleep for a couple of years! I only recently found out about Asleep Eidolon dolls but I'm really smitten by their current pre-order doll 'Cordelia' ! I'm so tempted to order the fullset, although I really went overboard with doll orders this year and it's weighing on my conscience... ^^" I wonder if anyone else had their eyes on her!
@Dayme: The 26cm dino's are adorable. I have been looking at the 21cm Cordelia. They are also regular and (full) sleeping.
Open eye: https://www.aedoll.com/product-page/cordelia-21cm Closed eye: https://www.aedoll.com/product-page/sleeping-cordelia-21cm I'm sure some retailers can order them, but I don't know that info.
@stellarphenomena oh I didn't realize Cordelia was the same doll being sold in the 21cm and 27cm sizes! She's quite a versatile sculpt. It's quite impressive how AE were able to create a mature tiny in the 21cm size. I love kiddie sculpts though, so I was immediately drawn to the 26cm ^^ I'm glad the pre-order is lasting a whole month, so I can debate with myself until mid-July to decide if I want her
@Dayme: Yes, there's also a 1/3 Cordelia, 1/4 human Cordelia, 1/4 Mermaid Cordelia, BB Cordelia (1/4 Big Baby), 1/6 (31cm) Mermaid Cordelia, and a 16cm Mermaid Cordelia!
Nyrea say hi and wants to know where all the cute AE tinies have gone I'm also interested if there are any more peppermint sculps around?
I picked up a 27cm Cordelia secondhand as my first slim 1/6. She's a lot slimmer than I expected and can wear Blythe clothes and Createable World clothes and shoes, so that expanded her wardrobe considerably. This is Chérie. Eyes are temp because they're too big but I don't have any smaller ones yet. And her little face is hard to photograph. >.<
Does anyone have the mature tiny 21cm body? if yes, how well does it pose? I'm thinking of getting a 21cm Freya to reshell the character currently used for my Banji girl who is quite pretty but doesn't pose very well...
So I plopped a 5-6" head on my Asleep Eidelon X-F-27 body and the end result is this big headed cutie.
Would anyone happen to have photos of the 21cm AE girls? SP faces specifically. I haven't been able to find any owner photos of them Debating whether it's worth it to spend the 200$ on SP Cordelia or just got for a 40$ Obitsu21 instead.
I have the 21cm Cordelia with open eyes and the 26cm Cordelia with the SP (1/2 open) eyes on the boy body. I will try to get a picture of them tomorrow.
Hi, I had a question about a tiny asleep eidolon doll I found. Recently, on legenddoll, you can get this adorable tiny doll when you purchase a MSD or SD doll. But I thought AE only had more "kid-looking" dolls in 1/12th scale. Has Asleep eidolon already sold dolls of this type ? Do you have one yourself ? (Unfortunately, I contacted legenddoll to know if the doll could be purchased separately but she is not)
@Lutopienne I think they are pretty new, meaning, just been released recently. But unfortunately already sold out from AE. Legend doll must have special agreement with AE, as some other limited dolls long sold out can still be purchased from Legend doll (eg. the mermaids). Apart from Freya/Freya SP, they also have Azuki/Azuki SP and also Clear from Xagadoll (i'm pretty sure they are all sold if you buy an msd/sd dolls too, so not sold separately) These are 3D printed, so might not be on topic for DoA, fyi. Perhaps better to discuss this on Brigadoon.
I found them by accident a few days ago! I immediately ordered the tiny Freya and just ordered Clear. Both through Legend and with a MSD owner. They will be off topic but they can be props with an on topic doll.
@marxwyn thank you for your answer, we'll have to wait and see of they are released alone then I wasn't aware they were not fit for this category, my bad, I thought they were classic BJDs @nancy_schroeder_ca can't wait to see your pictures then
Hello~! Does anyone have a 26cm Freya (the mature mini one) and could tell me what size of eyes fit her the best? Her description on LegendDoll says 7mm but I always take the description measurements with a grain of salt. I'd like to know the eye size, pupil size, and if the eyes are high dome or low dome, thanks (but any information is better than none!) I'm going to order her soon and I want to have at least a pair or two of eyes that fit her when she eventually gets home
I have the 26cm Freya. I will try to get her out and check what eyes they gave her. I find that low or no dome eyes are better for BJD's especially the small ones! Update! I took her picture. The irises measure 4mm and the eye openings are 7mm from corner to corner. it was very hard to get the whites of the eyes to show in the photo. I'm tempted to try 8mm/3mm eyes but it might make me want to change the eyes in all my AE little ones!
Thank you so much! I ordered my Freya on Sunday, and I know she won't be here for at least 4 months (the production estimate time was 5-6 months but I'm being optimistic) but I'm already hoarding preparing for her arrival. She sure is a convenient size to shop for!
I'm finding myself eyeing some of the AE mature tinies, especially Kiir. She is still available on legend doll. Does anyone have her? I would love to see owner pictures. And does anyone know what eye size she takes? I am guessing it's in the 6-8mm range, but at these small sizes it doesn't take much to mess up the fit. Iris size would also be valuable, if anyone knows anything. Any first hand information at all would be helpful at this stage.
Sorry about the double post, but I ordered not only Kiir, but also a male Cordelia. I am slightly breaking my own rules, because I've decided not to buy more then one doll at a time, but I couldn't help it. They are so pretty. Hopefully I won't be too overwhelmed with trying to figure them both out at once. At least they are small and not super expensive. Now begins the long wait. Legend Doll estimates 5-6 months.
Does someone have picture of the 1/12 tiny additional dolls by asleep eidolon ? (There was freya and lyne from what I remember). I’ve been searching for pictures and potentially one for sale for months but no one seems to have one so in case you own one and would be okay to show me the posing and potentially some comparison with other dolls of this size that would be very helpful for me. thank you in advance
I've got a shipping notice! This is way faster than I had expected. The tracking works and it looks like the package will be taken over by the Swedish postal system when it arrives. That is a good thing, since many of the independent shipping companies have been unreliable lately. So if nothing too unexpected happens, I should have my new dolls soon! Wish me luck. Edit to update: They cleared customs and should be here any day now! Why is it that the months of production time are bearable, but the final days of shipping always seem to take forever? Any spam to tide me over?
They are here! They arrived safely and was very well packed. Over all I am very happy with them, but I am a little surprised at how much smaller the Crodelia head looks compared to the Kiir. The chin, mouth and nose area is almost identical, but the Cordelia eyes are not just narrow, but also a several millimeters lower and closer together, making the entire face surface much smaller and the over all proportions of the head reading very differently. But hopefully the face-up can compensate somewhat. They have a rather sterile look to them in person, I suspect they are probably digitally sculpted and perhaps a bit rushed, the lower part of the face seems almost copy pasted with very little attempt at cutomization. But again, the face-up should be able to fix that. The joints are very snappy. They are not the worst I've seen, but right of the box pretty much all joints (except ankles and wrists, that are real ball joints) can only be positioned in their extremes. Arms straight down or straight out, elbows straight or 90 degree angle etc. Even the heads don't really fit the neck, there is gapping and they are very snappy and wants to turn to the side. The over all feel is that of an early prototype, not quite ready for production yet. I mean, they are undeniably pretty, but the point of a BJD is, well ball joints. I'll try the classic workarounds first, because I really don't feel like a mod project, but I don't rule it out. I want my dolls to function and be pleasant to handle. Any ideas from those of you who've had these bodies for a while? Any tried and true tricks beyond just sueding and thicker elastic? Don't get me wrong, I am very much nit picking here. Over all I am happy and considering the reasonably low prize and the relatively quick production, they are really not bad dolls. I am looking forward to figuring these two out. This is such a fun scale for playing around with. I have a Maskcat Joy that I hope they will look good next to. If so, perhaps she can also finally get a personality of her own after years of vague "just a pretty doll that is fun to make things for" limbo.
Nyrea made a friend in the garden Silly question, where could a person buy an asleep eidolon cutie? I got mine second hand back in 2011! and was thinking she might want a friend
For the mature tiny crowd, what size fits your dolls? I'm concerned the F-26 body won't fit OB24 clothes in the shoulders and I'm not 100% sure what would be the smartest option if I just go with the F-21 body wise... I'd also love to know what eyes fit Kiir, Galan, or Freya too. Thanks for your help
@Haven_Of_Dolls336 I can't help with what fits, since I make all my own doll clothes, but my Kiir wears 6mm Dollmore Oval flatback eyes and they fit her beautifully. I have Kiir on the F-26 body and Cordelia on the M-27 body. If you need any measurements or pictures I'd be happy to help.
I've bought my teeny tiny eyes from AshuraDarkEyes and love them. They also take requests in case their instock options aren't to your liking.
I ordered a yosd fairy Gloria secondhand on xianyu, I am really excited for her to get here! It seems LegendDoll carries the other little yosd fairies - Agnes and Freya - so I might see about ordering from them in the not-distant future firsthand. I haven't ordered from LegenedDoll before, though, so that will also be new.
