Cool, my Fairy Slamander arrived a few weeks back, just in time to enter the AE 13th anniversary contest. Sadly as I don't know anyone on Instagram I doubt my entry will get any likes as I don't have a big social circle I can ask to vote for mine but it's still fun to do

The fullsets are amazing, and, I really like the new bodies + they have that high heel leg without the ankle joint option

I placed a layaway for them as soon as they debuted, love everything about their fullsets and the dolls themselves. The price is really too good to pass up, 660 for fullset dolls that have everything included to be presented as the promotion shot? Too good!

The new Lena doll is also very beautiful, she looks like their younger rebellious sister

Has anyone else placed or is thinking of placing an order for them? The fullsets get discontinued if not sold out by december 8

Could anyone tell me if Asleep Eidolon white maybe matches Volks white? Thanks in advance!!

 

Can someone please post a side by side photo comparison of a 1/4 Asleep Eidolon and a Volks SDM? Really curious as to how the sizes of their heads and bodies are to each other.

 

How is the quality? I have a beautiful Freya on the way from Legenddoll, who was kind enough to swap to the 59cm body for me. I’m in love with Freya’s face that I had to buy her no matter what but I have no idea about the weight or feel of the resin, unfortunately I only have Volks and IOS to compare anything to. Is it a good weight?

I’m sad these beautiful dolls don’t get nearly enough attention. Their fantasy dolls drew me in! Who wouldn’t want a fairy or a mermaid? And the face sculpts of their girls have that rounded sweetness I find missing in a lot of companies. I like sculpts that are borderline anime. AE is perfect at this.

 

Asleep Eidolon's dolls are wonderful! I have a number of dolls in a variety of sizes and I am very pleased with all of them!

Their production of outfits can be extremely slow! They are nice when they arrive.

 

@Rive - Freya is beautiful! I have her, as well as other sculpts from AE and Xaga.

 

Another Freya! I wonder how many are out there? I ran into a Reddit user that shared photos of hers but it doesn’t seem like a popular sculpt.
Freya is my dream. I wanted an elf eared, rounder faced cute girl doll. I could’ve had ears modded on another doll but she was too perfect as-is. I will be happy to share my fae queen soon! The wait might kill me.

 

When you're trying to hold off on buying anymore dolls but you look at the announcements anyway and see Abyss from this company. Instant love. He's everything I love in a sculpt. Boyish but androgynous face, seductive expression, and his little tongue is sticking out. What an idol! I'm forcing myself to sit on this one for a week or so but I don't think my interest is going to fade on this guy lol bye bye money once again

 

I would like to get abyss but the outfit for yukimi is cuter :/

I saw Abyss as well and I think he's absolutely perfect. I'm trying to hold off a for a few days before I click that order button. I have a doll currently in shipping and another on layaway which I'll finish by next month but the temptation is so real.

 

Does anyone here have the 59cm girl body (AE F-59) and can tell me a bit about it? Also, how AE resin compares to Volks?

 

Does anyone have any tips on how to get these dolls to stand on their own? I find mine to be top heavy and I can't spread her legs - just swivel the thigh joints. I've tried with shoes, without shoes. I haven't tried a stand yet but I was hoping to get my doll to pose without a stand.

 

Abyss is gorgeous! I'm trying really hard to resist ordering him from Legend Doll since he's huge (compared to my existing dolls that is) but that tongue, the expression... I'm suffering so bad. Not to mention he was the first doll that really caught my attention after returning and I keep finding myself going back just to look at him. Only thing I don't care for too much is his body but I guess they wouldn't sell me just the head and outfit without the body. Not like I'd know what body to combine him with anyway though.... does anybody have suggestions for good skin color matches? I'd like a non-muscular more androgynous body for him.

 

So I was wondering...has anyone here plans to participate in their 14th anniversary competition? https://www.aedoll.com/post/character-design-competition I checked twitter and no-one has posted under their hashtag yet. I took time off work next week so I personally plan to give it a shot, even though I expect to lose if I'm honest .
I think I have two or three workable ideas, maybe I can come up with something decent. Not sure how to get my drawings onto the template though, I'll have to consult my brother.
I'm rally curious about others though, we have lots of artists here, right?

 

i recently purchased a AE doll and was wondering if anyone could tell me of any resin matches for AE white skin

 

@EagleVision1999 I am hoping to find time to participate, but I have been putting off the design and only trying to think of ideas still while I get other artwork out of the way. The one thing I am really concerned about is that AE does creative things or has cool fabrics that someone who is inexperienced with sewing and textiles such as myself wouldn't think of. I want to think about what textiles can be used in my design and what is possible in the real world, that way the design can actually be created.

 

@aestellica Yeah, real life materials are an important consideration. I have personally approached this by looking at movie costumes and historical stuff and researching what the ones that have the right look to them (material-wise; I'm not copying preexisting designs, I'm just looking at the way the fabric looks and is used) are made out of. I already have a concept that I think could work.

My fairy Freya arrived today! She didn’t come with her wings so I’m a little disappointed. I ordered her back in May so I honestly forgot I ordered her(I ordered a lot of dolls at once) and it took me by surprise! Unfortunately I don’t have anything for her to wear because her waist is thicker, but she’s here and she’s cute.

I really want fairy Sylph’s head, now. I don’t think AE would sell it though so here’s hoping I can find one secondhand.

EDIT- um, nevermind I found the evidence I needed on a dealer site.

 

I am delighted to report that I found a very well-loved and well-played-with girl on eb^y who turned out to be an AE Yara from the original releases in 2009-2010! I hope to restore her to her former glory. You can see the remnants of her factory faceup underneath what looks like some nailpolish or something. I'm hoping the nailpolish hasn't damaged the lips under the worst of it, but if so I can do some resculpting. Fitted with eyes and a wig, she's actually quite sweet under the wear'n'tear, and in very good shape.

 

Wow, I can't wait to see what you do with her. Thank you for rescuing her. I always feel for dolls who need TLC but I can't afford to collect them if they're not on my wish list. Wigs on the other hand... let's just say my home is becoming a shelter for abused wigs.

Lol, thanks but don't enable me! I restyle them or take them apart and make new ones. I'm too cheap to pay $40 for a wig, so it's nice to have materials if I need them.

 

To my delight, the nail polish didn't ruin the mouth underneath. I did have to sand stains from it off of the area around her eyes but her lips seem to be intact. Getting this girl back into her former glory.

I'd love to see what you do with wigs! That's finicky work.
I'll post progress pics here. She's getting a full body sanding, removal of stains, and a whole new faceup. I've got some eyes that look great on her.

 

Hello, does anyone have pictures of the AE 68cm boy body? Or is that body pretty new?

 

I'm stopping by the thread to ask the same thing. I have no experience with AE dolls, but the 68cm body seems to have the right measurements for a head from Another Secret i've been stumped by for years -- it needs a neck size of like 10/10.5 and 68cm+ height but I also don't like the bulgy straining muscles bodies, which limits my choices..... It be nice to hear how the AE 68 body is irl/how it poses, etc. Has anyone ordered or received one yet? is the volks normal resin a fairly good match with yellow-normals?

 

Anyone own a Col? I cannot be the only one that owns one. On IG there are a total of 6 photos and 2 of those are mine, I am thinking they don't make this beauty anymore or does she go by a different sculpt name now?

 

I don't know that sculpt name, but I do know that my favorite AE sculpt goes by at least two different names. Some places have her as Solstice and some have her by what I assume is her name in Chinese or something transliterated.

 

I'm very interested in ordering an Ivy on layaway, I keep coming back to her sales page. Though I can't really decide which make up I want, I love the eyebrows and lips on Ode, but the beauty marks on Floating Light are also super cute.

 

My preference is the Floating Light version. But I prefer lighter lips!

Beauty marks could easily be added! You might even ask AE if they would add them!

 

Played around a bit in photoshop and added the beauty marks to the Ode make up, don't think it meshes all that well, haha. Though I'm probably going with the Ode one if I do end up getting her, the eyebrows are great.

 

Does anyone know what the head measurement for the 2019 Lynn is? on AE's website it says 21.5, but legend doll's site says 23

just curious if anyone knows what SP stands for? I want to get an Azuki SP and I'm wondering if that's just to say its a different face than the normal Azuki sculpt

 

I think it's short for "special" in Azuki's case it does seem to be just slightly different expression between the two versions.

I sadly don't know, a lot of their dolls are only available for a limited time though so I'd hurry with placing the order just in case. That said, Legenddoll apparently has some sort of deal with them allowing them to order x amount of their dolls still after their release period is over so if they disappear from aedoll site and or other places you might still be able to get one through Legenddoll supposing they haven't reached their quota yet. That's where I ordered Cordelia 1/6 sp way after it's release period was over.
