Asleep Eidolon discussion

I own/selling/owned a SD Yara.

They are great posers and are actually very good quality dolls.
The make-up AE did was pretty too.

If you have any specific questions I can try to answer them ^~

 

I have an Asleep Eidolon Tong girl, she is msd size and I can say she is perfect.
So go for the AE SD, I think you will like her!

 

That is great to hear, because Naiara who works for Chantal's dolls alley claims that the default face-ups are of such poor quality that they can't be sold.
Do you have a close-up picture so I can see the face-up of your doll? ^_^

 

I owned a Col who arrived with default make up (I foolishly wiped it and did a rather bad one before taking photos) and it was quite nice. Light and natural and nicely done.

They are very lovely dolls, I haven't met the new body yet but the old body was very well made ^^

Is it hard to find clothes for the shorter, older body?

 

Yep it's an odd size so you have to mix and match ^^;

The torso is similar in size to Volks MSD, very small! But of course, the limbs are SD length.

Obitsu clothes have been the best fit in my experience, here's Col in Obitsu dress+shoes:


I've also found Luts Delf and Dollmore Eve clothes are quite good. Any clothes I had which fit Shinydolls well fit her at least ok.

I'm really regretting selling my girl now, I miss her teeny body, she was so light portable XD

 

Anyone have Mu? She looks like a real beauty...haven't seen very many pics of her, though.

 

i really love my AE Cherry she is so cute! the face-ups are awesome considering the price! my only problem is that the double jointed legs are really really REALY wobbly i have tightened her up and everything and she is still hard to stand up even with a doll stand. but despite that im still getting the blueberry sculpt! i cant wait!

Thanks for the info, babytarragon. I was wondering what clothes fit the AE A body.

 

The knees (on the older 55cm body) are indeed very wobbly and need hot glue sueding. I never bothered with my girl because once balanced she stood pretty well, better than many dolls with stiffer knees but it is an annoyance before you are used to the way they behave. Just find a hot glue gun and I'm sure she'd be fine ^^

 

are there any resin matches with other companies? i love pear, but i don't really like the bodies (i like a more mature body). does anyone know if the resin changes a lot in color between batches?

 

Have the older 55cm (Type A) bodies been discontinued? I'm considering a Col or Yara but I want a shorter girl. XD

So it looks like the Type A Body is not being phased out... at least for now. Yay!

 

I really love the short 55 cm A body and I'm looking for a head that will fit on it. All my current floating heads are too large as the neck is only 7 cm. o_O
The nails on the hands are a bit undetailed, but the hands themselves are large, which I like. It makes the body look more mature and less like a little girl. You have short adult women, so why not? ^_^ I find this body also curvier than the taller body.

I'm pretty new to Flickr and haven't figured everything out, so I'll give the link instead of posting the pictures here: Pictures of the 1/3 A body.

I put the body next to a (modded) Zaoll body to show that most of the length is in the legs. They are nice skinny legs, but I don't like how the knees look when they bend. The hands and feet are pretty simple and maybe it's just on the body I have, but the hands can't go up or down. They snap back in one and the same position.
Other than that, I like this body. It has cute curves and is small.

the type b body is just somewhat more stern i think it is called

i was looking around doa to find some information and came across this thread.
i am not sure who says naiara works for me but she doesn't, she works for herself and if people want to order a face up from her instead of ae then it is possible and i can ship the doll to her, that is all, she is not my employee.
dolls alley is my own shop, there is noone else helping me or doing anything with the dolls either.

the face ups of aedoll are indeed not of the best quality, if you check my group of asleep eidolon you can see a lot of pictures, the last one was my batch of cookie dolls where the face ups of most of them were really like a kid did them. 2 face ups were good though. the owner of one of them was really upset about the face up being so bad.

i really wish i would have seen this thread sooner so i could have explained all.

Yikes, that face-up is not very professional looking at all! I haven't seen AE paint a doll that way for over a year; I hope they haven't hired back some of their 'less talented' face-up artists. AE's face-ups have never been stellar, but fair for the price. However, if I receive any dolls looking like that in future shipments I will certainly speak with them about it.

this is how most of them look when i get them except for 2 cookies and 1 meijia, so that is why we have asked naiara if she would help with face ups.
and even though she is very busy with trying to build her own company she agreed to this.

Heh, tempting, but I've promised no more SDs until we are home (Australia) as they are too hard to transport, and it would be cheaper to get them from the US, if at all possible. China would be even better, but there doesn't seem to be a way to buy direct.

Hey guys, I have a Asleep Eidolon Mu that I bought from someone here who also has their own US doll business (I cannot for the life of me remember the name!). She came with this face up, but I'm not sure if it is the default. I thought it was a really nice face up.



I will also be ordering another 1/3 doll from Asleep Eidolon in the future. I hope to get a Dora head as well. The color of the "Normal Skin", on my Mu, is really nice in my opinion. It's smooth and not too yellow and not too pink. It also matched a Pixydoll head I was commissioning if that helps anyone.

I also want to know how the B type body is compared to the A type.

 

The mini Yara I had was default, and was beautiful.

 

I ordered the Jiao Jr and I believe she has the newest body. I don't quite know yet, as it was a little vague. From what I've seen, Asleep Eidolon has some beautiful dolls. It's surprising though that I don't see very many people with them. But Yara is a rather popular one. I actually plan to get a Yara doll next x3

 

does someone have AE King or another AE SD boy and could tell me a little about the doll?^^

King is really handsome. He's like a Luts El and Woosoo mixed together!

 

Does anyone have a King? I haven't really found much on him, and the pictures provided by AE don't really give me a good closeup of his face...

 

I'm also wondering if anyone has a King? My friend and I are both very interested in him, it would be great to see more pictures on him.

 

I think for a King, he's WAY too new. AE takes a good 3 months on orders, and King just came out a few weeks ago.


Are the AE 1/3 girls particularly hard to fit for? I'm rather enamored with Col, and though I don't know If I'll be getting her, I'm curious for sure about the body for a MNM head order I joined.

 

Can anyone confirm the foot size for the Type A slimmer body? On MoC it is listed as 6.5cm, but I would love for someone to do a quick measure and let me know if that's the correct size...

 

I just measured the foot size of my Type A girl and 6.5 cm is about right. I have no problems finding girl shoes for her.

 

Thank you, Muisje! I have a bunch of 6.5cm shoes that I bought for my MSDs... The shoes are huge on my girls, but when I get my AE body maybe they'll fit her...

Has anyone put any of the shoes on Mint On Card onto the Type A girls? I have some of these but it looks like they'll be just a touch too small... Muisje, where do you get your girl's shoes?

 

My AE girl shares shoes with my other SD sized girls and I get my shoes from a lot of places: Luts, Dollmore, Leekeworld, eBay, etc.

You have to make sure that the shoes are at least 6.5 cm on the inside. If they are 6.5 on the outside, they may not fit and 6.3 may be a close call. I think that if you ask Mint On Card if those shoes fit, they'll tell you. They are nice and will probably try to see if the shoes fit.

Are the Dollmore shoes not too big? The website lists most of the girl shoes as 7cm or bigger... but it also lists their Dollmore Eves' feet as 6.5cm, so I guess they should be right... Thanks for the idea of asking MoC about the fit! I didn't even think of that.

 

I just got this email from MoC. I dunno if anyone else caught it yet... I'm very sad about it, because there was another character I wanted this body for, but since I can't immediately afford it, it looks like I'll have to find a different body.

I'd kind of like to see the Type B body. I know it's taller than the Type A... someone earlier in this thread put up Flickr pictures of the Type A (Muisje? I think?) and those pictures are what convinced me to get that body, but I'd also like to get some information about the other (now only) 1/3 body. Anyone here have a Type B girl?

 

Very soon I'm going to order the Blueberry msd and I wonder if her head is indeed that small. wigsize 6/7? I want to buy a wig before she comes in, actually splurge on shoes and wigs before she comes in, but I want to be sure about the wigsize, because I see so many YoSD with the same size wig.

 

papilionette, my friend's Alice has a 6/7 wig and it fits nicely from what I can recall.

This is actually a thread for the 1/3 size Asleep Eidolon dolls, and Blueberry is a 1/4 size. Here is the AE mini thread... it's much bigger! Hopefully someone there can confirm for sure that Blueberry needs a 6/7 wig...?

I am VERY excited about the new Xun. I will be purchasing him as soon as I have any sort of money! He is drop-dead gorgeous. I haven't seen a sculpt so beautiful in years! Especially a male sculpt!

 

I feel the same way about Xun Lyansea, he is really wonderful.

 

Xun really pretty, his facial proportions are perfect. Is lewis a modified Xun version? He looks quite similar, but he's not as beauitful without the asian look. Evan looks just like a classic CP boy. Their all cute, but I only want Xun XD
