Jinster, my Solstice is from 2012 and she has the company's metal logo attached to the back of her head.

Aquarina, she's so cute!! Did you do the faceup yourself?

 

I am thinking about ordering their Alex head with make up but do they always do exactly the same make up on each head sold like others companies or will it varie from head to head ?

 

Of course there will be individual differences since they're all handpainted but the faceups are most likely similar to the company image... I don't think Asleep Eidolon attaches eyelashes for company faceups though.

Thank you ! Eyelashes are not a problem, i was mostly worried about the make up.
In fact, from experience, i know that some companies (like Crobidoll) never do twice the same make up AND it is not strictly the one on picture (with a friend we compared our Lance Cheshire Kitten and neither had the make up from the picture + their make up were quite different) while other (Elfdoll, Dollmore) do strictly the make up presented on all head (comparaison between two Bambu dreaming from Elfdoll and two Zaoll tan Pharaoh from Dollmore).

Odd, I have the AE cards and the like but nothing stamped on my girl's headcaps. Inside one has a section that looks like it has "AE" inscribed but other than that nothing. o.o Weird.

 

I haven't checked in here in a month or two. Everyone's dolls look so pretty! I still love the AE 1/3 girls so much. Sigh...someday...

 

I'd like to ask for some Xun and King spam -^^-
I'm currently considering both molds, but leaning more to Xun at the moment... But maybe a King could join him later...

I have an AE Aure, who is my Snow White character. She has dark green eyes right now but they aren't quite right for her and I want to get her new eyes. She's 1/4 size. Can anyone advise me on what size she might need please. I'm looking for some really realistic blue eyes. Any ideas for good companies to check too? Thanks so much!

I have 3 AE dolls. They are soooo cute!! The body type is changed recently. The boys are with a little muscle!!

 

I'm glad to see some activity in this thread (now watch it die after I post...)

I have two AE girls and a Sachiel head. One girl is a Kina. I think I am the only person on DoA with a Kina. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I were the only person outside China with a Kina. Even Googling "Asleep Eidolon Kina" turns up only the company promo photos...and pictures of my girl. If I'm wrong, I'd be delighted to see pictures of the other Kinas! My other girl is just as unique, in my opinion. She is a hybrid; what's more, she is a Spiritdoll hybrid. From what I can tell most collectors go to spiritdoll to use the bodies in their hybrids. My girl Heart has a Spiritdoll HEAD and an Asleep Eidolon BODY. To make her even more different, she has my Sachiel's body. Thus, she is technically on a boy body. I just sanded the penis off. She's gender-neutral now, though I think she's just as anatomically correct as my Kina. Poor Puss (the Kina) has cleavage between her legs, but it stops at the very obvious place!

I can't wait to get my Sachiel's Ringdoll body that my parents got me for Christmas (well, funded for Christmas - it won't be here until next year, likely). Then I'll have THREE Asleep Eidolon dolls to show off here!

Yea, I plan to put some on the rest of her body, and putting gills on her sides as well. She's a work in progress. I'm working slowly, but she'll get there XD I'm glad you can tell they were scales

Does anyone have instructions how to change the mermaid body with the human one? My friend got her doll in july and we haven't been able to find how to do anything. We only just found out how to put her tail fin on, and I feel horrible since it's her first doll. And worried because no instructions came with it.

I have a theory as to how to do it, but I don't want to mess up and ruin her doll.

Any help?

@jenniekay Unfortunately I have only one doll, but posing with the SD AE girl body is a little bit limited. I can't really tilt her head up too much, and the way the elbow joints are sculpted really limits the movement of the forearm. The extra thigh joint makes for really nice poses with the legs up though.

@AzureFantoccini What a cool looking guy. I like your props in the background too! Did you get tiny lights for your Christmas tree or is it part of the tree itself?

@autumn pirate Ahh she's so cute! When I was trying to pick a doll from Mint on Card it was between Mignon and Solstice... they look rather similar, don't they?

@peppercrushes: OH MY GOSH! Lenoire is so cute!!! and yes I agree that AE Mignon and Solstice looks very the same. I was actually supposed to get Solstice as my second doll because she's so cute, simple and pretty but her sweet face doesn't fit the character I have in mind. I still love AE dolls! I hope to buy another doll from them someday.

 

Anybody knows if the wait times are as horrible as mint on card says? They have 18 - 40 weeks as an estimated shipping. That's horrible! Or is there any other way to buy from them?

Azure Fantoccini: I love the Xun sculpt; it really resembles the Sachiel sculpt to my eye. Yours makes me want to redo my Sachiel to make him a little less pastel and a bit more dramatic.
autumn pirate: Mignon is such a lovely sculpt. I love how you've styled her. I wish I had a hat like that!
peppercrushes: Lenoire is beautiful. All the AE sculpts work so well as girls, even the boys! I think my Sachiel would make a delicious woman...

Here is my unique Kina, luxuriating in her haaaaaaaiiiiir. It's an Usagihime wig that I've had forever, but never let her wear. Now she won't let me take it off. Or wear clothes for that matter, but that's a different problem...

I was looking through this thread and wow your dolls all look very lovely

I'm planning on buying one and was wondering if the 1/3 boys wore 8-9 or 9-10 wigs?

 

According to the website measurements the 1/3 boys heads are about 24cm around, which is roughly 9.5 inches. I'd recommend 9-10 wigs for that head size.
Maybe someone with an actually AE 1/3 boy can elaborate on this?

 

I have an AE boy; while his noggin is large, 8/9 is the way to go.

It depends on wig's company.

for example:
LeekeWorld's wigs are quite big. So their 8-9 size is ideal for AE boys.
but Iplehouse's wigs is smaller and their 8-9 size is too small for AE boys.

I'm not the biggest fan of AE bodies so I'm planning to make a hybrid as well. If it's alright, can you post pics of your sachiel hybrid when the body arrives? Was it ns or ws? Really curious to see how the resin would match! I saw from another thread that AE and BF ns have a pretty close resin match. I'm considering that but I want to check out other options too.

 

kuze: I know that older AE dolls had serious poseability problems. My Kina is a terrible poser. But the newer bodies are a lot better. The body Fenir came on is actually pretty good. It's equally good as the Ringdoll body I just put him on.

As to the Ringdoll body, the neck is too small. I knew there would be some shenanigans with the measurements....but I get the feeling that the AE neck circumference is more than 9.5, and the ringdoll neck circumference is actually a little less than 9. I put a little eye putty under his head to keep it from wobbling, but I'll probably use some (OK, a LOT) of liquitex gloss to suede the joint later. The resin match is...I can't tell. Fenir has yellowed. I think they would have been a match a year ago. It's not good now...Still, I'm pleased with it overall.

These are my three AEs. Fenir is on the far left, Heart is in the middle, and Puss is on the far right. Fenir, of course, is a Sachiel on a Ringdoll body. Heart is a Spiritdoll Freesia on Fenir's old body. And Puss is a Kina.

You might want to check out DollZone's bodies too. I'm pretty sure they are a resin match for AE, and their bodies are excellent quality. The aesthetic would probably also be a better fit than Ringdoll.

 

hi- i am from Germany and there is a shop in the netherlands. I am looking for a new bjd and they got Asleep Eidolon Mignon. I like her- she is very sweet. I found some pics her of the new body. It was a post of Yara. Do you think its worth to order this doll? i wish to have one that poses well cause I love to do pics during holiday and traveling and I wonder if this doll could be a good choice.

Well, I have a Solstice, thought I'm not sure if her body is the new one, but she is a good poser Also Mignon is a really pretty one.
Personally I think AE are totally worth it. I have a Xun as well and I love them both.
If I were made out of money I'd probably even take the long production time they currently have, to get some more dolls from them.

Haha it's not even the posability I wasn't satisfied with. By far, I've only read positive reviews regarding their posability. It's really picky of me but I'm just not satisfied with its aesthetics..

Within just a year? I never knew they yellowed that quickly... Looks even though so I guess it's alright.

kuze: sorry, that was misleading. I've had Fenir since August 2012, but the yellowing has only been noticeable since a few months ago. That is, he wasn't like this a year ago!

Hello everyone ! Could anyone please tell me the ankle-girth of the SD girl-body ? I'm searching for heel feet for my Dollstown body which has incredible thick ankles (8 cm circumference !) Seeing pictures of the AE body it seems to have big ankles too...but it is hard to tell from pics, so any information/measurement would be so great...thank you for your help !!!

 

Hey there! I don't know if you've already ordered anything since it's already mid-March, but I've measured my girl's ankels and they're about 7.7cm.

Today I measured my girl's ankles again and yepp...they are 8cm circumference...but I suppose I will not find more matching heel feet than those by AE. So I will go for them ! Seems I have to be really patient since MOC is going to order AE items not earlier than on 16th of April Oh well...waiting is part of the hobby...as we all know, LOL !!!
