Arrival of Withdoll Egon!

I picked Egon up from the post office last night (which was quite an adventure in and of itself) and set him free as soon as I got home. I've never done a box opening before and the sun was almost down by the time I got back, so pardon the bad pictures/flash.



Obligatory cat with box picture. Luckily, she mostly left me alone after this. Don't mind the other box. I had quite a dolly day yesterday.



As you can see here, Egon's box was wedged into the shipping box with no room.





Yay Brown Tan Egon! I'm in love with this color. It's not the color I was expecting at all and I was so pleasantly surprised when I opened him. It's exactly the color I always imagined this character to be.



Ahh! He's so cute! Can you tell I'm happy with him? He's perfect. I adore his face and his ears are amazing.



Sittin' like a champ. He's a great poser right out of the box, but he's sooo squeaky! I'm a little concerned he's strung too tightly, but he's not kicky or anything. Just really, really squeaky.







Luckily, I have one outfit from another doll I recently bought and this wig which is actually perfect for my character, so that was lucky. I don't have any eyes that fit Egon so he's wearing his defaults for now.





He also came with a second pair of hands, a card/certificate of authenticity, and the eyes pictured.

I love him! I'm so happy I took a chance on him. He's currently waiting for me to get off the computer and give him a face up, so hopefully that goes smoothly and he'll be ready for more pictures soon.

@NekoNyanMew Thank you! I'm sorry you weren't able to get him. I wasn't planning on buying any brand new dolls when he went up for order, but since he was limited I knew I had to just go for it. I think it was those ears that made me do it. Haha.

 

@Loveleighlady Aw, that sucks. My biggest fear with limited doll stuff is messing up on the time zones and missing out. I ordered him at the beginning of December, paid in full by the end, and then he shipped on 2/29. Someone else ordered the exact same doll on November 1st though and we got our shipping notices on the same day, so she had to wait a month longer.

@Sighthoundlady, he is the tan UV resin. I adore the color. It's very rich and has a neat slightly transparent quality thanks to it being UV resin. Taren is a great sculpt! I bet he'd look amazing in tan. I hope they eventually add tan as a regular option for all of their dolls.

I wasn't going to bump this thread just to post this, but since I'm replying I might as well. I gave him a faceup and got some cheap eyes in the style that I would like eventually to test him out as my OC, so here's a picture of him mostly put together. I'm not entirely sure he's a perfect fit for the character, but I'm still glad I took a chance on him.

 

Do they match?? I'm so glad! Haha. The eyebrows were way redder before, but I went back over the faceup a few days ago and enhanced some parts of it. I agree I love matching eyebrows and hair...especially when it's fantasy colors.
