Are your dolls in a rock band?! Do they play a musical instrument?

I have a few rockers, but they've yet to organize.

Are you kidding? That was my initial reason for getting into BJDs, so I could have Nittle Grasper! Next is Noriko, her body's on layaway. I suppose Yuki could count too, since he...well, you'd have to watch Gravitation: Lyrics of Love to find out since I don't want to give out any spoilers. After I finish paying off Noriko body and get Yuki his body, next will be Bad Luck!

In the meantime, here is a pic of Tohma (the blond) and Ryuichi (the green-hair) watching the sun set. For those that aren't fans of Gravitation (yet! ), Tohma's the first keyboardist and Ryuichi's the lead vocalist and driving force behind Nittle Grasper.

My Migidoll Miho, Riley, is a shy boy, but is the lead singer of his band. Once I get a body for my Cynical Ryu, he will be a guitarist in the band. My DS Saint plays a wide variety of instruments, such as the guitar, flute, violin and piano. Some of my other characters don't play any instruments and aren't in a band, but can sing very well.

 

Zoey, my band's drummer, got inked last night. I'll probably add some more to her arms but I just couldn't stand for her to be headless and naked for any longer lol

No doll bands here at the moment, but I am enjoying seeing the ones that reside with other DoA members. Great props, outfits and wigs.

 

I don't have dolls in a band, though my dolls tend to be artists of some sort. I've had an idea for a pop group for some time now, I just need characters for it (haha) then I can think about shelling them! But that's a project for a couple years from now. Haha!

EDIT: OH! I almost forgot. I will be shelling a character in a few months who enjoys creating chiptune music. When I have him, I'll edit this post with his deets.

 

I have 2 bands amongst my doll family. There is also a record label. Actually, my whole doll universe revolves around music. Applejazz, the main band, is made of 4 boys and they play indie rock. Genju Sorai is a visual kei band. They are a 5 man band but I only have 3 dolls. I used to have a girl band but they are now sold.

 

Here's an updated and clearer (from an actual camera) picture of Zoey. I made her some drum sticks and today I made her a "leather" studded wristband/arm warmer thing.

I found the perfect size amp today at Target of all places. It's a speaker too that plugs into your ipod/iphone or mp3 player. It has a bass, treble and volume dial. It sounds pretty good to considering where it came from. I'm sure you've all seen the "novelty" stuff Target puts out in the mens clothing section on Black Friday. Mostly a bunch of random crap lol. Well I was at a different Target than I usually go today and they had them all 50% off so for 10 bucks I got an awesome little Amp for Syd. Now she can actually "play" music too lol. It even hums like a real amp when it's on but no music is playing. So if any of you're guitar playing dolls are in need of an amp, I'd definitely recommend this one. I'll try to put up pictures once I find my elusive camera cable.

 

Ugh! After reading your post today I went on Target.com and found them for about $7 off the original twenty dollar price tag.

I bought two of them...:rolleyes:

I wasn't confident my local stores would have them & I wouldn't get a chance to shop until Wednesday so I just grabbed them up. They are going to be so cool!!

Oh, and someone posted on the FL Minifee thread that they picked up from Target mini laundry baskets!! Not sure where or what section to look for those, probably the jewelry dept. but they looked pretty cool w/the dolls.

Thanks for posting that info on the amps!

Oh! And does anyone know where to find an MSD sized microphone w/a stand? My singer could really use one :p Please & Thank You!

Np. Just trying to help out my fellow bjd enthusiast. I took a picture of the amp with Sydney last night. It could be a little bigger. Syd is about 72cm with her boots on so that might be part of it though.

One of my dolls has a guitar. I had the little guitar for a long time before i got into the hobby, mainly because at the time I was collection guitar stuff, but anyways, I found the little guitar at one of those gift shops you see around the beach lol, it use to say the name of the beach on it but I'm glad it was only a sticker that I could take off so it looks a bit more realistic now.
He only thinks he's a rock star! lol XD

 

Yes, I have lead singers, and a couple of guitar players. Different bands however.

Two of my boys used to be in a rock band a couple of years back. Rook was the lead singer and Faust the keyboard player. They were also the ones that wrote the songs for the band. Usually Rook wrote the music and Faust the lyrics but they could switch it around. The band was hugely popular and very successful but eventually broke up due to personality clashes and musical differences - you know how it goes. Anyway, Rook and Faust remained good friends and these days they write songs together that are recorded by others, which suits them both because Rook has his hands full raising his son and step son, and Faust is happy to be out of the public eye. Since both of them are quite wealthy thanks to the success of their former band, money well invested and the royalties that continue to roll on in, life is pretty sweet.

Kavarr - That picture is just adorable/hilarious/creative. What sculpt is the doll on the right? I'm pretty new so I'm still terrible at knowing >.< The way his hair is falling and his face looks is just perfect for this shot.

 

Ugh can't believe I forgot to update when I got my vocalist all finished. She's a Resinsoul Ling in normal skin. She's based off the vocalist Maria Brink from In This Moment. Her name is Maria and her faceup was done from a picture of the real person...but she's not her....well she is but she isnt...it's weird lol. I gave her tattoos based on where Maria has some but didn't (probably couldn't lol) copy her tattoos cause to me that'd be too personal. I did however copy the BELIEVE tattooed across her fingers cause I really liked the meaning behind it.

I have two bands planned for my dolls. In my first band, I only have one doll. Not sure if I'll ever expand on the rest of the members yet. At least, not until I finish my other one. The second band, I have everything planned out for. The lead singer is on layaway right now and won't be home until next month or so and I have the heads for both the drummer and the guitarist. All that's left is to find the bassist. And buy bodies for the others.

 

I can't believe I forgot about this thread! Noriko's home and now Nittle Grasper is complete! I just have to get her a faceup. Next is the concert outfits!

@Ravenlily, where did you find a widow-headstock Warlock big enough for an EID to be able to pick up? He's absolutely adorable.

Little Nava has a real gen-u-wine miniature Warlock, too... He's not in a band, and in fact most of what he plays sounds like "skree-skraw-skree-skraw". But he likes to skreeskraw along to Plague Widow (a grindcore trio out of Sacramento).







(Nava has been after me for that same set of Marshall stacks, to go with his Warlock... but I told him he has to wait another Christmas or two...)

JennyNemesis your little guy looks so cute rocking out! I love his horns up salute in that first pic. Ringdoll have these SD size guitars but they are not cheap http://www.ringdoll.com/goods.php?id=404. I just got cheaper ones off ebay.

You bet! My girl Pixie Valentine plays bass for a punk band Radio Trash with her friends Jack Strange and Johnny Trash! Neither of the guys are dolls yet. :P

The band has a twinkle in it's eye.
Two guitar players, Hunter and Song and a drum set that Song plays but he can't do two things at once so we are looking for a talented drummer among the group, perhaps Azure will play?

I've got a resin soul Dai who is meant to be the bassist of a visual kei band. She's one of my favourite dolls to mess around with and her face up was really fun. I want to get her a little bass guitar!
