Aquarius Doll 1/4 Doll Discussion part 2!

Forgot about this, but I made Nashira some new eyes!
The green glass ones I bought are nice, but very high-dome. Since I still had some 8mm D eye Y's, I painted them with a Precious Metal effect paint.
Now she'll at least have some pupils. lol (omg don't look at the split in her wig hairline. I need to fix that.)

Momo Nashira's new shoes are SOOOO adorable!! >3< I love them! I also really really like her new eyes...they look so pretty! They fit her eyewells really nicely too. Good job!!


I'm gonna be picking up Maya's new oufit from the post office after work today...so I'll take some pictures of her when I get home! I would have had it yesterday, but...signatures required for packages are dumb. I mean really - what percentage of people are gonna be able to stay home all day and wait for a teeny tiny envelope package?! >_<!!!

Well I managed to find a little time and put Frankies high heeled feet on her. Frankies feet were too wide for both shoe types but she fitted into the heeled sneakers well, she also stood like a rock, ( the weather was really over cast so the photos not great - sorry )

Ahhh thankies XXX The heels belong to my mnf Mirwen,she's not so great at sharing so I doubt Frankie will get to keep them. Boy this sculpt is so versatile though, she can switch from natural/mori type style to vamp in a heart beat and still look good ! I love love love Aqd legs - they are so beautiful !

Yea I love switching up Maya's style!! I found another Chloe on Flickr and she's sooo pretty...she looks totally different from Frankie and Maya!

Here she is in her new outfit! The shorts are just a tiny bit tight around her hips, but they still snap in the back and they stay on, so I'm happy! She can share clothes with my MNF whenever I happen to get one. XD

Hey, sorry just going to jump right in Im getting a second hand Ella Aquarius with stock face up. I was wondering if anyone had the same one all dressed up and wigged... I want to get some Ideas for my first doll ( first to arrive home at least bought second) and what kind of style she's going to take. Also what kind of possibility do these dolls have compared to other bjds? I'm getting really exited to have my first doll.

Marceline - Welcome I don't have an Ella either, but I can recommend you search Flickr for some photos, there's always something pretty to be found there ^^ As for posing - my Chloe is loose right now, but she can still pose pretty well! She's probably a better poser than my Iplehouse, and on par with my Souldoll? So decent, but not up to Fairyland standards. BUT the Aquarius girls don't have all the extra joints MNFs have so I don't expect them to pose as well as them

Animethemed Oooh I hope we'll get to see that picture of her!! I agree with you about the neck - it'd be nice to be able to use the bodies with other heads!!

I have a few things I've bought for MNF that don't fit Maya too well (just some stockings...no biggie) but I don't mind since I do still plan on getting that MNF Chloe at some point. XD

Did I already ask y'all about restringing? When I took Nashira apart, I noticed that her torso strings had "crossed over" each other in the pelvis piece. When I put her back together, I didn't do that and now her top thigh swivel pieces don't act like they used to. I think I'll try restringing her again, and replicating that style to see if it works. If it does, maybe I can make up a little tutorial about it in case anybody here needs a helping hand.

 

I just restrung Azami the usual way I string my dolls. They were crossed over when I took her apart though. Not had any problems since

 

I've restrung Maya a few times and kept them crossed...I think her body was being weird when I forgot to cross them the first time. Can't remember though. XD

My problem is that I can't tell if she's strung too tight or if she's too floppy. @_@ I think she's too floppy at this point...XD

 

thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I got my dolly this past week. i love her so much. i never thought i would love a doll like this. i still dont have a wig for her but someone sent me a sleeper outfit for her so shes not nude until i find some clothing that i can afford and that fit. any one have any clues if regular volks msd clothing fit? i want to get her some jeans but idk if regular or slim would be better... ill get some photos up once her wig gets here. i got her a 6-7 wig, do you think she might need a cap???

I'm not sure about jeans! I only have leggings and shorts for my girl...XD Maybe someone else has insight?!

As far as the wig goes, she shouldn't need a cap with a 6-7 wig, but it's possible! Some wigs fit a bit more loosely than others, unfortunately. @_@;

Please post some pictures of her once her wig has arrived! I'm sure I can say that we all are super excited for you!

 

Thank you. I'll have to either wait or take a risk with the jeans. I got Her a wig but it will be a while until I get it sadly. But it's a long no bangs black wig. Kinda like marcelines hair from adventures time.


I did do an unbixing post I have photos but she still is lacking a wig and clothing. I know you guys are wanting photos but man I think I want them more lol.

Today I got pictures of Azami, and as a whim put my minifees wig on her. It makes a massive difference and I've fallen more in love with her in a fringe style than with the side swept wig.
Why do dolls do that to me! If it wasn't bad enough that I have to find a wig for a different girl as well I'd not be so annoyed!

Animethemed- I ordered a long black Luts wig, do they stain? I hope not. And I've been working on making clothing but finding patterns I don't have to alter for size is really hard. I have a few Barbie patterns that I enlarged to try to fit her.... I did a go at it and found what needs to be fixed but we'll see. I really want to get her a hoodie and jeans but I am scared to buy them not knowing if they will fit her. Any suggestions?

 

Marceline have you consider jeggings instead of jeans as we know these will fit ? I'm pretty sure I've seen good ones on etsy. I think you would probably find a decent hoodie to fit her too.

 

Marceline, I have some handmade jeans that I made for my skinny mini (island doll, who is just a tiny bit bigger than my Mia (Azami)) I can see the fit if you want? I know I also have various sized clothes hanging around (both slim mini and "normal" 1/4 sized) that I can check with as well. If you were going to sew for yours (I missed her name/sculpt due to being missing in action for a while, sorry!), then try slim mini/minifee patterns on etsy, I'm sure there will be some, if not, in the crafting area there's a thread called "anyone can sew: Jeans" (or something along those lines)

Marceline, BAH! I have some of those jean leggings, but oddly enough NO photos on Nashira in them. XD I can take a pic of them on her this week, if you want to see how they look.
This is where I got the jean leggings from, and come to think of it I have a pair of white jeans with a blue dip dye on the ends from the same shop. I believe they fit the AQ body just fine, but I can take pics of both pants this week for you.

Question for those of you who have bought those American Model 22" shoes...where have you purchased them from? I'm bad at looking for things I'm not really familiar with and I'm not sure if there are better places to get them at than others.

Also...Maya is getting some new tattoo work done so she's currently in pieces in my craft room. LOL poor thing.

Both the dark jean leggings and the actual pants fit really well. The shorts do as well, and she can sit in all of them.

I also found these cool 1/4 pants and jean jacket on ebay today, and I might need them someday. pants jacket

Also, I just got this wig in a trade, and tried it on Nashira. Looks pretty cute! link

Here is a crappy blurry pic, but I got some trade items in, and she made Nashira a lightning bolt shirt from the clothing sets I designed. (OwO) She also included this super cute comic themed tote bag, that's lined with velvet.

 

so after having my doll for a little over a month, i named her Willow. i just like the name. but then this thing happened....




So ive been calling her by her proper name of late. Merida..... shes the ella doll i had been talking about the one that everyone doesnt have but me.... it seems lol

 

She's SOOO cute Marceline!!! I love the wig on her...it's definitely VERY Merida!!! So is that name really sticking well?

I just had to remove Maya's face up. LOL poor thing has had so many face ups since I got her...whew. I was playing with her and going to restring her when I noticed she had a bunch of marks on her face. I think she fell over on the table where I have her sit while I do face ups. XDXD Not sure when I'll be able to re-do it...maybe tomorrow if I have time. @_@;

 

Miyukisetsu: I think the name Merida is sticking really well with her, i told my mother about her and she keeps calling her merida too. lol... so you said you were restrining your doll?! i tried to tighten mine and i think its worse now.... how do you do yours? any tips? oh and what size string do you use? i want to get new string but have no idea where to start looking.

a question to everyone: Where do you find shoes for this doll? i now got two pairs of shoes that are two big and one that is to small. im having the hardest time with this and pants. aghsoghaoshgposhg anyone feel my pain?

I am probably gonna restring her this weekend with the extra elastic they sent with her. I think she's strung too tight right now, but I always have such a hard time being able to tell. XD

As far as shoes go - I found a cute pair that fits her (they're a little big looking depending on if she has socks or not) on Etsy. That's the only pair she currently has. I've heard that there are some other brands that fit well...like some of the American Model 22" shoes.

 

Guys I am seriously so annoyed with you all, I was set on what AQ doll I was going to save up for (Sia) and then I saw Miyu's Chloe and she is so freaking gorgeous I was like, okay I'll save up for both of them and then Ella is super cute. Now I'll be saving up for three dolls and I have no idea which one I would get first.
Thankfully it will be a while before I have any money so by then I'll flip some coins or something.

 

GET ELLA FIRST! so im not alone lol.
