BUHUBUHGUHGUBASGKH I just glossed Maya's face and for SOME REASON??????????????????????? it rubbed some of her lip color off...@_____@; Never ever ever had that happen before...

I'm just gonna go with it for now and take some pictures so that I can keep how it looks in mind...and redo it on Monday or something. butts. XD

 

Hey look thread 2~ Also I want to order my AQDoll girl soon but idk how to order from the site and all. Most of my dolls are second hand lol. Plus I still wonder what the paypall bill me later thing is.

I think I probably just didn't spray enough. XD I tend to not be as meticulous with my own doll as opposed to others I paint...hahaha

 

Well I'll definitely keep an eye out for you, in case I see anything you might like! It's like a scavenger hunt. >3< I do like that their eyes are smaller, but DANG I really want some pretty mako eyes for Maya...>_<! I'm sure it'll bother me once I have my MNF Chloe (the fact that they don't really go too well together) but I want her too much to not buy her cause of something like that. XD

I bet face ups are the hardest thing to wait for because I mean it's one thing to have the doll in your possession...but now you have to wait for her personality to show up in the face up @_@

 

If it helps, I have an MSD in 18mm eyes! (Or had.. The eyes were modded to a 10mm eye. ) my MNF Chloe takes 14mm. Eyes are a massive pain to buy though, you never know if they'll properly fit or be too big/too small, or even if they suit the style of the doll!

Also I'm trying not to obsessively look at the order status, as I know it won't change for ages...

Does anyone know if AQDoll marks the dolls down when shipping? Once upon a time (before customs blacklisted my address) I had 3 dolls slip through uncharged from customs - all MSDs from Iplehouse, marked at $40 and as a "gift". If AQDoll does this too, me and Kerantli might stand a change of not having our shipping time doubled!

I remember thinking it was cool that she was marked down when I got her...I just went to check the box and it looks like the writing has faded so I can't tell you what they marked her down as. D: Hopefully they mark them down enough for you guys to not have to wait too long!

 

I'm hoping they mark down, as yeah, trying to find the money for my half of customs (if they get caught) would be a pain, as saving up to go see Impish next month (we're also hoping they get here before the 18th of next month, so I can take both with me!)

Ella is back home!!!

I am utterly in love with her! I am still thinking of a name for her. Haha I got to admit I was a little taken aback when I first saw her. I thought the faceup will be heavier but this is okay! Maybe I will do some touch-up on her lips. The eye makeup is subtly different from default, love the wingtip!

I am happy that most of the things I got for her fitted! The 12mm eyes I got was too big though, I will be sticking to 10mm eyes.

I bought some from this seller on ebay, and while these are too big (16mm, but they are for another doll) I'd like to get some green ones in 8mm for Nashria.

Thanks! YES They have a ton of colors, even in 8mm. They are hollowback acrylics, but at least they are affordable. (I have to really watch what I spend right now)

Following on from the eye talk (those eyes are amazing!) I think I've found the perfect colour of eyes for my Chloe here! Unfortunately they're only 14mm or above. Does anyone know where I can find eyes that are very similar in colour but in 8mm?

I'm 8 days into my wait with Kerantli! I'm so excited!

The only other eyes on Leekeworld that I could find that were similar were these...BUT - you should check out this Etsy store! They'll make eyes in different sizes if you want. If you find a pair you like, I'm pretty sure you can request 8mm! I'm probably gonna order some eyes from them at some point. XD

Edit: OH MY BABY JESUS EVERYONE look at these beautiful eyeballs. They have them in 8mm. IM CRI. Need to get me a pair of these for Maya. >3<

The more recent pictures are of her with it cut. And the color is ginger brown, for reference! I believe the wig is technically supposed to be worn with the part in the middle, but I prefer to rotate it and have it on her as a side part. XD

 

Impish, that's a lovely eye color!
Hmm if you don't mind acrylics, these are available in 8mm from the same shop I ordered from:

x a sparkly light pink
x a light purple/pink with a metallic sheen
x a light purple with sparkles
x a darker pink
x a very light pink with sparkle

They are all similar to the pinkish color you picked.

Miyu - Oh wow that wig is LONG. Right now I'm trying to choose between Paris, Evelyn and Pretty Girl, perhaps even Ginger if I brushed out some of the curls - choices!! And I haven't even started on the colour D:
I love how your girl wears her Paris wig - you can't tell it's on at an angle :P

Impish Yea it's WAY longer than I thought it was gonna be. XD That's why I ended up trimming it. Here's a picture of it trimmed. I think it looks better shorter, personally. I will say that the Monique wigs are sooo pretty and fine. They're super duper soft! Make sure you whichever wig you decide on in 6.5 size!!

Miyu - It looks GOOD cut - you did an amazing job :O Can I ask if you have any tips or techniques to share? I also love your photography work, would you perhaps reveal some editing tips? My shots never look that pretty raw and I'm new to photoshop xD

My wig list has now changed (in the last 5 mins xD) Evelyn isn't available in 6-7 so that's out. I'm now toying with a cut and styled Paris, a styled (wavy/curly) Pretty Girl, a softened and straightened Ginger or a Cara. Help me! *sobbing*

 

Impish Aww thank you >3< I just cut a little bit at a time until it was where I wanted it. XD So basically just go little by little and you should be fine! And use super sharp scissors. XD

As for editing tips, I can whip up a little tutorial for you later when I get home! It's actually really simple, but I'm terrible at explaining things without a visual aide. I'll post it here later this evening!

I think I looked at Evelyn too and realized it wasn't available in the size I needed...bahaha but hmmm...Pretty girl is sooo nice, I was thinking of going with that one too. Ginger is pretty too, I owned one a loooooonnnnggg time ago for my very first doll and I loved it. AGH I dunno, it's so hard!! >_< I got her the wig because I wanted something in a more natural color depending on my mood for her and she spends equal time in her blue wig and her Paris wig. XD What color are you thinking of getting for her?

 

Did you use any hairdressing techniques (like cutting up into the hair) or just cut straight across? Sorry I'm asking so many questions T.T

I think I'm going to get her a Ginger wig and style and braid it myself. Was it easy to manage when you had it? It's a pretty similar style to my own hair - I can handle curly hair, but wigs are different :P
I haven't quite decided on a colour get. I know I want her blonde because she's from the Air Country in my novel - pale, elegant and excellent hunters from the skies. She's also a member of my High Council, so she has to look wise and elegant - almost like Thranduil and Elrond from LOTR xD

 

I did cut up a few times, but for the most part I just cut the way hairdressers usually cut...by holding the hair in-between my fingers and following the line my fingers made! Don't apologize, I'm happy to help!! Anything that makes things easier for others works for me. XD

I'm finishing up the tutorial now. I ended up just making a video because that's what I'm used to...it's kind of awkward so I apologize in advance. XD bahaha I used to do gaming videos on YT and I had a hard time reigning in the weirdness while I was making the tutorial. You'll see...x_x;

It was pretty easy to manage, it got really messy but back then there wasn't much as far as learning how to take care of wigs so I really just...had no idea what I was doing. XD

UGH I think blonde would look so gorgeous. Are you thinking like pale/platinum blonde? I bet that'd be so pretty!! I think her sculpt is perfect for the wise and elegant elvish look! I'm even more excited to see her home with you, now. XD UGH HOW LONG MUST WE WAIT?!
