I just wanted to let you know some informations about the girl body.

I'm planning to buy a Winter girl (tan ver). I was a little worried about the body.
As you can see it has no torso joint. I asked them and they answered:
They are planning to renew the girl body to make it more poseable in the near future, but not this year. Tan skin will be available again and the colour's tone won't change. That means i will be able to order an extra jointed torso part separately later.
By the way i really don't mind to buy the body even if it has no torso joint. It's so pretty!! i love her chest

I'm seriously considering ordering a doll with a friend during this event. I've been going back and forth between Winter and Fall boy. I'm leaning towards Fall boy, he has such a calm and mature look.

 

I love the Fall boy. Too bad he's only available for pre-order until Dec. 1st, there's no way I'll be able to raise doll funds in time. I can absolutely see April Story becoming popular. Does anyone know if their 20%-30% opening event is already reflected in their doll prices? Like if the price is $495, is that before or after the 20% off?

I'm considering getting a girl doll together with Akatsuki in this event, to use the body for one of my floating heads. April Story had, in a question, said that they're aiming to match Volks. But since they're so new I wrote to them yesterday and asked if it would be possible to request some resin match photos and this is what they answered:

Hi, everyone! Possibly considering one of these dolls. I'm wondering if anyone has one? I'm wondering about resin matches? (Luts normal specifically)

 

As far as I know, their match is more like Volks pureskin normal/white. I cannot tell more about normal since I have ordered an April Story body in white skin. However, you can check if Luts still matches Volks, depending on how old your head is.

 

Someone have pictures of the posability of the A SD senior boy body? I'm really interested in hybrid this body with other heads!

 

I've been eyeing these dollies for a while now ( such sweet or mature looking sculpts and a sales bonus! ) given that this is a relatively "new" company I figure there's not much news about them...but however I read on the site that the discounted items will no longer be produced after store renewal, anyone know if they are going to stop producing the lovely sculpts or were they referring to the sale?

 

My understanding of the notice was that they will no longer be producing the current sculpts, but it couldn't hurt to ask them on the Q&A board. ^^;

 

Although he is one huge doll for me, Ren just kept calling out to me, so I managed to save up and order him today.
I also like the Fall boy a lot, and it was hard to choose, but to me Ren looks like an older version of my DiM Jullis, so that settled it.
If they'd sold the heads separately too this time again, I think I'd have a harder time resisting both.

Hey! I received my Winter Girl tan ver. in janurary (i asked 3 months layaway)
She is the best quality i have ever seen from a doll company!!
I'm very critical but this company earned my heart. They are soooo sweet, helpful and honest!

I also have a Summer boy head In NS. I'm sure he is not matching with Luts because they have a little pink accent in their NS (and volks too).
This head is light creamy yellow. i don't like the yellow ns colors but this one is very pretty :3

Wow I just checked out your girl and she is gorgeous. I was on the fence about this company too. I also contacted them about something else and they were super sweet! After a long time I decided to pass but now that I see your girl and that tan colour...arghh..It's really swaying me. I may change my mind again because I do love the boy body.

One more thing what I don't sympathise with... this "Soomish" event. these dolls were all limited editions for a month. they told everyone they won't be sell again...
I really don't like this. if they are not sure about it then don't say it's limited and won't be sold again... say that "we maybe won't sell this doll again" or something else ^^"

 

I think it's very nice of them to offer their limited sculpts again before they renew their dolls. That way people have a chance to get ones this missed before they are well and truly gone. Your tan girl is gorgeous! I wish I had the funds to order a boy and girl in their lovely tan. :/

 

Does anyone by chance know if the NS would be a match for Volks NS? My floating heads (which are a close match to Volks resin) would really love some bodies. ^_^;

I'm actually very glad April Story offered all the limited dolls again because I never heard of them before and would have missed Su then ^^
I also like NoA and Winter Girl but... yeah, money *sighs*

 

So I've jumped in and snagged some of the guy bodies to accommodate a couple of my floating heads. Anyone else jump in? I can't wait for them to arrive so I can fiddle with them. :3

You could order bodies seperately before, but as of now I don't think you can order anything from them until they do their renewal.

 

I need layaway for my Su so it still takes a few months until she's paid off



@Stella Maris: April Story's renewing their site at the moment and will open it again on May 10. They're starting from zero I think because all molds they were selling until April 30 are limited and of course sold out by now That's why I took the chance and ordered Su.

 

I'll be excited to see what they have for the renewal and I'm sure they will have a renewal event...the bodies and molds were lovely...so hopefully we'll see more greatness from them.

 

I hope April Story English manager will stay in the company. Really the nicest person, the best to deal with. Despite being a new company, they did really a great job with order processing and customer care. Dolls have a great quality, and I am a bit sad about the renewal, since we won't see the same molds anymore. Tomorrow is the day, so I can't wait to see the changes they talked about.

I ordered a body for my Ordoll Eris from them. I have yet to see it in person, but my friend's Uranus looks great.

 

I also can't wait, I was hoping the renewal would have happened by now.
They are probably overwhelmed by the amount of orders to handle, I think
I won't buy more dolls from them (I think!), but the curiosity is killing me!

 

I'm really looking forward to see what they've been working on too, though I dread being tempted by yet another doll. Please let there be, woah no! don't let there be MSD sized boys amoung them

Today I received a very large and heavy box, and my heart began to race, hoping it might be Ren, who I ordered exactly one month ago today. But it turned out to be the yarn cones I'd ordered from the UK through Ebay. (If there are any knitters amoungst you, they have some amazing yarn here.)
At least I can start knitting for him, and I've got loads of new yarn to choose from!
Not that I was really expecting him yet, but I'm just so excited about seeing him and finding out how he poses, and if I'll be able to handle such a (for me) huge boy...

 

@ Wolfboy - oh I hate it when that happens...a knock at the door, running down the steps and then it turns out to be a handyman that needs garage access or something. But I'm with you in hoping there won't be anything tempting from them for a while. Can't wait to see your Ren and what you think of the bigger size. I've only just ordered my first MSD and sorta in your shoes on the other end...will I be able to handle something so small...the clothes are so tiny

True, but now there's that new announcement about shipping schedules ^^ (I mean, it is new, isn't it? That is the first time I noticed it!)
I'm very excited, but at the same time, knowing that my dolls will probably be the among last ones to be shipped (because of the difficulties related to tan skin) is a bit sad.
Well, I suppose I would have to wait anyway, since their production time is 45~60 days.
And now it also seems clear that their delay in releasing the new site is closely related to the amount of orders they are having to handle, even if they didn't state that literally ;D
So, I'm happy, but I believe the new site will only be up in June, by the looks of it!

 

I just paid my layaway off early. Now I just have to wait.

I like Julian a lot, but two of these big boys is going te be too much for me I think.

 

Ohhh...I like what I am seeing. It's like they matured the dolls up a bit. I like Julian too. I wonder about the body though. If it's the same or if they changed it, cause I did like that body. The price is really really good too!...I'll be watching.

 

Yeah, I liked it too, and it was actually the fist time I liked a more mature body sculpt.
Looking at the hands, at first I thought the body might be the same, but then I saw Julian is 65cm, while the earlier boys were 67cm. Luckily I'd saved some pictures of the body, as the pictures for both the girl and boy bodies have disappeared from the site.

And just now I've noticed they've put up 2 new 'coming up soon' links for the boy and girl body, so it seems they are new or have been changed. Looks like we'll find out the 27th, when they'll be released.
Also, the more I see of Juliet, the more I like her too...

 

Looks like the links for the new bodies are up. I wish I had grabbed comparison pics of the old body - I'm really wondering what's different. But for some reason I wanna say that the way the legs/hip and chest/torso joints are fitting together look a little different. Of course it could all be in my head too and I'm making it up.
The price for the body & the dolls are good. I'm super tempted cause I'll need a body soon but maybe they'll post more measurements.

 

Had just found the pictures too, and no, your completely correct, the bodies actually differ in quite a lot of ways! The new body is quite a lot less muscular. Luckily, I did manage to save pictures of the earlier body, and I'll try to post them, either just on Flickr for which I'll give a link, or on DoA as well so you guys can compare them too. (Might take me a day or 2 though at the moment.)
Too bad my Ren hasn't arrived yet, or I could post my own comparison pictures of the earlier body.

And now I'm in soooo much trouble, because not only the new pictures of Julian on the new body, but the body itself has made it totally impossible for me to say no to Julian! I actually like this new body even more than the earlier one.
Just need to figure out whether I'd prefer him in WS or NS.
And I like him so much, that I'm even tempted to get twins, one in each skin tone. But I think I'd need to find a bigger place to live in, so hopefully that will deter me.

 

I'm not much of a fan of the new Girl Body.
For what I see, they removed the upper thigh joints, made the breasts a lot bigger, and overall, the body also seems skinnier, but I'm not sure if that is just my impression...
I was hoping for a torso joint. The company hasn't discarded that possibility for what I understand, so, maybe in the future!
But, for now, I'm glad I bought the previous bodies when I had the chance.

 

Yeah, the girl body isn't for me either, though the torso joint isn't necessarily the problem for me. The size of the breasts is the real deal breaker, apart from a few other aspects like the accentuated slim waist.

The new boy body on the other hand is actually even double-jointed!
I've already managed to upload a comparison picture I made of the 2 boy bodies to my Flickr (but the 'improved' Flickr was driving me nuts so it took me a bit longer to figure out how to share it here - though still a lot less long than I thought it would take me before.)

1st ASD body (67cm) and 2nd ASD body (65cm) (pictures are both from April Story)

It's kind of difficult to tell from this picture of the new body, but if you look at the other pictures on the site, then it looks like the new body is a bit skinnier (has less muscles) all over.

Porcelania - I gotta admit I am kicking myself a little bit for not jumping on the last sale. I just didn't think I'd be needing any more dolls...famous last words.

I gotta say I'm conflicted about the new boy body vs. the old seeing the comparison pics. The female body is def a nix for me too - the breasts are just too big, and something about the proportions looks cobbled together. But since I mostly collect male BJD...Ugh, I'm so conflicted. On one hand I'd really like a slimmer, less muscular boy in the 65+ range with a waist joint but something about the change in the April Story chest joint is bugging me. It looks like they took the old one and just sanded it off/down. I'm totally looking forward to hearing owner feedback of the first body to see if they are even worth pursuing on the marketplace for seconds.

But I still love the look of Julian

 

I had the same impression about the earlier body maybe having been sanded down, and not just the chest, but the whole body. And that's fine with me, as I'd even thought I might do that with my Ren myself when he arrives. The muscled body for me didn't quite match up with how I saw him. Which is why I'd been very much in doubt back then whether to go for the Fall sculpt instead, which I liked better on that body.
So I'm just really happy with the new body, and it's also one of the reasons for being tempted to get 2 Julian's: I might switch one of the heads with Ren.
I'm sorry you're less sure about the new body. (Just replaced the picture in my previous post with a slightly larger and more in scale one to help compare the 2 bodies.)

Something else though: I noticed there is no final date until which the new (again limited) bodies can be ordered, so my guess is, that we'll see a few more heads come out before these bodies will be discontinued, just as before. Makes sense too, as it's a lot of work (sanding down or not) for offering them with just one head.
Which brings up a new problem though, if I do decide to get twin Julian's, there's just no way I can justify falling for a future new boy

Also: the ordering periods for Julian and Juliet have been extended, for both it's now from May 27th to June 17th!

Yes the huge boobs without the option for smaller ones were also the change that I disliked the most, I think...
The enormous space between her legs is also a bit odd, but I suppose it was a way of preserving her poseability .

I don't have male dolls but I think Julian is very charming ^^ His nose is super cute (Juliet's too xp).
And the new male body is also pretty nice! It's skinny but not too skinny (unlike the new girl body imho u.u).
Surely this shop will release many other great dolls in the future, so I hope you can get one you really love, Julian or other one not yet released!

When I first saw these dolls, I knew I had to buy them. I can't even explain what got over me xD I ended up buying two because I simply couldn't choose which one I wanted most (and it helped that their price was super awesome, of course), even though I usually spend months musing on wether or not I should buy something, when it's superfluous and more on the expensive side.
I can't even remember the last time this happened to me! It's pretty weird...
But I'm happy xD

 

Wolfboy & Porcelania I can't wait to see your dolls when they come in. I just really need to stay away from the website to keep me from adding a new doll!

By the way, I emailed April Story to see if they had any more details on the new measurements. They were super sweet and said they are still working on it but will post it soon. Already they are super responsive which is encouraging. I'll definitely be following them.

I'd get the new body if there was a way of knowing how well it would match Switch, which is why I'd pick it up. I mean he'll be clothed anyway. Plus I am a sucker for waist joints and added mobility in the thigh joints.

 

As far as I know, if you're planning to get one of these bodies for your Nyxdoll or Migidoll B type head, you should be fine. I bought the old girl body version for my Nyxdoll Eris, and I am totally happy with it!
Unfortunately, as mdonline03 said, I didn't feel the need to buy another one - which I regret at the moment. However, they came back again with really nice head sculpts, there is more resemblance with Ariadoll this time.
I like them both, but Juliet head looks slightly too big for that body, in my opinion. And I agree with Porcelania, it looks slimmer.
I hope they will release optional busts in more sizes, I don't mind mature chest but really, it would be nice to have a bit of choice.
I prefer the new Senior Boy version, instead. I was waiting for a less tall body, I would like to see a SD13 size in the future but it's a sort of improvement to me
If resin match is going to stay the same, I will definitely purchase again!

 

I don't like the new girl body, like you said it before the breasts are too big for this very skinny body and Juliet's head looks so giant on it! The legs are also pretty weird... So I'm really glad my Su still has the old body, I like this one better.

 

I'd rather have at least the choice of a less mature chest for the girl body, though I'd probably go for a Dollstown elf hybrid if I ever decide for an ASD girl in this size, I really wish they'd offer the heads seperately! Also because I'd like to have several heads to share bodies (saves a lot in space that way with this size for me).
For SD size boys, I prefer smaller still, more SD10 size bodies, though the sculpts of the 2 Senior boy bodies just won me over. Largely too because I liked the heads so much!
And yeah, I can see more of Aria (and Everpurple) in these sculpts too, but with an even more realistic look to them, which I really love.

On that note: have you guys seen the 2 new 29 cm KIDs they just put up yet (Delrae and Nari)? The heads are just so realistic and cute. Looks like my Julian and Ren are going to get at least one little brother (or sister). I don't think I can see either of their characters as a father yet.
I'm over the moon and at the same time despairing they are coming up with the faces I was hoping for all along. Guess I seriously need to start thinking about who of my bjd crew don't really fit in, to make room for these and maybe future ASD's!

 

I'm really happy that the new boy body is both pretty and 65cm. It has gone straight to my wishlist.
I was surprised by the price though, so I asked April Story if the price were part of an event, but it's the fixed price. Hopefully it'll match the new head I've bought.

 

Yeah, it's a really nice body and for such a great price too! In every picture, it looks like the back has some scoliosis, which I actually find rather endearing.
Which head are you considering getting the body for?

I'm having a hard time making up my mind in which skintone to get Julian, but I'm probably going to go with WS again. I love the colour my AriaDoll Valentine has become over time, so I'm hoping the ASD WS will be fairly similar. And it's easier give a lighter body some colour than the other way around.
As soon as I saw the 2 new Kids, I knew that even considering getting one Julian in each skintone was definitely out the window .
