I ordered the doll's body 19th Feb and still did not receive the body, does anybody experience this also?

@mmilena I made my order on February 5th and have still not received it. At the end of March, they said they would ship it during the first week of April but then didn't and didn't reply to my messages for weeks. Then they said they would ship it before the end of April but still no news ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (they haven't replied to my message for 2 weeks now)
I personally won't make a fuss about the delays because obviously the covid19 impacts on orders but their communication skills are SO BAD...i don't know what to think about this

I was wondering how the layaway with April Story works. Do you need to send them an email or is there an option when you are paying with Paypal? I've never done a layaway, and I'm not sure how this works when you order from a company directly.

 

I am so tempted by this latest event. I desperately want Anthony and Stella to shell some characters I have had floating around in my head for ages. But at the same time, I am pretty nervous about the idea of ordering from them given the issues. I may email them and ask about how things are going etc.
It would be amazing to get these two and finally shell their characters. One is the boyfriend/likely to be husband of my forever grail doll and I know she would adore having him home!

 

I made my order first week of February and I'm still waiting for my order to be shipped... for the last 2 months they keep saying it's ready and they will ship it, but then they don't ship it and stop replying for weeks...
Am I the only one?
They make me so wary -__-

 

Holy crap, they sell heads separately on their site now!! They're about $70 each, might have to pick up one or two. Although it actually looks like it's the only way to get their dolls atm, the bodies and full dolls look sold out.

 

Try messaging their DoA account? They just posted new products in the News section.

Our company has been temporarily closed for about 2 months due to the coronavirus problem in Korea. T-T (February to April)

This was a forced shutdown in accordance with government guidelines.

@Cdoll thank you for the update! I’m sorry to hear not everyone can be back to work yet. The coronavirus has not been kind.

I do have a question, I was told at the end of February via email that I would be sent a new bust for my doll (white skin Hannah) since she arrived to me with the wrong size, but I haven’t had any updates since. Can I still expect that will be sent to me?

I hope things get better for you quickly. I’m sure everyone is doing their best!

I ordered a Clover in the last week of April. Not sure what im going to do with her yet but ive always admired the junior girl body so I wanted to get one before it gets discontinued.

 

@Cdoll I'm glad to see you here! I've been emailing about obtaining parts for the old april story body (which was discontinued at the end of May, but the emails are from before then). I still haven't been told where to send money for the parts. Do you think you could look into this? Thank you!

Be patient. I have one package that didn't move for over two months but finally showed up in Beijing!

 

Well it took about two weeks for her to go from the US to Canada, so I’m hoping it’ll take about that to come back the other way. I’m just excited is all I’m also an habitual tracking stalker, I can’t help myself!

Popping in to ask for an opinion since CDoll just posted FloraMonkey bodies on discount. I'm not too sure how I feel about the waste sectional on the bodies. It looks weird.

Does anyone have these bodies or know of a review of them?

I have a 1/3 April Story male body with the 3-part torso. It definitely has its pros and cons.

Pros:
-allows a slightly larger variety of poses (relaxed and slouching poses are definitely easier)
-aesthetics (depending on your preferences)
-in my experience stability and stand-ability is still pretty good with the extra waist joint (i.e. he can still stand or sit without extra support)

Cons:
-the waist joint specifically was pretty clunky until I sueded it (after sueding it's actually 100x better and smoother)
-the elastic is cross-strung through the pelvic section which can make for wobbly legs and poses like cross-legged sitting difficult
-again, aesthetics (depending on your preferences)

Overall if you don't mind the look of the waist joint and relaxed/slouching poses are important to you, then I think it's great. That being said, if you're not too fond of the look of it or slouching poses aren't a big priority for you, then you'd probably be just as pleased with your doll without it. I do enjoy having it on my AS boy, but I've found that most of the poses I have him in don't even require that extra joint. So it really depends on your aesthetic preferences and the types of poses you intend to have them in. Hope this helps!

My Clover arrived safely today Her status is still 'payment complete' on the site, and I got no shipping notice. Really happy I was able to get the one piece torso body before it was discontinued !

April Story seems to be somewhat slow to answer questions. Not sure if thats just for now or typical for them.
They took around 10 days to answer my question about order status. Oddly enough, they actually updated my order page with the same information a few days earlier.

Hey guys, It's been a while since I have looked at dolls as i have had a lot of personal issues come up. In that time, it since april story has been revived(!!), which is a cause for great joy for me. However, I can see that some of the old issues still persist - lengthy delays as well as terrible communications. Lengthy delays can be put down to the current situation, however I was wondering how long did people have to wait? I would love to order a few things from them now that they are existing again, but I don't want to have to worry if dolls are disappearing into the void.

I had a good experience with AS. I recently ordered the FM 15 Girl body at the discounted price. Everything went really smoothly - I somehow didn't add my address correctly to my order but April story got in touch by email when they noticed and resolved it quickly. I believe the bodies were already cast so it arrived in just under a month

Mine took a month to be shipped which seems to be very fast for a BJD.
Communication was a bit slow for me but they may be really busy at the moment with all their recent sales.

Shipping itself was very slow. It took about 2 weeks for to leave Korea after being dropped off at the post office. Should be with Canadian customs but unfortunately it appears to be stuck in the post system Which is sorta ok because I won't be home for a week to receive it.

So yes April story experience overall was good. Shipping times are kinda out of whack due to Covid but I think it depends on where you are shipping from/to.

EDIT: Package was delivered July 24th but not able to get my package until this Saturday

EDIT 2: Finally have the package in my handssssss! Can't wait to open after work!

I also need to contact them because the head cap doesn't fit well for some reason...

[EDIT: They recommended I push harder on the head cap and it worked! Just needed slight pressure so I feel silly for not trying. Never had the cap fit so snugly I guess ]

 

Somehow I missed everything in June, and can't even find any pictures of these FM bodies I really would like to see what's up and coming??

They've promised me to ship my order this week, next week and tomorrow. Last promise was tomorrow. That was 19 days ago. After that I've heard nothing. I still have no tracking number or confirmation the package was actually sent.

 

I bought the FM body on August 19, and I have not received any notification about the shipping yet
And I asked them on their QnA board, and I have not received their reply either...

 

So sorry to hear that. I still haven’t heard anything from them and obviously haven’t gotten my package. I really hope they’re not trying to stand us up.

 

yes, it is understandable for long-waiting of the resin doll to get home, but I mean... if they announce the body are made in May 2020 and will be ready to ship after 5 days, then the promise must be made. In case of knowing the promise could not be made, they should have at least told us the delay news so we don't have to waiting without knowing a thing.c

I've been waiting for my FM girl body since June. I haven't heard from them since earlier August. -_-

 

The more I read, the more it sounds like the "new owner" is just the old owner pulling the same tricks.

 

I've seen them online too. So sadly it looks like they're just ignoring all the messages.

Oh, good grief. For a few months I thought that the company had truly switched hands to someone who cared, and was on its way toward becoming what it once was...but now it's just starting to sound like the old BS bait and vanish all over again. I do hope I'm wrong - they have some truly lovely sculpts.

For those of you who are waiting, I can only encourage you to count the months for a PayPal claim, and get in under the wire if necessary. Honestly, I just hope that I'm being jaded and that you get your lovely dolls as promised!
