April Story SD Boy & Girl Dolls - Part 2

To answer everyone's questions, because of the fire many molds were lost. They still have some. The new bodies on the site were created by someone else or a previous sculpter, they just bought the rights to the molds to cast and the sell the bodies made from them. The old senior bodies are larger (65cm) and the new ones are 60cm. I hope this helps!

Question!
I have a 16 girl body and know her foot size is 6.5cm (on the website), does anyone know any good heels for her feet?
Almost all the heels I have don't fit the darn heel feet and I don't really look forward to sanding down the feet -.-
any recommendations would be great!

 

Are her feet too big? Most SD dolls have 7.5 can feet?

 

Have you tried SD16 sized shoes?

 

I have tried SD16 heels but they're way too tight on her feet? I have another friend who have the same body and she sanded down her heel feet to fit the sd16 heels she have but it is still a bit tight.

 

Maybe Iplehouse shoes would work. I think they modified their feet so that EID, SID and YID all wear the same size.

 

do they? I'm not really a fan of iplehouse shoes and they rarely come out with cute one ;__;

I ordered a baby Lucy and she arrived very quickly, about five weeks!

 

I ordered from them in the end of May and it took exactly 10 days for them to ship to me. I don’t know if they’re still doing that; it does say on the website preparation is 10 days so I dunno?

They did put the wrong zip code on my package and it went to Pennsylvania but I was able to grab it when it came back.

 

Ah I saw that they will ship within 10days, so we have to disregard that too huh

Yeah, it seriously freaked me out and I went to three different post offices to figure out what happened. Luckily my package went back to the original office and I got there right as they opened so I could grab it before it went anywhere else.

Hey guys, I'm looking to order an April story with the Christmas event But can someone tell me: what's the difference between the Eternal Spring and the Spring Boy? Also, do they come with the factory faceups?

 

They look like different heads. You can see the eternal spring boy and girl on Senoir boy and girl pages. April Story doesn't offer faceups anymore.

I finished a wig for Emariel! I got the fiber for Christmas and my first Suri Alpaca wig. Now all he needs is a faceup.

Hi guys, I have a question - are the Classy doll bodies the same as April Story? Because I bought a Classy Doll 66 body a while back and with head, it was not 66cm. It was really small. I'm tempted to grab an AS body, but I'm afraid it'll be the same issue. I really need it to be 65-66cm, and I'm afraid of ordering anything from them now.

To Illustrate what my problem was, I have a MiroDoll 66 body, and the Classy doll was smaller. By a lot.

There are twp sizes of April Story bodies, Senior and Junior. The Senior is what you want.

 

I've got the Senior girl body, and with a hybrided 9-inch head on it, only measures to about 62-63 cm tall (with flat feet). I doubt the newer AS16 one is very different; so I don't think either the Senior or AS16 body would hit your needed 65-66cm.

Edit: whoops, I'm just thinking about the girl one, not the boy.

 

My old Senior is 66ish with a Granado head on it:


The hybrid brigade: Miro 66, IoS Class 70, AprilStory (old) Senior bodies. They're roughly the same height, if you look at their shoulders (and don't get fooled by Jaz's weird hair). But that's the old Senior, not the current one.

 

I understand that. But the Classy Doll body that AS used to sell looks exactly like their senior body, which is supposed to be 66cm tall. The Classy doll body was also supposed to be that tall and was much smaller when I got it. I need the body to be the size it's supposed to be but I'm worried it's just the Classy doll body now sold as their Senior body.

Yeah I guess if the new one is different I need those measurements. The old one doesn't look too bad! The body I had was so much smaller than it should have been. I couldn't even put a Migidoll head on it it looked so bobble-headed. I'm just worried whatever body AS is selling now is that body, and it will be way to little for the head I want it for....and to exist with my other taller guys...Maybe I'll just give up and keep looking for bodies elsewhere.....

Would anyone be able to tell me what the resin color is like of more recent dolls? I am looking to hybrid. I have an OLDER April Story girl body, and she is definitely on the Yellow end of the spectrum, but I have seen a couple recent pictures that make it look much pinker? (which would be PERFECT for my needs!)

 

I find them to still be on the more yellow-side. For some reason they appear pinkish in A LOT of photos!

 

I pulled out my Raven after over a year hiatus from bjds...



The wig I bought before he came home is too big so I'm considering making one. And I haven't named him yet. Thinking maybe Eli, but I'm not 100% sure about it yet.

 

Could anyone tell me how April Story WS compares to DZ?

Here's a couple of comparison pictures! It's hard to tell but April Story WS is slightly more yellow-toned whereas Dollzone WS is more white. Hope this helps!

I just ordered a Hannah - honestly I'd been hoping they'd do a head sale because I want her for a younger character and neither of the bodies would be suitable, but I have a floating head who could use the AS16 body so I went ahead. I placed my order then waited for an invoice. I didn't get one so I paid through PayPal with my order number. Still nothing. I'll email them on Monday to chase it up. But while reading through this thread I noticed a few people had had problems with their packages being sent to the wrong address. When I placed my order I noticed that my address that I had put in when I opened an account had British Columbia tacked to the end of it. I'm in the UK. British, yes, Columbian not so much! So I put in my correct address as the shipping address and added a note in the order comments. I am not at all expecting a ten day turnaround, although that would be nice, lol.

I was also comparing heads and wondering if Hannah and Emma looked similar enough that should they ever do a head event I could get a sleeping Emma and she would pass as Hannah. It's hard without a profile pic. I think their noses are slightly different. Obviously Hannah has an open mouth while Emma doesn't but at least she'd look like she wasn't snoring!

Anyway it would be interesting to see home photos of her, and I can't find it neither on flickr nor in instagram. Why this beauty is so unpopular Does somebody own her? Hi everyone, I'm wondering about AS bodies? The reviews I've seen are not terribly detailed, and one thing I keep thinking I see is that the back arches back. Is this just because the people shooting the videos are not adjusting the body properly, or do they have extreme swayback issues? Thanks for the info, I really appreciate knowing

Oh hello, @IngieBee, fancy seeing you here! Mm, I've heard the posing isn't great with the wanting to lean back and apparently the double joints take some pulling out. And I'm disappointed the girl doesn't have the funky thigh mobility joint the boy has. If I get my body before you have chance to order one I'll try to answer your questions

April Story have finally confirmed they received my payment so now the waiting period of mystery duration begins! Does anyone have an Emma or a Sleeping Emma? I've ordered Hannah who doesn't seem to have a sleeping version but I wondered if she might look similar enough to Emma for that head to pass as her. This all depends on them having a rare head sale and me having the funds at the time tho!

 

Congratulations, @rubydoll Yah, I think I will wait until I have a little more security financially I don't want to put my back against the wall And maybe the next event will be better as far as avoiding heads, LOL. Except that I really like Juliet and Emma and Hannah and............... ugh!

 

Yeah, I'm gonna have to be sensible for the next couple of months - which is going to be annoying as I'll have the April Story head floating because I want a smaller body for her. I did struggle to narrow down my April Story wishlist - Victoria, Adrienne, Mia, Ishyllia, Lily...I went for Hannah because she looked younger than my other SDs but wasn't as baby-faced as some of the other sculpts. And the open mouth is so adorable.

 

I don't think it's necessarily the back per se, I think a lot of it is the hips. There's nothing to catch the hips to make them stay where you put them. So the second the doll isn't completely balanced and BOOM. My guy either wants to fall forwards or backwards and ain't nothing keeping his dumb ass standing. I think a thick wire could do wonders, I just haven't gotten to Lowes yet to try.

 

Oh I didn't realise the guys had the same problem but I hadn't really paid much attention to the boy bodies. I usually try sueding first as I'm not a huge fan of wiring (just because if there's a way for me to stab myself with something I'll find it!). The girls are quite hippy and I've ordered the bigger bust so I can see her having some balance issues. May be time to invest in a stand.

She looks amazing. I saw your manicure pics on Flickr and while they reminded me of what an awful job I did of my own doll's nails (foolishly I thought it would be easy!) it was great to see what it should look like when done properly XD The tattoo is awesome and I love her top too ^^

Thank you! The top was a gift from a friend for another doll of mine (she moved the snaps in the back to be tighter), but I was pretty lucky that Susi (My 4S Betty) has the smallest bust and can fit the top like a glove!

I ordered April 1st, and just got my order today. I can't say anything about the Q&A, as I didn't post or ask about my order at all. xD;;

I have mailed them 3 times but there is no reply ( I use the email that they confirm my payment ) This is a first time I order from them, and I saw that they listed 10 working days processing... Too bad. May I ask your experience about their communication?
