Well, I meant to reply to this thread much earlier and I brainfarted. Oh well. @MrFjmg2003 Your dolly family is super cool! I love the almost purple skin of your tan Smartdoll, and I think you may be the first vinyl collection I've seen with more realistic than anime dolls! @VioletValkyrie Awwww! The Rabis are so cute! I do think there is something so endearing in the Hujoo anthros' little faces. There's a personality there that I find isn't always present in all other dolls until they are faceupped! @Roterwolkenvogel Wow! Your Gata is so cute! I really need to dye mine, as that black color looks so cool! (But first I need to find the missing pieces--I should have never left a doll unstrung for so long !) I love the constrast between the red and black!
So many beautiful dolls in this thread! Back when I first started getting interested in BJD's I was scared off by the combination of the price and stories about resin breaking when you drop it. Then I found out about the abs dolls and they were the perfect solution. I've had my Hujoo Rose for 3 years now and I love making clothes for her and taking pictures of her (even if she hates posing/holding her pose). I'll try to find some pictures to show you!
Thank you so much for your kind words. My Cocoa Smartdoll was the last one in that vinyl color. As soon as I order her she was sold out. Then Danny Choo created a different Cocoa vinyl color. I'm so glad I got her because I'm not a big fan of the new Cocoa color and I love the old one I need to update my picture because I finally decided to get a body for my Anhais Studio Cilene head. She is currently getting a face up. So now I have a new SD size doll made of resin. She has the resinsoul 58cm girl body. Also today I just order another Anhais Studio head Elara. If God permits she will also have the resinsoul 58cm girl body. So that's a new SD size girl Thank you so much. It will be AMAZING to see pictures of your Rose. I do agree with you. I used to have resin dolls. One of my dolls got a chip on the back and I didn't even know how that happend. I always took care of her. Also a couple of years ago I accidentally drop my Iplehouse FID boy and his upper arms and back broke off. I was lucky and Iplehouse sold me replacement parts. But since then I decided to focous on vinyl dolls and ABS because they are more resistant and lighter. But once again I'm getting into resin dolls. Well only because I really love the head sculpts I currently have and they didn't have them in vinyl or ABS plastic LOL Here another picture of my Aymea. She is ready to go to the office. Just because I don't share her enough LOL JK.
As promised, some pictures of my Hujoo Rose. Her name is Millie. This is Millie posing for valentines day Millie on holiday in Austria And Millie playing with some tiny notebooks. I bought the white dress in the last picture. The rest of her clothes are made by me. Sorry for the huge photos. Is there a way to resize them while posting?
She is so adorable. I love the last picture where she is writing in her journal. She looks so adorable with glasses Here is another picture of my Minerva. I love this kitty
hujoo is totally how i got into owning bjds, i was so sad they're technically off-topic! i did her faceup and everything myself.. i know its not professional quality or anything but im still really fond of it cause i was brave enough to do it ^^; i didn't have access to a lot of tools or special equipment that i do now.. so her edges are a little rough lol. her name is Rosie!
On hindsight I already knew this, but my Millie fits into some barbie clothes. Her butt is too big for the pants and skirts, and of course she doesn't have barbies impressive front, but t-shirts and loose dresses fit. The local toy store was having a sale so.... I think I'll have to go back for more She fits blythe clothes too, provided they are a bit loose. The only thing I'm having trouble with is finding shoes. Do any of you know where to get those or what keywords I should use when searching?
Fiffy is Home. For a while I been looking for a Hujoo Amie, but it is impossible to find one now that she is sold out. Since I got my Hujoo Azela I made up my mind to get the three 60cm ABS Hujoo girls. Io and Amie where sold out. But I got lucky and found a Hujoo Io for sale on Facebook. The head was broken, then a friend gave a Hujoo head that was dye, but I wasn't able to clean her. But I decided to ask somebody that was using Io body in other doll if she would be interested to sale her Hujoo Io head. She say yes and that's how I was able to get Hujoo Io, and Hujoo Azela. Amie was more of a challenge and I spend a lot of time looking for one but when I almost gave up I decided to create a WTB on instagram and I got lucky. Not I have my three 60cm abs plastic Hujoo girls. So with that long introduction here is Fiffy
Do any of you know wether Hujoo is in the habit of re-releasing dolls? The more I see of Minipin the more I like it, but it's sold out on the Hujoo site. Same for Freya and Phoebe. Ivy is in stock and making my piggy bank tremble in fear. I wonder: does she have human ears under the doggy ears?
I think Ivy has ears - you can see them on the full set page. Grey Phoebe is in stock on JunkySpot. Good luck with your search!
Thank you for letting me know about Ivy. She is lovely and does have ears. (I should have been able to figure that one out myself (^^')) Problem with junky spot is that I'm in europe. Shipping from Hujoo directly is half of the shipping I'd pay from the us. Since think pink closed down and angelesque has no hujoos in stock ordering directly from the company itself is my next best option. Of course if they don't restock I'll have to give in and order from junky spot, but I was kind of hoping to avoid the huuuuge shipping cost.
I see. Sorry about that. Sometmes mimiwoo has hujoos and they ship free worldwide. They are on ebay and have their own website. But unfortunately, lately they are all out of hujoos, too.
Does anyone happen to know how often places like junkyspot restock hujoos? I currently don't own any but I've wanted a Phoebe for a very long time since I love mice, and now that I have some disposable income for dolls... there's none on the site
You might want to write to junkyspot and ask them. Also, you can order directly from hujoo, or from mimiwoo, but most of the dolls are out of stock everywhere, sadly. They are so cute! I had ordered from all three sources and was happy with all my orders.
Good to know, thank you! I've looked at the hujoo and mimiwoo sites with no luck for any hujoos From what I remember, Phoebe was actually a Junkyspot exclusive? I'll definitely try writing them and hope for the best.
Phoebe is a mouse, right? I remember they were saying the cats were exclusive, but later they were sold at the other two places, too.
This may not be the right thread for it, but is Hujoo still in business? Left a message on their Q&A about a month ago with no reply, and the mail they address on their page does not seem to exist. Any way to contact them currently?
My first doll was a Hujoo! Junkyspot was having a sale so I decided to an MSD. I watched a couple of Asenva's reviews to see which one I liked best and picked my Hujoo Sara. She's currently the body for my Minifee event head until I can get a new body for her. I think they're fantastic dolls and a great way to start in this hobby.
May try facebook Bjdshop Hujoo? They might not be able to answer if you write in English to them? I do not know.
I worry about this too! Almost everything on their website is out of stock and their dealers aren't restocking either. Their facebook hasn't been updated in more that a year...
I hope they will continue. They did get a new doll in the last year, didn't they? Aion. She is adorable. But I wish they resurrected the old ones, too. I wish they made more of Little Rose dolls and maybe a sister or two for her? I have their Neve doll, she is a cutie, too, even though she does not have many joints for posing. It is in stock. As well as Aion, Ivy, Iris, Berry and Hujoo and Jake. And the big guy, too. Apparently, I ordered twice from them, in 2016, with no problems.
I tried that as per your suggestion, but so far no reply. No idea where else to try, I just hope they'll resurface soon.
My suggestion would be for everyone of us to buy a doll from their website to perk up their business, maybe then they return, lol.
I have an 11cm Hujoo Rabi in pink skin (limited edition??). She is in a punk rocker outfit right now and has red anime style eyes
^To add images just paste the image's URL/address on the text box that pops up when you click on the "image" icon. You can't upload images directly from your hard-drive, you have to have an image host, upload your images there then use their URL of your images to post them on there. I hope that isn't confusing. (: I have an eight-year-old white sleepy Hujoo Wings. I recently made a wig for him (the first one I make for him, actually!). I am planning on repainting him soon, so I wanted to make him a new wig first. His elastic is all loose now. I am not sure if simply restringing him will help, but I don't suppose anyone knows where to get elastic that is the right size for this guy? I own six resin BJD, the oldest is 13-years-old, but I have never replace elastic on any of them -- although I have a few that I should, I am a bit hesitant about purchasing anything online when it comes to inexpensive items such as elastic. Mainly because shipping tends to be at least twice as much, and I don't have that many BJD-related stuff I want to (or can) get right now, to justify shipping twice as much as the elastic (I'm very stingy when it comes to shipping).
@Enzyme the elastics used in most BJD's are just normal elastics (this stuff) you can buy at any store that sells sewing or crafting supplies. They come in a few thicknesses so you'll have to open up your boy and measure the elastics in a place where they aren't under a lot of tension (the ends sticking out from the knots would be best). Most stores will have 0,5 1 2 and 3 mm in stock, if you need thicker you might need to look online.
Thank you so much for explaining how to get proper elastic Enitnerolf! I have looked in my local crafting supply stores, but I've never seen elastic like any my BJD have. I have restrung them over the years a number of times, because I enjoy body blushing most of them. However, I have never replaced their elastic, so I never really looked into where else to find any, other than the obvious online retailers of BJD stuff. Although, I read somewhere that fabric stores some times have some, and I have looked for it there, I also have read that it's not like he elastic intended for BJD. I was hoping to get to touch some at least, to see if it was the same stuff. Unfortunately, living in the middle of nowhere makes it a pain in the gut to find anything locally. I guess I'll just have to get it online, even if I have to pay twice as much for shipping. Thanks again! (:
@Enzyme I’ve taken a look at my Millie (hujoo rose) and my sewing supplies. I’m pretty sure it’s the same elastic. In Dutch it’s called ‘rond elastiek’ (round elastic?). It has an elastic core and a woven layer around it. I own it in 3 and 1 mm thick, but my guess is Millie is strung with 2 mm. Millie showing off her elastics by Florentine Noneofyourbuisness, on Flickr I’ve only ever taken her apart once and that was because one of the elastics slipped from the bars in her head. Her leg pieces scattered everywhere and I was terrified I had broken her. It was horrible, I’m not doing that again if I can avoid it
Enitnerolf, I see! Thank you for confirming it is the same. I live in the middle of nowhere, kind of small-touristy towns everywhere in between where I live, and all surrounding areas. Most of my "local" fabric stores barely have any useful fabrics for doll sewing; like small patterns or even small scale lace, are none existent here. I've never seen elastic like the type most of my BJD have (most of mine are much larger than my Wings up there), so even if it is the same as the ones found in fabric stores, I sadly can't find it locally, so I'll have to order it online. DX I love living in a small town, because it is so quite and uneventful, but stores around here suck! Lol! Thanks again, for going through the travel to explain things to me and even for the photo -- it's very useful indeed! I'm not a BJD newbie by far, but anyone would certainly think otherwise (I don't play with my dolls much, so their elastics have last quite a bit). (:
I do love the sleepy eye Hujoos, :-) The elastic stringing...Alicescollections may have some. Reborn doll supply stores, and ebay may have the mm size you need.
Same for me. I have to shop online for doll supplies, accessories, and the doll themselves. Rarely find anything in Australia.
Thank you -- I think they only ship via registered mail (they are in China, I'm in the USA), so they are a bit expensive (for elastic) even if not EMS expensive! I always wanted an original Hujoo girl even before the JunkySpot started carrying them. I asked them about them once, and then they started stocking them soon afterward, but for some reason I never got the Hujoo girl. I kind of stopped purchasing female articulated dolls by now, however, I really regret not getting the opened eyed Wings while I had the chance. I kept bugging Hujoo quite a few years ago about them re-stocking him, but they just kept saying "we are planning/working/fixing...him" but they never restocked him. I think Wings are pretty much a discontinued sculpt now. Oh well, another doll I can't get now because they didn't sell well. DX
Yes!! They were my first dolls as I got into BJDs. I have two wings and a Berry. The first Wings I got from JunkySpot, the second with a custom faceup from Ebay, and the Berry I got straight from the company website. I'll have to find my old pictures or take some new ones. I also bought my best friend a blank Wings from the company site for her birthday when we were teens! We got into BJD together and she didn't have one yet She nearly lost her mind when I gave it to her after school in the library.
@MrFjmg2003 omg you have some hujoo girls too I thought I was like the only person still in the hobby with a hujoo Aimee! What eyes are you useing in Fiffy? They look so great!
I would love to see pictures of your girl I haven't seen many big Hujoo girls. I have seen a few on IG. The only one I bought brand new was my Hujoo Azela, Hujoo Io I got her body second hand from Facebook and her head from IG and Hujoo Amiee I got her second hand from IG. She came with the eyes so I have no idea where the eyes are from. Sorry I cannot help. But her eye sockets are modded to fit the eyes. I really wanted to own the three Hujoo girls but when I discover them Amiee and Io were already sold out. The only one available was Azela on junkyspot. It was a hard job finding the other two to complete my collection
Here's an old picture of my two Hujoo Berries on their way to a doll meet, a few years ago. I really miss doll meets.
My Hujoo Baby Suve- Flora is my project doll I needa make her a wig and a better dress! I have had her for 10 years!! (And almost melted her face with acetone as a kid :P)
