Lucia looks really fab on the old Starwoman body I think. The neck is 9cm on both so it works well there too.

Here is Ivan on a 68cm Mirodoll body. Ideally I'd like to see just the tiniest bit more bulk on the body for the head, but clothed this would look great.



Checked his height- he stands at 67/68 cm, so he may be on the 65cm body. I'll check another Miro body that I KNOW is 68cm later. Maybe the legs I put on for height are not the ones I thought they were.

 

@angelie23 I'll try to remember where I saw some. Maybe they were Chalyss's photos.

 

Lol! Ivan head on a Granado body? I can do the defunct 64cm body and soon an Evol body if that is of interest.

I have 2 Ivan heads I don't know what to do with, so probably twins on Miro bodies. Lol. I have a feeling that pic was the 65cm body instead.

 

So my first order with Angels doll just came in. I order the ASD60 body and it's stunning. But I don't like the ankles to much... do you know how on earth to make them possible?

 

That body should be renewed then- he did a lot of work on the joints. Can you post a pic? I'd like to see if the ankles have changed from the first gen.

They really dont, I love the body so much... but the ankles are annoying. She can stand like a champ, though... just not in even smallest heel. I'm trying to think of a way to make then work.

The main issue I've noticed with the ankles (besides no possibility) is that the hook keeps getting stuck in on the little lip on the ankle. So eventually I can see the ankle being damanged. So I'll have to mod eventually.

 

The only thing I could think of would be to sand off both lips and install a ball in between. Glad to hear you like the rest of the body though! Have you taken more photos?

 

yeah that's weird. He spent months renewing the body with better jointing and he'll spend months doing it to the boy body now. I need to check my 60cm female body's ankles now.

I recently sent my beautiful Torsten (Baku) off for a faceup, and he arrived safely home again today! I absolutely adore how he looks.



(Clearly, his love missed him very much. So clingy. *snort*)

So... yes. Just wanted to share. I don't see Baku around the forums much, these days. He's such a beautiful sculpt!

 

Oh he's gorgeous! Congrats!! I just traded a Baku head- but it had been modded a bit and I really wanted a pristine one. Also, I am getting in a Michael! So excited!

OH I still need to get pics of those ankles, sorry! Maybe write them and tell them about the problems? They're accommodating and maybe he didn't notice.

Aww, I feel you, he really is a beautiful sculpt. I've had him for years (purchased directly in 2012, I believe?), and I certainly can't see myself ever parting with him. Oh, definitely, Angelsdoll had some incredibly lovely male sculpts, in the past. Ivan, Kloze, Cian, etc. I'm unsure as to what actually happened with the company; did they disappear for a while, and then come back? I vaguely remember something happening, along those lines.

 

When they first went out of business, I panicked- I wanted a Sarah head SO BAD. I contacted them via email and I asked what happened. (I never did get the Sarah head although they told me I could... just never happened.) There was a partnership and they split. I have a suspicion, but can't be certain at all, that one half became Dollits. 5 years after Angelsdoll shut down, they reopened under the one, probably the one I was talking to before, and offering all new sculpts, just the old name. There's no getting back the old sculpts though I'd hoped one would have the heads and the other the bodies, but whatever happened, it left us all bereft. I really loved their sculpts!

Goodness, that's so strange to hear! I'm honestly surprised that things turned out as such.

Huh, wow, that's quite a difference in bodies between the new and old! My Baku is on (what I recall?) the V.2 slim body? I love it, aside from the knees. They're very pointy, and look a little bit odd from certain angles. Still, the sculpting is beautiful, and I am very happy with him overall. He's been with me for so many years, I really wouldn't change anything about him. Granted, he desperately needs to be restrung, at the moment. I need to get myself in gear and actually put some supplies on order! I (unfortunately) have no extra elastic, at the moment. Fail, self. LOL.

Hi @Alewife!! Nice to see you! @Blankqueen has some gorgeous new Angelsdoll girls, too! Her Flora is amazing! Yul is just a sweetie pie, though.

Yes, he just revamped the girl body (with some ankle problems remaining, apparently) and now he will revamp the 70cm body to better match the 40cm body with its amazing poseability. He says it may take some time to complete. He also plans on bringing out static hands for the big guy. For now, it seems these are his biggest plans.

 

@Mekkisry Torsten is absolutely amazing! Love this sculpt.

 

I am just going to bounce around excitedly here for a moment. As my reward to myself for winning NaNoWriMo I ordered myself a Lucia head. My finger was hovering around the buy button while I was procrastinating but I was strict with myself and set the condition that I had to hit 50K before I was allowed to treat myself. It helped me get over the hump of that last couple of hundred words, lol!

I had the vaguest of vague ideas of a character I wanted to shell. I hadn't got anything in mind for him but thought I could use it as an excuse to get one of the many sculpts I'd been eyeing up and then develop the character from there. Cue lots of drooling. And lots of whispering "too big, too biiiig" at the screen as I fell in love over and over again with dolls with huge bonces who would not fit in well with my crew. I'd all but settled on an Impldoll Azalea to the point where I was considering emailing them to ask if they could do her with elf ears and add her to my current order with them. But somewhere along the line I stumbled on Lucia and those ears! Those cheekbones! And is that a hint of a smile? I plan on making her a guy and thank you @chalyss for putting the Resinsoul Long body out there as a possibilty - I'm hoping I can get away with a shorter body but it's nice to know there's an affordable option to fall back on. She does look like she could use a more imposing body than her 60cm default girl one but if I can keep it around 65cm I'll be happy.

So now I'm totally in love but have no idea how long a wait I have ahead of me. Anyone got any pic spam to help? Not just Lucia - the other heads look great too and I'm sure deserve more love!

@chalyss you have the mother lode of AD sculpts.

I really like Lucia as a boy. I have Yul on the 60cm girl body and feel that the head is a little too big.

 

*LOL* Sorry- I like collecting pics for reference. I use them a lot myself and they're soooo helpful! I feel the current 60cm girl body does not work well with the Lucia head. She (and her cheekbones that can cut glass) needs a taller, thinner body. The old Starwoman Impl body actually is the best match I have found. Their old Starman body would probably be a super good fit for the boy version and... I'll have to see if I ever checked that out before the heads were rehomed! The Soom Super Gem 65cm boy body is a smidge big, IMO, but YMMV.

I would love a few more of these guys! Like the massive boy body. Been wanting one for YEARS. I'd like a Sarah head. I'd like some boy head sculpts like Cyan and Michael. So I have a few to search out yet. Old AD was amazing.

Having said all that, I am leaning toward going Pro with flickr. I am sick of moving pics around and I find my pics as helpful as I hope others do, so... dug myself a grave there.

@Alewife, Yul has a big head. *L* I asked Blankqueen to show me a comp between the Yul and Flora and it was surprising! Flora is tiny! Yul is a great sculpt though, so making her a boy (who is a girl playing a boy) worked well for the size thing. Yeah, that AD 60cm girl body is SMALL. I have some comp pics!
It's very close to an NYid body, but more natural looking and less 'shaped', if that makes sense. I really love it, it's just... small!

 

@chalyss don't say sorry - it's awesome! It's helped me out plenty of times! It's almost hilarious that whenever I run an image search to do some research your pictures come up and a lot of the time there will be a comparison pic with a doll or body I own right there XD Pondering whether or not that Angelsdoll head will look too big with my tiny Iris? Considering the possibility of an Azalea? Well, here's a pic of Iris with the two of them! You're like my bjd fairy godmother!

I do really like the 60cm body - it's lovely and curvy - but yes, the Lucia head doesn't suit it. This is why I love hybrids, as frustrating as they can be sometimes! Reading through the thread it sounds like they're good bodies posing-wise too...

Oh I saw the Toria Soll pic and I wasn't sure it was a Lucia - she's so stunning as a he. Oh and your picture on the Soom body with the long wig *melts* I think his similarity to Dia is one of the things that attracted me - I love Soom dolls but I've kind of given up on ever owning one. For the same reason I'm trying not to get too attached to any of the older sculpts - I don't want a grail I'll never find, lol!

I like the 60cm body and I like the Yul head, but not together. I need to try her head on a few taller bodies.

 

Hahaha, it just seems a bit too much like unrequited love to me! Pining for something I might never have - although chasing after a doll I can't find might be kinder to my bank balance XD

It looks like there's a lot of variation between the sizes of their heads - hybridisation does seem like the way to go

 

They hybrid well. I really wanna get my hands on a massive boy body... I've wanted one for years. So few of them for sale though.

I've been looking at a 5Stardoll body for my Lucia but it's tricky - ideally I'd like to have the head before investing in a body but I don't know how long it's going to take and I really want to get it ordered before the pound is worth less than a dollar

 

Aw heck, I've been planning on buying Evan, but I didn't think about resin color until now. I think I'll probably get ns, but does anyone know what the white is like?
I also wonder if static hands are now standard? I know this body is being reworked, but I dunno if I can handle waiting to order =P

 

Evan is gorgeous! Angelsdoll white is a pale NS, not a true white. Think Iplehouse white. NS is a nice fleshy tone. here you go. The head is white next to the other pieces which are all NS:


I know AD was working on making static hands for Evan, not sure where he's at in that... or the body overhaul. He answers emails though.

Hokay, so after looking at the dolls I have, thinking about their resin colors, I think I'll order him in ns for sure. I also want to try and ask for a sample chip or something of the white resin, in case I like the body well enough to buy another for a floating head. I'm pretty excited now =)

 

The NS is a nice peachy color- I love it! The white is also pretty and a soft pale pink.Very close to Ringdoll NS. The AD light tan is amazing! I need to order something in the dark tan and violet. Impldoll Idol heads, Idealian heads, that size... they look great on the AD Evan body. He does stand 74/75cm.

 

I do love that dark tan color. I wonder what he's up to? It's been a while since his last release!

 

Well, since he hasn't magically popped in here to tell us, maybe I will email and ask him! he did say the Evan body overhaul would take a good while.

I'm thinking about ordering a 5Stardoll 60cm male body for my incoming Lucia head but I really can't decide what colour to go for The head is Normal which seems to be somewhere between pink and peachy so I was leaning towards pink except I've heard 5Stardoll's yellow is quite pink so maybe that would be a better match?

Well, I have normal AD resin available and 5star white and pink, but no yellow. The 5star white is very creamy, the pink is quite pink (almost exact to Impldoll pink) and from pics the yellow looks /yellow/. But maybe it depends on batches?

 

I'm thinking the same since looking through pics the older yellows look fairly neutral but the more recent ones look yellow-yellow. So I'm thinking pink, lol. Impldoll pink is very pink atm - used to be close to Resinsoul normal but now it's def pinker. Normally I'd wait until I had the head but 5Stardoll has an event running right now so if I buy the body and a cat (I don't need a cat says my wallet) I can get a free doll under $200 (I don't have MSDs and I neglect my yosds - shut up wallet, they have a chibi Hellboy!)

 

So I ordered my boy right before christmas, I can't wait to see how he turns out =) Do you guys know how long the wait time is? I know I read it somewhere, but I've forgotten, oops.
I ordered him in ns, but now I find I'm wanting one in white too, maybe as a body for a floating head I have(a Venitu in fresh skin), or as a character doll(after thinking about it, I bet Evan would make a nice DIO from JJBA)

 

I'd like to know how long the wait time is too - ordered my Lucia head Nov 30th so in theory once that arrives it should mean your order isn't far behind

 

Well, it's been a few months, and my order still says "processing" on the website. I guess it's time to send an email to ask for an update :P

I got my doll pretty soon after bugging Angelsdoll. I've got the box opening here: /threads/angelsdoll-evan.804049/

I wasn't expecting him to be bigger than my Venitu, for some reason. Deffo a good candidate for making hybrids.
I can't really comment on stability or posing until I fix the knees. I think he's gonna need suedeing for sure. I also think I wanna try sanding his seams.

When I first got my Evan, back when he was launched, I had thought to shorten his legs and make him less than 75cm; but when I saw him in person, he looked so nice that I never bothered. The knees ARE a problem, yes! I now have 2 of the Evan bodies and had to break down and wire his legs. It barely works. Mine has 6mm string, too (I made this request of AD and they obliged) but I think, for the legs, he needs thicker if his joints will take it. I'll have to experiment with the size on the bottom half of the body and use a non traditional method. Sueding, from my experience, will not be enough on it's own.

 

@chalyss your poke must have done something. I like the new head they've announced!

 

Im surprised how cheap they are compared to the amount of details in them, they look amazing!
I really love the face of Gunel, $60 for a 70cm doll head seems like its not believable to me?

If anyone's interested, I wanted to order a full doll, the 70cm male one but he told me Im not able to because he is updating the body to fix the issues and refine the appearance, and he might present it next month so theres that to look forward to

The body's been in update mode for a long time now- which he did say would happen. Nice to hear it'll be done soon!

I like these new heads! I want both boy heads! Yes, $60 seems cheap but it is correct.

 

$60 a head also makes it hard to reach that $200 mark for the freebies unless I want all 4. *L* I so wanna try a violet one!
