@Dreadfulme, OooOOoooh!! Last time they reworked the girl body, she got a longer neck. I am very curious to see what they're doing this time! Maybe make her taller? Maybe add front thigh slits! THAT'D be nice. I might go ask what changes are being made!

 

That's interesting news! I wouldn't mind a little taller, or a little longer torso.

 

Thanks for keeping us posted! I bit more length to her torso would be great but she IS awfully cute as-is!

For any unrepentant headhunters like me, thought I would mention that I asked Angelsdoll if Evan could be sold as just the head. They let me know they intended to have that as an option in the future. I'm very interested in the Lucia head but Evan seems to call to me as well, so I asked. Just been waiting for them to release him as such~ Probably should ask after an ETA, hehe~

Now i'm curious about new joints, and also if company is still just reworking on female body or have any plans for male body too.
Anyway it wouldn't be bad if they finally will add high heeled feet to female body

 

when i'd read reworked i hoped for more important changes, such adding heeled feet and making the girl body taller, com'on..she's barely 60cm and he's like effeil tower..

Sorry to double post, but would someone mind telling me if another doll's legs would fit in the sockets (or are close to fitting in the sockets--I don't mind modding) of the female body?

I want a doll that's a bit taller than she is, but I like the more realistic aesthetic.

Maybe Impldoll legs? (I really like floating kneecaps as opposed to hidden peanut. Or really anything other body that someone's willing to look at.)

I don't really need a picture of the legs in the socket, but if someone with another female body could measure the circumference of the upper thigh, right where it goes into the socket, and then do that for another body, that'd be great. Male legs are fine too.

@americanseamstress Are you still wondering about other legs in the Angelsdoll hips? I had success putting the legs from the newest Doll in Mind Love body in the hip sockets. Thighs were smaller overall and there was a little extra room but posing/ mobility was better. I've rehomed my Angelsdoll body and am packing it up to mail tonight, but I can take you measurements beforehand if you still want them. You want the circumference of the hip (on the leg pieces) right?

I did my first and second faceups ever on the lucia head, its so androgynous and hungry looking. Very glad i purchased this head, by reccomendatiom from a friend.

will probably add a bit more blush to the nose and cheeks, maybe some contouring for those lovely cheekbones.

She needs a face up! *LOL* Well, I think the neck is fairly small- 9cm. I'd probably go with a Resin Soul Long body for him, which is inexpensive, nice and lanky, and poses well. Of course, depends on the size you want him. What height and aesthetic are you looking for? Lean or muscly?

 

Excellent reccomendation, its lanky and not too muscular, the price would be perfect for me. Thank you.

I just remembered I have a Long body and a Lucia head. I could show this pairing though the Long body is in their baby blue color.

@DustinFlan I think I will! Angelsdoll's website photos never do justice to the sculpts IMO. I can see from your photo just how nice it is.

 

And here we go! I should have used a different wig though. The neck is a speck too big but should be fine. My Long had an ancient knot at the top so I need to restring as it was too large for the Lucia's neck hole. ...which is very small.

Wow thank you for testing this out for me Chalyss! It looks like a pretty good match in size... I think i might just purchase this body for my lucia boy. Gotta compare some resin colors now.

 

No problem at all! If you have the AD 'white' like I have, then Resin Soul's normal skin will match quite well! You can see the color of it in my flickr albums under the RS Yi tag. The Lucia head would look better and less long necked when properly on; this one was hovering.

 

After ages of owning an Angelsdoll Shakan I finally started customizing him. I'm really nervous about painting him so I am working on other things for now. I wonder if anyone else bought one of these boys?



Also, something strange happened to his resin color. He used to be a special tan-ish color but within a week of owning him, and of being exposed to artificial light he turned a sort of olive-ish tone. The parts not exposed to light turned bright pink. I may dismantle him and expose all his parts to light equally but I am curious if this happened to anyone else?

 

I haven't seen a Shakan in ages. He's gorgeous! Very strange about the two-tone resin though.

 

AH! One of the old sweeties! I have 2 Ivan heads, one Baku, 2 Iseuls (cat and human) and a Rin. But no Shakan!

Is that the oriental tone? My Rin is that, almost a sandy color. Super pretty but her face is greening. My Iseul cat head was their tan and turned mustard yellow, and when I went over my vivid skin Baku head with magic sponge to get off a face up, he turned totally that color you have. It's a chemical reaction- AD's old tans and semi-tans were really unstable and turned green quickly in certain lights. Their dark tan was more stable but still greens a bit. Sealant works wonders as does getting paint over it quickly to block the damaging effects of light. The older tans often have this problem. Here you can see Iseul's mustard yellow face:


Not sure about the two toned effect except that what was protected from the light reacted differently..? Wow, unstable resin.

That's him in my icon, and his original color. I also noticed his pants (the set in my icon) changed his skin color to bright pink too so I took that off as well. After exposing his legs to light, they changed to match the rest of him. I am still debating if I want to go to the trouble of taking him apart to just get his joints to match the rest of him. I think it would only matter if I planned to sell him I guess.
A shame though. I hope they've improved their recipe!

 

It looks like maybe vivid skin..? Sort of their version of Iplehouse special real skin or Resin Soul's coffee skin. That stuff greeeeeeeens so bad! Maybe a nice dye dip in ipoly could restore him. Or heavy blushing. I used acrylic paint to match my Iseul in mustard to her Twigling body.

The original Angelsdoll, the company that produced Shakan and Baku, has been defunct for almost 4 years now. Angelsdoll has reopened, but only half the partnership of the original exists. So all new sculpts and resins. They don't carry a color like that anymore but they do have a beautiful caramel tan, a darker tan, and a violet grey. Wait, I have a pic:


I also hope they have gone with more stable resin!

He's working on a 40cm version which should be out soon, but I don't collect that size. I don't think the old company had that size either, did they?

 

Yeah it was vivid skin! I don't plan to recolor him in any way. I don't dislike the color he turned. I just hope he doesn't turn any other colors!

I was happy to see that the company returned though. Their new sculpts are so beautiful. I hope when their smaller doll comes out that it does really well!

 

Not that I remember. I wonder if he's working on any more 1/3 heads as well?

 

Oh I hope so! I have bugged him a few times- he was revamping the joint systems of the 60cm bodies... to be more like the 40cm body which has amazing posing ability. I think we'll see new sculpts in the new year. A taller girl too, I hope. He just keeps promising things are coming, so I am trying hard to be patient...

Wow~ The posing on that new body seems absolutely amazing!!! Very nice facial traits too~ I don't know if all colors are available... There's no option menu for his listing.

 

It IS incredible posing! it is also a 40cm doll. He is using the 70cm Evan page as a template and he's adding and changing the info as he goes over the next few days.

I love the large jointed hands

I had problems registering. I registered and it would not let me sign in saying there is no email or username in that name but when I try to register it says it is taken I found their email and send to them

I really like the shape of the jointed hands for the 75 cm it’s very nice I hope they will let me buy it alone and that they reply to my email

 

I'd been meaning to ask AD about their jointed hands and if they'd sell them as stand-alone items. Let me know if he tells you!

 

@chalyss funny because I fell in Love with the hands when I saw it on your Aerek and it made me want to ask them because the idealian hands I received were too small plus I love all the details in the hand and nails!!! I’ll post here when I get a reply

*LOL* That is funny! Yeah the hands are HUGE. The wrist ball is really big so it may need modding to fit in other wrists.

I do all my corresponding via email with AD- they should respond that way. I just keep forgetting to ask about the danged hands!

 

I got a reply from them this morning :-)

They told me the jointed hand parts for their 75 will be available for order separately soon

@chalyss yes the ball joint does look big but the hands are beautiful when I sand it and if it still look awkward there will be he man cuffs to hide it

That ought to be the price for just the head, but it really does go into the shopping cart as $40! Weird...

Hi, my Angelsdoll Cat Avatar Cian, whom I've bought recently, finally arrived! I've been pining for this boy for a long time. Managed to snatch him secondhand for a 'not-so-terrible' price. I'm so happy! I named him 'Shrkhan'.

I'm also waiting for an Angelsdoll Lucia head in white skin. Any body suggestions for both heads?

Congratulations, that's a real find!
I like Granado bodies with these heads. I'm not sure what would match AD white though.

 

CONGRATS!!! So hard to find the older sculpts! Cian would do well on a 68-72cm body. Aprilstory normal would match that kinda well, as would their white. Their white is a cream white but not as dark as my monitor is showing yours. I have an Ivan head and he looks pretty good on a Mirodoll 68cm muscle body. I can show a pic later. If you want a tall, lean Lucia lady, then a Mirodoll 70cm girl body is not bad. She'd probably look best on a 65cm though. Or did you want her as a him?

@chalyss I would love to see the Ivan hybrid, seems intriguing. Lucia's going to be a tall, slim woman.The Impldoll body with the Lucia head looks good. I also really like Lucia on the Mirodoll 70cm body; although, I would prefer bodies around 60-65cm but who says a woman can't be as tall as her man? Thanks for the suggestions! Truly appreciate it.
