@ryuunohime Yes, I did get her through Christina! I happened to be up just when she made the post! Maybe she ended up being able to get more than 1? I hope you are still able to get her!! I don't know quite how many sets there are in total, but from angell studio's weibo seemed like there were maybe 40 all together?

I have emailed them quite a few times but they never have answered me, I am not sure why so all my AS dolls/clothes have been purchased through Christina!

I'm going to give it one last shot and email AS directly too and see if they get back to me. It's worth a try. Of course it's the middle of the night in China right now, and they might not be in until Monday...the suspense is going to kill me, lol.

 

Aw, well thank you! I still hope you can get her! I sometimes wake up at 3am (leftover habit from working midnights) so I just got lucky and checked my phone! I will definitely post pics once I get her though! And it doesn't hurt to ask them. Maybe AS may consider making some more sets of both the Knight and Queen ver. of Kelly considering how fast she went? I don't know that any of their fullsets have gone this fast!

I saw her on a few other dealers pages, dolk and legenddoll, I don't have experience with dolk, but I have purchased recently with legenddoll and they seemed pretty responsive? I don't see the fullset but it might not hurt to ask there as well

 

omg if they re-release the queen fullset i'd be ever so thankful. I've attempted to email AS, but no response :< I'm wondering if i'm going to have to figure out xianyu

 

I managed to snag a fullset of Kelly Knight!!! I'm so excited. I've been after a girl doll with armor for years, and I kept missing out on them for one reason or another (and they're few and far between to start with.) So this is like a grail of mine!

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the detail work, Angell Studio always does an incredible job.

I'm still shocked the Queen ver. was gone that fast. It is gorgeous, though.

Does anyone have any idea on the turnaround time from AS right now? I saw the waiting room thread hadn't been posted in since October...

 

When I ordered from TaoBao last year, it was about three months between ordering and it arriving to the official TB shipping consolidator. But there was no outfit involved, just a face-up.

 

I had just ordered AS Kelly fullset via Dolk. Pricier than Christina (new clover singing) but it is what it is q.q

If anyone's interested in knight fullset, the listing is up on Dolk US website. However, I don't see the Queen fullset version there.

 

Congrats! Have you ever used Dolk before? I always wondered how the experience is ordering with them. I managed to order my fullset through Christina but was curious!

@fate_xo I too want the sword and shield, but I haven't gotten any response at all from AS about whether they were just props (like the horse.) I guess they really have stopped answering emails, which sucks. If all else fails, I have a SartoriaJ sword (hopefully won't be too big?) but I don't have a shield. Hrm.

@ryuunohime I asked Christina about it! Will let you know if I hear anything! Not sure if she will really have any info, but Angell Studio has never replied to me anytime I have emailed or contacted them directly LOL. I kind of wish they at least had included or made the sword an option for her fullset! I just want everything to match haha but the sword looked especially cool!

I just placed an order for Jing in milk after debating back and forth between solid butter and milk (and have gone through pictures from this thread, which were very helpful, especially the comparison picture from pages ago) and I just wanted to see how it photographs for owners in different lighting, particularly sunlight/daylight if you have any pictures like that.

Thank you, this is perfect! How do you like the color in person? All of AS's resin colors look very nice so it was hard to choose.

 

@RococoSpring I like it. I have 4 dolls in milk and 1 body in butter to use a FL NS head. Milk is AS's most popular color imo but it's more like a pink undertone white of other companies.

 

@bahboh That's good to hear! I liked that it looked like it had a bit of a pink undertone while not being too white. I don't really like many of the white resins I've seen because they make dolls look kind of ghostly to me. But I was worried since butter photographed really yellow in some lighting... so I guess I'm just hoping that milk seems like a realistic pale skin tone rather than off-white. :]

 

@RococoSpring All 3 of my mermaids are in milk skin. mostly indoor lighting, primarily with white light led light bulbs in the ceiling or lighting the cabinet, some daylight lighting from a window, and like one outdoor set,
Luna, is the oldest, 2nd hand from a hot country, and did have some yellowing. i did switch out her upper chest/arms out from a newer set.

@bahboh Ahh, thank you so much for these! This is really useful, and I love the faceups + painting you did for the mermaid tails. Butter looks really good here as well. :] Maybe someday I'll get a sculpt in butter, but this is at least reassuring for now that I think I'll enjoy milk!

 

Just saw someone received their Kelly! Not sure where they ordered from, but that makes me hopeful for mine being ready soon. We're right about the three month mark!

I wish I had an answer for you. Maybe try going through a dealer to communicate? Not sure they will unless you order with them, though.

 

Hi all! I have a beautiful solid pink 1/3 Charlotte and I absolutely love her face. Although, I am less happy with the high heel body. When I ordered I didn't realize this was the default body. It's not very flexible and I would've loved the other older body. I am looking for a cheaper body for her, so she can wear other types of shoes and just pose a bit better. Does anyone have a different body for their AS head? I heard the normal pink of Doll Family H matches as close as possible but the neck seems a bit bigger so I am worried the head won't fit. Any tips?

 

My Knight Kelly arrived earlier this week and I was finally able to pick her up and unbox her today. She’s beautiful and I love all the details!
However, after putting in her eyes I found out that I am completely unable to put her head back on- the strings are so incredible tight. I feel like I may have damaged my fingers trying… does anyone else have this problem? I could really use some tips because I’m at a loss here. She may have to go headless at this point…

I usually use this sort of tool when taking the head on and off. I can't remember what it's called (so this is probably not that helpfilul, lol), but it hooks onto the ring so I don't have to use my fingers.

 

I hope yours will arrive soon as well! Angellstudio told me it would take up to three months after I placed my order and I think they were pretty much right on mark haha.
And thank you, I’ll at least know to search then! There was a long kind of bendable wire included with her so I tried using that but just ended up really hurting my fingers.

She really is gorgeous though! It took me quite a while to put all of the armor pieces on but the way they’re made works so well. She really does look as good as in the promotional pictures. I’m honestly really impressed with their work on the clothing.

@Eviana Ohhh a Knight Kelly! I'm also waiting on one. So glad you were able to get her head back on. I have to have my husband help me, but without him I'd definitely need one of those tools the others recommended! It's crazy how tight they pull the elastic in these dolls sometimes. Do share more pictures if you can get them to work, I know the forum is finicky but I'd love to see them!

Yeah, four months was the original estimate, but this seems to be how it goes for me with this hobby, lol. I'm usually the last one to get whatever sculpt I've ordered. Please post pictures when you get her! I've yet to see any owner shots of her knight version. (And I think only one Queen so far.)

@bahboh It was in the BJD Addicts facebook group. It doesn't look like the fullset but the pictures are still there, I just searched for "kelly" and found the post from June 10.

 

Well I hope it doesn't take too long! I did also order her super quickly, like as soon as she was listed! So that could be why lolol.

I will definitely post pics, she will probably get here soon though I do expect she will get in customs for a bit....excited to see her in real though!

 

Just wanted to let everyone know that I received a reply from AS' English email today (Aug 1)...but I wrote to them in March!!

I asked about a Kelly Knight fullset because I wasn't sure at the time if I'd gotten through with Christina. It seems they have some available on their site now, if anyone was still looking for her fullset.

 

So my Kelly and her knight outfit shipped seperately, but I got the Knight outfit yesterday!

I put it on the Xin since Kelly is not here yet. I will try to post some pictures. The outfit is really great but it was a nightmare to get it on her, and I'm pretty sure I put some pieces on wrong as well. So wish this came with a manual!

 

I like to save pictures of fullsets and some outfits that I order so I have some guide when they arrive.

 

I've seen some Kelly unboxings on bilibili and she is gorgeous! Her outfits are so elaborate, reminds me a bit of Dollfie Dream Saber outfits. I wish I knew how long she'd be available for as a basic, I'm definitely considering her. I hope you lucky Kelly owners will share some pics here when your girls arrive!

On a semi-related note, does anyone know if you can get the 58cm body with flat feet? I know that you can get flat feet on a bigger body, but I really prefer smaller 1/3 girls. I mean, they have 58cm high heel FEET, so it would make sense? Perhaps wishful thinking, but I thought I'd ask here before bothering a dealer.

 

Well I receieved my Kelly and I am honestly dissapointed with the makeup! It doesn't look close to the pictures at all for me. Maybe I am overthinking it, but I did not have this issue with my Xin or Aoife .

 

@Dolly Sorry, I don't know. I've only ever seen them with the heeled legs.

@fate_xo Oh no! Can you post pictures? I know the forum is difficult but I'd like to see. I doubt you are overthinking it, for as much as we pay for these dolls they should be perfect. It's always hard when they're not. You might be able to get a refund for the faceup? It's worth asking.

 

Apologies for the double post, but I just wanted to put here as well that my Kelly finally shipped! Christina said September and thankfully I didn't have to wait long into the month for a shipping notice. So about a six month turnaround. So excited!!

 

I cannot for the life of me get the faceplate off my Angell Studio 62cm girl. Nor can my husband. Can anyone take pictures of the way the two halves fit together for me please? It’s well and truly vexing us. It shouldn’t be as difficult as it’s proving.

Would this help? One of my magnets is unglued, so you see the hole, and it sticks to the other side, but it still stays on well.

If it's the other kind with a head+head cap that comes off, I also have heads like that from them.

 

So, fun fact, Angell Studio has MULTIPLE faceplate systems. I have two girls with AS faceplates, BUT they look nothing like the faceplate that @bahboh is showing above. Mine have two magnets up by the forehead, and no magnets lower down.

On my girls, the only way to remove the faceplate is to tip the FOREHEAD out away from the headback while keeping the chin/jaw against the headback, then pulling up away at angle. You're basically opening it as if there's a hidden hinge in the chin/jaw.

Basically, headback and faceplate: ||
Tip forehead away from headback: |/
Then lift up and away at an angle.

The faceplate cannot be pulled directly out from the headback, nor can it be lifted straight out. It has to be done at this weird tipped angle.

Okay, Kelly is finally here! It took her 34 days to get to me. And it's taken me since her arrival on Thursday to get her all put together. This is absolutely the most complicated fullset I have ever dealt with. All of the armor is leather and corseted onto the body! I also thought they did a good job with her faceup. All in all I'm very excited to have her here, and I took some quick pictures once I got her all dressed up.

 

Does anyone have multiple of their charm sized bodies? I feel like there is a 60 cm girl and a 62 cm. Do they share quite well in your experience?

 

I'm aware of at least 4 different SD-sized girl bodies from Angell Studio!

One body is the 60cm 2020 version, which has 9.7cm wide shoulders. This is the body that came with Li Shi Shi and Caroline. It's available with heel legs or flat feet. I have had this body, and it is huge -- parallel to SD16, imho. It is actually NOT 60cm -- the flat foot version is 62.3cm, and the high heel version is 62.8cm (including head: 56cm and 56.5cm without head).

There's a 62cm version, which has 9.0cm wide shoulders. I know Bingyu/Racrimosa and Cynthia come on this body. It's available with heel legs or flat feet. I've never had this body, so I can't comment on it.

There is also the 58cm body, which has 9.4cm shoulders. It's only available with heel legs. I don't know who comes on this body, but I do know it exists, because you can buy it via the Angell Studio Taobao shop.

There's also the 57cm 2017 version, which has 8.8cm wide shoulders. This is the body that Charlotte and Cinderella come on. It's only available with heel legs. I currently own this body and it's very petite!

What I can say is that the "60cm 2020 version" and the "57cm 2017 version" do NOT share very well at all. The 60cm needs SD16-sized clothes, whereas the 57cm needs SD10/SD13-sized clothes (and even then, I sometimes have to pin things to fit her slim torso).

 

For whatever it's worth, I have the 62cms body with heel legs, and she can share the clothes and shoes of my SDGr G. Sorry that I don't have more detailed info because she's my only AS doll.

 

Thank you so much for the detailed break down. I think I bought two different bodies and I'll have to measure them since the waist on one of the outfits is super tight. I know they are definitely much more popular in China so hopefully it won't be too hard to find clothes but some are very fitted. Both my girls only have heeled legs.

 

Not related to the current convo at all, but I was able to obtain this doll recently from Angell Studio through a split and she's so GORGEOUS.
I need to work on making her clothes...

I'd like to know if the sculpt would ever be available as a basic set. How often does Angell Studio do that?

I think I'm in love but I don't want to buy a fullset that I'm not going to use.

 

Since she is an IP collab doll, she's only sold as a fullset and also highly unlikely to be rereleased due to licensing permissions. But splits are totally an option.

 

I ended up ordering Aeolian less than 24 hours after seeing her. I went through taobao since others mentioned on FB that the price is lower purchasing that way than through AS' website.

This is probably the most impulsive doll purchase I've ever made so I'm hoping she'll be worth it. I'm trying to figure out her measurements but they're not in English. The only thing I might be understanding is that she's 64cm tall with a head and 59.5cm tall without it.

If that's the case is this a completely new body from the other ones mentioned in a previous post? It doesn't quite look like the other bodies listed on the AS site either.

 

I think you’re right. Her default body is something called an “AS slim body,” which I have not heard of before and which is listed aside “AS58 body, AS60 body, AS62 body, AS slim body” as the suitable body types.

The body has stats of 26cm bust, 18cm waist, and 29cm hips.
